“Lily, I don't want to go to the race! He’s going to be there and think I’m stalking him”, you groaned. It had been two weeks since your boyfriend, well ex-boyfriend Matt, dumped you. He was a mechanic for Williams who had been introduced to you by your best friend Lily. 

“Oh y/n don’t be so dramatic! You’re going to put on your hottest outfit and show him what he’s missing, okay!” she said as she threw you the best form fitting jeans money could buy. Unknown to you she had an ulterior motive. Lily felt bad that she and Alex had introduced you to Matt and they needed to make up for it. Alex had heard through the grapevine that the Charles Leclerc had seen you at a party and mentioned to Alex he thought you were cute. So what better person to match you up with. The plan was to somehow get you two alone but how… that would be difficult. 

You and Lily walked into the paddock, your eyes darting back and forth looking out for your ex. “Lily I feel nauseous, I don’t want to run into him!” you cried grabbing her hand. 

“Y/n don’t worry! We’re not hanging out in the Williams garage today, I’ve got passes to the Ferrari garage”, she sing-songed. A huge smile appeared on your face. How lucky to be in the presence of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc. 

“Someone likes that idea..” Lily joked seeing your big smile. She texted Alex that the plan was a go. It was time to get Charles in place. 

You both entered the Ferrari building and noticed Alex was randomly in the building. “What’s he doing here?” you questioned. 

“Uh not sure, let’s go find out!” Lily said as she dragged you towards him. That’s when you noticed he was talking to Charles. You felt your face go hot. As you both walked up to them, Alex started to introduce you but then like a ghost Charles disappeared. 

“What the-” Alex said shocked, turning every which way looking for Charles. Then he spotted him, he got snatched by his PR person for an interview. “Sorry y/n” Alex said defeated. 

“Haha no worries, I’m not important enough for him to talk to”, you joked. You linked your arm with Lily and walked to your standing area. Lily turned and gave Alex a mad look. Plan A failed, time for Plan B. 

You watched as they went through FP1. You felt like you and Charles kept making eye contact but maybe your head was playing tricks on you. If you hadn't known better you could’ve sworn he kept smiling at you too. 

“Come on y/n, let’s go find a table to have lunch. Alex said he’d join us later with some friends”, Lily explained. You both settle into a table waiting for your guests. 

“Hey man!” Alex said as he patted Charles on the back. “Thanks for joining our lunch!”. Your eyes nearly pop out of your head as you see who the special friend was. “You know Lily, and this right here is our dear friend y/n”. 

Charles smiles and reaches for your hand. “Nice to meet you y/n”, he grins. You shake his hand grimmacing at how sweaty your palm was. 

“N-Nice to meet you too. You did great out there!”, you stammered a bit. The conversation started slow but the more you all talked the better it got. Almost as if Lily and Alex weren’t there and they got the hint. Lily texted Alex that it was time to dip.

“Oh well me and Lily have to uh- we have to leave!” Alex stupidly explained. You and Charles looked at them with confusion and you so more with panic. They couldn’t leave you alone, not with him! Lily gave you a thumbs up and mouthed ‘You got this!’ as they both ran away. 

Now without the presence of your friends it started to get… awkward and silent. Funnily, Alex and Lily had actually hid behind some bushes watching. 

“Alex, we left too early, it looks bad now!” Lily cried. 

“Don’t you worry, I’ve got something to break the ice” Alex slyly says as grabs a tennis ball from his pocket. 

“What the hell is that for?”, she sternly says. 

“Well I don’t have a bow and arrow, so I have to improvise” he giggles. They watch as you and Charles sit there both trying to find something to say. When all of a sudden a tennis ball goes flying and hits your drink glass shattering it to the floor. 

You both jump out of your seats and look around for where it came from. You look at him and fall over laughing. “I think the universe is trying to tell us something” you wheeze. 

“I think the universe is telling us to get out of here” Charles smiles. You give him a confused look. “Let me take you out to lunch in town, somewhere better”, he says confidently. 

