UNKNOWN RELATIVE Based on the date this was a 2nd generation family member. Had they been born in 1863 that would put them at the age of 20 in 1883. ・Cara Dutton and Jacob Dutton never had any children according to Jack Dutton. We don't see them around the ranch and Cara is constantly corresponding to Spencer Dutton begging him to come home, not a distant son we haven't seen yet. ・Claire Dutton had no remaining children when Mary Abel died it's why she killed herself instead of continuing on. ・That leaves James Dillard Dutton and Margaret Dutton possibly having a child that didn't travel with them? They could have stayed in Tennessee or been overseas with Jacob and Cara in Ireland or Scotland. This option seems to be the only option that has any chance of making sense. March 16, 1863 - ???? Unknown the who, what, where, when and why this Dutton family member existed.

As such, spoilers will be included and updated with each chapter; so if you’d rather not deal with that, please avoid this!

1858 - June: Samuel and Ameila Harrington welcome the birth of their son and heir, Steven.

November: Arthur and Delphine Fairchild welcome the birth of their daughter, Eleanor. (Occurs before the story starts, not depicted.)

1865 - Lincoln Inauguration, Civil War Ends, Lincoln Assassination, Ratification of the 13th Amendment

1866 - the National Labor Union was founded on August 20, First successful transatlantic cable is completed (England to the United States).

1868 - June 25: Congress enacts an 8-hour workday for workers employed by the government, July: Ratification of the 14th Amendment.

1869 - January: Grant Inauguration, Commanche Chief Toch-a-way informs Gen. Philip H. Sheridan that he is a "good Indian," Sheridan reportedly replied: "The only good Indian is a dead Indian."

May: First Transcontinental Railroad completed when Union Pacific and Central Pacific lines met in Utah solidified by a golden railroad spike to link the railroads.

September 24: First “Black Friday” stock market panic due to financier’s attempt to corner the market on gold.

1870 - February: Hiram R. Revels of Mississippi becomes the first African American to serve in the US Senate. Joseph H. Rainey of South Carolina becomes the first Black Representative, J.D. Rockefeller establishes Standard Oil of Ohio.

March: 15th Amendment is Ratified

1871 - P.T. Barnum opens his three-ring circus, hailing it as the "Greatest Show on Earth,"

March: Indian Appropriations Act - Congress declares that Indian tribes will no longer be treated as independent nations with whom the government must conduct negotiations; Native Americans legally become wards of the nation.

October 8: The Great Chicago Fire claims 250 lives and destroys 17,500 buildings.

1872 - Montgomery Ward & Co., the first mail-order business, opens in Chicago.

Nov. 5: Susan B. Anthony and other women's suffrage advocates are arrested for attempting to vote in Rochester, N.Y.

1873 - Grant’s second inauguration, The first electric streetcar begins operation in New York City; Free mail delivery begins in all cities above 20,000 population; Mark Twain and C. D. Warner publish the novel The Gilded Age.

Mar. 3: The Comstock Act prohibits the mailing of obscene literature.

Sept. 18: The Financial Panic of 1873 begins. 5,183 business fail; Congress makes gold the national standard and eliminates all silver currency.

Period of recurring epidemics beginning in 1865 comes to an end. From Boston to New Orleans, epidemics of smallpox, cholera, typhus, typhoid, scarlet fever, and yellow fever had killed thousands.

1875 - Steven begins his studies at Harvard; Nell begins hers at Vassar; Christopher, her older brother begins his final year at Harvard. (Occurs before the story starts, not depicted.)

1876 - Centennial Exposition opens in Philadelphia, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

Feb. 14: 29-year-old Alexander Graham Bell patents the telephone.

May: The nation celebrates its centennial by opening an International Exhibition in Philadelphia.

June 25: Battle of the Little Big Horn - George A. Custer and 265 officers and enlisted men are killed by Sioux Indians led by Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse at the Little Horn River in Montana.

1877 - Hayes Inauguration, Reconstruction ends with the withdrawal of federal troops in the south, Great Railroad Strike: After West Virginia railroad workers strike to protest wage reductions, sympathy strikes and violence spread across the Midwest. Federal troops break the strikes.

