The Death and Rebirth.

Sarif Industries Subsection six of the laboratories. Ten minutes past two in the morning.

"Namir, we got what we came for so we can go back," Yelena's voice came over the Infolink. "You didn't leave any traces?" he asked, finishing off a Sarif Industries employee on the way. "Everything's clean. The Whalers did a great job." "Where did they even come from?" interjected a puzzled Barrett. "I have no idea, but there are others for thinking. We had a task, we did it so we're off." "What about Sarif's dog and that girl? All in all, I feel a bit sorry for her, she was pretty," Lawrence stated. "They'll find their bodies or they won't. And you better focus on what's important," Namir rebuked him. "Pretty arses are important, don't say you don't like to fu..." Barrett interrupted. "Well, yes, I forgot that you don't have the equipment," he pointed out. "You instead just do boom, boom, ciao," interjected Yelena.

Namir wanted to knock him down, but as the boss, he had to keep his nerves in check. Before leaving he shot Laura in the belly.

Connor stopped and turned around. He heard no footsteps, only the hiss of broken cables and sizzling flames. He looked around some more and waited a moment, hidden in one of the offices. He wanted to be sure that no one was chasing him any more. In the meantime, he got rid of his Belltower uniform, the wearing of which filled him with disgust. He came out of hiding after a few minutes, then returned to the place where he had left Laura. There he found a fire, the fumes of a choking gas that had yet to subside, and a hole in the wall. He was afraid to look at what was on the other side but had no choice. He covered his mouth with his jacket sleeve and cautiously walked closer. What he saw he did not expect even in his most ghastly imaginings. Laura and Adam were lying unconscious on the ground. The man had a hole in his temple, and glass bristled with sharp spikes covered his entire body. The woman's head was leaning against his torso. Blood was everywhere. Connor took his phone out of his pants pocket and typed a message.

"I have failed. The subject is dead. C." "Are you sure...?" After a few seconds of silence, another message came in. "Code 9136 - Begin Operation Death and Rebirth."

The man bypassed the systems lockout and sent a looped S.O.S call to Pritchard.

"I didn't like you, Adam. But I hope someone finds you."

Sarif Industries. David Sarif's office. Fifteen minutes past two in the morning.

Frank picked up the call for help and immediately ran to Sarif's office. He was never in the habit of rushing, but the situation was exceptional. The elevator was far too slow but it was better than running up the stairs.

"Boss!" he shouted, barely opening the glass door. "Someone survived. I got an S.O.S. signal. It came from the labs." "There's nothing we can do," Sarif replied in a rough voice. "No one from the outside can know, and we don't have the right equipment." "But after all, that's where Adam is," he pressed.

The fact that he hated the Security Chief did not mean that he wished him death. He hoped that Jensen and Megan were alive.

"What about Megan and her research?" he tried to use another argument. "Frank, tell me why do you care so much about the police coming here? After all, it was you who triggered the alarm. You said it was just a drill, and then we were attacked," Sarif's tone was measured. It was hard to hear in it what he really felt. "Boss, you don't think I could do something like that, do you?" asked outraged Pritchard. "I have to consider every possibility, and you temporarily have no explanation," he replied, looking toward the glass wall behind which the outlines of the skyscrapers were visible. "I don't have one, and I won't have one. However, if it is as you think, would I be standing here now? Would I come running with the desire to save anyone? Yes, I could try to divert attention from myself with this, but the investigation would still point to me as the guilty one. If it were me, I would be sitting on some exotic island at the time of the attack. Meanwhile, I myself demand to call for help and save everything we can," Frank explained while catching a few short breaths. His nervousness was perfectly reflected in his words. David rubbed his temple. "You're right, Pritchard, and I believe you. I've known you too long to find you guilty. But this is me. The police will say otherwise. People in the company will talk about it." "I don't care," he growled firmly. "I can be a pain in the ass, but I have my moral backbone."

Sarif was surprised by his candour. Francis had always been rude and narcissistic. He was treating others with superiority, taking advantage, and demonstrating his skills. Meanwhile, he now showed that hardly anyone actually knew him.

"Okay, I'll call in outside help. Most of our people are probably dead anyway, and besides, we don't have the equipment to get to the labs." "We evacuated who we could, but Malik is nowhere to be found."

Sarif Industries Lobby. Twenty-five minutes past two in the morning.

Faridah got off the VTOL in a particularly foul mood. She entered the company slamming the glass doors. Good thing it wasn't so easy to break them. She walked straight to her colleague's office with the intention of telling him where he could shove his stupid jokes, especially on a day like this. Fortunately, Sarif flew on another flight, and the speech isn't until tomorrow so she'll have time to get Megan and Adam to their destination. It wasn't until a long while later that she heard the alarm wail, immediately followed by a flash of blue and red lights pouring into the lobby. At first, she thought maybe someone had fainted, so an ambulance was called, but the din was too loud. She decided to check what had happened. Paramedics and police officers passed her by. She saw the injured and the dead people. Silhouettes kept passing by her, and voices mixed in a cacophony. She suspected maybe there had been an accident. Maybe there had been some kind of explosion in the laboratories. On one of the ambulance stretchers was Adam covered with gold foil. Then she realized it was something very serious. Still, Faridah couldn't believe what she saw, so she pushed the image to the deepest recesses of her consciousness. It could have been someone similar. Everything was happening so fast. She tried to find out what happened but no one answered her. She ran to the elevator and nervously pressed the button. The waiting, as well as the whole way to Sarif's office, were like the worst torture. Athene was not at the reception desk so she entered the office without asking. There she found Pritchard and the boss.

"Faridah! Where have you been?! We've been looking for you everywhere," Frank said.

The woman would have given her head that the head of Cyber Security was glad to see her.

"Some joker ordered me to fly to D.C. He said they had a problem with the plane and needed someone as a replacement. You supposedly agreed to it yourself, boss," she said with anger in her voice.

David's eyes grew unnaturally large. By now he was standing wrapping his side with his left hand and rubbing his chin with his right robotic hand. Hearing her words, both his arms straightened along his torso. The gold ornamentation on the black prosthesis flashed in the light of the spherical lamp hanging from the ceiling.

"I don't know anything about it," he managed to say in just one short sentence. "Holy shit," muttered Malik. She couldn't ask the question, but she had to know. "I thought I saw Adam. They were carrying him on an ambulance stretcher."

They were interrupted by the phone vibrating on the top of the graphite desk. Sarif picked it up, looked at the displayed number and answered.

"David Sarif, speaking," he said in his usual boss tone.

There was not even a hint of sadness, anger or preoccupation with what had happened in his voice.

"Yes, I understand. Thank you for the quick notice. Until we speak again," he ended the call, putting the phone down on the desktop. "Adam died in the ambulance. They didn't manage to get him to the hospital."

Malik felt her legs refuse to obey her. With difficulty, she walked over to the armchair and sat down heavily on it.

"Fuck..." she said quietly, cupping her face in her hands.

Stories of danger, fearless attack, Spectres of plague and pain. All of these ghosts of our own delusions come back; And we'll be haunted again, haunted again.

Location - Unknown. Time - Unknown.

She sank into the darkness as if into a bottomless void. There were whales floating around. She had always wanted to see a whale. A ribbon of blood disturbed the blackness rippling toward the surface. She was falling. Oily shadows coated her, invading her nose, ears and mouth. She could feel them swarming her brain. The unbearable ticking of clocks which suddenly began to ring. A whirling ballerina shattering into shards of golden glass. A meadow of broken orchids. Falling petals of magnolia flowers on a withered tree. The pain. Loneliness. Death.

"Artery forceps! Faster, damn it!" "Pulse is weakening!" "Defibrillation!" "No heart rate." "Again!" "Still nothing."

Silence and darkness. The smell of cinnamon and ginger. No, it’s cigar smoke and the smell of cognac. The stench of sweat, burnt skin and acid. The screams. The crying. Despair.

"I won't give her up so easily! Again!" "No response." "Again!" "She's dead." "Bullshit!" yelled a voice. "Give it to me and move away if you don't want to help." "Let her go."

The body jerked like a marionette moved by its strings. Closed eyes, half-open lips, tousled hair streaks stuck with sweat and blood. Breath. Sudden, nervous and uneven. Flocks of hummingbirds froze in space, whirring their wings. The light breaks up the darkness. It is bright and warm. It explodes into the void with a thousand colours.

