LET'S PLAY A FEW
pairing: Zhou Guanyu x Streamer! Reader
word count:
i have been cooking this up in my brain for so long now, like it has been weeks that i've been meaning to writea guanyu fanfic and now here it is yippie also i wrote this because guanyu is very dear to me and i am just gutted that he wont be racing next year
The stream was alive with the low hum of background music and the click-clack of Y/N’s keyboard. Her Tuesday night streams were a familiar routine for her viewers—three hours of CSGO, now smoothly transitioning into Valorant. She’d solo queued, half-focused on the game, half-focused on her chat. It was a relaxed vibe tonight, her soft voice filling the gaps as she responded to questions.
“Y/N, who’s your favorite agent?” one viewer asked.
“Hmm, depends on the day,” Y/N mused, squinting at the game. “But I’m leaning toward Jett lately. Fast, flashy… plus, I’m a sucker for knives.” Her words were accompanied by the sharp sound of her clicking through weapons.
Her team switched to defense. She’d been holding B site alone and wasn’t too concerned. “It’s always quiet until it’s not,” she muttered, eyes narrowing as she scanned the entry points.
And then it wasn’t quiet.
The enemy team pushed hard—four, no, five enemies storming the site. Y/N’s demeanor shifted instantly. She stopped talking mid-sentence, leaning forward, her entire focus honed in. Chat knew what was happening. They’d seen this mode before.
One.
Two.
Three clean headshots in rapid succession. Her chat erupted.
“SHE’S COOKING,” someone spammed.
“Demon time activated,” wrote another.
Four down, one left. Y/N’s crosshair tracked, and with one swift flick—the fifth player dropped.
“ACE!” Chat’s excitement exploded, emotes and all-caps filling the screen.
“Nice ace,” a voice said, calm and steady. Y/N’s body went rigid as a soft kiss landed on the crown of her head. Her breath caught in her chest.
Slowly, as if she couldn’t believe it, she turned her head to see Zhou Guanyu standing there, his face calm as ever, hands in his sweatpants pockets. His eyes met hers with an easy grin, one he’d worn countless times but somehow always made her heart stutter.
“Are you solo queuing right now? Want me to hop on?” he asked like it was the most normal thing in the world.
Y/N’s mouth opened, but it took her a moment to find the words. The situation wasn’t particularly funny, but a wave of giddy laughter poured out of her—that helpless, uncontrollable kind.
“I’m… I’m streaming right now, Bǎobǎo,” she said through breaths of laughter, wiping at her eyes.
Guanyu’s eyes flickered toward her monitor, realizing what had just happened. His gaze shifted to the camera. “Oh. Hi, chat,” he said with a casual wave like it was any other Tuesday night.
Pandemonium.
Chat’s messages scrolled too fast for Y/N to read. Everyone was freaking out. The calm, private nature of their relationship had only left the fans guessing. Speculation had been rampant, but this? This was confirmation.
“NO WAY THAT’S GUANYU.”
“WTF OKAY BOYFRIEND REVEAL.”
“Bǎobǎo?????????”
Y/N’s face was red as she tried to focus on the chat. “Alright, alright, calm down,” she said, fanning herself dramatically. She glanced up at Guanyu, still grinning like a fool. “You’re unbelievable.”
Guanyu’s only response was to tilt his head, his grin never wavering. “You’re the one who’s blushing,” he teased before walking off toward the kitchen.
Three years earlier, Guanyu had been just another viewer in Y/N’s chat—a regular with a verified checkmark that made him stand out. People recognized his name, but Y/N didn’t at first.
“Zhou Guanyu…” she read aloud, squinting at the name in her chat. “That’s… a Formula 1 driver, right? Chat, you’re messing with me.”
“No, it’s actually him!” chat exploded.
Sure enough, he’d donated with a message: “Big fan of your streams. If you’re ever down for games, I’m in.”
Y/N’s eyes went wide. “No way that’s real,” she muttered, half-laughing. But over the next few weeks, his presence became a regular occurrence. Guanyu’s name appeared in her chat, his playful comments lighting up the screen.
Then one day, he sent a Discord invite.
“Let’s play a few,” his message read.
He wasn’t what she expected. His sense of humor was sharp but subtle. He wasn’t loud, but he was confident. Their first few games were filled with banter and easy laughter. Somewhere along the way, it stopped being just "streamer and viewer" and became… more.
Soon, he’d hop into her streams without warning. His voice was instantly recognizable. Their interactions sparked thousands of clips on Twitch. Fans flooded her social media with theories. “Are they together?” became the constant question. They never confirmed or denied it, and after a while, the frenzy died down.
But when Guanyu’s race schedule allowed, he’d appear on her stream. Sometimes he’d just be a voice in the background, sometimes he’d play with her on-stream, and sometimes, like today, he’d forget she was streaming entirely.
Back in the present, Y/N’s chat was still in shambles. Guanyu’s sudden appearance had sent them into a spiral, and Y/N’s notifications were pinging nonstop. She’d read a few messages aloud, fighting the urge to laugh all over again.
“‘Tell him to come back’… No, he’s probably playing with Sweet Corn right now,” she joked, glancing over her shoulder.
“Does he call you Bǎobǎo?’” she read, the grin on her face growing wider. “Yeah, yeah, he does that sometimes. It’s…” She trailed off, her cheeks burning again. “Don’t worry about it.”
A few minutes later, Guanyu wandered back in with a bowl of fruit in hand, offering her a piece of mango. She took it with a raised brow. “You’re a menace, you know that?” she said, still half-laughing.
“Mmm,” Guanyu hummed in response, popping a piece of mango into his mouth. “You love it.”
“Yeah, yeah, I do,” she said softly, her voice quieter this time, almost just for him.
Chat caught every word.