June to Oct.: Nez Percé Indians, led by Chief Joseph, surrender after a 1600-mile trek retreating from U.S. troops through the U.S. northwest. They are sent to a reservation in Indian Territory (Oklahoma).

Thomas Edison patents the phonograph.

1878 - German engineer Karl Benz produces the first automobile powered by an internal combustion engine; Thomas Edison patents the photograph.

1879 - The Carlisle School (Pa.) is opened “Americanize” Indian children.

Feb. 15: Congress grants woman attorneys the right to argue cases before the Supreme Court.

Oct. 21: Edison invents the first practical light bulb.

1881 - Helen Hunt Jackson's Century of Dishonor recounts the government's unjust treatment of Native Americans.

January: Christopher and Marian Fairchild welcome the birth of their son and heir, August.

May: Steven returns to New York from the Continent; begins working with his father at their various real estate holdings. (Occurs before the story starts, not depicted.)

July 2: President James Garfield is shot by Charles Guiteau, a disgruntled office-seeker. He died on Sept. 19.

July 4: Booker T. Washington opens Tuskegee Institute.

July 19: Sitting Bull and other Sioux Indians return to the United States from Canada.

September: Arthur and Delphine Fairchild pass away after battling tuberculosis; Christopher takes over the family holdings and arranges for his sister to travel back to New York from France; Marian begins paying calls to the Four Hundred and laying the groundwork for Eleanor’s societal debut. 1882 - Attorney Samuel Dodd devises the trust, under which stockholders turn over control of previously independent companies to a board of trustees; Standard Oil Trust, the first trust, is formed by John D. Rockefeller.

May 6: Congress passes the Chinese Exclusion Act, barring Chinese Chinese immigration for ten years.

December: Eleanor arrives in New York from France entering her half-mourning period and Steven has one-sided meet cute; news the arrival spreads quickly; her debutante ball to be held at the Fairchild manse on 5th Avenue is the talk of the town. (Chapter I. Coup de foudre - story begins here.)

1883 -

January: Mrs. Astor’s annual ball, the most anticipated event of the season, is held; Nell and Steve both receive invitations.

March 26: Mrs. Vanderbilt, feeling snubbed by The Four Hundred, throws her famous masquerade ball, commemorating the completion of her new Fifth Avenue mansion, Petit Château; Nell and Steve are once again invited to the masquerade, but Nell is warned by Marian to keep her distance from Mr. Harrington; each invite has instructions to dress as their assigned characters. Sid Roth Interview Session with peggy joyce ruth

Sid: Well are your young people red hot for the Messiah? Are you red hot for the Messiah? My guest Peggy Joyce Ruth has been challenged by God because she literally was entertaining a spirit of fear 25 years ago. And God said “All of the answers are found in Psalm 91.” So for the past 25 years she’s been studying Psalm 91. She wrote a book for the adults then she wrote the new one we’re talking about this week for children. I mean as young as 4 years old you can read it to them. I think that you can even it to children younger and the word of God will not return void but I believe that this can be even a Bible study for families or for house churches. When they hear the teaching this deep deep teaching on Psalm 91… Peggy you told me that every problem known to man is handled in Psalm 91?

Peggy Joyce:Yes.

Sid: And you also we were talking when we went on the air about your son had a disease and was it the same time that the Kennedy baby died of that same condition?

Peggy Joyce:Yes our son was born just a few months after the Kennedy baby had died and they both had the same membrane disease in their lungs and none of the hospital staff expected them to live and he was placed in an incubator for over a month. And this was just was when we were just first hearing this and getting a hold of it and to me it is so much fun to see how all the different ways which God works miraculously when you’re trusting in His word. When he had this disease the doctors… this doctor had only recently starting practicing medicine again because he had had 2 nephews that had died from this same disease, the doctor did. He had quit practicing medicine for awhile so that he could study and try to find a cure for it. Well, he had just come back to practice when Bill was born and so when he realized that Bill had the exact same disease that his nephews had he starting trying everything on Bill that he had read about during his studies. And miraculously Bill started responded to one of the methods it was as Epson salt enema if you can imagine.

