FAQ

What is a Big Bang?

A Big Bang is a fandom event wherein writers and artists come together to create! Typically, a writer will create a fic that meets a certain minimum length requirement, and an artist will create an art piece based upon that work. Writers and artists are paired up to work on their parts until the posting date, where the pieces are posted together!

Who can participate?

Any fans of the Stobotnik pairing are more than welcome to participate! This includes writers and artists, but we are also looking for beta readers and moderators. Currently, there is no cutoff for the number of participants.

How do I join?

Currently, sign-ups are closed. The first round of sign-ups was for writers, followed by artist and beta readers, who may input preferences for which project they would like to work on.

What happens after I sign up?

You will be contacted in DMs with the link to a Discord server, which will be the main hub for communication and check-ins. A Discord account will most likely be required for your participation in the event, but we are currently looking at possible alternative forms of communication if enough people request it.

Can I write/draw NSFW?

As long as you are over 18, yes! There will be a question within the application to confirm you are 18 or older; if you lie about this to us, you will be removed from the event. It is also required that writing and art of this nature is appropriately tagged and warned upon posting.

Can I participate as both an artist and writer?

No. For the sake of us here in the mod team and everyone participating, it is far easier if each person only does one thing, so you will need to pick one or the other.

Is there a theme?

There is no theme; if we run another event in future, there may be, but for the 2025 Big Bang, there's no theme, so go wild!

SUMMARY

During one of their visits to the Dark World, Kris and Susie find that two humans had mysteriously appeared from seemingly nowhere. Unsure of what else to do, Kris beings them back to Hometown to figure out who they are, where they came from, and more importantly, why they were covered in dust. With nowhere else to go, the two are essentially adopted into the Dreemurr family until they can figure out how to get back home.

FAQ'S AND CLARIFICATIONS

When does the comic upload?

Ideally, every Friday …. But you know… Life can get in the way sometimes!

When does Fractured take place?

The beginning of this comic begins after the events of Deltarune chapter 3, and eventually branches off into it's own route.

How does controlling the KFC gang work?

At the beginning of this AU, Kris is controlled by one player while Frisk and Chara are controlled by another. The connection to these two players are eventually lost/corrupted leaving the three open to any and all players (you, the readers) to take control or influence their actions. The words you comment on posts, the questions you ask, and the answers you give in polls can impact what happens in the story. Not everything will have an influence but it will always have a chance to. Occasionally, players will be in control of the actions of characters for a limited amount of time. How this works is certain pages will be captioned with who you are controlling and instructions you need to follow. Players will submit what they would like said character to do through asks and I will pick a handful that will occur until they are disconnected from you (I do tend to get quite a bit of submissions so I will not be able to use all of them, please understand that).

How will you know what has influenced the story?

I will respond directly stating that it will have an impact. Most of the time I will state how it will influence the story, however, I do want to keep some things secret occasionally.

How do the players communicate to Kris, Frisk and Chara?

Players are able to communicate to them primarily through any screen such as a tv, computer, phone, ect. On occasion they can communicate to them via ominous voices inside their heads. Otherwise, players can not directly interact with their world and will not have a physical appearance. I should also add that only the KFC gang and V are able to see or hear the players' messages. No one else is able to.

RULES FOR ASKS & INFLUENCING THE STORY

In this AU, Frisk and Chara are 12 while Kris is 17. THEY ARE ALL NONBINARY so anything inappropriate, rude, or offensive will be deleted immediately.

I’m trying to stay as canon as possible, however, if your ask includes fangames or other AU’s (ex: Undertale Red and Yellow) I will try to work it into the story if I can. I’m not very knowledgeable about other AU’s but I’m willing to at least try.

Considering that I’m basically running both an ask blog and uploading a comic, I may not be able to answer right away. Please be patient with me, I’m doing my best over here…

“Do you take requests?”

Technically, no. I don’t take requests. Although if I see a mention of a story or characters that I like it’s possible that they might appear in my sketches or illustrations! I actually have a list of many book characters I want to get to that people happen to comment as well 😂

“What digital brushes do you use?”

