i dont wanna be an asshole but the amount of people i see every year on every social thats like "i dont get artfight :( :( someone explain it plsss" if you dont understand artfight, the best place to start IS ARTFIGHT. go to the website!! i PROMISE the answer is somewhere, and if it isnt then you can click the little discord icon and contact a mod there!! why do some of yall ask tiktok instead of just googling "art fight" 😭😭😭
this hasnt started yet this year bc the help channels arent open, but in every previous year ive been there for i saw dozens of people a day in the discord help channels asking questions that are answered on the about page of the site like "what day does it start again?" and "what is a team?" artfighters. i am legitimately BEGGING you. read through the faq, about, rules, attack categorization guide, and filtering guide in their entirety before asking a mod. like 80% of questions are answered there. (if youre new and still deciding on if you wanna join you dont need the filter/attack guides immediately but if you decide to join pls read them)
of course there are situations where your question isnt answered on the site, in which case ABSOLUTELY ask a moderator or post online!!! im not trying to discourage people from doing that if they truly need help, but the mods have enough on their plate already. take the extra 5 minutes and check for yourself first. please.
Tumblr media
tldr: 99% of questions you need answered to start artfight is on the site under one of the (pictured above) tabs. check the website for your answer first before you do anything else.

My Gender is [NOT] Human Zine is Now Accepting Submissions!
Xenogender: A gender that cannot be contained by human understandings of gender; more concerned with crafting other methods of gender categorization and hierarchy such as those relating to animals, plants, or other creatures/things.
This zine will be a collection of artwork, writing and more created by alterhumans and nonhumans to express both their species identity, gender, and how they intersect. While this zine will have an xenogender slant, everyone who has something to share about how their species and gender overlap are encouraged to submit pieces! Similarly, if you are currently questioning, you are still welcome to participate. Anonymous submissions are accepted.
What Can I Submit?
Both fiction and nonfiction pieces are accepted. As long as what you have in mind fits the theme, it’ll probably be a-ok.
Off the top of our head, we’re thinking of:
Essays of your personal experiences
Short stories
Poetry
Advice columns
Artwork
Fictional advertisements
Comics
Mock interviews
This is far from an exhaustive list, we welcome you to think outside the box!
How to Participate
Please email your completed submission to ruffledgryphon(@)gmail(.)com and title the email “My Gender is Not Human Zine Submission.” Also make sure to include the following information in your email:
A name you would like the piece attributed to
Title of your submission
Any content warnings that you feel are necessary for the piece
Any social media handle or personal website you’d like listed in the contributor section
A logo or icon for the contributor section
**If you would like to stay anonymous please let us know
Members of systems are welcome to submit individually or collectively. Please let us know your preference when it comes to attribution.
Once the deadline has passed, the submissions will be crafted together into a single zine and it will be posted on our itch.io as a free PDF.
Submissions are due by May 1, 2024.
Our itch.io: https://ruffledgryphon.itch.io/
Submission Guidelines
Each individual may submit up to 3 works to be featured in My Gender is [NOT] Human. Comics and multi-image works count as one piece. Individuals within a system may each submit up to 3 works. All work must be your own! Anyone caught plagiarizing or submitting AI-generated work will be barred from entering My Gender is [NOT] Human and any future zines from us.
Written submissions should not exceed 30 pages and multi-part art entries should not exceed 10 pages. Please keep in mind the zine’s pages will be 8.5x11 and entries will be scaled accordingly to fit that size. We request all art submissions to be sent in either .jpg or .png file formats.
For stories that use multiple different fonts, we will do our best to preserve the general “feel” of your piece but cannot guarantee we will be able to use the exact fonts or sizes due to restrictions in what fonts we have access to, readability and overarching zine style.
Submissions must fit the thematic criteria of
About the intersection of gender and species identities
If you’re not sure if you count, feel free to reach out to us. However, we will be leaning on the side of “Yes! We’d love to hear from you!”
FAQ
Q: Where will the zine be hosted? What will it cost? A: The zine will be hosted digitally on our itch.io and will be free to download. Our itch.io can be found here: https://ruffledgryphon.itch.io/
Q: Is there a cap on submissions? A: There is none, as long as the file doesn’t start getting too big for our computer we’ll do our best! If there are an unprecedented amount of submissions, we may have to delay the release. In the event that happens, we would communicate that through updates on our tumblr.