"It worked, the heart is beating again." "I knew she would choose life."

Hidden so deep in veils of deceit, Imprisoned in twisting spells - Are we the plaything of fiends, or merely the dreams That we're telling ourselves, telling ourselves?

Stories of danger, fearless attack, Spectres of plague and pain. All of these ghosts of our own delusions are back; Have we been fighting in vain? Fighting in vain?

Location - Unknown. Two days after the attack.

The pleasant coolness of silk bedding. The light irritates the eyelids. Eyes can't accept the brightness. Breathing hurts with life. The whole body hurts. The pain flows with the blood, it's everywhere.

"You are awake. I was beginning to worry," she heard a familiar voice. "What, where am I?" she asked. The words were quiet and clumsy.

An attempt to raise her torso upright resulted in a piercing pain in her left shoulder and abdomen. The woman hissed and sank back against the pillow. Gasping, awkwardness, and being dependent on someone. Something she never liked, but accepted for Joe's sake.

"Don't move or the stitches will burst," commanded the man's firm tone.

She knew the voice, but her mind was too slow, unable to attribute it to a person.

"Who are you? Where am I?" the questions came one after another. The fear could be felt in them. "Calm down. It's me, Connor. You're at my house," he said in a measured tone that was a mixture of friendly concern and matter-of-fact explanation. "A-ha," she wheezed, carefully taking a breath in. "Adam is safe, right?"

He dreaded the question so much that he had several answers ready. None of them was satisfactory.

"Yes, he's in the hospital but he'll be fine."

A necessary lie, for her sake. The truth would kill her, but after all, she should know.

"That's good. At least I didn't screw it up," she muttered. "Will you get me a glass of water? I'm terribly thirsty." "Of course," he replied, reaching for a crystal pitcher standing on a white cabinet by the bed.

He filled the glass halfway and sat down on the edge of the bed. Supporting Laura's head, he slowly slid the vessel to her lips. The woman drank greedily to the last drop.

"I remember almost nothing. How long has it been?" "Two days. The doctors at the hospital gave you strong sleeping pills and sedatives. They had a lot of severe cases, so they agreed to discharge you. Of course, if something were to happen, I am to inform them immediately." "I have to see Adam," she demanded and wanted to get up already. "That's out of the question. You have to recover first and so does he."

The woman gasped. Connor was right, but pride wouldn't let her say it out loud. She wanted to ask about Stalker but the cat came and jumped on the bed.

"You even thought about him. What about Vanilla?" she asked, stroking the cat's head. "Faridah took her. I wouldn't have been able to take care of two cats."

This was acutely true, although he really wanted to take both of them, he didn't have enough room for them to feel comfortable here. His apartment was small, carefully laid out and perfectly clean. Stalker disrupted the order of things only because Connor loved cats as much as dogs. He was even able to forgive him for scratching the sofa and knocking over a flower pot.

"I'll stay until tomorrow and go back to my place," she announced. "We've already abused your hospitality anyway." "Laura, listen carefully because I'm only going to say this once. I have no intention of listening to this self-pity. If I couldn't or wouldn't, you'd be lying in the hospital right now or I don't know where. So be so kind and save this nonsense for someone else."

The woman tried to twist to her right side, but the wound was making itself known too much. Somewhere in the back of her mind stuck the thought that Connor hadn't told her everything.

"I'm going to go prepare breakfast. What would you like?" he asked. "Cereal is enough." "In that case, I'll make toast with salami and melted cheese."

A quarter of an hour later, the man returned to the bedroom with a tray on which stood a large plate of toast, two mugs of hot tea with lemon, a bottle of ketchup, two plates and paper napkins. He took a seat on the bed next to her and immediately got down to eat. Cold indifference is effective in most cases. This was also the case this time. At first, Laura only glanced as more triangles, topped with ketchup, disappeared from the plate. Later, it began to occur to her that Connor wasn't joking at all, and if she didn't hurry, she would be hungry. The hacker took two toasts at once in a quick movement. Managing to bite a piece she heard his laughter.

"What are you laughing at?" she asked with her mouth full. "With you, of course," he replied, still laughing.

The woman furrowed her eyebrows ominously. "Have I become a court jester?"

"Not at all, but I knew this was the only way to get you to eat anything. I don't suppose you're angry about that?" "On the contrary. You're helping me a lot in dealing with all that happened. It was so sudden and precise. Who could have done it?" she wondered. "Don't bother with it now. You'll have time for that during your testimony." "Well, yes, I forgot that the police would ask about everything," she sighed.

At the mere mention of the police station, her mood worsened.

Maybe it was finally getting Eren’s POV, or maybe it was finally seeing the rumbling in nine glorious double page spreads. Either way “Dawn for Humanity” was very well received with close to 70% giving it the highest possible rating, marking this the most acclaimed chapter since chapter 123.

Eren wants to kill “animals” to give a new life to “humanity”

A dawn, or a beginning of a new day, has arrived. Whether this new day is a good or a bad one for humanity, we do not yet know. Everything is still possible, but once this day is over, the world as we know it is no longer here, for better or worse.

A new age for humanity is incoming. The story will end as a tragedy with Eren achieving his goal.

Dawn means the start of the day. So I think the start of the rumbling will be the start of humanity for this world. I think we started to see this with the world fleet being there to try stop eren. I believe every country is helping people flee regardless of race. Maybe I'm just too idealistic.

Dawn of Terror? Dawn of "What The FUCK Is That??" Dawning that the remaining places of humanity are to be trampled?

It could refer to a ""dawn"" for the alliance, who intend for neither side of the conflict to be eradicated, as they believe everyone is part of ""humanity"". Despite their deliberation at the beginning of the chapter, the fact that they're finally setting sail to stop Eren is testament that they've not lost their hope in the pursuit of this ideal, hence they can be interpreted to be the ""dawn"".

Eldians in Paradis Island being free from the wrath of outsiders and being avenged

I think it refers to a new beginning a new start for the eldians living on the island or it can be used as an ironic way that the humanity outside the walls is going to end so it's complete destruction hence the beginning of the new cycle

The Rumbling & Historia's child, humanity's destruction and its rebirth

Continuation of "End's Eve" as this is the dawn of the day where humanity fights for its continued existence

"Dawn" refers to Humanity's realisation of many things. Eg: how Eldia is not a weak nation, how the Rumbling wasn't a lie, how people are people and they are all the same - wanting to live and shedding the same blood no matter what nationality they have. "Humanity" refers to those still alive and realizing these things.

Dawn of the final day - 24 hours remain

  WHAT ARE THE FUTURE IMPLICATIONS OF ANNIE DECIDING SHE'S TIRED OF FIGHTING AND NO LONGER WANTS TO STOP EREN?

Despite learning that her hometown is doomed, just over half of respondents feel confident Annie will stay the course and continue to work with the alliance. Among the rest of responses, 27.4% think this will trigger Annie’s exodus, selecting “Annie will leave the alliance and try to be with her father,” 16.9% believe this will cause Annie to do something stupid resulting in her death, and lastly 4% of the fandom believe this bad news will trigger Annie’s homicidal instincts causing her to switch sides and join Eren.

Annie saying she didn't want to have to be prepared to fight mikasa, Connie, armin, jean, Reiner and eren again made me feel sad for her ;-;

I just wanna say that it wouldn't make any sense for Isayana to bring Annie back and then write her out so it's obvious she will continue in the alliance lol (but I don't really agree with any of the options offered, I think she will decide by herself to stay)

Poor Annie's breakdown made me feel terrible for her. I still think she wants to leave but I think there are chances of the Warriors and/or Armin convincing her to stay and fight. As one of the nine shifters, she kinda has the responsibility to fight, even if she doesn't want to, and I get completely why she doesn't want to, poor thing. I have a sneaky suspicion that she might choose Porco's way out and we might yet see a new holder of the Female Titan power. :(

  WHAT WILL BE THE FATES OF THE ELDIANS IN LIBERIO, SPECIFICALLY THE WARRIORS' FAMILIES?

When asked about the residents of Liberio and the fate of the Warriors’ families, a combined 58% believe that they are alive for the moment selecting that they were evacuated (39.3%) or else managed to escape (18.4%). Close to 30% aren’t so optimistic, believing Liberio is flattened and they are dead. We also had plenty of write in responses:

They are going to die, but I can see Annie meeting her father and die together in each others arm by the rumbling. It's sad I know, but it would be a fitting end for both of them :(

They are probably arrive. Either they overcame the Marleyan authorities that tried to surpress, or The Rumbling avoided Liberio entirely. I just doubt they would kill off Mr. Leonhardt offscreen.

