Her 2 idiots had gone and decided it was perfect opportunity to get arrested. And boy were they successful in their mission.

" I just don't understand why on earth you'd do it?"

Kevin leaned against the metal bars that seprated them , his hands in his pockets as he avoided direct eye contact with his girlfriend.

" because it's something we really had to do"

Ben sat on the metallic bed across them with his hands on his sides, slowly voicing in a serious tone,

" No Gwen , we really did. We couldn't come this far and not know what could've been"

Gwens eyes widened as she almost yelled, " what could've be-- JAIL! That's what it could've been. And now it is!"

They all stared at each other in silence , trying to figure out how to break it without arguing.

The redhead was getting into her bathrobe an hour ago when her phone rang suddenly.

" heeeeeeyyyyyy Gwen. So um funny thing, it's really funny you're going to laugh so hard....... hahahaha um ..so canyoubailusoutofjailrigtnowplease okay bye"

It was then an hour of tracking down which station they were in and then negotiating with the officer for bail.

" babe, we're really sorry "

The red head glared at her boyfriend " sorry for attempting this or sorry you got caught?"

" uh we choose the right answer" replied the brunet. If they told her they were sorry for getting caught, she'd yell at them for trying to do what they did. If they tell her they were sorry for trying , she'd yell at them for lying to her. There truly was no one right answer in this scenario.

Gwen closed her eyes and pinched the bridge. " you know what the most infuriating thing about this whole situation is? The fact that this was the second time you guys you've tried to steal some stupid video and yet you still got caught. How??"

They boys looked at each other and shrugged.

Kevin had got a tip that the newest sumo slammers game was being shipped in while they were there on a mini vacation. When he told Ben about it, they both figured it would be a fun little adventure to try to steal it this time again, for old time's sake since they never really did accomplish the task when they were younger. They figured they were older and more skilled , it wouldn't be hard.

They were older sure, but unfortunately not wiser. They began arguing who would go which direction once inside the warehouse, leading to them have a little shoving and eventually tripping the security alarm.

"I mean come on. It's a little warehouse on the dock, not a super secret FBI base" she said , a little mockingly.

" Oh yeah, well we'd like to see you try to get in, Bet you can't even make it past the entrance" Kevin challenged her.

She straightened up , a little offended with her skills being challenged " oh please I could do it in my sleep"

She used to steal books from Hex's library, this in comparison would be piece of cake.

" talk's cheap. get us that game and prove it" Ben smirked.

She narrowed her eyes at them " you're on." she said as began walking to the officers desk to see how much longer the bail process was going to take.

The boys looked at each with smug smiles on their faces and fist bumped. They were finally going to get that game.

People are going to be writing books forever on what a bad year 2020 was. But as Susan Eloise Hilton said in 1971: “That was then, this is now.” Or as Michael J. Fox said in “Back To The Future” — “That was now, this is then.” Well, whatever. The fact is that 2020 sucked and 2021 can't help but to be better as author and activist Timothy Pina said: “Everything will usually get worse before it gets better... Forgive but never forget. Let Karma take care of all the rest.” That said, Karma has a lot of catching up to do. Imagine what Karma has in store for The Donald and his family. Orange could be the new Trump family uniform color. Imagine Donald in the chow line in prison. “Not shit on a shingle again!”And what awaits Mitch McConnell. How could Karma possibly even the score with that sonofabitch. Shit on a shingle is way too good. And don't think Mike Lee and Sean Reyes are gonna walk away unscathed. They probably won't lose their Temple Recommends — but maybe they'll get called on missions to San Salvador or Kabul, Afghanistan. Fortunately, that's all for Karma to figure out and it will be quite a challenge. Post script — Well, that's a wrap for another year here at Smart Bomb where you don't have to keep track of Trump's pardons, because our staff does it for you. This is the time of year, of course, when people make New Year's resolutions. But some jaded folks refuse to because they know they won't follow through and don't want to get even more depressed before Groundhog Day, which in and of itself is a cruel joke. Normally in January the gyms fill up with people who have resolved to get in shape. Others resolve to quit smoking. And some say they will never drink another drop of eggnog for the rest of their lives. Here at Smart Bomb, the staff has made a few New Year's resolutions, too: Some have resolved to eat less bacon. Bacon makes everything better — even hideous stuff like brussel sprouts and asparagus — but like everything else that is good, bacon is not your friend, despite what Jimmy Dean says. Wilson and the band say they are going to draw the line on tofu, which is cheap because they don't eat tofu, anyway, claiming it's not a food but a building material. At the end of the day, the best resolutions are the ones where we try to be kinder to the people we hate — or at least bite our tongues when we're thinking about what shitheads they are. Today I will be talking about my favorite clothing brand, Uniqlo.

Uniqlo  is a Japanese casual wear designer, manufacturer and retailer. The company has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Fast Retailing Co., Ltd. since November 2005. The company operates in Japan and several other countries.

Since March 1949, a Yamaguchi-based company, Ogori Shōji (which, until then, had been operating men's clothing shops called "Men's Shop OS") existed in Ube, Yamaguchi.