Q: Can I update my application after it’s been submitted? A: Yes you may, as long as that is communicated to us before the submission deadline.
Q: Can I rescind my submission? A: Yes you may, as long as that is communicated to us before the submission deadline. This is because once we begin work on the zine, having to remove content mid-way through would throw off the formatting of everything else after. Please take this into account before submitting.
Q: Will this zine allow NSFW entries? A: No, nothing 18+ will be accepted.
Q: What is your timeline for the project? A: Our submission deadline is May 1, 2024. We are then planning to spend the next month compiling all of the entries. Our goal is to have the zine live by June 1, 2024. If something unforeseen happens and we are unable to make that deadline, we will post an update about it on our tumblr.
Q: I have another question! A: Feel free to reach out to us at our email ruffledgryphon(@)gmail(.)com or here on tumblr  with any other questions you have about the zine.

Nanowrimo made a half-assed, desperate ""apology"" post
Full text, for when they inevitably try to edit it; as of right now it's August 6th, 2024, around 5:30pm est.
A Note to Our Community About our Comments on AI – September 2024 To the NaNoWriMo Community: In early August, debates about AI on our social media channels became vitriolic. It was clear that the intimidation and harassment we witnessed were causing harm within our community of writers. The FAQs we crafted last week were written to curtail those behaviors. We wanted to send a clear signal that NaNoWriMo spaces would not be used to bully or delegitimize other writers. This was consistent with our May 2024 statement, which named a lack of civility in NaNoWriMo spaces as a longstanding concern. Taking a position of neutrality was not an abandonment of writers’ legitimate concerns about AI. It was an acknowledgment that NaNoWriMo can’t maintain a civil, inclusive community if we allow selective intolerance. We absolutely believe that AI must be discussed and that its ethical use must be advocated-for. What we don’t believe is that NaNoWriMo belongs at the forefront of that conversation. That debate should continue to thrive within the greater writing community as technologies continue to evolve. We apologize that our original message was unclear and seemingly random. Our note on ableism and classism was rooted in the desire to point out that, for people in certain circumstances, some forms of AI can be life-changing. We certainly don’t believe those with concerns about AI to be classist or ableist. Not being more careful about our wording was a bad decision on our part. Our Mission is about providing encouragement to writers and cheering them on as they progress toward their goals. That remains our primary focus. In the future, we will be more transparent about the issues that we are trying to address with any messaging we provide. Finally, we recognize that some members of our community have other questions and concerns that go beyond general context for our comments. We don’t think we can address all of these in a single communication. Additional context here is that we are a very small team (including our Interim Executive Director, who is a volunteer). We want to take the time to read through your letters with the care, attention, and concern they deserve. Please expect more in the coming weeks.  In partnership, The NaNoWriMo Team
I sincerely hope their other sponsors bail ship and leave them to flounder at this point lmao. There is no going back from "if you criticize generative AI you're just ableist classist and racist".
They've also once again edited their "What Is Nanowrimo's Stance on AI?" post:
New text, in full; looks like it was updated sometime late yesterday or early today (August 6th 2024):
What is NaNoWriMo's position on Artificial Intelligence (AI)? 13 hours ago -Updated Not yet followed by anyone
NaNoWriMo neither explicitly supports nor condemns any approach to writing, including the use of tools that  leverage AI. We recognize that harm has been done to the writing and creative communities at the hands of bad actors in the generative AI space, and that the ethical questions and risks posed by some aspects of this technology are real. The fact that AI is a large, complex technology category (which encompasses both non-generative and generative AI, applied in a range of ways to a range of uses) contributes to our belief that AI is simply too big and too varied to categorically support or condemn. NaNoWriMo's mission is to "provide the structure, community, and encouragement to help people use their voices, achieve creative goals, and build new worlds—on and off the page." We fulfill our mission by supporting the humans doing the writing. Please see this related post that speaks to our overall position on nondiscrimination with respect to approaches to creativity, writer's resources, and personal choice.  We made mistakes in our initial expression of this position. We speak to those mistakes in this letter to our community, and we've simplified the language on this page to reflect our core position.