For procreate I use Old Beach, 6B Pencil, and my own brushes from my brush pack! (Linked in bio)

“When will you draw more _____?”

If you’ve followed me for a particular fan art or subject I’m sorry to disappoint 😂 All of my fan art works are very random and come and go with whatever inspires me at that moment.

“What inspired your art style?”

Currently my works are very inspired by vintage children’s and editorial illustration! Specifically 1920s to 1960s.

D'abord merci pour ton autre message j'apprécie vraiment le soutient. Je vais raconter un peu dans les grandes lignes comment ça s'est déroulé. J'ai toujours voulu vendre mais je n'avais pas assez confiance en moi et à chaque fois je me décourageais vite. En début d'année j'ai tenté une connerie et je suis à ce jour toujours en arrêt. Sur conseil du psychiatre, elle m'a conseillé de faire ça pendant que j'étais à la maison.

Au début, je passais par pixarprinting pour les impressions (et d'ailleurs je ferai toujours du restock pour les grands formats sur ce site) Une de mes meilleure amie passait par Bigcartel pour l'hébergement, après tu édites ton site selon ton esthétique.

Évidemment c'est une organisation car les commandes m'ont permis d'agrandir l'activité. J'ai pu investir dans le matériel mais il y a des indispensable (les wraps pour emballer, les enveloppes etc. car lors de l'envoi on veut protéger le print de la pluie par exemple) Commander sur internet est onéreux donc j'ai décidé d'investir (et l'investissement est assez conséquent) une nouvelle imprimante Canon Pixma Pro a pu être acheté, une massicot pour les ajustements car maintenant je peux faire des impressions à la maison. Regarde l'immense bordel que j'ai haha mais tout est trié, classé, et c'est super important d'avoir une organisation sinon on peut être facilement être submergé.

Le soutient fort que j'ai reçu m'a permis d'acquérir ce bébé, la cricut pour les stickers. C'est ce qui m'a permis d'agrandir le côté merchandize et personnaliser à fond mes créations, l'emballage.

Pour ce qui est du site, toujours sur Bigcartel, tu établis le paypal en mode business et si tu veux mettre plus de choses sur ton catalogue tu payes 15 euros par mois mais gratuitement tu peux mettre au max 6 prints ce qui est respectable pour commencer doucement. Tu choisis ton thème, tes couleurs vraiment tu te fais plaisir sur ce côté là. En fait, assure toi que tes créations soient quali niveau impression, genre ce que je me dis quand je fais mes trucs c'est me poser la question "Est ce c'est valable ? Est ce que je peux les vendre ?" et si les standards sont pas bon, je recommence. De manière général des A4 ou A5 en format et entre 260 et 300 pour le grammage papier.

Après tu dois aussi vendre tes créations donc pour tout ce qui concerne la promotion c'est bien d'avoir plusieurs réseaux sociaux et de build une communauté. J'espère que j'ai pu t’aiguiller un peu, je dois t'avouer pour moi aussi c'est récent et il m'arrive de faire des erreurs mais on apprends au fur et à mesure, il faut être patient.

Is Sans aware of AUs and the Multiverse? Does he know Ink and is he part of the Star Sanses?

No, No, and ..No. Sans is only confined to what (little) he knows about the things going on in his AU… For now.

What characters are aware of RESETs and timelines?

The only individuals aware of RESETs are Chara, Temmie and Papyrus. But the former of the three does not recall those timelines.

Are the monsters still underground or are they on the surface?

Being as this blog takes place in a TRUE PACIFIST ending, they reside on the surface.

How old are the skeleton brothers?

Sans is 26, and Papyrus is 21.

How does Chara speak? And what pronouns does Chara use?

The human speaks whenever they feel like, most oftenly signs when communicating. (Selectively Mute.)

Oh, and the Human prefers Gender Neutral terms, their pronouns are They/Them. :)

What is The Witch Wolf?