Went to a Casual Hema tournament that was based on Gun Game in CSGO. We stared with spears and each time we scored a hit we down graded our weapons to something shorter. It went from spear to longsword, sword and buckler, side sword and then dagger. Here's a couple highlights from my first match :D

its just a little humorous to me that with the release of cs2 certain weapon skins have changed a little and now all the csgo e-traders are upset with how their inventories are devaluing because of color changes and texture misalignments

i maintain my idea of like. battlefield / moba / csgo style fps with an item buy system where you not only buy your weapons and gadgets but also have the ability to buy shitloads of movement options/tech from other games. can increase your momentum cap, lower friction, the ability to bhop, blj, do mirrors edge shit etc.

Gamer Tokyo Revengers Headcanons
A/N: This is mostly Toman with some cameos from Shinichiro & Hanma LMAO. I hope you enjoy! Shout out to my amazing boyfriend who participated in this conversation with me. <3 I love you. -----
-Kazutora one time scammed Baji in Meep City by offering a “legendary for legendary'' trust trade and Baji ended up getting temporarily banned from ROblox text and voice chat for the things he was screeching.
-Mikey and Draken don’t play Roblox (Draken will if Emma wants him to though). They’re probably on Val or something. Mikey blows up team/party voice chat literally the entire match while Draken only says one thing; “gg” at the end of the game LMAO
-Kazutora, Baji, and Chifuyu have a Minecraft server and the stuff that goes on in that server should not be spoken of, but can be summed up with one event; the piston dungeon.
-one time, Mikey spent the night at Baji’s house and had access to his PC. Mikey got on the BajiTrio server and blew up Kazutora’s house and that’s when all the beef started. (Shinichiro is alive and well in this universe!!)
-Mitsuya doesn’t game much, but when he does it’s because Luna and Mana want to play. Accordingly, he’s goated at games like Fashion Famous (pro model) and is pretty popular in any Royale High server he joins LMAO
-Hanma plays CSGO. And he’s reaaaal toxic on the game LMAO. Can see him 100% being one of those “drama” YouTubers who talk shit online while playing various video games. (Think Old Leafy or some shit.)
-Smiley and Angry are an inseparable Fortnite duo. Angry is overly nice and courteous, often handing off his really good weapons to his teammates when they ask for them, while Smiley is literally being toxic the ENTIRE time. Think of him saying stuff like, “Dude, you’re so ass.”, “Imagine whiffing every shot LMAOOOO”, and “BROOOOOOOOOO we lost because you suck!” at every given moment of a match. Accordingly, not a lot of people play with them so they usually fuck around in duos.
-Shinichiro grew up on OG Nintendo and struggles to really understand newer games because he stopped playing when school + work got busy for him so he didn’t have much time. He tries his best though when Mikey wants to play games with him, even if his best is pretty mid.
-Yuzuha and Hakkai play a lot of open-world RPGs, like Zelda, Genshin, and Star Rail. They especially like Genshin because they can play together. Hakkai mains Yelan and freezes up literally every time she says one of her voice lines. But Yuzuha is really into Yae Miko (or really any electro woman.)
-Emma mainly plays cute mobile games like Love:nikki, Hello Kitty World, or Happy Camper. She likes being able to make cute outfits/sets. She got a Switch so she could play Minecraft and ACNH, but she got into these games because of the PE edition and Happy Camper.
-Emma actually recommended ACNH to Mikey, who ended up getting addicted during COVID and literally could not peel himself away from his Switch for the entirety of Quarantine. But was he simply docile while playing? No, of course not. He was insanely aggressive with Tom Nook.
-Mikey actually forced Mitsuya to make Toman jackets in Animal Crossing. (Mitsuya also made all the boys’ MC skins.)

