isla sat at a small table, her fingers tapping against the edge of her coffee cup. the cafe was quieter than usual, a good thing— seeing as she's garnered quite a lot of attention after being appointed president. the news had spread fast in the sports world, and she couldn't help but notice the curious glances coming from across the room. but luckily, when the male walked through the door, his presence distracted the woman from everything else happening around her. ❛ joe macmillan, ❜ she stood to greet him as he approached the table, hand held out for him to take. this wasn't their first meeting, but it felt improper of her not to shake his hand still. ❛ thanks for meeting me. i went ahead and ordered you a coffee... i hope black with a dash of milk is fine? ❜ she paused, glancing at the cup before meeting his gaze again. ❛ if not, i don't mind ordering another. ❜

"has anyone told you that you're a genius? truly. smartest man i've ever met." and almost like an annoyed cat, she decides to knock a few books off of his shelf. it's not that he had anything to do with what set her off, per se, but simply that he is in the vicinity and annoying. usually, she can handle joe just fine. but today?

"let me guess, i should just detach myself. become above all feeling, because uh, anger is stupid, and so is being sad, and so am i." he has not said any of this. she's just really got some wind behind her sails now. "how's that working for you, joe?"

alice always finds herself dragged to some sort of social gathering by someone. not by friends per se, she doesn't have those. just people who've woven their way into her life. she is good at this, properly trained and everything. even if there is a limit to it. at the first second she can slip away, she's out on the balcony, only to be met by a tall man already occupying the space.

they don't speak beyond brief polite hello's and an exchange of glances. she's comfortable with that. as long as he allows her to smoke her cigarettes (a nasty habit) in silence. he does, for a little while. then he doesn't.

it's almost alarming. most people don't ask, they already know. maybe it's because he's older - thirties or forties, maybe, she can't quite tell. people of his demographic aren't as inclined to know. perhaps that's a good thing.

she ashes her cigarette, looking at him for a moment, like she's studying him. he's lucky, she can't help but think, that the ceilings are high enough for him. that can't be easy. perhaps it's only to make his life easier, that she decides to answer.

he gets a spare glance, but no handshake. "alice," she replies. plain, expressionless. that's the best she can do.

And there she is, beaming from across the room, secure in the knowledge that her curiosity has provoked his curiosity. "That a serious question?" If he had mistaken it for trash and thrown it out, no one would blame him. "It's my objet d'art!" Among her many disciplines, sculpture was nowhere near the top of the list. "Funny. Thought you were into that kinda thing."

“ cherry. ” it's too quiet, but that's not the reason he calls her name. there's an undertone of curiosity, rather than concern. joe's by the table, paused in his steps as he'd gone to pass by it, looking at something on said table. that certainly wasn't there this morning. he frowns, then over his shoulder, knowing @daemondaes can hear him, “ — what is this ? ”

Finished writing the next Planet Pissed update - and its a chunk longer than last, word wise. Wips and whatnot will be posted sooner than later, especially after the flight back home tonight (the portland dethklok show was ZAZZY) and some collab stuff! in the mean time here’s a thing I forgot to upload here last month for the year anniversary of the fan webcomic, in addition, some Murderkrakish getting taken care of by the demon squad, and a dickface sketch;

thought it was weird in the show last night when Nathan at the end in protest to Charles saying its reaching the end of the show, grabbed Pickles’ by his bald and wringed his dreads over the crowd and showered people in his sweat? Then swung Pickles like a sword and started hitting security with him? very stylized choice! Did I mention I’m full of shit?