They may have started to fight the Marleyans and then ended up flattened by the titans since they didn't escape earlier.

They took a ship to the south and we will meet them including Reiner's family  and Mr. Leonhart.

Am I supposed to feel sorry for these people? I don't. The Warriors don't deserve happy endings for everything they have done.

They're currently fineish because Eren didn't go where Hange was expecting, hence why all their estimations have been off

I mean, they must be alive somehow. It seemed  that there were only soldiers in Liberio and the others evacuated so I'm hopeful that at least Annie's father survived

I just want Annie to see her father again, and for Reiner to get what he wants.

What if the city Eren attacked isn't Liberio? I feel like it's too important to be flattened just like that (thematical resonance + too many side-characters like Eren's own grandfather are there) and we're being misled about the place Eren is attacking.

  HOW DID YOU FEEL ABOUT HISTORIA'S STANCE ON THE RUMBLING?

Many of us had expectations about Historia going into this chapter. Her initially disagreeing outright with the rumbling but seemingly giving in was a surprise to 8.4% who thought she would have been all for it all along, and 19.9% who never expected her to agree with it at all. 6.4% of you expected her to do the opposite of what is implied, with agreeing at first but changing her mind in the conversation, while 23.3% reported expecting the exact turn of events. What if the "what if I have a child" scene with Historia actually happened EARLIER than the rest of the conversation? It would explain why they switched places, and if Eren really is the father, would explain why he feels he has such a say in Historia's child's future ("even if you agree, I don't" ) , and why when he spoke about the MPs he said "WE have two options: fight or run". It would also give him a  motivation to oppose his friends, since they are trying to stop him.

I don't see his conversation with Historia in romantic light. She was scared of him and Eren was trying to manipulate her with her own words about being ""the worst girl on the world"". We still miss some important parts of their conversation, but if she agreed to help him because he reminded her how ""the worst girl"" she was, then I would be very disappointed. I saw her as strong woman and I hope she will not turn to be a mild sheep who isn't brave enough to follow Ymir's wish and ""live her life with pride"" (or ""live sticking her chest out"").

The majority of the fandom really enjoyed the inception-like flashbacks, but 1/5th just found it confusing as all hell. A sixth of the fandom is just fed up with Isayama blue-balling us. We’ve been in this relationship 10+ years, Yams, it’s time for you to give it up!

Loved the interwoven flashbacks, and made sense considering a lot of the "unknown" conversations(Eren with Yelena, Floch, Historia....) all tie into each other. Made sense to them like this, and plus there is still some mystery from his talk with Historia.

The confusing flashbacks also reflect Eren's state of mind. The placement was well done.

I don't mind it, but i feel Isayama was, to a certain degree, struggling to work all of this information organically into the story, so he was forced to choose this flashback method to get it out there.

The juxtaposition is very purposeful, while I don’t necessarily like what it implies, it is indeed impactful.

The way the flashbacks were placed would look amazing in the anime, but in manga format it looks a lot more confusing!

People might say this is Isayama being mysterious and showing us everything but revealing nothing as he always does, and yeah and if this was 10 chapters ago I might see that as a positive, but this late into the series it feels like it was just a waste of a chapter.

They were good because they connected with each-other; though I had to reread the chapter several times to distinguish who was talking because it flipped so much.

These kinds of chapters are slightly annoying in the moment, but are more than worth it in the long run.

Continuing Eren’s ongoing theme of the question of free will and determinism, this chapter presented us with the possibility that Eren wanted everything that has happened from the start. Depending on your interpretation, of course. The majority of respondents to this question (54.7%) believe that Eren has been convincing himself there was no other possible future due to seeing said future play out in front of his very eyes, and 17.1% somewhat similarly believe Eren did not want this in the conventional sense, and he is an unreliable narrator. A smaller 12% believe this is confirmation that Eren’s vengeful nature caused this, closely followed by 9.5% of you who just think he is a lunatic.

Despite him talking as if this future was fated to happen he still seems aware enough that his own decisions still led to this outcome. From his perspective  all of this was meant to happen because he already saw his future memories, but he doesnt deny that the path he took was still by his own will.

I've given up trying to understand Eren's logic. It's just too bizarre. I will wait until the story is finished to form any opinion about him.

Eren was bored in his original universe and wanted humanity to have a threat so he made the aot universe via Ymir and became that threat himself.

Even if a significant part of Eren wants to eradicate his enemies out of rage/revenge, really deep down it’s been shown he wishes there was another solution but right now he doesn’t want to admit he’s surrendered to his destiny. So Isayama’s going to come back to this by having Eren admit to himself he isn’t really free/this isn't what he wants, which will be the culmination of his character arc (what will he do then?…).

FT/Ymir lets Eren see the memories of all Eldians. It will come up again. I don't get some of the angles/perspectives though.

It's possible some of these things haven't happened yet, or that Eren has access to the memories of more shifters somehow. For example, Berthold might be a memory Annie or Reiner have and Eren will receive if he eats one of them while they try to stop him.

I have absolutely no idea what the deal is with the Falco and Bertolt memories but I'm sure they're not inconsistency errors considering the care that went into showing that the Mikasa/Grisha/Levi etc. panels are clearly from Eren's POV. I expect answers really soon (and no, I do not think he controlled Dina’s titan to kill Carla, that would be pure character assassination). Hange's panel looks like it's from the future, as well as Mikasa's unfamous 'see you later'. The geese are also interesting but I have no mindblowing theories about them unfortunately..

The mystery of the Fez persists once again, with this being the tenth chapter since he was first shown. Though by a small margin, the consensus is that the purpose of his story is to reaffirm Eren’s determination to wipe out the world at 44.8%, with 33.4% of respondents believing he will be a tie to Eren’s compassion and remorse for what he is doing, and 17.1% believing it highlights Eren’s inherent hypocrisy for caring for him even though he will die by his actions later. However I think Eren will not just save him by beating up or killing the Marleyans, but inspiring the Fez kid to take action and "fight" just like he did with Mikasa. This arc has had a lot of focus on the almost inhumane level of violence Eren showed as a kid when killing those kidnappers, so I can see that being for the purpose of a direct parallel where Eren pressured the kid with the fez to stand up for himself.

I think Eren saved Fez-kun of those guys, but then he will kill him later, showing his own hypocrisy (those guys can't do bad to a child but I can).

I expect his shard(s) to contrast the other previously unknown panel from 120: Historia’s shard was revealed to be yet another instance of Eren manipulating a friend by putting his desires above her own, thus robbing her of her free-will. I hope that Fez-kun symbolizes the "beauty in a cruel world"

Despite the threat of Eren Jaeger previously being referred to by name or as “the Founding Titan”, this chapter encapsulated the horror of the allied forces as they recognised it as the Attack Titan. I think the Maryleans/World Forces knew it was the Attack Titan bc of the Eldians in Marley (like Annie's dad) warning them ahead of time. I think once they realized The Rumbling was happening, they asked for more deets from the folks who heard Eren's message in the Path's Realm.

Many have noticed the puppet-like strings connecting Eren’s torso and head to his stegosaurus spikes in the final panel (though not in the first shot we get of Eren -- we’ll just ignore that), but what does it mean? Him being a slave to himself (38%) just edged out him being a slave to fate (36.7%), with a slim minority (3.3%) believing Ymir could be the true puppeteer. Of course, there are the 21.9% of you who are remaining steadfast in the belief that Eren is NOT a slave, he is FREE.

He is a slave to the future memories and instead of trying to find a different way, he is convincing himself that this is what he wants from the start to compensate for how little freedom he has.

The two most powerful and conflicting emotions driving Eren right now have the fanbase somewhat split over what pushes him further. It seems that most are optimistic about Eren’s prime motivation being the wellbeing of his friends at 59.7%. Meanwhile 40.3% believe that Eren’s love for his friends has been eclipsed by the roiling hatred and thirst for vengeance within him. Even at this point in the story, it’s hard to be absolutely certain – safe to say Eren is a real menace when he feels this strongly about anything.

I feel like I finally fully understand Eren's mindset, even though there is probably still more to his POV. He just wants his friends to be happy and live long lives, so he had to push them away especially after Sasha's death.