The Witch Wolf is a free to read paranormal romance webcomic created by Dani Carr (she/her) and Bree Williams (they/she), a wife and wife team living in Los Angeles with their perfect witch hound, the Baba Yaga Dogga. The webcomic is written by Dani and illustrated by Bree and Matheus Nogueira (he/him) serves as our cultural consultant. Yaga serves as woof consultant. 

When does The Witch Wolf update?

The Witch Wolf updates once a month on the full moon on thewitchwolf.org and on our Patreon. Chapters are usually 4 parts, with 8-10 pages to each part. Ancillary content such as worldbuilding, short stories, doodles, nsfw art and stories, character Q&As, and BTS references are released on different tiers of the Patreon each month.

What is The Witch Wolf about?

Spoilers, be warned! The Witch Wolf is a webcomic about three witch sisters tangling with their forest home’s waning magic while mediating the growing discontent between the resident lycans and vampires, but complications arise when one of the sisters is bitten by her forbidden werewolf lover. 

Any tropes to sweeten the pot?

Here’s a few, but not too many to avoid spoiling the whole story! Forbidden romance, secret dating, childhood sweethearts, friends to lovers, forced proximity, sisterly bonding, supernatural setting (witches, werewolves, and vampires oh my!), gothic horror, and mind control (particularly dream weaver and master of illusion)

Do you have content warnings?

Yes! We have a page dedicated to content warnings, which we update as needed. This is an adult paranormal romance with gothic horror elements that will delve into heavy topics like power and consent, including sexual consent. Strong language, violence, and nudity are present and we consider The Witch Wolf Rated R, or M for Mature. 

Why do you have a Patreon if the webcomic is free?

The Witch Wolf is absolutely free to read, but we want to offer folks a community spot to chat with other fans of the webcomic and receive additional content about the world, the characters, and behind the scenes looks at the art and the process of creating this story! Making a webcomic requires a lot of dedicated time – illustrating this project is Bree’s full time job, so having a spot where folks can support us and receive additional content is extremely helpful to ensure the whole story can be told. 

Why do you have a cultural consultant?

Our cultural consultant, Matheus Nogueira, is a key part of our team. While much of The Witch Wolf takes influence and inspiration from Bree & Dani’s Irish heritage, Will Anoa’i, a main character, is Samoan and that cultural background influences much of his story and his experiences. In order to correctly and respectfully represent Will and Samoa, we hired our incredible friend Matheus to guide us on Samoan culture and inform Will’s characterization.

Hey there! Sure thing all the "Morpho" book series by Michel Lauricella are amazing. They go in depth into each subjects that are important to learn without having tons of writing on them. Just enough to understand what you see. Hope this helps.

What is the Summer Wildflowers Exchange?

Summer Wildflowers is a fanworks (fanfic and fanart) gift exchange for the Critical Role fandom run via the Archive of Our Own (AO3).

The rules are pretty simple: any pairings are allowed that have fewer than 500 works as of the time nominations open! In previous years, we have eliminated certain ships, but as the fandom grows, this has just become neater. We also want to make sure we encourage people to create works for relationships - platonic or romantic -  that don’t have many fics.

How it works: Participants sign-up to write a story or create one piece of art according to the specifications of another participant. In return, they will also receive one story or piece of art created for them by another participant.

Who all is running this anyway?

For 2025, it’s being run by Operafloozy, with generous help from A_Orbit (helping with answering questions and clarifications, discord moderation among other things), and anubisisms (graphics design and discord creation/moderation). How can I follow the exchange?

Do I have to join the discord?

Nope! It’s completely optional. We’ll be using the discord for questions, resources, sprints, reminders, encouragement, and general camaraderie, but if it’s not your jam - or you just are in enough discords–that's perfectly fine.

What's the schedule?

For 2025, the schedule is as follows:

What's the difference between nominations and signups? Why are they two separate things?

Nominations: You have the chance to nominate various relationships - platonic, romantic, or sexual. This is not required to participate, but if nobody nominates a relationship, you can't request or offer it.