“Oh!” you grin feeling your cheeks blush. “I would love that”. He grabs your hand and starts to lead you to the parking lot. 

Lily and Alex jump from behind the bush and silently cheer. “You are the stupidest cupid Alex Albon”, Lily laughs at her boyfriend. 

“Hey! It worked though, look at them… a perfect pair”, he giggles.

You and Charles walked hand in hand down the paddock towards his car. Just then the one person you had avoided all day walks past you. Matt does a double take as his mouth falls open. Turning to meet his gaze you give him a wink and snuggle more into Charles’s side. 

Hopefully this match made by cupid turns out better!

Life at My Cottage:

The whole family loves to spend time outside exploring the land and especially by the lake near by.

Sophie will take the kids to garden with her; William always sneaks in some snacks when they pick strawberries.

Benedict (with the assistance of their neighbor Mr. Crabtree) built some swings outside the moment they found out Sophie was pregnant.

One afternoon they went for a picnic by the lake. With the sun high and full of splashes, the children all fell asleep as Sophie read them Alice in Wonderland. Benedict captured the moment with his charcoals and it’s his most cherished drawing.

It’s not surprising to find a cousin at My Cottage.

Sophie loves to hear the children play and laugh as she bakes with the windows open.

Charles always takes the lead when they go exploring. He must make sure all of the trees are safe to climb for his siblings (and secretly he wants to be first).

Alexander is always bringing Violet back flowers when he goes out since she can’t walk just yet.

In the few quiet moments, Benedict and Sophie like the dance as the sun goes down as their children snicker not so quietly from behind the bushes. An impromptu dancing lesson then ensues.

On September 7th 1815, explorer John McDouall Stuart was born in Dysart, Fife.

Descended from a family steeped in military service, Stuart was born in in a sixteenth-century home which now houses a museum in his honour, as seen in the pic. He was the son of army captain William Stuart and his wife Mary (née McDouall). Orphaned in his early teens, he attended the Scottish Naval and Military Academy, Edinburgh, and graduated as a civil engineer.

At the age of 23 he embarked on the Indus from Dundee, arriving at Holdfast Bay, South Australia, in January 1839. He entered the Government Survey Department and, despite primitive conditions in survey camps, found that nomadic life in the bush appealed to him. A man of small stature, his life became a constant battle against ill health and poverty. Assigned as draughtsman for the 1844-46 expedition of Captain Charles Sturt into the interior, Stuart gained valuable experience and received his leader’s full approbation. Sturt’s failure to reach the centre of the continent inspired Stuart’s later achievements.

Returning to Adelaide in January 1846, Stuart was incapacitated with scurvy for twelve months and moved to Port Lincoln for health reasons, while recovering he worked for fellow Scot and shipmate James Sinclair on his properties and tutored the Sinclair children.

In 1854 William Finke and the Chambers brothers, James and John, engaged him to survey leases and prospect for minerals in the northern Flinders Ranges. Between May 1858 and January 1860 Stuart led three expeditions into the Lake Eyre region, seeking new grazing lands and minerals for his sponsors.

In contrast to Sturt, Stuart travelled quickly with limited supplies. Horses were his only means of conveyance. On his first attempt to cross the continent, he reached the geographical centre of Australia on 22nd April 1860, accompanied by two companions and twelve horses --- a feat later described as ‘the greatest and pluckiest exploration ever accomplished’. He tried again the following year but it was not until 1862 that he finally made it to the northern shore.

In poor health Stuart returned to England in 1864, nearly blind and with a broken constitution. He died on 5th June 1866, a forgotten hero. He was buried at Kensal Green Cemetery, London, with a memorial stone erected by his sister Mary.

As a result of Stuart’s expeditions, the nature of the Red Centre was revealed, South Australia gained control of and settled the Northern Territory, and vast areas of the interior were opened up for European settlement. In 1872 the Adelaide-to-Darwin Overland Telegraph Line was completed along Stuart’s route.