If you're wondering why Nano's posting all these non-apologies, its because they started this debacle with seven huge sponsors.
Over the course of the last three days, they've gone down to four.
They have literally lost about half their sponsors because of their support of generative ai.
And, as you can see in the "apologies" above, they're still defending their AI stance, by now claiming that their stance is because they were defending poor, hapless AI users from a horde of harassment and bullying from all sides, and they're not a platform that condones bullying! totally! (sarcasm).

Hey! Sorry for the bother, but I'm extremely new to ArtFight! I wanna join in this year, but I'm not exactly sure what ArtFight even is. All I've done is read the rules 😅 could you maybe summarize what ArtFight is, how to join, and anything else that might be useful for me? Thank you!! 🥰
Hi, no worries at all! Art Fight is, at its core, an event held once a year where the goal is to make art of others' characters. It starts on July 1st at 12:00 PM Mountain Time every year and lasts for one month only.
By submitting art (attacks) to the site, you can also gain points for your assigned team; the team with the most points at the end of the month wins! We have a unique theme for each event - this is where we get our teams! Last year was Vampires vs Werewolves and the year before that was Bloom vs Wither. The theme is just for fun, though, and the main goal of the event is to gift art.
You can join by making an account on the site through the "register" button in the top right corner. You can also upload any original characters you have anytime, regardless of if there's an event going on or not.
This video simplifies the concept, if you'd like to check it out.
Make sure you've read through our filter guides & rating categorization pages, too! It might also benefit you to read our FAQ. You can also contact a staff member on-site or through our Discord server.
Hope this helps you! We'd love to have you participate!

Welcome!
This is a growing source for finding plus size and curvy beauties for your faceclaims, moodboards, art references, or inspiration for your work!
DNI if you are racist, Zionist, transphobic, a feeder/feedee account, homophobic, biphobic, fatphobic, or have a negative attitude.
I tag nsfw content (which is not always necessarily ‘sexy’ content) as ‘nsfw.’ in the hopes tumblr won’t flag it.
FAQ
Why don’t you have xyz on your page?
I am open for submissions because I do have trouble finding plus size or chubby models. However, some models have problematic pasts that I feel uncomfortable displaying on my blog (ex. Trisha Paytas, Barbie Ferreira, etc.)
Where do you find these images?
Mostly Instagram, sometimes Pinterest. I try to give credit to each source so you can check out more of their photos on your own.
Xyz is not actually plus sized!
This is a place for chubby, curvy, and plus sized people. While you might not consider size 14 models to be fat, for example, they are considered plus sized by the fashion industry so it would be weird not to include them.
Models are the more public figures so they have more photographs available of them but still have body standards to maintain for the industry. However, if you do find someone with a different body type please send them in!
You’re promoting obesity!
Obese people deserve to see themselves represented instead of being hidden away in a cave somewhere you troll.
Also, I’m fat and can deadlift almost 200 pounds, what can you do?
Why do you have the ethnicity listed in the tags? Also you’re referring to their races.
Personally it makes it easier for me to look for someone who matches the description in my head if I can narrow it down rather than wading through images that don’t match at least one of my character’s physical characteristics. I understand why other blogs don’t do it because it feels weird when I do it but at the same time I’d rather find matching characteristics easier. And yes I am referring to their race but saying I’m categorizing them by ethnicity is a little bit better than saying I’m doing it by race.
Why can’t feeder/feedee accounts interact you?
I have no personal issue with NSFW accounts and I don’t believe in kink shaming, however I do not ask formal permission from the influencers I’m taking these pictures from so it feel me wrong to ‘let’ them be fetishized. I’m Asian so to me it feels like starting an Asian pride page and having interactions with people who fetishize Asians. If you disagree, I’m open to a (non confrontational) conversation.

will you make bits of lore you reveal via tumblr and the asks more accessable? there is alot of information left out from the faq that is only explained when you go out and look for the lore in the website how about a trivia page?