This chapter Eren can't disentangle love from fear/hate/loss due to what happened to his mother, which is why his feelings about his friends now manifest so destructively.

Eren's memory chain went from remembering his friends smiling, to Sasha's death and Fez-kun being beat up, and eventually to his mother's death and his vow to kill all titans, showing that deep down he knows his motivation to protect his friends is bullshit and that his "enemies" are mostly innocents, but he keeps moving forward due to hatred and revenge.

Eren has never healed his trauma. It was "eating" him slowly and turned him into this he hated the most - a devilish monster.

The transition to Eren's pov and the fact we didn't learn anything new beside some basic confirmations, is really strange. And if Eren ends killing the friends he wanted to protect, he will be a complete disappointment. I really am afraid of SnK's ending.

"I want my friends to live long happy lives" he says after treating them like shit, breaking their spirit, and partially ruining their home island with millions of titans. I hope he doesn't act surprised when they show up to stop him (assuming they can catch up of course).

I don't believe the word "animals" align with Eren's current perspective, nor how he sees his "enemies". He holds the same ideals as he did as a child, but realises the nuance of his enemies and how people on both sides are ultimately the same. He just believes this radical action is the only necessary way to end an unstoppable inter-generational conflict in his lifetime so these problems aren't handed down to future generations anymore.

  ON A SCALE FROM "SECRET PLAN" TO "KILL 'EM ALL", WHERE DO YOU STAND ON EREN'S TRUE INTENTIONS?

This chapter all but confirmed that Eren indeed plans to wipe out the entire outside world for most of the fandom. The majority are skewed towards the opinion of Eren definitely rumbling everything, with less and less respondents holding onto hope that Eren has an alternate plan.

Eren wants this rumbling and he's ready to sacrifice others to get what he wants, even his friends.

I gotta say, I thought Eren would've had a real plan that wasn't just massacring everyone else on the planet. I was already against the plan, but I suspected he'd walk the other side of the ocean and then announce to the world that the existence of titans was no more and destroy all the titans as proof, and all the shifters would just be normal people again.

His goal is to wipe the titans out of this world, and not to flatten it.

I support the rumbling, cause Marley deserved this by trying to eliminate Paradis, but at the same time there are so many good people there(including eldians themselves) that haven't done anything wrong. Military and leaders of marley should be eliminated, but not the poor people that had no choice.

This hateful world is needed to be purged and I support Eren for this. And when Rumbling is over that beast piece of sh** must die by Levi's hand.

I thought eren had a secret plan for the rumbling but after getting his pov this chapter looks like he really is going for it

Somehow, I can't shake off the feeling that we still haven't seen 100% of Eren's plan, there is still some twist waiting. I am not trying to justify Eren's current actions, it's more like ""if there is something that will throw this whole scenario upside down it better come up soon, because right now IT DOESN'T LOOK GOOD"".

I want to believe thtat Eren has a secret plan in the rumbling but the chapter says that this is what he wanted, he had always been like this, he was always “free” sadly, he’s enslaved by his beliefs of freedom that he resorts to these drastic measures.

I think that this chapter confirms two things: one, the Rumbling is Eren's true plan [...] BUT two, there is "something beyond that hell", which is the "scenery" Eren says he saw in ch. 121. I think it's the endgame after the Rumbling is stopped (no way is it going to be completed), and it's what caused both Grisha and Historia to go along with his plan in the end even though they didn't agree with it and thought it was awful. Eren's "everything is still ahead" and the weird cut in Historia's flashback are too... strange and seem to point to this being a game changer and the final plot point of the series.

If the rumble will succeed, then I've spent 7 chapters seeing characters do nothing to accomplish nothing. I don't wanna feel my time wasted.

  WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THE REPEATED BIRD IMAGERY?

Birds are a focal point of this chapter, with the combination of a four-panel tracking of a soaring seagull and a flash of a memory of some nearby geese.   THIS CHAPTER HAD SOME AMAZING ART, SHOWCASED IN THE MANY DOUBLE SPREADS (EXACTLY 9... OH GOD WHAT DOES IT MEAN ISAYAMA??) WHICH WAS YOUR FAVORITE DOUBLE SPREAD?

Whether it was the break back in May, or Isayama’s dedication to highlighting this chapter’s importance, the art has definitely taken a step up and blown us all away. Though it is very split, the final double spread showcasing the commencing of the rumbling garnered the most votes (18.2%). At second (15.7%) was the imposing silhouettes of colossal titans rising from the ocean, and at a very close third (15.5%) was the very next spread, of these titans wiping out the battleships as casually as if they were wading through seaweed. If there’s one thing to make of this from what the winners have in common, we have all definitely been waiting to see the rumbling for a while.

I just wanted to add that this is visually one of the most beautiful chapters I've seen in a while. The colossals, holy shit. I can't wait to see this animated. All of those double-page spreads were pretty fantastic but I have to say there's nothing quite like the chill that runs down your spine when you see all those colossals emerging from the smoke and the mist, where you see for the first time how huge and terrible they are (and also when you realise the first line of defense is already down). I had legit goosebumps.

  CHAPTER 130 MARKS THE END OF A VOLUME, WHICH HAS BEEN FILLED WITH ALLIANCE-FOCUSED CHAPTERS. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS NOW THAT WE'VE FINALLY RETURNED TO EREN?

After six consecutive chapters focusing on the alliance with no Eren, the majority of you (57.6%) are relieved to finally move beyond the alliance, though have enjoyed the recent chapters, with 20.4% being completely over the alliance. 7.4% say they were originally sceptical but the chapters did well to make the alliance likeable to them, and 14.6% are open to more chapters just focused on the alliance.

Please for the love of God more of this and less of the alliance, the alliance was so rushed and as it's continued it hasn't been developed much further beyond plot convenience. The less of that I have to read before I get to read amazing stuff like 130 the better

However, I think the chapter is slightly let down by being cryptic. It's hard to tell what is going on with Eren due to how scenes from this issue and others can be interpreted.

This chapter marks something that has changed everyone's thoughts. Not just about Eren, but Annie, Historia, Zeke, etc. We heard them speak differently, and got a few answers to our questions. We got to see that Annie does indeed have emotions. That Historia did not want this. That Annie never really wanted to kill, nor does she want to anymore. That Zeke actually cared for Eren. That the father is most likely farmer-kun. It's one of the best chapters we've had. Each chapter we get, we get closer to the end of this wonderful story. I can't wait to see what Isayama has planned for in the final chapters. Truly hoping for the best!

Fantastic chapter, though it felt really short

Floch was Eren's lieutenant all along, he was his representative, and his actions are therefore Eren's responsability all the same. Get fucked those who didn't want to believe that Eren would consciously choose Floch, believe in him or to set things up for Eren in Paradis.

I'd like it if the Ackerbond was not as supernatural as it was claimed before. Not because of EreMika, MikaHisu would be much better than both options of this chapter. Now we know that Levi or Kenny's loyalty were real, and it warms my heart. Also, my bastard wasn't lying! He knew about the plan.

It confirmed everything we already knew: Historia didn't support Eren's plan, Ackerman weren't slaves, Mikasa's feelings for Eren doesn't have to do with the fact she's an Ackerman and the fandom is stupid for still believing Eren is the father despite him literally telling Zeke that he can't answer Mikasa's feelings, because he only has 4 years left to live.

My heart was beating so hard during Eren and Historia's conversation because I just couldn't believe we were actually seeing her again, it had been 2 years since we got anything this relevant from her and I also just really wanted Isayama to get on with it and tell us who the damm father was so that we could finally move on to other things. I still don't believe it's Eren, but I'm done with that theory, man. No more teasing, please. Two years is far more than enough.

Chapters like this one, which perfectly captures the culmination of Eren's entire journey, make me glad to be alive at this moment in time to experience Isayama's masterpiece. I'm not ready for this story to end in just one more volume.

I think it's the 2nd best chapter we've gotten this arc. The 1st being 123. I loved it. I also think it's putting to rest the secret plan theories regarding Eren. I've made my final prediction for the series. I think it's a tragedy that will end in Eren destroying the world & manipulating everyone's memories except for Historia & Mikasa & a new age for humanity will begin.

I'm so glad my girl's back, but I'm confused as hell. There's definitly more to her meeting with Eren and her choosing to be pregnant, we'll see. Also Zook being a love conselor and having a Ackerman phd was hilarious, I love him even more. Erefloch canon.