Sid: Hm.

Peggy Joyce:So any way Bill then was perfectly okay and I thought how wonderful it was that there were many babies who had famous doctors in large city hospitals and yet here was our son in just a little rural town and God had this doctor who had done all of this research until he found a cure for the very disease that Bill had. So what I wanted the young people to know is that God works sometimes through human hands but He’s still the one doing the miracle, He’s still the healer. And so that son has grown up and loves God and he’s the one that I used in the back of the book to illustrate. I always put in my books a plan of salvation so that they can know the scriptures of how to get saved.

Sid: But you know the way you did that is so wonderful. I can see these young people that go through this book not only walking without fear but being evangelists.

Peggy Joyce:Yes, and see that’s my vision, that’s my goal because we want them to know that there’s a physical protection but the most important protection is the eternal protection. And I certainly don’t want to put a book out about physical protection and then leave off the eternal. And so these 3 pages of scripture on salvation and then a prayer and of course there’s no particular prayer that has to be prayed but you know it just gives them an idea of how they can pray and ask the Lord to come into their heart. And I didn’t want to just leave it that way since it’s a children’s book I gave them an example of how our son, when he was in the 4th grade, had marked all of these salvation scriptures in his Bible. And he later then had a friend, his best friend was Shane and Shane had come to spend the night and they wanted to put up their tent to sleep in the backyard and so just before bedtime Jack decided he would slip outside and just check on the boys and we half expected to find them asleep but when we got out there there was a light in the tent and we went over real quietly and there was Bill with his flashlight and his Bible and he was reading all of these salvation scriptures to his friend and telling him how to get saved. And we slipped back into the house and we had barely gotten in bed and we were just rejoicing on what was going on outside and the backdoor flew open and both of those boys just came flying into our bed and both of them saying “Dad wakeup we need to pray Shane wants to get saved.” And of course you know Bill could have led him in a prayer to receive Jesus but he had done the main part he had shown him the scriptures and he had shared the good news that God had made a way for everyone to come to Him. And so God not only wants all people to be saved He wants us to have a victorious life the years we’re living in this world too.

Sid: I’m reminded in your book where you talked about “I will not fear destruction,” as age 4 Skylar stopped breathing because he fell over a cliff with his bicycle and the X-rays showed that there was a bad break and the first vertebrae of his neck.

Peggy Joyce:Yes.

Sid: But his mother new about Psalm 91 what happened?

Peggy Joyce:His mother and his aunt are members of our church and they’ve been taught about Psalm 91 we’ve been teaching to our congregation for a long time. I mean they didn’t turn loose, they kept putting words. They kept having what they called their both nurses and they were having to give him rescue breaths on the way because he would quit breathing. And the X-ray clearing showed the break and when it did well they immediately helicoptered him to the children’s hospital. And they said that they stayed outside just quoting that word and quoting Psalm 91 and they said that when the doctors came out after a long time they just came out puzzled and they said “We do not understand it.” And they showed 2 sets of X-rays the first X-ray was taken in Commanche clearly showing the break. The next set of X-rays that they had taken just hours later and there was no break in his neck and we’re talking miracles, we’re talking about instantaneous miracles.

Sid:  I can’t wait to see your kids become super evangelists walking without fear, laying hands on the sick. And I believe that this is a Bible study for your entire family.

Biographie de Ratle Snacke

Ratle Snacke le raton laveur est né le 3 juin 1845 dans la ferme de ses parents en Amérique. Ils n’étaient ni pauvres ni riches grâce aux trésors de leurs ancêtres. C’était un raton laveur anthropomorphique comme tous les animaux de ce monde.

Plutôt étrange, c’était un raton laveur et pas un serpent me diriez-vous. Mais son père l’avait appelé ainsi parce qu’il le pensait malin comme un crotale. Il a grandi dans de bonnes conditions dans cette belle ferme, et à ses 6 ans, il va enfin à l’école.