Signups: You look through the list of nominated relationships and create 4-10 prompts based on them and offer to write 4-10 relationships. This can be relationships that you nominated or ones that you didn't - and you don't have to request or offer every relationship you nominated (it's considered good manners to at least intend to request or offer them). You have to do this step to get a gift fic.

Why is it done this way?  There are a lot of possible combinations of relationships that are out there, and you're all creative individuals. The 2024 tagset had over 300 relationships nominated. This is an exchange, which means that the offers and requests have to match. We need to limit it somehow. And you might decide to offer or request relationships that don't match the ones you nominated (maybe someone else nominated them - or someone else has an idea so brilliant that you want to steal it).  But also - the background logic for automatically signing someone up based off of their nominations would be a lot for poor AO3.

After the way campaign 3 ended, is everything a crossover? Is nothing?

The general rules we have are as follows:

a) If the characters largely interact in one campaign, nominate that pairing in that campaign. For example, Ludinus Da'leth/Trent Ikithon would be in Critical Role Campaign Two; Ludinus Da'leth/Predathos would be Critical Role Campaign Three

b) If the characters interact in multiple campaigns, nominate that pairing within the campaign they are featured in the most. For example, Keyleth & Percy interact in both Campaign One and Campaign Three, but because they are more heavily featured in Campaign One, they should be nominated there.

c) If the characters are from a miniseries (Exandria Unlimited, for example) and are also seen within a main campaign, go with the one where they have more screen time (approximate).  For example, Dorian & Fearne and Fearne/Opal are pairings that have interacted in both Campaign 3 and Exandria Unlimited, but Dorian & Fearne would be Campaign Three, while Fearne/Opal would be Exandria Unlimited.

d) If the characters feature in different campaigns and haven't interacted or you're not sure if they've interacted, nominate them within Critical Crossovers.

Use your best judgement, you're not going to be yelled at for getting it wrong.

Are platonic relationships allowed?

Yes! Platonic relationships are allowed and encouraged, and this includes platonic versions of the disallowed romantic relationships. If the platonic relationship has more than 500 fics, though, it also falls outside the guidelines for this exchange.

All relationships where all of the characters involved originate from Exandria (or Ruidis) count. Note that this does not include RPF.

What does it mean for a relationship to not be included? Does that mean that Yasha can’t ever refer to her wife or Vex and Percy can’t ever have a conversation about their kids?

The relationships above aren’t eligible to be included in the nominations, which means that people can’t sign up to have them be the focus of a work. Other relationships can be depicted (unless they are specifically listed in the DNW list), but the requested relationship should be the focus.

Wait, do I have to create something for all of these prompts? I'm not familiar with some of these!

You're only responsible for one work, no matter how many prompts you're given. You can create it based off of any of the prompts that were requested, even if it wasn't one of the ones that was offered, and you can create more than one work if you're feeling inspired (any work after the first would be considered a treat).

Can I create something with a polyamorous relationship where two of the members are part of a popular pairing?

Polyamorous relationships (and friendships featuring more than one person) are considered as a different relationship than a relationship with only two of those characters. This means that polyamorous relationships that include a popular pairing would be included, but also if someone requests A/B, you shouldn’t include a fill that has A/B/C . 

What are the rules for anonymity?  

The expectations are that you keep who you have as a recipient secret - you don't want to spoil the fun! So avoid posting snippets on places that are open for anyone to see them, like bluesky or tumblr, and be very careful in discords. For things like the CR Wildflowers Discord and the Haven discord, avoid posting snippets or identifying information. In other discords where you think you might be the only one participating or one of a few, you can put the information under spoilers. If you need a cheerleader - I definitely understand! Consider messaging a friend that you know isn't participating, or even contacting a frequent kudoser or commenter on your work and ask if they'd be interested in being in on the secret.

How do I get a beta?