I think that now I understand Eren better. I used to believe he had some secret plan, but the true was always there - Eren is not any master mind. His plan was simple - destroy the whole world. The trauma he had after losing his mother has never been healed. It was always in him, growing bigger and bigger. He still cares about his friends, but he is also lying to himself saying that ""he is doing the rumbling  because he wants to see them having long, happy life"". He is doing it because his hatred to the ones who are responsible for Carla's death took control over his heart. Eren is adult, young man but deep down he is still the same, hurt crying child who bears painful memories of losing his mother.  

The cycle of war and hatred is saddening. This ain't something fictional, it's something we have always been observing from the earliest human consciousness :(

The Godkiller – Chapter 1 puzzle adventure Linux update

The Godkiller – Chapter 1 puzzle adventure game due to be open sourced for Linux with Mac and Windows PC. Thanks to details from developer Seespace Labs. Which is currently available on Steam. Seespace Labs releases its new musical puzzle adventure game The Godkiller – Chapter 1. As promised earlier this year. However, Erik Hermansen, designer, and developer of The Godkiller discusses Linux support further via Steam.

The game is written in Unity so porting to Linux is reasonable, though not free. Before I explore a Linux port, I'm going to open source the game and see what kinds of Linux experts (if any) pop into a new GK open source community. It might be all crickets when I do that, but I've had excellent luck with the OSS approach before.

Although The Godkiller – Chapter 1 is due to work via Proton 6.3-8. Developer Erik Hermansen also points out that a native Linux build is ideal. While welcoming Linux players to contribute to the thread on Steam, but to avoid posting comments as "votes". Which we are all kind of used to by now. Not to mention seeing a shout-out to Linux Game Consortium. But, in a personal email about The Godkiller – Chapter 1, Mr. Hermansen wants to open-source the engine in the first half of 2022. Then publish a wishlist for open source contributions that includes a Linux port. This is a different approach, but it's a process that the developer has success with. Plus I'm very curious to see the outcome.

The Godkiller – Chapter 1 - "It's My World" Trailer

Hermansen, whose previous credits include creating the much-loved DROD series of puzzle games. And also immensely proud of his work on The Godkiller – Chapter 1. "I started developing this game four years ago. And have worked on it nonstop since then. This will be the first release in an epic series. We've already begun work on the next sequel." The Godkiller – Chapter 1 takes classic block-pushing gameplay and adds unique puzzle elements. While including using blocks as letters to create anagrams, death and rebirth as gameplay mechanisms. There are even enemies who’ll push the blocks right back at you. The story follows Emm, who is cast out of Paradise and climbs the afterlife in search of the All-Blocks Plateau. There she may push blocks for eternity. The Godkiller clocks in at 58 levels, 12 vocalised songs, and about 30 hours of playtime for the completionist. Players may claim their loan copy of The Godkiller – Chapter 1 for Man and Windows PC. Priced at $19.99 USD / £15.49 / 16,79€. Officially available on Steam and a demo is already playable via Proton 6.3-8, should you choose to play. As for the Linux build, it's a work in progress. But you can join the discussion via Steam.

Welcome to the second counter summary! We have now examined 200 issues of Cass appearances and/or mentions and that means we’ve covered about half her material – woohoo! So let’s have a look at our counters, both in terms of the current count and its difference to the last count, with the evolution of individual counters in (curvy brackets) and changes in ranking in [angular brackets]:

So, what can we learn from this second counter list?

Well, first of all, the second half of her material so far has been a lot less focused on demonstrating specific traits of Cass. Take the Aphasia counter, for example, which gained 58 strikes in issues 0-100, but only 14 strikes in issues 101-200. This makes sense, as Cass’ character and her abilities have already been established. Now the writers and readers can focus more on the stories and on Cass’s relationships, which happens to be where we find the biggest increase in individual mentions and overall ranking. No other counters in the list grew as much as ‘Batdad’ and ‘Batmom’. Granted, Cass’ relationship to Bruce and Oracle, respectively, had been important before, too, but in contrast to her characterization it remained important. In both cases, Cass grew more independent, by letting Bruce know that her loyalty is to what he represents, rather than the man himself, and by making it clear to Oracle that her idea of a good time is not the same as Barbara’s and that there are different priorities involved.

Of Cass’ individual character traits, the most important ones remained her aphasia, the over-compensation with body language, which she is fond of, her speed and agility, and her battle prowess. On a lesser scale, Cass continues to hold herself to insane standards (it didn’t come up quite as often this time, but it was still noticeable), which also makes her aggressively proactive in combat and liable to blame herself when things go wrong.

Thankfully, the ‘Better Off Dead’ counter is one that froze completely. Yes, Cass still blames herself for her failures a lot. However, ever since she fought Shiva and dealt with her ‘original sin’ – paying for the murder she committed with her own death, her death seeker tendencies have vanished. They have been replaced with Cass’ more sassy attitude instead, a counter which more than doubled. Cass is gaining confidence and I think at least some of it can be attributed to the family no longer considering her the ‘creepy one’. Dick was rarely around for her appearances, but what we do hear and see of him indicates that he genuinely cared about her and looked after her when he could. Tim mostly came to respect her, accept for that one time-travelling dictator-warning-from-the-future bullshit we saw, and Stephanie was, by Cass’ own admission, her first true friend. Also, let’s not forget her fling with Connor (which kind of stopped really suddenly, but still...). Again, Cass was a lot less isolated in these latest 100 issues, although I have to say I’m disappointed the only meaningful interaction we got between her and Leslie this time was in the awful, awful War Games storyline and her interactions with Alfred remain a woeful count-me-on-one-hand few.

That leaves us with the same bottom list of minor character traits and quirks we saw before, none of which changed significantly. Only one other counter increased quite a bit, unfortunately: ‘Dubious Characterization’. It was somewhat predictable, since Cass was handled by a variety of different writers over the last 100 issues, many of which had probably barely read up about her before penning their chapters. It’s not excusable, but understandable. I would like to stay optimistic and say “hey, maybe next 100 will be better”, but then again we still have Robin: One Year Later ahead of us, so, nope, not very likely.

Speaking of future issues, the next counter summary will not take place after issue 300, but after issue 313, which will mark the end of Cassandra’s post Crisis run. At that point, I will start a new counter for New 52 / Rebirth, since those issues technically take place in an entirely different universe and continuity. It will be interesting to see how different the new Cass will be from the original.

because the kingdoms of this world are all temporal in nature, just as the physical body that will be replaced by an eternal spiritual body for those who believe in a sacred act of grace. and this begins with the rebirth of the heart (inside, Anew) by coming to view life through baptism eyes in humility as a child.

Today’s reading of the Scriptures begins with chapter 13 in the book of Mark:

As Jesus left the temple later that day, one of the disciples noticed the grandeur of Herod’s temple.

Disciple: Teacher, I can’t believe the size of these stones! Look at these magnificent buildings!

Jesus: Look closely at these magnificent buildings. Someday there won’t be one of these great stones left on another. Everything will be thrown down.

They took a seat on the Mount of Olives, across the valley from the temple; and Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Jesus to explain His statement to them privately.

Peter, James, John, and Andrew: Don’t keep us in the dark. When will the temple be destroyed? What sign will let us know that it’s about to happen?

Jesus: Take care that no one deceives you. Many will come claiming to be Mine, saying, “I am the One,” and they will fool lots of people. You will hear of wars, or that war is coming, but don’t lose heart. These things will have to happen, although it won’t mean the end yet. Tribe will rise up against tribe, nation against nation, and there will be earthquakes in place after place and famines. These are a prelude to “labor pains” that precede the temple’s fall.

Be careful, because you will be delivered to trial and beaten in the places of worship. Kings and governors will stand in judgment over you as you speak in My name. The good news of the coming kingdom of God must be delivered first in every land and every language. When people bring you up on charges and it is your time to defend yourself, don’t worry about what message you’ll deliver. Whatever comes to your mind, speak it, because the Holy Spirit will inspire it.

But it will get worse. Brothers will betray each other to death, and fathers will betray their children. Children will turn against their parents and cause them to be executed. Everyone will hate you because of your allegiance to Me. But if you’re faithful until the end, you will be rescued.

You will see that which desecrates our most holy place [described by Daniel the prophet] out of place.

Let the one who reads and hears understand.

