What exactly are police clearance certificates for Canadian immigration purposes?
Tumblr media
Best Immigration Consultancy in Mohali
A guide to police clearances and solutions for overcoming criminal inadmissibility for Canadian immigration.
Police certificates prove an immigrant's admissibility to Canada for Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
To demonstrate that they are not criminally inadmissible, each permanent resident candidate and their family members 18 years or older must complete a security clearance.
Police Clearance Certifications, also known as certificates of non-criminal activity, are required from the applicant's current country of residency and from every other nation they have lived in for more than six months since becoming 18 years old.
Best Immigration Consultancy in Brampton
Police clearance certificates are often available from law enforcement or other government organisations. The Canadian Immigration Visa Offices will waive the need to provide police clearance certificates in some instances.
Immigrants must have obtained the police certificate for the nation where the applicant resides no more than six months before application. The police certificate must have been granted following the applicant's most recent residence in a nation where they have lived for six months or more. A certified translation by a licensed translator must be provided with a certificate written in a language other than English or French.
Every application for Canadian immigration must also pass a background investigation to rule out any involvement in terrorism, subversion, or espionage. This is done to defend and preserve the peace and safety of Canadian society. To evaluate if a candidate threatens Canada's internal security, security screening judgments are based on information from all available sources that are carefully weighed. An interview will be set with the applicant to go through these results where there are security concerns. Anyone with such a threat will not be allowed entry into Canada.
There is a significant difference between the background check, which the applicant is often not actively involved in, and the police clearance certificate, which the applicant must get.
Suppose an applicant or any of their dependents are found to be criminally inadmissible. In that case, they or their dependents may have their entrance to Canada, permanently or just temporarily, as tourists, foreign workers, or international students rejected.
Best study visa consultant in Mohali
A person might be denied entry due to one of the following:
Serious Crime;
or Criminality.
Suppose you have a criminal record and are otherwise unable to enter Canada. In that case, you could be permitted to do so if the IRCC determines that you have either:
Deemed Rehabilitation
Individual Rehabilitation
You might need a Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) to enter Canada if you're visiting for a brief time.An adept immigration attorney can help you overcome criminal inadmissibility in any of these situations. Lawyers can provide a Legal Opinion Letter in support of your claim.

Scholarships in Canada for International Students
Best immigration consultancy in mohali
Tumblr media
Winning a scholarship that covers your study and living fees is one of the most convenient ways to begin your studies in Canada. Canadian institutions typically offer scholarships to students who have excelled academically. Nonetheless, your chances of receiving a Canadian scholarship are also affected by your employment and volunteer experience. Scholarships are non-repayable financial aid that is both restricted and competitive.
International students enrolling in undergraduate, master's, doctorate, post-doctoral, or certificate programmes can apply for Canadian scholarships. The Canadian government offers international scholarships in practically every academic discipline. Students from all areas are eligible for this Canada Government award for international students. Fortunately, Canadian colleges offer several scholarships, the longest of which can cover a student's tuition for up to four years.