His statue was erected in Victoria Square, Adelaide in 1904 and Central Mount Stuart, the Stuart Highway and Stuart Range are named in his honour. The John McDouall Stuart Society was founded in 1964 by descendants of his companions to perpetuate his name and achievements.

A second statue of Stuart can be found in Alice Spring. The statue has been hounded by controversy since it was gifted to the Alice Springs Town Council in 2010, with some saying the work is culturally insensitive. Protests accuse him of not asking permission to enter the land and of killing Arrernte people."You came to Mount Hay and you killed our mob," a letter from Aboriginal elders said. "You went to Attack Creek and you killed more of our mob. This is murder and we can't forget it." it continued.

The Australian Aboriginal singer Warren H Williams also spoke at a protest rally, mocking the size of the gun and calling for the statue to be removed.

"This fella has destroyed both Arrernte and Warramungu [people]...look at the statue, it's a big gun," he said.

"They put a statue up of him, but never asked anybody, even the white people in this town if they can put it up..."

There are numerous memorials to Stuart around South Australia.

More than 100 former national security officials from Republican administrations and former Republican members of Congress endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday after concluding that their party’s nominee, Donald J. Trump, is “unfit to serve again as president.”

In a letter to the public, the Republicans, including both vocal longtime Trump opponents and others who had not endorsed Joseph R. Biden Jr. in 2020, argued that while they might “disagree with Kamala Harris” on many issues, Mr. Trump had demonstrated “dangerous qualities.” Those include, they said, “unusual affinity” for dictators like President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia and “contempt for the norms of decent, ethical and lawful behavior.”

“As president,” the letter said, “he promoted daily chaos in government, praised our enemies and undermined our allies, politicized the military and disparaged our veterans, prioritized his personal interest above American interests and betrayed our values, democracy and this country’s founding documents.”

The letter condemned Mr. Trump’s incitement of the mob attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, aimed at allowing him to hold onto power after losing an election, saying that “he has violated his oath of office and brought danger to our country.” It quoted Mr. Trump’s own former vice president, Mike Pence, who has said that “anyone who puts himself over the Constitution should never be president of the United States.”

The letter came not long after former Vice President Dick Cheney and his daughter, former Representative Liz Cheney of Wyoming, both said they would vote for Ms. Harris. Democrats featured a number of anti-Trump Republicans at their nominating convention last month, including former Representative Adam Kinzinger of Illinois. Mr. Pence has said he will not endorse Mr. Trump but has not endorsed Ms. Harris.

The 111 signatories included former officials who served under Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush or George W. Bush. Many of them had previously broken with Mr. Trump, including two former defense secretaries, Chuck Hagel and William S. Cohen; Robert B. Zoellick, a former president of the World Bank; the former C.I.A. directors Michael V. Hayden and William H. Webster; a former director of national intelligence, John D. Negroponte; and former Gov. William F. Weld of Massachusetts. Miles Taylor and Olivia Troye, two Trump administration officials who became vocal critics, also signed.

My name is William Charles. I've been on this case for the last 3 years. Random disappearing children are high in Ebott City. No one had ever found out how these children qwere disappearing. People blamed it on the "monsters," but I don't believe these claims are true. These disappearances started 45 years ago before the monsters were free or known. After 3 years, I'm frustrated. I haven't found any clues or footage of these kids' last locations.

I was so close to giving up, but it seemed whatever higher power up there had mercy on me and gave me a breakthrough in my case. Somome tipped the police station about a building that was in the forest, and they saw kids enter it but never left. I'm on my way there now to see what is going on, and hopefully, I can get a clue on what this is about. When I went near the area where the person saw the building, I couldn't find anything. No road, no lights, not even a mailbox.

Thinking it was another joke, I kicked a rock and saw it go through the bushes. I was about to turn away and head back to my office, but the rock I kicked made a noise. It was like it was hitting something metal. When I looked behind the bushes, I was met with 12ft (3m). The gate was huge, thick, and had barbwire on top of it.

When I looked past the gate, I saw the building that the person who gave the tip talked about. It was small, but I could instantly tell part of it was underground. I wouldn't have paid any mind to this building if I didn't notice the guards. They were holding weapons and seemed to be guarding the building.