Jesus: On the day you see it, whoever is in Judea should flee for the mountains. The person on the rooftop shouldn’t reenter the house to get anything, and the person working in the field shouldn’t turn back to grab his coat. It will be horrible for women who are pregnant or who are nursing their children when those days come. And pray that you don’t have to run for your lives in the winter. When those days come, there will be suffering like nobody has seen from the beginning of the world that God created until now, and it never will be like this again. And if the Lord didn’t shorten those days for the sake of the ones He has chosen, then nobody would survive them.

If anyone tells you in those days, “Look, there is the Anointed One!” or “Hey, that must be Him!” don’t believe them. False liberators and prophets will pop up like weeds, and they will work signs and perform miracles that would entice even God’s chosen people, if that were possible. So be alert, and remember how I have warned you.

As Isaiah said in the days after that great suffering,

The sun will refuse to shine,

and the moon will hold back its light.

The stars in heaven will fall,

and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.

Then you will see (as Daniel predicted) “the Son of Man coming in the clouds,” clothed in power and majesty. And He will send out His heavenly messengers and gather together to Himself those He has chosen from the four corners of the world, from every direction and every land.

Jesus: Learn this lesson from the fig tree: When its branch is new and tender and begins to put forth leaves, you know that summer must be near. In the same way, when you see and hear the things I’ve described to you taking place, you’ll know the time is drawing near. It’s true—this generation will not pass away before all these things have happened. Heaven and earth may pass away, but these words of Mine will never pass away.

Take heed: no one knows the day or hour when the end is coming. The messengers in heaven don’t know, nor does the Son. Only the Father knows.

So be alert. Watch for it [and pray,] for you never know when that time might approach.

This situation is like a man who went on a journey; when he departed, he left his servants in charge of the house. Each of them had his own job to do; and the man left the porter to stand at the door, watching. So stay awake, because no one knows when the master of the house is coming back. It could be in the evening or at midnight or when the rooster crows or in the morning. Stay awake; be alert so that when he suddenly returns, the master won’t find you sleeping.

The teaching I am giving the four of you now is for everyone who will follow Me: stay awake, and keep your eyes open.

The Book of Mark, Chapter 13 (The Voice)

Today’s paired chapter of the Testaments is the 28th chapter of Deuteronomy where Moses gives a choice to the Israelites of the blessing or the curse, in choosing to follow God and His commandments or refusing them to stray to other gods.

and there is a choice for each of us here on earth Today, in either choosing or rejecting rebirth that is being offered by God in the True illumination of the Son where we find spiritual and eternal life. for apart from Light there is only spiritual death in the end.

[Deuteronomy 26]

Moses: If you listen closely to the voice of the Eternal your God and carefully obey all the commands I’m giving you today, He’ll lift you up high above every other nation on earth. All of the following blessings will be yours—in fact, they’ll chase after you—if you’ll listen to what He tells you.

Moses: You’ll be blessed in the city and blessed in the fields.

You’ll be blessed with children and crops and cattle.

Your herds will multiply, and your flocks will increase.

Your basket will be blessed; it will be full at harvest time,

and your kneading bowl will be blessed; you’ll always have plenty of bread.

You’ll be blessed when you go out of your home

and blessed when you return to your home.

When your enemies attack you, the Eternal will defeat them for you. They’ll come against you from one direction, but scatter and flee chaotically from you in seven different directions. He will bless your barns, and they’ll be full of grain; He’ll bless everything you do. You’ll be blessed throughout the land He is giving you. The Eternal will make you a nation that belongs to Him in a special way, just as He promised He would, if you’ll obey the commands of the Eternal your God and live as He wants you to. Every other nation on earth will see the Eternal has called you by His own name, so they’ll be in awe of you.

The Eternal will give you more than enough of every good thing—children, cattle, and crops—as you live on the ground He promised your ancestors He’d give you. He will open up the reservoirs of water in the sky and make the rainy seasons come each year, so that everything you do will be blessed. Your produce will be so abundant that you’ll lend to many nations, but you won’t have to borrow from any. He will make you the head, not the tail; you’ll always be on top and never on the bottom—if you’ll just listen to the commands I’m giving you today from the Eternal your God, and obey them carefully. All these blessings will be yours if you don’t deviate at all, neither to the right nor to the left, from any of the things I’m commanding you today, if you don’t go and worship other gods!

Moses: But if you won’t listen to the voice of the Eternal your God, if you don’t carefully obey the commands and regulations I’m giving you today, then you’ll experience all of the following curses—in fact, they’ll come after you!

You’ll be cursed in the city and cursed in the fields.

Your baskets will be cursed, and your harvests will be small.

Your kneading bowl will be cursed, and you’ll always be short of food.

Your children and your crops will be cursed.

Your herds will dwindle, and your flocks will shrink.

You’ll be cursed when you return to your home and cursed when you go out from your home.

Eternal One: I’ll oppose everything you try to do! I’ll send curses and panic and setbacks until you’re destroyed, suddenly and completely, because of the evil things you did when you abandoned Me!

Moses: The Eternal will strike you with plague—consumption and fever and inflammation—in the land where you’re going to live, and it will never leave until none of you are left alive there. He’ll afflict your land with heat and drought; He’ll afflict your crops with blight and mildew. All of these things will keep coming after you until you’re destroyed! The skies overhead will be like a bronze shield that no rain can penetrate, and the land beneath your feet will be like iron that no seeds can sprout through. Instead of rainstorms, the Eternal will send dust storms down on your land, and you’ll be destroyed. He will hand you over to your enemies already defeated. You’ll attack them in an organized unit from one direction, but you’ll scatter and flee from them as scared individuals in seven different directions. Every kingdom on earth will tremble with fear when they hear what happens to you. Your dead bodies will lie unburied in the open field. The wild birds and animals will eat them, and no one will chase the scavengers away.

The Eternal will afflict you with all kinds of incurable skin diseases, such as the boils that were a plague in Egypt; you’ll suffer tumors and scurvy and itch, but you’ll never find relief. He will afflict you with severe, incurable boils on your knees and legs, and they’ll spread until they cover your whole body, from the soles of your feet to the top of your head.

The Eternal will afflict you

with madness and blindness and confusion.

As you try to figure out which way to go in life,

you’ll be groping around the way a blind person gropes in the darkness,

even in the middle of the day.

You’ll never find your way, and you’ll never be prosperous.

You’ll be exploited and robbed all the time, and no one will rescue you.

You’ll get engaged to a woman, but another man will violate her.

You’ll build a house but never live in it.

You’ll plant a vineyard but never enjoy its fruit.

Your ox will be slaughtered as you look on helplessly, and others will eat it.

Your donkey will be taken away from you and never returned.

Your sheep will be given to your enemies, and no one will help you get them back.

Your sons and your daughters will be given to foreigners as slaves. You’ll always be watching for their return, until your eyes grow dim, but there will be nothing you can do to bring them back. Foreigners will eat up all your crops and take everything else you’ve worked for. You’ll be oppressed and abused constantly. You’ll be driven mad by what you see! The Eternal will send all of you, including your chosen king, into exile, to a country you’ve never heard of, not even from your ancestors. There you’ll worship other gods made of wood and stone. Whenever the people who live in the places where the Eternal has sent you want to scare someone or insult someone or teach a lesson, they’ll say that what happened to you is going to happen to them. Your name will be synonymous with disaster!

You’ll sow many seeds, but you’ll harvest only a few because locusts will devour them before they produce. You’ll plant vineyards and tend them, but you won’t drink any wine or collect any grapes because worms will eat them. You’ll have olive trees throughout your territory, but you won’t anoint yourself with oil because the trees will be diseased and the olives will drop off before they ripen. You’ll still have children, but they won’t stay with you; they’ll be taken into captivity. Your orchards and crops will be infested with buzzing locusts. The foreigners who live in your country will rise higher and higher above you, while you sink lower and lower in every aspect of life. They will lend to you, but you won’t lend to them; they’ll be the head, and you’ll be the tail. You’ll experience all of these curses—they’ll chase after you and overtake you and destroy you—because you did not listen to the voice of the Eternal and obey the commands and regulations He gave you. These curses will test you and leave you in awe of His signs and wonders against you and your descendants forever.

Moses: Because you didn’t serve the Eternal your God in joy and gladness when you had an abundance of everything, you’ll serve the enemies the Eternal sends against you, in hunger and thirst and nakedness and destitution. He’ll put an iron yoke on your neck until He’s destroyed you.