C’était une petite école en dehors de la ville, Quand il entendait la maîtresse sonner la cloche ça voulait dire que le travail l’attendait. Les heures passée à l’école l’ennuyait beaucoup. Il préférait se balader dans les champs ou explorer des grottes. Il y avait rencontré un ami très fidèle à l’école, il s’appelait Roberts, Roberts le poulet. Un raton laveur et un poulet ! À cette époque, il était un peu le beau garçon de l’école. Mais une seule fille avait conquis son cœur, c’était la magnifique Sarah. Une ratonne laveuse belle et intelligente, gracieuse et élégante. Un jour alors qu’il rentrait à la ferme après une longue journée à l’école, il ne s’attendait pas à ce qu’il allait se produire.

Lorsqu’il ouvrit la porte il tomba sur trois desperados tenant en joue ses parents avec leurs revolvers. Ratle se cacha dans un buisson près de la fenêtre pour épier la situation, lorsque soudain les trois brigands tirèrent chacun un coup de feu. Quand il vit ses parents tomber au sol sous les tirs, Ratle pleura de toutes les larmes de son corps avant de prendre la fuite dans la forêt par peur de se faire avoir aussi.

Il marcha dans le désert durant quinze mois entier avant de se faire emmener par une tribu commanche dans leur camp. La tribu lui jeta une malédiction et le rejeta, le maléfice consistait à bloquer sa croissance à partir de ses vingt ans. Ratle repris son périple à travers le désert alors qu’il avait déjà douze ans, et cela malgré le soleil qui brûlait et la soif qui lui rongeait de l’intérieur.

Après un long chemin il arriva dans une ville, Benton City était son nom. Ratle se pressa d’aller boire dans une rivière afin de calmer sa soif. Il se trouva un petit boulot dans l’hôtel de la ville en tant que groom, ce qui lui rapporta assez d’argents pour s’acheter une chemise blanche et un beau veston grisâtre.

Bien après il s’acheta une maison a côté du poste de télégraphe ou il s’y installa, par chance il habitait à côté de l’hôtel. Février 1863, Ratle a une excellente réputation en ville, il est reconnu comme un héros de l’ouest grâce à ses nombreux voyages à travers le monde et ses combats contre les desperados des environs.

À cette époque il avait déjà dix huit ans, mais il gérait sa vie comme un grand. Il s’était acheté deux colts avec des caisses de munitions et une canne épée à tête d’aigle. Un jour, alors qu’il reconduisait une bande de bandits chez le shérif, il retrouva Sarah par hasard. Et le 21 mars 1863, Sarah et Ratle se marient à la mairie de Benton City. Ils coulent des jours heureux et dans le cœur des deux ratons laveurs résonne milles et une chanson. Le temps passe et la rué vers l’or chamboule toute la ville. Tous les habitants sont partis dans les rocheuses afin de trouver des pépites.

Lorsque Sarah vit rentrer à la maison Ratle avec des énormes pépites plein les pattes, elle sauta de joie. Ratle dépensa un peu d’argent pour la restauration d’un vieux château appartenant à sa famille sur une colline au-dessus de la ville, et un peu pour la réparation de sa ferme où il s’y installa en décembre 1863 avec sa femme. Début janvier 1864, Ratle est heureux d'apprendre que Sarah est enceinte, mais malheureusement le 12 janvier 1864, trois bandits assassinent sa femme tandis qu’il est au travail.

En apprenant la mort de Sarah avec son enfant dans le ventre, Ratle était complètement détruit, cependant il enterra sa femme dans le cimetière de son château. Puis il retourna habiter à Benton City, pour oublier il fréquentait souvent le saloon. Il partait aussi à la recherche de trésors perdus un peu partout dans le monde, comme dans les temples mayas, les ruines égyptiennes, ou encore dans les souterrains cachés.

Ses recherches lui ont rapporté beaucoup de richesses qu’il partageait avec les démunis, sa générosité faisait de lui un personnage unique. Mais le 4 mai 1865, un aristocrate s’installe près de la ville, il s’appelle Georges Coles. Inutile de préciser que Ratle a déjà vingt ans et le déteste déjà, du fait qu’il bâtit des usines partout et adore détruire les forêts. La guerre de sécession éclate hélas et Georges Coles reconvertit ses usines pour produire des armes de guerres.