While I stared at this building, the more I felt unsettled. It seemed that whatever this building was hiding, It was dark. I watched as some guards spoke and seemed to change positions. I took this as my chance to quickly duck out of the bushes and away from the fence so I wouldn't be seen or heard. I quickly ran a distance away before calling it in.

"I need back up. I think I might have just found something bigger than what we were expecting."

"Again!" I watch as 1-X03E8 was thrown to the ground again by the other hybrid, known as 2-B01KP. We have been trying to train 1-X03E8, so they don't rely on their magic. Since 1-X03E8 was awakened from their tank, almost 6 years ago, I've noticed how quickly they were able to catch onto things and adopt. Which was good for what is coming for them into the future but also bad since they can learn they have the power to go aginst our orders. When we made that revelation, we made sure to put shockcallers on all of the hybrids so they could stay in like and we can control how much magic they can use.

"Again! Do not try to use your magic! Fight with your fist! You are supposed to be the ultimate super weapon!" I yell at 1-X03E8. Kicking them. They get up, nod, and continue to fight 2-B01KP. While I watch, a guard comes up to me. "Sir! We have a high number of vehicles near our facility." "Do we have eyes?" "No sir!" "Then pay no mind intel they are in range." "Yes sir!".

"Alright, enough training for today. 2-B01KP, you did well today. 1-X03E8, I am very disappointed. Both of you, back to you're cells!"

The two hybrids nod and slowly make their way back to their cells.

Disappointed? Disappointed?!? How dare he say that! It's not my fault he put me up against someone who was more human than a monster! 2-B01KP was almost 3 times my size! Can't believe he put me against him. He knows I'm better at using magic than anyone in this place, but he makes me fight in hand to hand combat?!?! I know I need to be ready for everything, including me, not able to use my magic, but still! I would rather run than fight someone who could snap me in half just by looking at me.

While I sit in my cell, I look over myself. Thin bones, all tattered with cracks and scars from the beatings and fighting.

What am I? They say I am the next savior, and I'm gonna make the world a better place. What's wrong with the world? What does it look like? Are there other places like this? I know im a skeloton, but they say I'm also human. How? I don't look anything related to them.

While I was looking at my bones, I felt the ground shake to the point the electric bars of our cells cut out a few times.

I heard the other hybrids yelling and asking questions. Whatever it was, it was a big concern since the base alarmed went off. They only went off if a hybrid was getting out of control or trying to escape....I wonder who it was this time.

Me and other hybrids watched as gaurds ran past our cell, yelling about a breach. What's a breach? While we watch the guards run past us, we all heard gun shots. "4-72E6! What do you see!!!" 4-72E6 was a hybrid who was at the end of the cells. Closes to the gun shots. "I don't know! I can't get a close look, but it seems whoever broke in is winning!" "Is this a training exercise?" One of the hybrids asked while I walked back and forth in my cell. "Don't think so" I say "if it was, those gaurds wouldn't get involved. We soon saw somone we never saw before. He ran and stopped infront of our cells.

"Holy shit! Guys, there are more of them!" When he came closer, I growled at him and tried to form a magic attack, but the collar was preventing me from doing so.

When I growled, all the other hybrids in the cells started to growl to. When more of those strange men came, they had wepons we never saw. One of them came to the cells and spoke. "You all are safe! Yiu will be taken and taken care of by our hospitals. Come along quietly, or you will be tranquilizezed."

I could see the looks of confusion and fear that passed in the hybrids that I could see in my cell. I don't doubt I had that same look. When they typed into the pad next to our cells and the electrical bars dropped. We attacked. I saw 2-B01KP attack first, picking up the nearest strange person and tearing him in half. We all saw the guts fall out of the dude while he screamed in agaony. So they were human. Easy to kill. We all killed them the way we knew how. Low and painful. I went up to one of the humans and shoved my hand through it's chest, grabbing its heart and tearing it out.

