Crozes Hermitage

Vùng đất Crozes Hermitage này có nền lịch sử bắt đầu kể từ những năm 1700, khi mà các dòng rượu vang từ một ngôi làng tên Larnage bắt đầu được phép xuất khẩu sang Vương Quốc Anh bằng cách thông qua Bordeaux. Kể từ thời điểm đó, những loại rượu này được người ta biết đến nhiều nhất với tên gọi là vin de Mure. Cái tên đó được lấy cảm hứng từ tên của một gia đình có quyền thế nhất làng lúc bấy giờ.

Tổng quan về rượu vang Crozes Hermitage Dòng rượu vang đến từ Crozes Hermitage trở nên đắt nhất vào cuối những năm 1800, chúng chỉ đứng sau Cotes Rotie và Hermitage. Cho đến năm 1937, cái tên này chính thức được hình thành và dần được mở rộng quy mô vào năm 1952. Còn việc phát triển thêm về chỉ số ha đất trồng cây nho thì đến những năm 1980 mới được diễn ra.

Vào thời điểm ban đầu được tạo ra, phần lớn rượu vang từ Thung lũng Bắc Rhone đã được bán cho những người có tư tưởng cao. Có lẽ Jaboulet là nhà sản xuất nổi tiếng và thành công duy nhất trong khu vực này. Họ cũng là một trong những nhà khoa học tân tiến hàng đầu. Đó là cách mà khu vực này vẫn tồn tại cho đến những năm 1980.

Trồng trọt ở Crozes Hermitage Crozes Hermitage rộng 1.032 ha, khiến nó trở thành tên gọi lớn thứ hai ở Bắc Rhone. Nằm ở phía bên kia của ngọn đồi Hermitage, ngay phía bắc của Tain, Crozes Hermitage bao gồm 11 xã. Điều quan trọng cần lưu ý là kích thước lớn của vùng này, điều này giải thích một phần tại sao chất lượng của mỗi nhà sản xuất lại khác nhau rất nhiều. The fine wine market’s dynamics, from Champagne’s subtle decline to Italy’s strong resilience, reflect the intricate interplay of supply, demand, and investor sentiment. Select Bordeaux and Burgundy producers saw strong demand in the early months of 2024, mirroring the broader economic narrative of cautious optimism and selective investment. As we move deeper into 2024, these patterns highlight the importance of strategic insight and adaptability in navigating both the fine wine market and the fluctuating global economic landscape.

Last Tuesday, we concluded our first live auction of 2024. It was a true delight having everyone back in the saleroom, and for the room to have the hum and buzz returned. For 6 months in a row, the Bordeaux sector has led the show and in this sale 2000 Chateau Mouton Rothschild achieved the highest hammer win at $1880 which marked the total lot value at $11280. 2008 Chateau Margaux sold for $1057.50, from the same vintage, Chateau Mouton Rothschild sold for $940, and 1981 Chateau Lafite Rothschild also got snapped at $940. Kiwi Bordeaux blends did quite well again, 2010 Stonyridge Vineyard Larose Imperial reached $1586.25, (6 bottle lot) 2012 Stonyridge Vineyard Larose sold for $1128 while 1988 Te Mata Estate Coleraine magnum hammered at $470, 2013 Destiny Bay Magna Praemia sold for $434.75 and 2013 Frenchmans Hill Estate White Horse reached $329.

For Rhone, 1998 M. Chapoutier Ermitage Le Pavillon double magnum scored $1762.50; both 2003 E. Guigal La Landonne and 2003 E. Guigal La Mouline sold for $940, 2010 E. Guigal La Turque followed at $822.50, and 2003 E. Guigal Ex-Voto sold for $763.75; 1995 M. Chapoutier Ermitage Le Pavillon reached the record high of $634.50, followed by 2013 Chateau de Beaucastel Hommage a Jacques Perrin Chateauneuf du Pape at $611.

Italy’s performance has been very steady with gradual increase in past three years. (6 bottle lot) 2005 Tenuta dell’Ornellaia scored $2467.50, both 2003 & 2005 Masseto Tenuta dell’Ornellaia sold for $1233.75, and 2002 Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia sold for $434.75.

Other highlights include (6 bottle lot) 2002 Concha y Toro Don Melchor scored $1128; 2010 Penfolds Grange Bin 95 sold for $881.25; 1992 Dom Perignon Rose Vintage Brut and 2020 Kweichow Moutai sold at the same price at $587.50.

All prices include Buyers Premium but exclude GST.

Château Talbot 1988 og Chapoutiers La Bernardine Châteauneuf-du-Pape 1990 fik mine forventninger til at gå helt i top. Wines of the year, 2023

Given the nature of my work and the fine wine folk I am so lucky to rub elbows with on the regular, I taste thousands of wines each year. These are the ones I remember most fondly: the way they opened the world, the way they centred experience, and all the kind souls that shared them with me.

I will remember 2023 as the year I really shed my ignorance and fell in love with Bordeaux and a year in which my partner and I continued our love affair with Jura Chards and Loire Chenins and entered into a new obsession with the great dessert wines of the world.

This list probably looks unhinged to the non-obsessed haha. Without having a social media outlet these last few years, it feels like some small gesture to the hardworking producers who crafted these works of art to be able to shout them out and thank them for their work. So here were the gems:

Un beau St Joseph rouge qui pourra être dégusté maintenant et dans quelques années sans aucun problème. On ne présente plus la Maison Chapoutier qui fait des vins remarquables.
