If you live in the U.S. and you’re 12+, you’re eligible for the updated bivalent anti-omicron booster shot, and it should be available in your  local pharmacy.
Please reblog this post, as there’s been very little news coverage and shockingly little propagation of information about the availability of updated boosters.

#sars cov 2#covid 19#i've interacted with 4 different friends/acquaintances in the past month alone who have all been hospitalised after having a stroke#(and in one case multiple strokes)#one who i visited in hospital over the weekend had a (unmasked) nurse coughing up a lung in her room 👍#and one of them who had to undergo surgery also had to be moved to a different hospital#bc the ward they were keeping him in was full of confirmed covid patients 👍👍#idk how many times it needs to be said before it gets through people's heads but VACCINES ARE NOT ENOUGH#and encouraging ppl to rely solely on them when there are already plans to jack up the prices so you have to KEEP PAYING for boosters#for an ONGOING mass-disabling event is so laughably unrealistic and absurd and flat-out demonic#you need to mitigate the actual spread of covid by WEARING A MASK + fighting for CLEAN AIR/proper ventilation in public spaces!!!!!!#ppl are so eager to forget the whole 'break the chain of transmission' thing and how effective masking is and so this is where we're at#'i got infected and infected other ppl who might die or become permanently disabled but it's no big deal bc no one else wears a mask#so if /i/ didn't infect them someone else would have anyway so it's not my fault and really its got nothing to do with me and my choices'#if everyone is responsible then no one is responsible - that's how it works right?#it's no wonder some ppl go rabid at even the sight of someone wearing a mask and minding their own business#ppl seeking treatment for unrelated conditions/illnesses and then dying from covid caught in hospitals#due to lack of npis/basic mitigation measures - no regulations no accountability#we truly live in a hell (''new normal'') of our own making#anyway none of this is new news at all i mostly thought it might be good to share the info graphic abt signs of stroke#covid has been given free reign and chances are increasing as to how likely you'll encounter it happening to someone you know at some point#also heart attacks and pots and alzheimer's etc etc etc

Pandemics don’t go away because people get bored with them. And COVID-19 has shown an unusual ability to adapt to our defenses against it. It is certainly not “just the flu” as some slackers and anti-vaxxers foolishly claim.
Researchers have discovered that the Omicron BA.2 subvariant can produce brain inflammation.
New research on the Omicron subvariant of the coronavirus has suggested the pathogen could be changing how it attacks the human body - shifting from infecting respiratory systems to increasingly targeting the brain. Researchers from Australia and France found BA.5 - the coronavirus subvariant driving what is now the world's biggest surge of infections in China - did much more severe damage to mouse brains and cultured human brain tissues than the previous BA.1 subvariant, leading to brain inflammation, weight loss and death. The findings challenge the common belief that viruses usually evolve to become less pathogenic. "Compared with BA. 1, we found that a BA.5 isolate displayed increased pathogenicity in K18-hACE2 mice with rapid weight loss, brain infection and encephalitis, and mortality. In addition, BA.5 productively infected human brain organoids significantly better than BA. 1," a manuscript of the research said.
The bivalent boosters from Pfizer and Moderna provide improved protection against BA.5.
New Covid boosters work better against infection than previous shots, CDC finds
The first real-world data on the new omicron vaccines find that they are better at preventing symptomatic Covid infections than the earlier doses, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday.
The findings fortify messaging from public health officials that the new shots, from Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna, should provide people with the best protection against Covid this winter, according to the CDC report.
Both Pfizer’s and Moderna’s new boosters target BA.4 and BA.5, along with the original coronavirus strain, in a single dose.
If you plan to attend a crowded New Year’s celebration, it’s a good idea to get the bivalent booster now.

Make your voice heard and ask the CDC to:
Recommend updated COVID vaccines for all ages AND
Strengthen our vaccine drive by recommending more frequent boosting (at least every six months) and more frequent updates to the vaccines.
Submit comment to CDC
CDC’s ACIP Meeting Information (Including how to register to make an Oral Public Comment): https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/acip/meetings/index.html
Vaccination is a mainstay of a multilayered approach to COVID, providing protection against both acute disease and Long COVID. The current annual approach is inappropriate, as COVID transmission does not show a seasonal pattern. Under the current “simplified schedule,” far too many people are left without adequate protection as vaccine efficacy wanes significantly four to six months following vaccination. A more frequent booster approach will also lower barriers in vaccination for people at high risk of severe consequences of COVID infection.

So remember the random guy in Glass Onion? Somebody mentioned that he's the symbol for covid still being around though ignored.
At the ending, Blanc was hanging out with him, and I'd like to think that means Blanc got Covid.

Dear Gus & Magnus,
Mom and Gus got a COVID booster shot today. I need one too -- I'm way overdue. It's weird that we had this global pandemic where over a million people died in the United States, and now COVID just feels like another catastrophic thing happening in the background of our lives that barely registers a blip on our daily radar. Like another war on the other side of another ocean.
Dad.
Little Rock, Arkansas. 8.3.2023 - 2.35pm.

I was going to get the COVID-19 booster released in September, but now with Novavax becoming available, I am not sure what to do.
Do I get both or just Novavax?
(If it makes a difference, I'm fully vaccinated and twice boosted, though the last one seems like a while ago. I had a flu shot last month.)
I've tried searching online, but so far, I haven't been able to find anything about this situation. Any help would be appreciated!

American Tumblr concert peeps, especially MCR Fans; can I get some help here? I'm trying to figure out what my chances are of avoiding covid, as a fully vaxxed and doubled boostered person possibly going to an indoor MCR concert.
How many of y'all have been to concerts and got covid? Which state were you in?
What was your vaxxed status ( one shot, fully vaxxed, fully vaxxed and one boostered, fully vaxxed and double boostered) and did you wear a mask??
What was your venue like? indoor or outdoor? And where were you located in the venue (boxes, nose bleeds, pit, standing, etc)? Comment or reblog with comment :)!
For those of you who didn't catch covid, the same questions apply :>!