This is actually a fantastic idea. I never considered this before. I mean, I've thought before about having a place to store lore stuff I've revealed outside the comic but I never thought about a trivia page specifically. Maybe I could categorize it by stuff like character trivia, relationship trivia, world building? Anyone have suggestions for sections/features of this that you would find helpful? (Please reply to this post with your suggestions)

Welcome to the Wizarding Library!
Who are we?
We are a fan-run blog dedicated to fanfiction across the entire Harry Potter Universe. Our goal is to post masterlists daily and to create a library of as many fics as we can muster to add! It is currently only two of us running this show, but we hope you enjoy your stay here at the WWL! This will be a long, informational deep dive, but beneficial if you are unsure how we operate here.
Blog Navigation:
In our description you will see a link to mobile usage.
Tumblr media
This will take you to a separate webpage with multiple links for navigating your way through the blog. There will be links to the tags page, masterlists page, masterlist updates page, the library, and the faq.
Tumblr media
If you are on the webpage version of tumblr, you can find these links on the top bar. As well as a sidebar located on the right.
Tumblr media
Tags:
Our tags page is a compiled list of everything we have tagged on the blog. This ranges from ships, tropes, birthdays, aus, etc. If you on the desktop version of our tags page, it will look like this below:
Tumblr media
On the left side bar of the page, underneath navigation, are the different filters that you can use to further organize the tags to your specific preference. For example, if you are looking for our alternate universe tags, you simply click on the "Genre" tab on the left side, and that are the tags you see.
Tumblr media
The same works on our mobile version! The image on the left is how our mobile version should look, and on the right shows how it looks when you do the same steps as above. Using the genre filter as an example.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Masterlist Page:
Welcome to the masterlists page! Here you can find an alphabetized list of all the masterlists that have been posted on the blog. If you would like to request a masterlist, you can do so here.
Tumblr media
Each masterlist is followed by the genre, and how many. The fun part about this new theme we have, the filters are able to be used together. For example, if you want "Draco Malfoy" and "Smut", you can do so! However, the masterlists have to have both tags in order for you to be able to stack filters. For example, if you select the "Draco Malfoy" and "Fantastic Beasts" tag, nothing will show up.
On the left side of the webpage, we have our filter/tags section. This is divided into four different sections, genre, tags, female and male characters. We do have a lot of options on the filters section, so you may have to scroll just a bit down to see. But, we currently have over 1,000 masterlists posted to date! With many more to come :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The following is what this page should look like on the mobile version! For the purpose of this, we used the angst filter to show how that should also look. Filters can be stacked as well on mobile, but the same thing as above applies. Both masterlists must have the tag for it to appear.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Library:
Welcome to the library! Here we are slowly working on adding as many fics as we can to the pages here. Currently all fics will be categorized by character and ships. We are going to continue to work on adding them onto the pages. If you wish to have your fics added, please send us an ask with your name and the platform your works are on.
On our desktop, the library should look as followed.
Tumblr media
While we are missing a lot of characters still, those will be added in time.
When you click further on one of the characters or ships, you will be sent to a page that looks like this. We'll use Harry Potter for this example.
Tumblr media
Underneath the name of the character or ship, there is a keyword search bar. This is functional! You can enter words or phrases here if you know what you are looking for.
If you are unsure of any keywords to search for, we have ideas! If you click on the word "keywords" as shown below, a list appears. This list is customized to fit the character or ship you are looking at, as well as the basic keyword ideas.

It also determines whether you can process transactions and get paid directly.
Sourcing Suppliers and Additional Funding
Reexamine yourself. What is the profile of the partner you want to work with? In what manner do you intend to work with them? When looking to outsource, do not run away from your network. Existing contacts are the best place to start with a Shopify web development Agency. Easy deals and fewer problems are sometimes discovered just one step away.