You can contact someone you know, or ask around using the above rules, but also - we will be sending out a form for people who would like to beta, and have the list available in the discord and on demand from anyone who might be interested.

I really want to check something with my giftee, how do I do this without breaking anonymity?

Contact a mod, we'll check for you.

What happens after the work submitted deadline? When is my work revealed?

There's a week between when the works are due and when the works are revealed - this is to allow the mods to ensure that everyone has submitted their work and let any possible pinch hits to be written.  

Then there's another week where the works are posted anonymously - don't claim your work on any other site during this week, but you can respond to comments on AO3 (they automatically anonymize you).

After creator reveals, you can feel free to repost your work and claim your work wherever you like.

I missed the sign up, how can I still participate?

Two ways! You can either go through the signup prompts and create a treat up until the last day of the fest. Treats can be shorter or less polished than standard exchange works, (250 words or a sketch), but otherwise are expected to comply with the same rules.

Or you can watch the dreamwidth and the tumblr to see if we need any pinch hitters - you'll be given less time to fulfill your prompt, but you'll be ensuring someone gets something.

What is Deviæ?

Here's the coining post.

As stated in the pinned post, deviæ is the state of your physical traits and can reflect any identity such as transhumanism, transsexual, transspecism, postfurry, physical nonhumanity, misceverses, etc. It can also reflect congenital states (deviborn) in which you believe is physically "unnatural, artificial, or animalistic" such as a prosthetic sex organ or a sleeve. Main things that would determine if one is deviæ is 1) self-identity, 2) the deviation from what people are normally born with (intersex & perisex) without being separated from such, 3) a consistent and prolonged state of self.

Does my identity fall under Deviæ?

There are probably more than 10 ways to be deviæ, especially since it relies so heavily on the "abnormal" and not the "bimodal" seen in perisex and intersex variations. Because of this, this mod cannot tell you what can and can't be deviæ unless the identity doesn't deviate at all.

Are deviæ people all nonhuman/transhuman?

A good chunk would be if we consider the fact that deviæ is made to replace and to reconsider the conversation around altersexness. Deviæ isn't a sex identity itself but describes a sex identity, which is why it encompasses much more than nonhumanity but could describe intersex people on animal HRT or perisex people who are congenitally altered from the "normal". It's a huge umbrella term made to pick up the lost pieces of altersex.

Is deviæ queer/LGBTQIA+? Is deviæ a gender? Is deviæ a disability?

It is complicated on all fronts. There is not one answer to any of these questions given the fact that deviæ means so many different things to people. Deviæ is a queer identity but the mod refers to it as varsex and mogai/liom. The mod would also like to include it in queer/LGBTQIA+ circles because of the importance of varsex identity in queer spaces! This is variable person to person.

Deviæ has the ability to have gendered feelings turn into physical identity when psychosomatic experiences are introduced. This is not counting the idea of "brain sex", which doesn't exist and is intersexist. It is specifically referring to when the brain and body have an incongruence, which can also be effected by disorders or hallucinations or physical nonhumanity.

Deviæ can refer to sex traits that are "abnormal" because of disability, but deviæ isn't a disability itself nor can it cause disability.

What is malspecialia and how is it produced?

Malspecialia is the affirmation or supposed support of deviæ identity and traits only as a way to demean, gatekeep or discriminate. Similar to the concept of malgendering and altersexism, the discrimination against queer and mogai people and their identity, no matter if they're out or passing, has been a consistent, unwanted matter in the culture. This doesn't stop at just them but reaches up into deviæ as a ricochet effect, hitting every group that may apply even when not directly being attacked.

When someone says that because a "physical nonhuman is nonhuman, they can strip their rights to society away", that is malspecialia. When someone claims to support deviæ identities but only when they are non-op or "normal", that's malspecialia. When real bodies are shamed for being "abnormal and animalistic" but fetishized in fiction, that's malspecialia.

Most cases of malspecialia come directly from those who are disgusted or uncomfortable with the topic of transitioning, which is then used to be against transspecies folk and physical nonhumans for their bodies.