Well well my dear theodoric. Can mutt sit on ur lab and watch u play csgo/roblox?🤤
Oh, fuck yeah, she sits on my lap while I game. Where else would she go? Her legs are all tangled up in mine, back pressed right into me, warm and twitchy like she’s trying to behave. Headset slipped halfway off so she can hear the chaos, feel the way they start losing their shit the second I wreck their team.
And that’s when I hand it off. That’s when I give them something to really cry about. She doesn’t even play nice. She leans in, voice all sugary and smug like she’s petting a rabid dog, and goes, “Aww, did big man lose again?” Or, “You okay, sweetheart? Want me to kiss it better?” And boom, instant meltdown. These dudes are not built for it. I swear to god, it’s like handing a toddler a lit cigarette and watching them implode.
And then the mic warriors come out—start dropping slurs, asking if she’s single, barking like they’re doing something. I don’t mute a damn thing. I want her to hear that. I want her to feel every pathetic drip of it. Because at the end of the day? She’s still in my lap. Wearing my headset. She’s not there to have fun. She’s there to be my secret weapon, my trophy, my little war crime in a hoodie. And every time they scream, I win.

I'm honestly chill with most of canon, but if I were to ever write something with Russia in it, that man is going to be completely different. He'd be a csgo streamer who loves weapons and enjoys self-depricating humor, vodka, Cuban cigars, and online trolling. He'll isolate himself from others until he's forced to interact with people. And even then, they'll be brief and awkward interactions. Of everything, though, his greatest passion would be the arts. His home would be full of literature, paintings, sculptures, records, etc.

At Hellocs2 CS2/CSGO (Counter-Strike2) trading involves the exchange of in-game items, primarily skins, between players. Skins are cosmetic items that change the appearance of weapons in the game. They don't affect gameplay but are highly sought after for their aesthetic value and rarity. Players can trade skins through the Steam Community Market, third-party websites, or directly with each other.

