Just something quick!! 🥺👉👈 It's Audrey Grace getting her GED diploma! GED is a test you can take as an adult if you never got to finish high school—which she couldn't, because the zombie apocalypse interrupted it. It's always bothered her a lot, and she really wants to go to university too, so then last year she was finally able to settle down in her life enough to study for this test!! And now here she is at her graduation!! This day means everything to her. 😤
Today is also her birthday which is why I wanted to draw something anyway. She's 27 now. 🥰 Happy birthday Audreyyyy!!
To check commissions availability, there's a link on my
Carrd (link in bio) and as always, feel free to dm me for questions or a price quote!
I'd also like to note... I'll be increasing my pricing to help me through the current economy, but until I build a portfolio of newer samples, these will stay my prices. I'll give an update before officially increasing my rates as well. But regardless, any support be it reblogs or commissioning me would be a huge help to me!
I think it’s incredibly unfair that people in the otherside picnic fandom regularly act like Toriko is brainless. Is she smart? Not especially. But when the other major characters that you can compare her to are a woman who is so autistic that she memorized everything about every even mildly popular scary story on the internet, a neuroscientist, and an ex-yakuza who has been dealing with the supernatural events of the otherside since the 90s, it’s unfair to her to see the disparity in knowledge and call her dumb. She could tell you more than you’d ever want to know about guns and military equipment and how to use them. But because her areas of expertise aren’t as prevalent to the story and because she’s the blonde woman who happens to know the least about the supernatural events that are main focus of the books, she gets a fandom reputation of being dumb and brainless.
Fun Breakdown Fact of the Day: while it is well known his alt mode in the generation one series is a Lamborghini Countach, I've done further research to see exactly which model he is, and I think I've got it!!
My current (& most confident) guess is the Lamborghini Countach Walter Wolf LP400. Though the manga does say he's an LP500S (and he still could be), he looks a wee bit different in the manga than he does in the cartoon (mainly referencing his reference sheets here, not toys or animation cells), and there are notable differences in the car's exterior and his design itself.
The most notable similarities that the Walter Wolf LP400 has (that the LP500S does not) with Breakdown are the circular shaped fenders and the lower placement of the front bumper. The most interesting thing I found though, that I'm not really including in the research as it's very obvious that Breakdown's paint is custom, is that the shade of blue that's on Breakdown hasn't been on any version of the Countach (1989 Anniversary Edition excluded) since the LP400, including the Walter Wolf LP400.
It would also make sense as to why Megatron would want it so bad. Dragstrip was a winning F1 race car, of course Megatron would want another! His Stunticons would need to be the best!
It never shows Breakdown's original car being taken by Rumble, but Motormaster had a different, custom paint job done after showing up there, so maybe Breakdown did as well? That, or he's a very much customized LP500S, which would probably make a bit more sense.
Although, I talk a lot here about the traditions of my paternal Czech ancestors, this year I’ve been feeling a pull towards my maternal Québécois ancestors.
On February 2, French Canadian Roman Catholics celebrate the Fête de la Chandeleur (Candlemas), honoring the day in the church calendar when Mary took the baby Jesus to the temple, by eating crêpes (thin pancakes). A traditional French Canadian proverb says "Manger des crêpes à la chandeleur apporte un an de bonheur" (Eating crêpes on Candlemas brings a year of happiness).
Eating crêpes on February 2nd also has its origins in pagan festivals. At the time, Candlemas referred to the fertility of the earth. The peasants had thus made it a habit to cook pancakes with excess flour from last year. With their round shape and golden color, pancakes symbolized the light, sun, and therefore the return of sunny days. Superstitious, they even imagined a game to bring prosperity: to blow the first pancake with the right hand with a gold coin in the left hand.
Although often overshadowed by Groundhog Day in the media, Candlemas is still celebrated in regions with strong French traditions, such as Quebec, Acadia, Louisiana, the Mississippi Valley and Maine.