The Eternal will bring a nation from far away, from the ends of the earth, and it will swoop down on you like an eagle. This will be a nation whose language you don’t understand, a ruthless nation that doesn’t respect the old or spare the young. They’ll eat up your young cattle and crops until you have nothing left. They won’t leave you any grain or new wine or oil, or young animals in your herds or flocks. And that lack will kill you. They’ll lay siege to all of you and all of your cities throughout the land the Eternal your God is giving you, until the high, fortifying walls you feel so safe within have all been knocked down all over your nation.

These enemy sieges will cause you so much hardship that you’ll resort to cannibalism! You’ll eat the flesh of the sons and daughters that the Eternal your God has given you. Even the gentlest, most sensitive man among you will turn against his brother and his beloved wife and the rest of his children who haven’t been exiled. He won’t even give them anything to eat from the flesh of the children he’s devouring because the hardship of the enemy siege will be so severe in every city that he’ll have nothing else to eat himself. Even the gentlest, most delicate woman among you, who wouldn’t even let her foot touch the ground because she’s so refined, will turn against her beloved husband and against her son and daughter. She’ll feel no compassion toward any other children she bears and no delicacy about the afterbirth when it comes out. She’ll eat her newborns and the afterbirth in secret because the hardship of the enemy siege will be so severe in every city that she’ll have nothing else to eat.

If you don’t carefully obey every word of this law that’s written in this book, if you don’t fear your God’s glorious and awesome name, “Eternal One,” then He will strike you and your descendants with extraordinary plagues that will be widespread and long-lasting, with serious, persistent illnesses. He’ll bring back all the Egyptian diseases you were so afraid of when you lived there, and you’ll suffer from them continuously. He will even afflict you with diseases and plagues that aren’t written about in this book of the law until you’re destroyed. Only a few of you will be left, even though there used to be as many of you as there were stars in the sky, because you wouldn’t listen to the voice of the Eternal your God. Even though it used to give the Eternal great pleasure to do good things for you and to increase your numbers, He’ll delight in killing and destroying you completely. You’ll be torn from the land you’re going to possess, and He will scatter you among all the nations, from one end of the earth to the other. There you’ll worship other gods, made of wood and stone, that you and your ancestors have never worshiped before. Among those nations you’ll never be at rest, and you’ll never be able to settle down. Ok, I’ll scream more about how this episode was absolutely stunning later, but right now something else came to mind, which has to do with certain theories related to chapters 93 and the upcoming 94. That certain something regarding Ymir I’ve talked about before. With an Ymir centric episode today and chapter 94 upon us, I think it’s a good time to bring it up. Let’s go!

So, I’ve talked before about why I believe Ymir’s still alive. General weirdness with the wording in the talk between Galliard and Reiner, Zeke’s titan manicure, the lack of an actual corpse when one more panel alone would’ve been enough to clarify “yep, that’s that, he’s eating her”... There’s a lot that doesn’t quite click. Again, this is Isayama, he doesn’t shy away from brutal deaths, and this is the same man who tricked people to believe Jean was shot to death after 58 for a whole month and that made people think Historia had spiraled down so far she turned into a titan in 65. Tricking people like that is his thing.

And then we get this episode. See, Isayama likes his timing with this lately. The season starts, the manga gives us confirmation with how Zeke turned the people from Ragako. We get episode 5 which had anime only people thinking Ymir died for a little, the manga gives us “confirmation” that Ymir died (plus Galliard being Marcel’s brother and whatnot). And I don’t doubt Isayama was the reason behind them adding the Ymir flashback here, being the moment of Ymir’s “rebirth” so to speak, so if Ymir was revealed to be alive in 94 that’d be fitting, wouldn’t it?

This episode also takes strides towards making some of the inconsistencies with Ymir’s “death” very clear. The biggest one being the memory talk. Again, 4 of the shifters we know of have confirmed they have no memory of who they ate. We didn’t see if Armin would remember on his own because he’s informed almost instantly. Galliard is very vague with his wording, Pieck hasn’t even had a chance to bring it up, and we know Zeke has royal blood so he can tap into memories the way Rod and Historia can. And I don’t remember if Uri remembered his predecessor, just the first king, or all who came before him. If anything, they questioned Ymir about that because Zeke’s still the one major exception Marley knows of regarding memories as they don’t know of his royal blood.

And finally, something I’m not sure I’ve brought up before: Numbers. If you included Pieck and Zeke besides the characters we saw in Reiner’s flashback last chapter, you’d have 7 to make for the 7 titan powers Marley has. It’d be really strange if Galliard’s the only one who they said “nope, you’re not getting a titan power” when the number fits perfectly and they’d still need a titan as deterrent on their own lands. Think about it. They send 4 of their titans to Paradis to get the founding titan, 5 years pass and they have nothing so Zeke goes to check and confirm the strength of people there. Marley relies too much on titan power, they’d at least have 1 or 2 inland just in case.

And now let’s look at Reiner’s flashback again. He sees his 4 warrior friends separate from him, and him as himself. With the current set of warriors, Colt would inherit the Ape Titan, and then we have 4 more warriors rather than 6. Why exactly do we have 5 warrior successor candidates? Because, when you include Ymir’s power separately, Marley has 5 powers with them: Zeke, Pieck, Reiner, Galliard... and Ymir.

So yeah. With that fresh in mind, and Ymir’s backstory and her “rebirth” happening a week before the new chapter, and Isayama’s MO, I think it’s entirely likely Ymir’s still alive, and that she’s still being kept alive for her power to be inherited to one of the new warriors. First one in line gets the armored titan, yes, but what would make Reiner and Falco’s struggle more futile than them all being in line to inherit those powers regardless?

Thousands of Americans gather for Fourth of July protests across the US

More than a hundred heavily armed Black Panthers descended on the country’s largest Confederate monument to demand its removal, while demonstrators burned American flags near Trump Tower as tens of thousands across the country attended Fourth of July protests. 

On Saturday, as Donald Trump hosted hundreds at the White House for a July Fourth fireworks display, thousands of Americans ditched their traditional cookouts and celebrations for rallies and sit-ins, including a march in Washington DC in the searing 90-degree heat near the National Mall.

Flag burnings were also seen in Washington, as well as in New York City outside the Trump Tower, and on Trump’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star.

And at the nation’s biggest Confederate monument, which has been used as a meeting place by the KKK, the Black Panthers gathered to demand the removal of the racist sculpture.

Armed Black Lives Matter activists and right-wing groups came together in Richmond, Virginia on Saturday in a united show of support for the 2nd Amendment at an Open Carry rally

In Georgia, as many as 100 reported members of the Black Panther Party descended into Stone Mountain Park as calls to remove the Stone Mountain Confederate Memorial boomed.

Stone Mountain Confederate Memorial, a nine-story-high base-relief sculpture carved into a sprawling rock face northeast of Atlanta, is perhaps the South’s most audacious monument to its pro-slavery legacy still intact. 

Despite long-standing demands for the removal of what many consider a shrine to racism, the giant depiction of three Confederate heroes on horseback still towers ominously over the Georgia countryside, protected by state law.

It, as well as many other Confederate statues, have become a debate between Americans who argue they celebrate hate ideologies and those who believe it honors the traditions of the South. 

Photos taken at Stone Mountain Park showed a crowd of armed Black Panther Party members hidden behind various face coverings on Saturday. 

The Black Panther Party, originally named the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense, was founded in Oakland, California, by then-college students Bobby Seale and Huey Newton in 1966.

The political group was initially founded to monitor the behavior of Oakland Police Department officers, who were accused of police brutality, with armed civilian patrols called ‘copwatching.’

More than  50 years later, the current protests over police brutality have picked up where the founders left off after the death of George Floyd and several other Black Americans by law enforcement.

‘Here we are in Atlanta, the birthplace of the Civil Rights Movement and still we have the largest Confederate monument in the world,’ said Gerald Griggs, a vice president of the Atlanta chapter of the NAACP civil rights group, which staged a march last week calling for the carving to be scraped from the mountainside. 

‘It’s time for our state to get on the right side of history.’

Stone Mountain has long held symbolism for white supremacists. The Ku Klux Klan, a hate group that was formed by Confederate Army veterans and has a history of lynchings and terror against Black people, held its rebirth ceremony atop mountain in 1915 with flaming crosses.