Ratle lui, se retrouve enrôlé dans l'armée américaine pour affronter les sudistes. C’est qu'après la guerre qu'il revint à Benton City sain et sauf pour reprendre son travail. Mais il se rendra vite compte que Georges Coles avait pris possession de la mairie et corrompu la cavalerie pour la mettre à son service. C’est ainsi que les deux protagonistes s’affronteront à chaque fois, à bord d’un train en route, dans un saloon ou encore dans les usines « Coles industry ». Ratle détruira toute les usines de Georges Coles et vaincra son armée le 4 avril 1867. Georges restera cependant invaincu, mais leurs nombreux combats resterons dans l'histoire, malgré les défaites récurrentes de ce dernier.

Ratle continuera de vivre des aventures un peu partout sur le globe, poursuivi par Georges Coles et sa bande. Comme il ne peu pas vieillir, Ratle a toujours vingt ans et continuera à traverser les époques en gardant le même âge. Que ce soit durant la belle époque, la première guerre mondiale, les années folles ou même la seconde guerre mondiale, il gardera son courage et son héroïsme et restera à jamais un héros ayant marqué son histoire.

Certains disent que Georges Coles et son frère Lathames Coles auraient reçus le même sortilège que Ratle, car ils seraient encore en vie. Aujourd’hui Ratle passe un peu de temps dans son château, il n'as jamais aimé le modernisme et ne s'est pas adapté à notre technologie actuelle, cependant il as traversé tellement d'époque qu'il possède une sagesse hors du commun. Même à notre époque actuelle, il continue ses aventures et ses voyages, bravant les dangers et combattant les malfrats des Coles afin de dénicher d’autres trésors enfouis.

Il a toujours porté ses habits habituels : Un chapeau australien avec un trou causé par une balle sur le côté ou un chapeau melon noir pour les festivités, sa chemise blanchâtre et son veston gris avec sa montre à gousset accrochée, son vieux pantalon coupé au niveau des genoux, sans oublier ses bottes en cuirs et leurs éperons en or. Il a notamment conservé son costume queue de pie et sa canne à pommeau pour les soirées ainsi que son colt et sa canne épée.

Ratle Snacke aura lutté pendant des années contre les complots des frères Coles et combattu leurs sbires, il a toujours ce regret dans son cœur, celui de ne pas avoir vu le visage des tueurs qui ont assassinés sa femme et ses parents. Cependant, il reste un personnage comique et burlesque dans son quotidien, le rire et le bonheur qu’il procure au personnes qui écoutent ses histoires lui ont fait oublier le mal qui lui rongeait le cœur.

Hyperallergic: The Broken Promises of American Indian Treaties, Sewn onto Quilts

This past fall, a broad swath of artists created a new body of overtly political art in support of the uprising at Standing Rock, as Hyperallergic reported in November. For the past three years, however, artist Gina Adams has been at work on a slower, softer form of protest: by sewing select text from the American Indian Treaties onto antique quilts, she’s articulated the deception and violence used to marginalize Native Americans in the formation of the United States. Among these Broken Treaty Quilts is the 1868 Treaty of Fort Laramie — the agreement that defined the Great Sioux Reservation, which originally encompassed the entire Western half of South Dakota, including Standing Rock.

“Most all of [the more than 370 treaties] have been broken, in many different forms,” Adams said in an interview. “The language in all of them is very contrived and very confusing. The words turn on themselves.” Alluding to such unintelligibility, the appliquéd letters in her quilts are hand-cut from calico, and are not always immediately legible.

Beyond the treaties’ intentionally obscure wording, many of the promises within them have been broken by the US over the centuries. Adams offered, “Treaties were broken almost immediately with no allotments of financial payment and promised food stores and hard goods of fabric, clothing, and buildings promised to be built.” She also indicated the Lone Wolf vs. Hitchcock decision of 1903, which allowed, and continues to allow, US law to break with individual treaty articles.

Benign in appearance, the quilts are subversive in their hybrid identity as documents and textiles — a form broadly considered a staple of American (and particularly European American) folk art. It should not be overlooked that the blanket, in general, was an object weaponized by colonizers who used them as vehicles for spreading disease.