FAQs
when are sign ups due by?
you can join whenever you want. if you're interested, fill out the google doc and i'll get you a bingo card!
if this becomes a yearly thing that people are interested in, then maybe we'll start having official sign ups in january or february.
i'll start reblogging new content from everyone on march 1st.
when are fics/art/moodboards due by?
this is a year round event, but since a good amount of holidays fall around the late november/december time period and i want folks to have time for celebrations and family time, i've marked the cut off point as november 10th.
what are these bingo cards gonna look like?
every person who signs up will get a personalized bingo card. for example, this is what i might make for myself:
Tumblr media
your username will go in the bottom corner - i used the event username as an example here.
will i get a chance to specify what i want on my card?
there will be a spot in the google sign up doc where you can let me know what you are/aren't interested in, or if there are any specific characters you might want to write for, but bingo topics are totally randomized
do i have to fill out every single square?
definitely not! you can go for a blackout bingo or just do the prompts that really speak to you. 3 in a row? awesome. 4 in a row? perfect. you made jaig eyes out of your finished bingo boxes? i'm not sure how you did that, but i'm impressed.
what's not allowed?
if you cl*neship or ship cl*necest, then this is not the place for you. no rexsoka, master/padawan, rape, incest, underage relationships.
smut is allowed and encouraged, but please no toilet stuff and again no rape or incest.
can i write... [a threesome, polyamory, polybatch, etc] ?
sure! so long as there's no weird cloneshippy stuff going on/the clones are focusing on an oc or reader character, then that's totally fine!
do i have to write specifically about x character i received?
for example, let's say one of your character prompts is jango and you're not really interested in writing your oc/reader into a relationship with him. that's okay! so long as jango has something to do with the story (he's serving as wingman for a clone, he's hunting the main characters, etc), then you can write whatever you'd like.
do i have to write a long fic? do i have to write a certain word length? can i draw something instead?
let your creativity take you wherever it wishes to go! obviously don't just write, like, 5 words or something, but any length is acceptable.
feel like drawing something? making a moodboard? a spotify playlist? go for it, i promise you we're gonna eat it up.
please no ai generated content
i can't remember what glass is called in-universe/i'm having trouble drawing tem's face/i need moodboard images
i have a resource page for you! full of reader inclusivity, clone trooper info, tips on how to unwhitewash the clones, and some basic info on māori culture
how do i find other people's work?
you can search the event tag (#2024cbe) or browse through the reblogs on here, which i will categorize by character and author.
when the event is over, i'll make one big masterlist of all the authors and stories/other content created.

Okay hang on. So this seemed really weird (especially since there wasn't a link to a source) so I went and looked into it. Found 2 main things. (My words outside of the quotes are bolded for easier reading, everything else is copy-pasted directly from their website.)
Further down the FAQ list on nanowrimo's website, there was a separate tab for "Am I allowed to use AI?" This page read: "The goal of participating in NaNoWriMo is to motivate yourself to write and give yourself space to develop your creativity. 'Winning' is a personal achievement and has always been based on the honor system! If using AI will assist your creative process, you are welcome to use it. Using ChatGPT to write your entire novel would defeat the purpose of the challenge, though." And here's the link to the page so y'all can look for yourselves. They also pasted in what ChatGPT said when they asked it if you could use AI for the challenge, which is kinda funny.
The page being quoted here has been updated and expanded on since this post was made. I am absolutely not denying that there's a good chance they updated just to save face, but having all the information given seems like a good thing regardless. The text in the original photo above is all still there, but they added a note and an additional section. "Note: we have edited this post by adding this paragraph to reflect our acknowledgment that there are bad actors in the AI space who are doing harm to writers and who are acting unethically. We want to make clear that, though we find the categorical condemnation for AI to be problematic for the reasons stated below, we are troubled by situational abuse of AI, and that certain situational abuses clearly conflict with our values. We also want to make clear that AI is a large umbrella technology and that the size and complexity of that category (which includes both non-generative and generative AI, among other uses) contributes to our belief that it is simply too big to categorically endorse or not endorse." ^Note was between the two paragraphs in the original post. Below both was the following:
"Classism. Not all writers have the financial ability to hire humans to help at certain phases of their writing. For some writers, the decision to use AI is a practical, not an ideological, one. The financial ability to engage a human for feedback and review assumes a level of privilege that not all community members possess.
"Ableism. Not all brains have same abilities and not all writers function at the same level of education or proficiency in the language in which they are writing. Some brains and ability levels require outside help or accommodations to achieve certain goals. The notion that all writers “should“ be able to perform certain functions independently or is a position that we disagree with wholeheartedly. There is a wealth of reasons why individuals can't "see" the issues in their writing without help.
