#USA to Canada
Text
Things have been chaotic.
It's been a while since i've posted anything personal on here but i am going through it.
Life has been stressful, crazy, chaotic and sad. It's been one thing after another and i don't know what else to do.
I got demoted at my job. I've been there ten years, we got a new owner last year and it has been fine up until recently. I am a loyal and hard worker but this job is draining me. I've been sick with strep, covid, had to have dental surgery and other health issues I haven't been seen or diagnosed for yet. My roomates up and dipped so i had to move back in with my parents and it is crowded as hell, and the house is falling apart. Life has been throwing shit at me and I am at my wits end.
I am also currently in a long distance relationship. He is the most wonderful, caring, funny and supportive person and he treats me right and i adore him. We are trying to figure out how to get me from the USA to Canada but it's a process. The information we've found isnt the best as far as figuring out what our actual options are. We've been trying to find someone that has gone through the vise/permanent resident process so we an see what they did and would recommend but no luck yet.
Along with my job demotion, i will be receiving a pay dock. Which i honestly cannot afford. I have bills to pay, credit cards to pay off and I am trying to save up so that I can move. I've been putting in job applications for the past two weeks but nothing has come of it yet. It's like places say they're hiring but no matter your availability or previous work background it doesn't matter, and they aren't actually hiring. It's weird. I've cut out all unecessary spending and am only paying for bills/insurance and food to eat and I am still financially struggling.
I'm trying to remain positive and hoping something will come out of it and i will get some good news soon but it's harder by the day. I'm constantly sad, stressed and anxious. I don't know what else to do.
If yall could send me all the good vibes. Or have any job ideas or recommendations. I've worked fast food and customer service for almost 11 years. I've done childcare and babysitting. House cleaning. I have a car and a license so i am able to drive to and from work etc. I'm willing to try pretty much anything. I am willing to learn new skills. I'm a quick learner once i know what to do.
also if anyone on here sees this, and knows anyone that has moved from the USA to Canada, through a work visa, or getting a job offer over there and then applying for a work visa or through express entry, or anything at all please please i would love to talk to them and ask some questions.
I know the chances of people actually reading this are small, but if you do, if you wouldn't mind sharing it, i would very much appreciate it.
If by some miracle anyone is able or would be willing to donate any extra funds at all, it would all be going to good use. It would be going to help my pay my bills, car insurance, health insurance and life needs.

Help LGBT+ Couple Find Safety in Canada
My partner and I are looking to seek asylum in Canada due to recent events (see under cut for details, TW: sensitive topics) and need assistance with finances in order to pay our bus trip. CashApp: $kinnicki
Unfortunately, we can not accept checks (electronic or otherwise) due to not having an actual bank account.
Thank you for your time and consideration! Please consider reblogging this to help get the word out further.
More info: Over the past week, my partner and I have almost been kidnapped/trafficked 4 times and have received numerous verbal threats of violence including (but not limited to) threats of murder, threats of r-pe, threats of being robbed, threats of being mugged, threats of our cats being killed, threats of people stealing our cats, etc.
Due to this, we no longer feel safe in the US (as we have seen from experience that moving locations in the country, state to state, changes nothing).

Bird identification is so fucked up in a really fun way you can’t understand until you get into it. For example, there is a type of goose called the cackling goose that looks exactly like a Canada goose except smaller and “cuter”. The cackling goose is way, way, more rare in most places than its relatively common cousin, so it’s on tons of birders life lists. Everyone wants to see a cackling (look in any bird ID group to see lots of hopeful people posting petite Canada geese). The two species regularly commingle, so sometimes a flock of those common parking lot birds will have the equivalent of a Pokémon shiny just hanging out in the middle of them.
How ridiculous and fun is that? I can never look at a big group of Canada geese without scrutinizing their ranks for an adorable little extremely rare cutie pie cackling goose. It reminds me a bit of mushroom harvesting minus the risk of death if you get it wrong

when I drew this comic 3 years ago I had NO idea how far it would reach. I'm happy to finally share a corrected version with proper abbreviations, and even MORE state names of indigenous origin ♥️
however, the goal of this comic was to inspire people to do your OWN research on indigenous history. To question everything we have been taught, and everything that has been pointedly left out. This erasure, this “forgetting”, of history is not just of the past… it is happening now. - Across so-called Canada, the US, and US-occupied islands, native women are victims of murder at 10-12x the rate of non-native people, and are the most likely to go missing without being searched for by the law. - Native reservations have the highest rates of poverty in the US, with over HALF of tribal homes with no access to clean water (with more joining this list by the year) - Native people are 6-10x more likely to be unhoused than the rest of the population, and native teens suffer suicide rates higher than any other demographic. This list of modern day genocide goes on (thank you for compiling @theindigenousanarchist <3) and yet take a look at those environmental stats!
Native people manage to do SO much for the planet as a whole - thanklessly - and with all this stacked against them. Don't even get me started on kin fighting in south america. Could you imagine if there was help? #landback is resistance to genocide, and it is the key to saving our warming earth.
So look into it and the other hashtags, cuz a cartoon goose ain't a substitute for a proper education. Love to my grandparents who always kept a map of tribal territories of turtle island on their wall, to speaking on our Tsalagi & Saponi heritage. Love & solidarity forever, happy research, and happy #indigenouspeoplesday
LANDBACK.ORG
(Also, if you care to support the artist, I'm publishing a book ! and writing another - a fantastical afroindigenous graphic novel - that I post exclusively about with tons of other art on my patreon.)

For thousands of years, Kettle Falls was a vital salmon fishing ground for the Sinixt, but early 20th-century dam construction blocked salmon migration.
Wrongfully declared extinct in Canada in 1956, the Sinixt fought for recognition and were officially acknowledged as Aboriginal Peoples of Canada in 2021.
In 2023, the U.S. government signed a $200 million agreement with a coalition of tribes, including the Sinixt, to fund an Indigenous-led salmon reintroduction program into the Columbia River system above dams in Washington.
Sinixt leaders say this project is an important effort to help right a historical wrong in the legacy that led to their “extinction” status, while many hope to one day join salmon efforts on their traditional territory in Canada.