Adams is a descendant of both indigenous and colonial Americans. Her grandfather was Ojibwe, and was forcefully enrolled in the Carlisle Indian Industrial School — an assimilationist boarding school for Native Americans — at the age of eight. Because her grandfather passed on the Ojibwe names of Adams’s ancestors, she was able to find records of them while working in 2015 as a Smithsonian Artist Research Fellow. She also traced her lineage back to John Adams, the second US President.

“I’ve always had these two sides within me,” said Adams, “the inherited trauma of my American Indian ancestors, and also the colonizers, the founders of our country.”

Adams first studied the American Indian treaties in depth while in graduate school, though she did not complete her first quilt until several years later, in 2014. The work emerged from her 2013 Basketball Assimilation Banners. On one side of each of the seven banners are phrases such as “Inherited Memory” and “Blood Trauma,” gleaned from conversations with Native American students enrolled at Haskell Indian Nations University. On the opposite side of each banner is an image of an Indian Peace Medal — objects that are, like the treaties, specious for their ultimate emptiness.

A month after completing the Assimilation Banners, Adams purchased an antique quilt while visiting her mother in Massachusetts. That night, she said, she dreamed of inscribing it with a treaty. “Once I started placing letters on the quilt,” Adams said, “I felt like I really had something that could have a political voice, perhaps make change, and also speak to the duality of my heritage.”

Currently, five of Adams’s 16 completed quilts are on view in Its Honor is Here Pledged at Colorado’s Naropa University, where she is in residence. Throughout the course of the exhibition, she has offered weekly readings from the treaties, wrapping herself in the corresponding quilt — “language over language over language,” she called it. She hopes to eventually create a quilt for every recorded treaty.

“My work is both a political statement and an apology,” Adams said. “Inherited trauma is real. We have a lot of healing to do, and we can’t do it alone. We have to do it collectively.”

Brad vs. the Book: Fade or follow Arizona in rematch with UCLA?

Slaying the sportsbook is a monstrous task. Some days bettors take up residence in a penthouse suite. Other times, they curl up in the nearest ditch, shirtless. In an attempt to avoid complete destitution, I will post my picks, whether profitable or penniless, through the NCAA tourney. Check out Saturday’s selections below:

Florida (23-5) at Kentucky (23-5)

When the SEC behemoths squared off earlier this month in Gainesville Florida busted out the paddle and spanked Kentucky 88-66. At that time, however, Gators center John Egbunu sported a healthy knee. One torn ACL later and with revenge and a regular season title on the mind for Big Blue Nation, a different scenario may play out.

Florida has badgered opponents defensively in conference. It’s forced turnovers on 21.2 percent of opponent possessions and surrendered a mere 0.92 points per possession. Equally deadly on the opposite end, particularly from distance (37.8 3PT%), the Gators are chomping. Even sans Egbunu and with leading scorer Canyon Barry severely limited by an ankle injury, they roasted South Carolina earlier in the week. KeyVaughn Allen, Devin Robinson and Chris Chiozza rose to the occasion.

Conversely, Kentucky hasn’t exactly impressed. Yes, the ‘Cats are riding the crest of a five-game winning streak, but on offense they’ve slumbered through multiple halves. The first stanza of the Missouri game was a prime example. In their past four contests, they’ve averaged an unappealing 1.05 points per possession. Specifically, Malik Monk is two-for-his-last-10 from three. If not for their unyielding defense, they would be tumbling in the ranks.

The visitors may be bruised, but their toughness and resolve should keep the rematch competitive.

Smart money says throw a few greenbacks on the Gators.

Fearless Forecast: Kentucky 79 Florida (+4) 76

UCLA (25-3) at Arizona (25-3)

LaVar Ball is that Little League father who relentlessly heckled his kid for under-performing. Though his “Lonzo is better than Steph Curry” claim is arrogant nonsense, he, in a way, has a point. His son is a very special player.