"General Access Issues. All of these considerations exist within a larger system in which writers don't always have equal access to resources along the chain. For example, underrepresented minorities are less likely to be offered traditional publishing contracts, which places some, by default, into the indie author space, which inequitably creates upfront cost burdens that authors who do not suffer from systemic discrimination may have to incur.  "Beyond that, we see value in sharing resources and information about AI and any emerging technology, issue, or discussion that is relevant to the writing community as a whole. It's healthy for writers to be curious about what's new and forthcoming, and what might impact their career space or their pursuit of the craft. Our events with a connection to AI have been extremely well-attended, further-proof that this programming is serving Wrimos who want to know more.  "For all of those reasons, we absolutely do not condemn AI, and we recognize and respect writers who believe that AI tools are right for them. We recognize that some members of our community stand staunchly against AI for themselves, and that's perfectly fine. As individuals, we have the freedom to make our own decisions."
Here's the link if you want to read for yourself.
Okay to be clear, this is not me saying I necessarily agree with them. I think they absolutely could have discussed the value of certain AI tools for things like editing, prompt generation, translation, etc. while still stating that you're not supposed to use ChatGPT or whatever to write your whole novel. But I figured I'd add the additional info given here so we're not all screaming at a clickbait-y headline without having all the details.
Tumblr media
So it looks like NaNoWriMo are happy to have AI as part of their community. Miss me with that bullshit. Generative artificial intelligence is an active threat to creativity and the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of people in creative fields.
Please signal boost this so writers can make an informed choice about whether to continue to take part in such a community.

#yeah#generative AI just keeps reminding me of machnine translation#where the tech existing has been an enormous boon to all kinds of people and accessibility across so many walks of life#and it is also true that it destroyed translation as a professional field in general#and to this day deflates wages and encourages companies to cut corners in ways taht harm everyone#and the solution is not to ban machine translation#it is to fucking regulate the bullshit capitalists do with it to mitigate the harm#anyone who is calling the use of gen AI categorically evil had best never touch google translate#or at least accept that they are a massive fucking hypocrite
Machine translation and generative AI do both have one massive drawback that is one of my biggest bugbears with both technologies: they're both shit. Machine translation does have massive advantages and allows at-home, low-effort translating, as well as greatly expands the number of things that creators can afford to translate, which is great! It also means that things that are supposed to have decent translations now have absolutely terrible translations, because rather than hiring a professional to do it, companies just plug it into The Machine. If your product requires translation, why spend money for a professional to do it properly when you can get a kind-of-coherent mess for free? What's the customer gonna do, use a different product that's also translating to a kind-of-coherent mess for free?
Customer-facing AI products (the ones that aren't bafflingly stupid and unnecessary concepts with 'ai' put on the front or thin masks stretched over malware and data harvesters -- actually, no, those ones too) are worse at their jobs than what they're replacing. Things like Duolingo and Grammerly noticeably tanked in quality after switching, customer service chatbots are somehow even more useless than they used to be now that they can hallucinate nonexistent answers and discounts for you instead of linking you to the FAQ based on keywords in your enquiry, search engines give wildly inaccurate answers synthesised from blindly harvesting from other pages (sometimes little-visited pages that are now being further deprived of attention as the search engine takes advantage of their creator's work and doesn't display the actual page), and even if we set aside the labour concerns for the moment, the flood of mindless autogenerated articles, bland art, pointless error-ridden stories with neither purpose nor even consistent context, actively dangerous 'non-fiction' books, and max-impact generated videos has made pretty much every artistic market with any digital component actively worse.
It's worth noting, though, that none of these things were invented by modern AI. These problems all existed before these tools were ever developed. Customer service bots always sucked, meaningless schlocky books pumped out by ghostwriters working a gig economy for below-poverty wages at the behest of some grifter picking topics from a 'most searched terms' list were an old problem years ago, shitty top-ten lists full of errors and made up bullshit are as old as print, and people have been sampling, tracing, and stealing each others' art since long before the internet. What modern AI, particularly generative AI, has done is make them cheaper and easier to get away with. It has created zero problems, and exacerbated many that were already pervasive. Addressing these problems directly is a far better use of our time than attacking the whole technology directly (which is a bubble that's going to burst within a few years anyway). And trying to kill some niche side uses of the technology by massively expanding copyright laws will create far more problems than it could possibly mitigate.