Its body armor was nothing compared to my strength. I watch the life from the human eyes slowly drain and go dull. When I was about to move to the next human, we all heard a gunshot and saw 2-B01KP drop like a fly. He had some weird thing in his arm. We all stayed still while we watched 2-B01KP just collaps when he tried to stand up. He was the biggest out of all of us. We heard another gunshot and watched 4-72E6 drop. Something clicked and I knew we dident stand a chance. So, I did the most logical thing. I ran. I tore through the humans, killing a few while passing them. The other hybrids close behind.

We heard the humans yell, "Don't let them get out!" And we heard bullets past us. When we saw light from the dark corner, I took that direction. Some of the other hybrids took the other way, but I heard gunshots. Idiots. I ran through the doors, and the first thing I saw was more humans but next to strange metal boxes. They aimed at me, but I quickly ducked unerneth there bullets or whatever they were and ran toward the weird metal wall. When I started to climb over it, I saw it was covered in a weird metal string. For once, I was thankful for not having flesh. I got over the metal wall and ran into the weird green things. I heard a loud shot, louder I have heard yet, and someone yelling. The next thing I knew, I collapsed with a surging pain in my side. When I looked down, one of my rips was shot off and laying on the ground. It dusted right before me. I quickly got up and ran. Soon, I didn't hear the yelling, shots, or alarms. I quickly climbed high in the weird brown poles and sat up there. I gently lifted up my clothes and saw my injured rib. It wasn't healing. This dam collar... I gotta figure out how to take it off, but how....what's that big blue thing with white puffy things?

It's been 4 years since red, edge, blue, and stretch came here. We got then their IDs, but it was hard. Red, stretch, and I have been trying to fix that god dam machine but we could never get it to run. We decided to call it a day and have a movie day. Even though edge is complaining, we decided to watch some random show. And that's where we are now. Infront of the small ass TV arguing about what to watch.

"We are not watching you're dumb ass metteton show! Our metteton is better!" Edge yells at papyrus. "Well, they aren't here, are they? So we will watch our metteton!" "How about the news? Somthings always interesting on there!" Blue chimes in, trying to help calm down edge. "Fine! If it means i don't need to watch that softys metteton." Edge grumbles and sits on the couch next to red. Papyrus flips on the TV, and the news came up. It was talking about new monster laws or something. When they started to talk about monsters and human marriages, they stopped. They then started to talk about something big. While I watched, it showed a bird eye view of a building with police cars all around it. Also trees. In the video they were showing, it shows some type of monsters being rolled out. "...the hell is dat?" Red asked while he leaned toward the TV.

"Breaking news! A agency was cought doing human and monster experiments! They have found a way to make monster humans before monsters came to the surface. It seems this agency was planning to make an army.......we just got word that soke experiments have escaped. So we must tell you that if you see any monster or human acting weird or dangerous, do not approach it. Call you're local emergency survises. I will say it again, do not approach the experment-"

The then shuts off. "HEY!" "The fuck" "what?" "The hell dude!" "I was watching that!" Everyone yells. Papyrus gets up and goes to check the TV.

"Its out." Everyone groans but stays quite. After a bit, red breaks the ice. "So...human and monster hybrids...guess you're world ain't all sunshine and rainbows." "Shut up." I tell red while thinking about what he said. "Well... now we need to keep a look out for those hybrids. I bet they are so scared and confused!" Blue says while jumping up and down. "No." I cut in. "We can't do that. We don't know how dangerous they are. We don't even know if they are capable of thinking."

The group stays quite but understand where sans is coming from. "I shall out more traps up incase a hybrid cones through." Edge says and walks out of the front door. "Oh, I should do the same!" Blue says while following edge. Papyrus following not far behind. Once they are gone, red spoke up first. "....so....if we find one?" "Call 911...." Red nods at sans awnser. "Hopfully we don't come across one...." Stretch says while he pulls out a lollipop.

Ball turret gunner Sgt Benedict Borostowski at his station on B-17F “Invasion II”. The plane would go down over Oldenburg, Germany after taking flak and having its number 2 engine shot off by Luftwaffe fighters.