The Lonzo-led Bruins’ efficiency is equal to that of a fast food drive thru. Tops in the nation averaging 1.25 points per possession, they shoot over 41 percent outside and 60-plus percent inside the arc. T.J. Leaf and Thomas Welsh, at 6-foot-10 and 7-feet respectively, are uniquely lethal from mid-range. Allow them to square up along the peripheral and it’s two points seemingly 90 percent of the time. Couple that with UCLA’s suddenly respectable defense (0.97 points per possession allowed last five) and it’s starting to check all the boxes.

On the other end, Arizona has suffered just one loss since early December. Thanks to its staunch defense, it has allowed a lowly 31.3 percent from beyond the arc and 0.99 points per possession. When attacking, the Wildcats are productive from downtown (40.0 3PT%) and twist daggers at the free throw line. Having Allonzo Trier on the floor has greatly enhanced their scoring prowess.

Arizona curb-stomped the Bruins 96-85 at Pauley back in late January, Trier’s first game back from a prolonged hiatus. In that contest, it dominated the paint and piled up 1.31 points per possession. This time around, in Tucson, expect more of the same. Dusan Ristic, Chance Commanche and Finnish wunderkind Lauri Markkanen are simply too difficult for UCLA to neutralize.

Fearless Forecast: Arizona (-3) 87 UCLA 81

Baylor (23-5) at Iowa St. (18-9)

What happened to Baylor? Worshiped by college basketball enthusiasts for a large chunk of the season, it has fallen on tough times. On the wrong side in four of their last seven, the once nearly invincible Bears, who showcased an obscene profile days ago, are entering hibernation, raising questions about their NCAA tournament longevity.

Despite its struggles, Baylor is still one of the more brutish interior teams in the country. Jo Lual-Acuil, Terry Maston and Jonathan Motely, who plays with the energy of a ticked off grizzly, attack the rim, generate plentiful second-chance opportunities and body up defensively. Their dynamite execution is why the Bears rank top-10 nationally in offensive rebounding percentage and defensive efficiency. Turnovers, however, have too often been a bugaboo.

Flip side, Iowa St. is Baylor’s antithesis. The Cyclones are disadvantaged on the glass, but, due in large part to Monte Morris’ handles, rarely turn the ball over and are spectacular from three (39.1 3PT%). They fell by two earlier this season in Waco. But recall in that near upset they overcame a sizable rebounding disparity (28-to-47) by knocking down 10 treys while posting a 16:5 assist-to-turnover split.

Legend tells us Hilton Coliseum is a magical place where giants fall. Considering Baylor’s recent troubles, particularly defending the arc (8.9 threes allowed last seven), bank on Iowa St. to wave the wand.

Robbers, Muggers, Etc.

If you get called to stop a mugger, robber, etc., then instead of dispatching the police and having to wait there or picking up a cop and watching him/her chase him around, you can simply land on top of the criminal and it will kill him. Don’t worry, you won’t loose points for hurting another sim, you’ll gain points. Now, if the criminal is on a hill and you can’t land on him, then you lower your altitude so its almost touching the ground and go foward and make a sharp turn away from the crimal and the blades will get him. Pretty cool, huh? NOTE: you may have to do it a few times before the helicopter will actually hit him.

Handstand

Use the cheat code to turn into a dog. Then pick up a Medevac and he’ll do a handstand.

Time Of Day

While playing a game, press [Ctrl] + D to toggle between day and night.

Get Quick Cash

Enable the Copter Select code. Go to the catalog screen and sell your Schwiezer. Press 5 and click on another copter. Then go back to the Schwiezer and you will have another one ready to sell. Repeat this code until you have the amount of money that you want. (This code works the same way for other copters)

Chase A UFO

Enable the “Fly a Commanche” code and fly around. A UFO should eventually appear in the game.

Fly A Commanche

Enable the “Copter select” code. Then, return to the hanger and press 1 through 9 in order at the copter catalog. Exit the hanger and walk around to one of the sides. A green Commanche with machine guns will be available.

While playin’ a game, press control, alt, x, then enter “I’m the CEO of McDonnell Douglas”. You should here a sound. Go to the chopper catalog and enter 3. Leave and if you did it right there will be an Apache outside the hanger. Note: use the Missiles and guns by pressing M and Space.