Longer than a 100-yard American football field, it features the likenesses of Jefferson Davis, the president of the 11-state Confederacy, and two of its legendary military leaders, Robert E. Lee and Thomas ‘Stonewall’ Jackson, notched in a relief 400 feet above ground.

The largest confederate memorial in America is carved out of the rock at Stone Mountain Park, as seen on February 3, 2019 in Stone Mountain, Georgia. The site is linked to many Klu Klux Klan gatherings and the state of Georgia’s resistance to the Civil Rights movement in the 1950’s and 1960’s

The Sons of Confederate Veterans is an organization that staunchly defends Stone Mountain and other Confederate statues and emblems.

Dedicated to teaching the ‘Southern Cause,’ according to its website, it believes their removal is akin to purging American history.

Klansmen still hold occasional gatherings in the shadows of the edifice, albeit now met with protesters behind police tape. Many of those cross-burnings took place on or around July 4 

But with the rise of the Civil Rights Movement, segregationist officials in the state pushed for the creation the Stone Mountain Memorial Association in 1958 and purchased the park. The carving was completed in 1972.

‘This debate has been going on for years, and we’re sensitive to it,’ John Bankhead, a spokesman for the group, said. 

‘We want to tell history as it is, not as some say it is.’   

New York City

Further north, residents brought their fight to the front steps of President Trump’s 58-floor Trump Tower on Saturday with chants, protest signs and even several instances of flag burning.

Footage taken outside of Trump Tower near New York City’s Columbus Circle showed a large group of demonstrators reportedly with the Revolution Club preparing to set the flags ablaze.

A speaker at the event cited ‘police murder, terror and mass incarceration of Black and Brown people’ as one of many for why the ‘United States of America is irredeemable.’

A large America flag was set on fire while people chanted ‘slavery, genocide and war…America was never great.’

The burning flag was then set on the ground and fellow protesters used to fire to lit smaller American flags.

According to FNTV, the group did one flag burning in Columbus Circle and one directly in front of Trump Tower.

New York City Police Department officers were reportedly at the scene and watched as the American flags were burned.

An NYPD truck stationed near Trump Hotel played the Star Spangled Banner through speakers afterwards.

In Brooklyn, New Yorkers held a ‘Confronting July 4th’ rally to honor Black and indigenous activists, USA Today reports.

The groups reportedly ‘refuse(s) to celebrate the whitewashing of this country.’

Event organizer Jo Macellaro referenced a speech by abolitionist Frederick Douglass, titled ‘What to the slave is Fourth of July’ as still relevant today.

‘So much of it is still relevant,’ said said. ‘What does the Fourth of July mean to people who are still oppressed, marginalized – who don’t have all the freedoms we’re supposed to have in this country?’

The expansive and large protests even stopped traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge on Saturday evening, CNN reports.

‘Due to protest activity, all Brooklyn-bound lanes of the Brooklyn Bridge are closed. Consider alternate routes and allow for additional travel time,’ the New York City Emergency Management announced on Twitter.

The New York Police Department said there’s an estimated 1,200 orderly protests inundating the city as part of the United New York Fourth of July Rally & March. 

Washington, D.C.

Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to converge on Saturday in the heart of Washington, where U.S. President Donald Trump will host an Independence Day fireworks display and military flyover  

Disregarding the Washington mayor’s warnings of the risk of gathering as many U.S. states mark a record number of new COVID-19 cases, crowds began to assemble early on a hot Saturday morning.

Police officers blocked off streets around the White House, Black Lives Matter Plaza and the Lincoln Memorial, where demonstrators planned to join one of the dozen organized protests in advance of Trump’s nighttime address on the South Lawn.

Protesters in Richmond, Virginia, gathered near the now-defaced Robert E. Lee statue on July 4. The Confederate monument was one of many that have been damaged since protests began in May

Activist groups pledged to hold peaceful protests for reforms following the May killing of George Floyd. 

Similar to New York City, protesters were pictured burning several American flags in defiance of both Trump and prejudice policies. 

Trump’s Fourth of July event follows a Friday night speech at Mount Rushmore in South Dakota where he accused ‘angry mobs’ of trying to erase history and used the speech to paint himself as a bulwark against left-wing extremism. 

Roar of the Deplorables, a bikers group, said via social media that they, too, were planning to gather in Washington on Saturday to stand in protest against what they call ‘the anti-Trump regime’ and to celebrate the nation’s birthday.

Freedom Fighters DC, a new activist group which seeks to rally an ethnically diverse generation of supporters behind liberty for all people, especially the Black population of Washington, is one of the anti-racism groups ignoring the mayor’s heed to refrain from gathering.

‘Black folks are not free from the chains of oppression, so we don’t get to truly celebrate Independence Day,’ said Kerrigan Williams, 22, one of the founders of the group, which will host a march and an arts demonstration on Saturday afternoon.

‘We’re marching today to showcase that Black folks are still fighting for the simple liberties that the constitution is said to provide.’President Trump has repeatedly been critical of the Black Lives Matter movement and has unequivocally sided with law enforcement. 

Richmond, Virginia 

Armed Black Lives Matter activists and right-wing groups came together in Richmond, Virginia on Saturday in a united show of support for the 2nd Amendment at an Open Carry rally.

At least 200 people, the majority proudly toting rifles, semi-automatic weapons and other firearms, gathered outside Capitol Square to protest against gun control and the violation of constitutional rights. 

The rally, organized by activist group Virginia Knights, also served as a memorial for Duncan Lemp, a 21-year-old man who was fatally shot in his Maryland home in March during a no-knock police raid.

‘Duncan Socrates Lemp was our brother unjustly murdered in his sleep [under] the same laws in Maryland that Governor Northam has signed into law in VA.’

Organizers said they aimed to show Governor Northam ‘that we stand strong as patriots, Americans, and free men and women’. 

Photos showed protesters, from both ends of the political spectrum, mingling as they exercised their right to bear arms.

Among the crowd of guests was Virginia state Senator Amanda Chase, who is running for governor.

Chase, strapped with a rifle, spoke to activists on her stance on police and the ongoing protests taking place across the nation.

‘We don’t have any tolerance for bad apples,’ she said. 

‘We mostly have good police officers that do the right thing. And I don’t believe in defunding the police, but we need to help people who have mental health issues. We need to add more, not take away,’ she added.

The event comes six months after a Virginia gun rights rally that drew more than 22,000 armed activists to the state’s capitol building to protest gun-control legislation making its way through the newly Democratic-controlled state legislature.

The protest came after Governor Northam banned carrying weapons onto the capitol grounds.

Social groups rely on physical spaces to meet and build connections, step outside oppressive social structures, avoid policing and violence, share information, provide support, and organize politically. Conversion therapy is the controversial, non-scientifically based process which aims to convert an individual's sexual orientation from homosexual to heterosexual. Although it has been discredited by all major American medical, psychiatric, psychological and professional counseling organizations, some therapists still offer the service for reasons almost exclusively rooted in a conservative religious belief system.

The filmmakers had unfettered access to individual therapy sessions, family sessions, and a collection of weekend camps, and have crafted an emotional and psychological thriller which chronicles two years of Nathan's journey from acceptance to skepticism, all leading to a profound epiphany.

To A More Perfect Union: U.S. v. Windsor tells a story of love, marriage and a fight for equality. The film chronicles two unlikely heroes, octogenarian Edie Windsor and her attorney, Roberta Kaplan, on their quest for justice: Edie had been forced to pay a huge estate tax bill upon the death of her spouse because the federal government denied federal benefits to same-sex couples...and Edie's spouse was a woman.

Deeply offended by this lack of recognition of her 40+ year relationship with the love of her life, Edie decided to sue the United States government - and won. On June 27, 1969, a police raid on a Greenwich Village gay bar took a surprising turn when patrons decided it was time to fight back. As a riot erupted outside the Stonewall Inn, a new era in the Gay Rights Movement was born. Vito Russo, a 23-year-old film student, was among the crowd. Over the next twenty years until his death from AIDS in 1990, Vito would go on to become one of the most outspoken and inspiring activists in the LGBT community's fight for equal rights.

In the midst of his involvement with Act Up and the fight against AIDS, Vito was also a prolific writer. His seminal book The Celluloid Closet explored the ways in which gays and lesbians were portrayed on film, what lessons those characters taught gay and straight audiences, and how those negative images were at the root of society's homophobia.