i sunk four thousand hours and hundreds of dollars into team fortress 2. i'm not gonna sit back and do nothing as valve ignores it further. crates are now filled with cosmetics from the steam workshop themed dartboard. the head miscs can't even be unusual and the only workaround was using ugly full head items and a bug to wear multiple effects.
the skins aren't there for new things to look at theyre there to add more money to valve's wallet. skins are only good in factory new and you want one with a strange counter, so guess what? you're either paying a shitload or gambling and paying a shitload anyway. the skins are picked out by a nonce with no sense for what makes tf2 tf2. this is still better than what the hats
new maps went from one or two maps that an entire update would center around to adding like 10 of the bastards at random because they needed another source of money in the form of map stamps that nobody buys. and there's always the maps that make you wonder if the valve guy tested the map. or even looked at it in the case of wutville.
i watched as weapon skins replaced adding new weapons. i watched as that same update ruined crates forever both with their picks and the rarity system. i had to look on in horror as mid your match was released and added a fuckload of maps that were popular for 6v6 as they fucked that up beyond measure. they added sunshine and fucked everything else.
we were wondering what valve was doing with a thumb in their ass for the year following that, and we didn't like the new halloween maps because ICS was a mapmaker on one. then jungle inferno came out and we were saying that the big update is yearly now.
and then a year came and went
and another
and another
and another
and another
and another
and ANOTHER
and we're on the 8th year of no major updates. and we've gotten fuck all. we've gotten a guy picking items blindly and the maps have become just another THING to add, and there's nothing. we've seen two entire feature length films made in source filmmaker, which is so famously bad with tf2 stuff. we've seen how much the dedicated fans love the game. and we get neglected because csgo needed to be fucked up to match with tf2 and what's next? gotta fuck up dota 2 on top?
the game is completely dead and a graveyard for non-bots on their official servers. contracts and their rewards are pretty much dead now. the only thing we have to play on are uncle dane's tryhard servers for people that scream at new players, bad players, or people not taking the game as seriously as a bomb threat. and all the fun is gone. and if there's a single sniper player on their team then it's just like what casual is like now.
valve managed to have given csgo enough changes such that when the source code was leaked that's a pretty big difference from what we have. we're still on the same major update. we're still on jungle inferno. the version that was leaked and the version we have are only differentiated by how many artstyle breaking hats and war paints and dogshit maps there are.
MODERN TF2 PLAYERS, WE USED TO HAVE A CONSISTENT UPDATE CYCLE. BIG SUMMER UPDATE. BIGGER HALLOWEEN UPDATE. END OF YEAR GAME REBALANCE. EVERY YEAR FROM 2008 ALL THE WAY TO 2015.

what would you do
If it were up to me, I would do 3 things. 1. Move every single CSGO: Weapon Case 1 into my inventory. 2. Move 16% of the US' GDP into my bank account. 3. Make Hidetaka Miyazaki release Dark Souls 2 2.

The battlefield competition, Delta Force, coincides with a new chapter with changing weapons of the game
Whether the battlefield, EFT, Rainbow Six Siege or COD, weapons on their own are never enough. The world of multiple modern players is frightening-despite a lot of experience with 1.6 and CSGO, I still get a blur in Counter-Strike 2, and I do not try the finals. You need more than just a good goal these days. It relates to reactions and knowledge and mixing your gun with the right equipment. One…

game-design thought: when i first tried making the switch from tf2 to csgo, ironically, even tho tf2 is taken as a whole the much more complex game, because i wasnt thinking in "number of things you can do and weapons you can switch between" i was thinking in terms of how few restrictions there were. tf2 let you hop between servers and play however you wanted whereas csgo had a bunch of restrictions on what you could and couldnt do

Detailed game research - CS2
Counter Strike 2, or CS2 is a first person shooter game that has had years of different versions of it, games like CSGO, CS source and the 1.6 version were all used for this game to get where it is now. The basic goal of the game, as the terrorists you have to plant a bomb at various sites, and as the counter terrorists you need to defuse the bomb, or kill all the terrorists before they can plant the bomb.
The game features various different weapons and tools, but for now i will focus on the guns, there are 5 different types featured in the game at the moment. The pistols, SMG's, Shotguns, rifles and sniper rifles, each with their own price and kill rewards. You can get money by killing enemies, and winning rounds.
You can open the shop at the start of the round and buy these guns, you can only carry 1 pistol and 1 of any other type of gun, making you choose what guns you want to take for the situation. i like the idea of having to choose what gun you want to take for the situation, and i might make 3 weapons and you can only choose 2 to carry, making you choose every time you die, changing the gameplay for everyone. this video shows gameplay and the shop at the start of rounds.
youtube
I find this information very helpful for my research as i can use the idea of choosing what weapons to use in my game, giving players a choice when playing.