Scholarships for International Students in Canada
 1. University of Toronto's Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship Program
International students from all over the world and international students enrolled in Canadian secondary schools are eligible for an annual scholarship from the University of Toronto. The University of Toronto's Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship Program recognises international students who thrive academically and creatively and are leaders in their institutions. The University of Toronto bestows the title Lester B. Pearson Scholars on 37 undergraduate students. The Lester B. Pearson Scholarship will cover four years of tuition, books, incidental fees, and living expenses.
To be eligible for the Pearson International Scholarship, you must satisfy the following requirements:
•              A non-Canadian or international student who requires a study permit.
•              By June, you must graduate from your senior high school.
•              You must begin your studies at the University of Toronto in September of the following year. Students currently enrolled in post-secondary education cannot be considered, nor can students who begin their studies at another post-secondary school in January next year.
2. Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award granted by the University of British Columbia
The University of British Columbia gives the Karen McKellin Foreign Leader of Tomorrow Award to international students who have excelled in their academics, leadership talents, engagement in student activities, and community service. This grant is available to international students at the undergraduate level. Your financial need determines the value of the Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award. To estimate financial requirements, the entire tuition, fees, and living costs are reduced from the financial contribution you and your family can provide each year. Your grant may be extended to three more years of undergraduate study or until you graduate.
To be nominated for the Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award, the following criteria must be met:
•              Be an international student studying in Canada with a Canadian study permit.
•              To attend UBC, you must transfer from a recognised high school or your first year of post-secondary college or another institution.
•              Meet all UBC entry criteria, including the English Language Admission Standard and general and degree-specific requirements.
•              A track record of academic success.
•              Demonstrate financial necessity that would otherwise prevent you from obtaining a UBC degree.
•              You must have graduated from high school no earlier than June, two years before the academic year you are applying.
3. Scholarships for International Students at York University
International students may apply for the Global Leader of Tomorrow Scholarships and the International Entrance Scholarships of Distinction if they wish to pursue a full-time undergraduate degree at York University. Two Global Leader of Tomorrow Awards and two International Entrance Scholarships of Distinction are given to international students by York University in Ontario more frequently than usual. The Global Leader of Tomorrow Award offers a total of $80,000 (for four years), and the International Entrance Scholarship of Distinction provides $140,000 (for four years) if international students demonstrate high academic achievement each academic year. Both scholarships are renewable for three years of full-time undergraduate study.
Incoming undergraduate students must belong to one of these faculties:
•              Liberal Arts and Professional Studies
•              Arts, Media, Performance & Design
•              Engineering
•              Education
•              Health
•              Science
•              Business
It is necessary to fulfil each of the criteria given to be considered for the top international Scholarship:
•              An international student with a study permit for Canada.
•              Have applied to one of York University's undergraduate programmes.
•              Being a York-approved student who applied straight out of high school, little more than two years after graduation, and had no prior college or university coursework.
•              Have an excellent academic record and a grade point average of at least "A" or anything close.
•              Have demonstrated leadership through volunteerism, accomplishments in the arts, athletics, other fields, etc.
•              Usually, only one student can be nominated, and the local high school must have recommended that kid.
•              A recommendation letter should be uploaded.
•              Ensure that the York application has all required papers marked as "Received."
•              The online International Student Scholarship Application must be finished per the university's deadlines.
4. Ontario Graduate Awards
International students who are motivated and wish to enrol in Master's or Doctoral degree programmes at the University of Toronto are given Ontario Graduate Scholarships yearly by the Province of Ontario and the University of Toronto. The Ontario Graduate Scholarship provides merit-based scholarships to international students from around the world and Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and protected people. Each OGS session is worth $5,000. Therefore, winners may be eligible for $10,000 or $15,000 for two or three consecutive sessions. The awarding graduating unit will always provide a third of the students' overall reward. Additionally, OGS requirements prohibit students from simultaneously holding an OGS and another government-funded award and place a lifetime cap on government-funded awards at six years.
One has to fulfil the following requirements to be eligible for an Ontario Graduate Scholarship:
•              According to section 95(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, international students who are enrolled or intend to enrol at the University of Toronto on a temporary residence visa must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected individuals (Canada).
•              Must have an overall average of at least A- (or equivalent) on all graduate courses taken or have completed two years of graduate studies at the time of application. Must have earned an A- (or equivalent) in the past two years of full-time study.
•              Be enrolled full-time at the University of Toronto in a suitable graduate programme at the graduate unit where the OGS was awarded.
•              Only have full-time employment or an OGS grant during the same academic session or award year as a scholarship from one of the organisations mentioned above.
The prerequisites mentioned above are only the absolute minimum. Graduate units may impose additional requirements for applying to, getting, or holding an OGS.
5. President's Scholarship for World Leaders at the University of Winnipeg
International students enrolling for the first time in any university's divisions are awarded the President's Scholarship for World Leaders at the University of Winnipeg. The scholarship recipients must be willing to enrol in a bachelor's or master's degree programme at Winnipeg University. All overseas applicants must further demonstrate leadership qualities and have admission averages of at least 80% or an equivalent. $5,000 is the award amount for the President's Scholarship for World Leaders. International students can utilise the Scholarship to enrol in the PACE (Professional, Applied and Counting Education) or ELP (English Language Program) programmes that best suit their goals in addition to the bachelor's and master's programmes offered at the University of Winnipeg.

Among the conditions for the Scholarship include accomplishments outside of the classroom and academic excellence. In the second, third, and fourth years at the University of Calgary, the $15,000 scholarship is renewable each year as long as the awardees maintain a 2.60 GPA over a minimum of 24.00 units in the previous autumn and winter terms. Advice for Finding Scholarships
Finding scholarships may be difficult, so it's critical to have a sense of direction so you can easily find the ones you're looking for. Scholars generally are tailored to a student's academic interests, skills, extracurricular activities, career goals, geographic location, and many other factors. The following list contains some of the best strategies for locating scholarships.
1. Check with Your Selected University
As a first step, one may either visit the university's website or get in touch with the financial assistance office of the school they wish to attend. By doing this, students can enquire about further application requirements and scholarships for overseas students. It's crucial to remember that the application for admission and scholarships are two different things.
2. Engage in networking
Everyone today belongs to a group of individuals who have similar interests. The best approach to uncover potential scholarships is by using social media or just chatting with people who share your desire to acquire a scholarship to enhance your academic career. Take advantage of the chance to find out about the scholarships that the Canadian federal and provincial governments, private foundations, and not-for-profit organisations are offering.
3. Get in touch with your academic counsellor
Students may find resources for further information and assistance, explore their academic interests, and create study plans suitable for their educational goals with the help of academic advisers. Why not use the fact that you have unfettered access to the school counsellor as a student and utilise this opportunity to discuss this issue productively? If your institution has a dedicated office for students studying overseas, find out what resources are offered there.
With the assistance of our knowledgeable staff, we can guide you through the prerequisites, document gathering, and application procedure.
Brampton Immigration Consultancy helps you make the best case for your study visa so that the evaluating officer won't have any questions about the sincerity of your application.
