Do you like TTRPGS? Do you like WOF? Do you like participating in dice induced madness????
hi !! so, for the past year, I've been working on a project called All Dragons No Dungeons (now titled Talons of Power to avoid overlap with advanced dnd), a playable wof ttrpg. ADND is reaching. something close to playtestable, which I'm ridiculously excited about. But! I would love some feedback and general people to share this rambles with in a format other than tumblr, bc this platform. does not favor confusing ramblings. So I'm making a discord server !! This will be for:
Testing out the character creation
polishing up formatting (pls help me get out of google docs)
Workshopping the actual mechanics
Sharing tabletop projects and stories
General WOF shenanigans
roleplay perhaps? 👀

hi friends! i hope you're doing well :) with all the great big changes to larkin, I'm putting in a final call for beta-testers and readers for both the five chapter demo-version of larkin to be released on April 29th, 2024 and the final version of larkin to be released on April 29th, 2025.
apologies I'm putting out another form, the first call went through and ran into some creator-error as a lot of the contact information got muddled, so i wanted to put forth a new call hoping to hear from testers old and new. I'm looking for about 25-30 players, as Larkin has grown significantly in chapters (20+ chapters) with several major plot routes and romance routes added, so I need a lot of thoughts and feedback on it.

Larkin: Resurrection is the first in a series of text-adventure games that relies heavily on player choice. A vampire western, the game takes place in the fictional town of Larkin, Nevada, where you the player step into the shoes of the player character--or The Preacher. The Preacher, apprentice to the prolific vampire hunter, Wyatt Abrams, and one of the last remaining survivors of the Vampire-Hunting Cult, The Abrams Family, is suddenly thrust into the position of Town Preacher for Larkin. Demons from the players past seem to chase the Preacher--only made worse when the local mine explodes--and you're at the center of the conspiracy.   Larkin is rated 18+ for themes of gore, violence, religious trauma and sexual implicity.  The demo of the game will be released, April 29th 2024, with the slated release for the final version of the game, April 29th of 2025. Once betas are selected, the demo version of the game will be sent to players April 1st, 2024 -- testers will have one month to go through the text and collect feedback.  Playtesters and beta-readers will be tasked with playing through and reading the content of the game, testing for coding errors, and giving thoughts/feedback on their personal experiences with the text of the game. Testers will be selected based on experience, and willingness to explore different avenues and choices of the game.

I've occasionally seen this common bug in several games where a character gets stuck in what seems to be the center of the map, doing a T pose. Is this is a common output of several different types of errors? If so, have you ever hidden the origin of the map under a hill, or made it hidden to the player somehow, so bugs like that are not spotted, even if they occur?

You're right - the T-pose (or its cousin the A-pose) is usually the default pose we put a model in when a particular pose or animation isn't working. The T-pose exists mostly because artists can see all parts of the model by rotating, moving, and zooming the camera, so they can fix up any odd texturing issues on the model.

The purpose of using the T-pose for the default is because it is instantly and visibly recognizable to just about anyone that it doesn't belong there. We often use things like a checkerboard pattern or bright magenta/cyan colors on a cube to indicate a missing model or texture so that the game doesn't crash when it's missing an asset, but QA can immediately flag it as not working properly or using a placeholder asset. As such, we don't want to hide them - we want them to be as visible as we can so that we can fix them.

I'm running low on money, please read
So I've recently moved back into my own place after living on my parents and then my sisters couch for the last 9 months. There's been a fair few things that I've needed to buy, I've had birthdays, food and new bills etc. etc. to the point where I'm left with less than 150 until the 22nd. I'm not e-begging, I do not want your money in return for nothing
Instead I'm asking for you to hire me for something in my wheelhouse to earn the money.
Realistically I shouldn't need more than an extra 100 to last me, which would work out between 2 - 5 of these jobs (depending on their size)
I have experience and/or the knowledge to be able to do the following:
Test a Game/Website/Mobile app/Software/SaaS program 4+ years of experience as a QA Tester/Test Engineer), 2.5 of these as a sole tester on multiple projects
Voice over/voice acting work
Video editing - Podcast, Let's Play, Long-form YouTube Content, Stream Highlights
Writing and Editorial work, such as: - Expansion of notes into full works (blog post, report, essay, etc.) - Review of content drafts for grammar/readability/localisation accuracy/correct referencing styles - Resume/Cover letter creation and/or review - Transcription/Subtitling
Creation of Foley sound effects
I.T Support - Hardware + Software troubleshooting
I know that a lot of these posts are focused more so on art commissions - and my art is not good lmao - but thought it's worth shooting my shot.

Hi, I’m a 17 year old Filipino American digital illustrator and UTAU developer! Recently I wanted to take a swing at game dev, so I’ve been working on my first game, SAILOR ALICE: Alice at Sea! With my age and the threat to my motherland, I’ve been pretty worried about climate change ^^u. It’s a short light-hearted 3 hour game with 6 chapters, and in those three hours, the player gets to spend time completing side-quests and talking to NPCs to build MEMORIA FLOTSAM. The 3rd ending can only be unlocked on a second playthrough.
It’s currently not in a stable state, and is still meant to be at a stage in development where I can still make some large changes. I would really love to hear people’s thoughts, feedback, and ideas on the writing/narrative/characters/etc. The stable version will launch before August 31st as a submission to SuNoFes 2024.

Im Test 5/2025
Die Notwendigkeit zum "Auffüllen" trifft man gelegentlich bei einigen Ballons an. Steigt man in die Gondel, wird angezeigt, dass der Füllstand "leer" ist.
Was tun? In der Nähe des Ballons befindet sich meist ein Aggregat mit einem Einfüll-Filter. Da denkt man, gut, man nimmt einen Benzinkanister, stellt sich daneben auf und hat die Funktion "tanken"(blauer "X" Schalter an meinem X-Box-Controller).
Dann habe ich mich in der Nähe des Ballons aufgehalten. Keine Lösung. Aber an der Einstiegsstelle etwas rechts springt das Interface um, wenn man einen Kanister in der Hand hält. Dann erscheint die Option "Tanken". In meinem Fall war der Kanister, den ich in der Nähe des Ballons fand, aber nur wenig voll. D.h. der Ballon konnte nicht richtig hoch genug aufsteigen. Okay, dann besorgte ich mir meinen Kanister aus dem Auto. Damit war genug Treibstoff zum Auffüllen des Ballontanks gegeben.

Wenn ich mich aber richtig erinnere, musste/konnte an einer anderen Stelle mit einem Aggregat interagieren. Z.B. um einen hochgefahrenen Ballon runter zu bekommen.

Den Ballon benötigt man übrigens zur Erkundung neuer Gebiete oder als Schnellreiseziel.

aight i made the main level and gave it a few ligthing changes to try some stuff out, its a bit of a yellowish sunny vibe rn. if y'all have any tips or colours or vibes you have that would fit that would be amazing!!
its a magical spirit world so anything goes WAIT MAYBE ACTUALLY, THATS AN IDEA, THAT THE COLOUR/SKY/LIGHT FORM THE STARS CAUS HTERE IS NO SUN CHANGES WITH DIFFERENT AREA'S!!!! THAT WAY I WON'T BE STUCK TO 1 VIBE AND I CAN DO DIFFERENT SHIT FOR COMPLETALLY DIFFERENT THEME'S!!!! DONT KNOW FOR SURE IF I THINK THE STAR CONCEPT RLY WORKS ENAUGH FOR ME BUT LOREWISE ITS SUPER COOL AND THE DOOMY LIGHTS WOULD ALSO BE RLY COOL