What I don't get is that other your support of AI image generation, you're SO smart and well read and concerned with ethics. I genuinely looked up to you! So, what, ethics for everyone except for artists, or what? Is animation (my industry, so maybe I care more than the average person) too juvenile and simplistic a medium for you to care about its extinction at the hands of CEOs endorsing AI? This might sound juvenile too, but I'm kinda devastated, because I genuinely thought you were cool. You're either with artists or against us imho, on an issue as large as this, when already the layoffs in the industry are insurmountable for many, despite ongoing attempts to unionize. That user called someone a fascist for pointing this out, too. I guess both of you feel that way about those of us involved in class action lawsuits against AI image generation software.
i can't speak for anyone else or the things they've said or think of anyone. that said:
1. you should not look up to people on the computer. i'm just a girl running a silly little blog.
2. i am an artist across multiple mediums. the 'no true scotsman' bit where 'artists' are people who agree with you and you can discount anyone disagrees with you as 'not an artist' and therefore fundamentally unsympathetic to artists will make it very difficult to actually engage in substantive discussion.
3. i've stated my positions on this many times but i'll do it one more: i support unionization and industrial action. i support working class artists extracting safeguards from their employers against their immiseration by the introduction of AI technology into the work flow (i just made a post about this funnily enough). i think it is Bad for studio execs or publishers or whoever to replace artists with LLMs. However,
4. this is not a unique feature of AI or a unique evil built into the technology. this is just the nature of any technological advance under capitalism, that it will be used to increase productivity, which will push people out of work and use the increased competition for jobs to leverage that precarity into lower wages and worse conditions. the solution to this is not to oppose all advances in technology forever--the solution is to change the economic system under which technologies are leveraged for profit instead of general wellbeing.
5. this all said anyone involved in a class action lawsuit over AI is an enemy of art and everything i value in the world, because these lawsuits are all founded in ridiculous copyright claims that, if legitimated in court, would be cataclysmic for all transformative art--a victory for any of these spurious boondoggles would set a precedent that the bar for '''infringement''' is met by a process that is orders of magnitude less derivative than collage, sampling, found art, cut-ups, and even simple homage and reference. whatever windmills they think they are going to defeat, these people are crusading for the biggest expansion of copyright regime since mickey mouse and anyone who cares at all about art and creativity flourishing should hope they fail.

Voice of the Customer: Using Call Analytics to Improve Your Service
Tumblr media
In the dynamic landscape of customer service, the key to success lies in understanding the voice of the customer. Beyond merely listening to phone calls, businesses can harness the power of call analytics to extract actionable insights that pave the way for service improvements. This article explores the transformative potential of call analytics and its role in refining customer service, ultimately leading to sustainable business growth.
Introduction: Listening Beyond Words
In a world where customer feedback is the compass guiding service improvements, call analytics emerges as the unsung hero. It goes beyond the surface, transforming raw audio data into invaluable insights that propel businesses toward service excellence. While listening to customer calls is beneficial, call analytics opens the door to a deeper understanding of what customers truly want and need.
Benefits of Using Call Analytics Identifying Pain Points: Navigating Frustrations Unveiling recurring customer frustrations, such as confusing menus, long wait times, or inefficient agent resolutions, becomes a streamlined process with call analytics. These insights serve as the compass for targeted enhancements, ensuring a smoother customer experience.
Measuring Agent Performance: The Metrics That Matter Analysing key call metrics—first call resolution, average handle time, and customer satisfaction ratings—provides a holistic view of agent performance. With this knowledge, businesses can pinpoint areas for coaching and improvement, elevating overall service quality.
Tracking Trends and Patterns: Adapting for Success
Monitoring changes in customer sentiment, call topics, and peak times empowers businesses to adapt their service strategy and allocate resources effectively. This proactive approach ensures that businesses stay ahead of trends, always ready to meet evolving customer needs.
