A 27th climate convention, and sad statistics for China
By Nassim Belhadj
From November 6th to 18th, 2022, COP27 will be held in Sharm el-Sheik on the shores of the Red Sea in Egypt. This international conference on climate change aims to solve environmental issues, particularly in polluting countries such as China. We will therefore see what the objectives of the COP 27 are and to what extent China is a polluting country.
An international conference:
The COP is an international conference on climate change bringing together 195 countries. The first edition of this grouping took place in 1995 in Berlin. Today, it takes place in Egypt. During this edition, the report will be made on the efforts of all the countries, in the fight for the climate since the last edition of the COP in 2021 in Glasgow. The main objectives of this gathering are the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions, adaptation to climate change and climate financing. All this, with the aim of limiting the rise in temperature to 2 degrees by the end of the century. However, the worst pupil of this COP will undoubtedly be China. Because it is the most polluting country in the world.

An economic and industrial boom, but pollution that goes with it:
The rise of China began in the early 1970s. With a significant acceleration in various fields such as: industry, the economy, or even urban planning. Indeed in 1975 in China there were 5 cities with more than 10 million inhabitants, in 2021 there were 33 cities with more than 10 million inhabitants. Many agglomerations have thus emerged: Shenzhen, Shanghai or even Hong Kong. Today it is customary to say that everything comes from China and for good reason. Your phone, microwave or your sweater probably comes from this country. However, all this progress and expansion comes at a cost to the planet. China is the first polluting country in the world ahead of the United States and India. The air is so polluting in some metropolises like Beijing or Chongqing. Breathing without a mask smoking equivalence 3 packs of cigarettes per day. On a global scale, 32 million tons of CO2 are released per year, China alone releases 9.9 million, or almost 1/3 alone. This country also produces 1.8 billion tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions per year.

The question of Chinese pollution will therefore most certainly be discussed, with a view to reducing pollution in this country. In order to relieve and preserve our planet.

The New Zealand climate minister, James Shaw, says “petro-states” made huge effort to “unravel” the Glasgow Pact at #COP27. Says - with a sigh - it was an achievement just to “hold the line”.

we are in dire need of some new media trend. we've done pirates, we've done cowboys; we've gone through two whole zombie revivals. aliens and space themes have basically been a constant since at least the 1950s, as have robots and evil AIs. we went pretty heavy on vampires for a while. we've also done dinosaurs, ninjas, musicals, wizards, sea creatures, ancient rome, ancient egypt, middle ages out the wazoo, entirely too much world war II, we're currently overdosing on our superhero phase, we've done monsters (misunderstood), monsters (radioactive), fake guy in the real world, real guy travels to fake world, caves & mining, vikings, what if you were really small, genre parody as a genre, sand, New York, time travel, something racist goes down in the jungle, neurodivergent detective, buddy cops, crooked cops, gangsters, bank heists in particular, kid has powers, revolt against the corporate world, portals, social insects, dragons, the British, global apocalypse, martial arts, roadtrip as self-discovery, Jesus, clones, clowns, babysitting goes wrong, demonic possession, ghosts of all kinds, talking animals, fucking with the stock market, restaurant ownership, dwarves, planes, and spies. where do we go from here. what's our next big thing

Is UNFCCC COP27 the “Implementation COP”?
The COP27 (Conference of Parties) also called the annual United Nations Climate Change Conference, began on the 6th of November at Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. The focus of this conference aim on the implementation of plans given by Glasgow and Katowice last year, following the Paris Agreement.
According to the sources, the UN climate chief addressed that leaders such as Prime Ministers, Presidents, or CEOs would be held responsible for the promises made at the UN Climate convention last year. The conference held in Egypt is concerned about the actions taken to date not being enough to withstand a global temperature rise below 1.5 degrees Celsius. Also, there have been extreme events this year, across the world that flags an urgency in action.