17 April 1943, Target: Bremen, Aircraft Plant While over the target “Invasion 2nd” took flak hits and was attacked by German fighters. Three fighters came in head-on at 1200 O’clock level and shot off the front of the No. 2 engine. Cpt. O’Neill rang the bail-out bell and called out over the intercom for the crew to leave the aircraft. The ball turret gunner, T/Sgt Benedict B. Borostowski, came up into the fuselage and went to the partly open waist door. The door was jammed and would not open further. The waist gunners, S/Sgts William B. King, left waist, and Eldon R. Lapp, right waist, were sitting in front of the door, unable to squeeze out. Sgt Borostowski stepped up and one at a time put a foot between their shoulders, and in turn, pushed both gunners through the narrow opening. The others in the rear of the aircraft had already left. The tail gunner, S/Sgt Aaron S. Youell, dropped through the tail escape hatch. The radio operator, S/Sgt Charles J. Melchiondo, and the flight engineer, T/Sgt Harry Goldstein, went out through the bomb bay. There was no one left to push Sgt Borostowski out. So, he went to the tail escape hatch and dropped out. The rest of the crew, including Cpt O’Neill and the copilot, 1Lt Robert W. Freihofer, bailed out through the nose hatch. The bombardier, Cpt Edwin R. Bush, detached the Norden bombsight and tossed it out the escape hatch before following the navigator, Cpt Edwin M. Carmichael, through the opening. All crewmen survived to become POWs.

Tom Hiddleston, Jenna Coleman, Sheila Atim and David Tennant are among the stars celebrating London’s stage talent at the 67th Evening Standard Theatre Awards on Sunday.

They will be at the event at Claridge’s joining Tuppence Middleton, Omari Douglas, Layton Williams, Hayley Atwell, Jake Shears and his Cabaret co-star Rebecca Lucy Taylor, AKA Self Esteem, among others, to hand out awards.

The event, hosted by the newspaper’s proprietor Lord Lebedev with the help of Ian McKellen, is presented by Susan Wokoma. The writer and actor, who played Edith in the Enola Holmes films and whose stage work includes appearances at the Bush, the National and the Royal Court, is about to start work on Three Weeks which she will direct and star in.

She said: “Theatre is always a labour of love and London stages have faced their fair share of difficulties in the last few years. So I think it’s paramount we celebrate excellence while we can.”

Among the awards presented on the night are best play, best actor and the Milton Shulman Award for best director which is named after the Standard’s late theatre critic. Other awards include the Natasha Richardson Award for best actress in association with Mithridate and the Charles Wintour Award for most promising playwright — named in honour of the paper’s editor for many years.

Also awarded on the night is the Lebedev Award, which is given to an individual or institution for lifetime achievement or a specific critically-acclaimed piece of work or series as well as two special Editor’s Awards.

Among those in the running are Paul Mescal, shortlisted for best actor for his role in A Streetcar Named Desire, with his co-stars Anjana Vasan and Patsy Ferran up for best actress. Mescal is up against Andrew Scott, who won in 2019 and is shortlisted for Vanya, as well as Paapa Essiedu for The Effect, and Mark Gatiss for The Motive and the Cue. The shortlist for best actress is completed by Rachael Stirling for Private Lives and Sophie Okonedo for Medea.

Also in the running is Nicole Scherzinger for Sunset Boulevard. She is nominated for best musical performance along with Charlie Stemp in Crazy For You, Kyle Ramar Freeman in A Strange Loop and Marisha Wallace in Guys & Dolls.

James Graham’s Dear England is shortlisted for best play alongside Jack Thorne’s The Motive and the Cue, Sam Holcroft’s A Mirror and Ryan Calais Cameron’s Retrogade.

Previous winners at the awards, which were first presented in 1955, include Dame Judi Dench, Dame Maggie Smith, Ralph Fiennes, Laurence Olivier, Benedict Cumberbatch, Gillian Anderson and Glenn Close.