Personalizing Interactions:
The Human Touch Leveraging customer data to greet callers by name, suggest relevant solutions and tailor call experiences adds a personalized touch. Call analytics transforms interactions from transactional to relational, fostering a deeper connection between businesses and their customers.
Boosting Customer Satisfaction: Proactive Resolution
Addressing pain points proactively, delivering faster resolutions, and showcasing a commitment to continuous improvement are the cornerstones of customer satisfaction. By employing call analytics, businesses not only respond to feedback but actively work to exceed customer expectations, reducing churn in the process.
Turning Insights into Action
Investing in Technology: Platforms that Power Insights Utilizing advanced call analytics platforms that transcribe calls, categorize emotions, and identify keywords is crucial. These platforms offer easy-to-digest data visualizations, providing businesses with the tools they need to transform insights into actionable strategies.
Empowering the Team: Collaboration for Change
Sharing call analytics findings with customer service agents, managers, and product developers fosters collaboration. This collaborative approach ensures that everyone is on the same page, working together to drive meaningful change based on customer insights.
Prioritizing Actionable Insights: From Data to Results
Focusing on data that translates into concrete actions is key. Whether it’s revising scripts, updating FAQs, or providing targeted training, businesses should prioritize insights that lead to tangible improvements in their service delivery.
Closing the Feedback Loop: Transparent Improvement
Informing customers about actions taken based on their feedback is a powerful step. This transparency showcases a commitment to listening and continuous improvement, reinforcing the bond between businesses and their customers.
Call Analytics in Practice: A Real-world Scenario
Scenario: Customers repeatedly get lost in your IVR system. Insight: High abandonment rates at a specific menu prompt. Action: Simplify the menu structure and offer more intuitive options. Result: Reduced frustration, improved call flow, and happier customers.
The Ever-evolving Landscape: A Continuous Process
In the pursuit of service excellence, it’s crucial to acknowledge that customer expectations and preferences are ever-evolving. This reality underscores the importance of making call analytics a continuous process. Businesses must remain vigilant, always attuned to shifts in customer behavior, emerging trends, and the evolving landscape of their respective industries.
Harnessing Qualitative and Quantitative Data: A Holistic Approach To truly excel in leveraging call analytics, businesses should embrace a holistic approach that combines both qualitative and quantitative data. While quantitative metrics provide measurable insights into performance, qualitative data delves into the nuances of customer interactions. Striking a balance between these two facets paints a comprehensive picture, enabling businesses to make informed decisions that resonate with their customer base.
Implementing Change in Phases: Monitoring and Adapting
The journey towards service excellence is not a sprint but a marathon. Implementing changes in phases allows businesses to monitor the impact of adjustments made based on call analytics. This iterative process ensures that each modification contributes positively to the overall customer experience. Monitoring customer feedback, metrics, and key performance indicators provides the necessary feedback loop to refine strategies as needed.
Customer-centric Technology: Navigating the Digital Landscape
In the digital age, technology plays a pivotal role in shaping customer experiences. Investing in customer-centric technology, such as advanced call analytics platforms, is an essential step. These platforms not only provide comprehensive insights but also enable businesses to adapt quickly to changing customer needs. The marriage of technology and customer-centricity becomes a catalyst for innovation and sustained growth.
Integrating External Insights: A Collaborative Approach
Beyond internal analytics, businesses can also benefit from external insights. Collaborating with industry experts, staying abreast of market research, and participating in relevant forums contribute to a broader perspective. This collaborative approach ensures that businesses are not only meeting current expectations but are also prepared for future shifts in the customer service landscape.
The Role of Employee Feedback: An Internal Voice
While the focus is often on the external voice of the customer, internal feedback from employees is equally valuable. Customer service agents are on the front lines, interacting directly with customers. Their insights, coupled with call analytics, provide a powerful combination. Businesses should create channels for employees to contribute feedback, fostering a culture of continuous improvement from within.
Conclusion: A Symphony of Insights for Lasting Success
In the orchestration of service excellence, call analytics becomes the conductor, harmonizing the diverse voices of customers, employees, and the broader industry landscape. By embracing technology, prioritizing actionable insights, and adopting a continuous improvement mindset, businesses can transform the voice of the customer into a symphony of insights that resonate with excellence.