In May 1984, they opened a unisex casual wear store in Fukuro-machi, Naka-ku, Hiroshima under the name "Unique Clothing Warehouse". Initially, from the contraction of "unique clothing", the brand was going to register under "uni-clo". However, in 1988, during administration work between Hong Kong in relation to the brand, staff in charge of registration misread the "C" as "Q", and that is how the brand name was born. From then, Tadashi Yanai changed the store name to "uniqlo" across Japan. In September 1991, the name of the company was changed from "Ogori Shōji" to "Fast Retailing", and by April 1994, there were over 100 Uniqlo stores operating throughout Japan.

 In 1997, Fast Retailing adopted a set of strategies from American retailer The Gap, known as "SPA" (for specialty-store/retailer of private-label apparel), meaning that they would produce their own clothing and sell it exclusively. They engaged the retail brand consultancy, CIA, Inc. / The Brand Architect Group, to guide the company through the realization of this strategy, including consulting on merchandise, visual merchandising and display, store design and a new logo designed by Richard Seireeni and Sy Chen of The Brand Architect Group's Los Angeles office. Uniqlo had begun outsourcing their clothing manufacturing to factories in China where labour was cheap, a well-established corporate practice. Japan was in the depths of a recession at the time, and the low-cost goods proved popular. Their advertising campaigns, clothing quality and new retail layouts also proved fruitful.

In November 1998, they opened their first urban Uniqlo store in Tokyo's trendy Harajuku district, and outlets soon spread to major cities throughout Japan. In 2001, sales turnover and gross profit reached a new peak, with over 500 retail stores in Japan. When Uniqlo decided to expand overseas, it separated Uniqlo from the parent company, and established Fast Retailing (Jiangsu) Apparel Co., Ltd. in China. In 2002 their first Chinese Uniqlo outlet was opened in Shanghai along with four overseas outlets in London, England.

2005 saw more overseas expansion, with stores opening in the United States (New York City), Hong Kong (Tsim Sha Tsui) and South Korea (Seoul), their South Korean expansion being part of a joint venture with Lotte. As of year-end 2005, in addition to its overseas holdings, Uniqlo had around 700 stores within Japan By 2006 sales were $4 billion. By April 2007, the company had set a global sales goal of $10 billion and a ranking among the top five global retailers, joining what at the time was Gap, H&M, Inditex, and Limited Brands.

Fast Retailing signed a design consulting contract for Uniqlo products with fashion designer Jil Sander in March 2009.] Shiatzy Chen has been approached by Uniqlo to produce a capsule collection of ready to wear pieces to launch in November 2010 while Asia's largest Uniqlo store outside Japan opened its doors in Kuala Lumpur in the same month.

In April 2014, Uniqlo opened its first store in Melbourne, followed by two new stores opened in Sydney in fall It then expanded its first stores in Queensland in late 2015, with the introduction of two Brisbane stores at the Queen Street Mall and the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre. There are currently 12 stores in Australia by mid-2017.

Bangladesh

Uniqlo entered the Chinese mainland market in 2002. As of June 2017, there were 545 stores in China, the second largest number of store after Japan, including in Beijing, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Chengdu, Nanjing, Ningbo, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Shijia, Tianjin and Xi'an.

In May 2011, the magazine Shukan Bunshunpublished a story alleging that Uniqlo had forced employees at its stores and factories in China to work long hours for little pay. In response, Uniqlo unsuccessfully sued the weekly's publisher, Bungeishunjū, for ¥220 million for libel.

A 2015 online video of a couple having sex in a Beijing Uniqlo store changing room became notorious among Chinese internet users. Chinese police arrested at least five people in connection with the incident, allegedly including the couple and three other disseminators of the video, for having 'severely violated socialist core values'. The New York Times noted that the store's exterior had become a popular venue for people to gather and take pictures in poses reminiscent of the video.

France

On November 17, 2014, Uniqlo opened its first store in Eastern France (and the second store in France outside Greater Paris) in the city of Strasbourg.

Germany

Their German flagship store opened on 11 April 2014 at Tauentzienstraße, Berlin.

South Korea

In November 2011, Uniqlo generated more than 2 billion won ($1.7 million) in one day's sales on November 11 when it opened Asia's largest flagship store in central Seoul. The sales figure was the highest ever set by a fashion outlet in Korea. As of July 2017, there were 178 stores in South Korea.

Indonesia

Uniqlo opened its first store in Indonesia on June 22, 2013, at Lotte Shopping Avenue. As of September 2017, Uniqlo has opened twelve stores across Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya.

 Philippines

Uniqlo opened stores at SM City Fairview on June 14 and Glorietta on June 28 2013. Uniqlo Philippines COO Katsumi Kubota said that the company is opening at least 200 outlets in the country by 2020, when he was interviewed at the SM City Clark during the third anniversary of the global retail brand. It started with five branches three years ago and now has 27 stores.

Thailand

6 stores were opened between 2015 and 2016 in Bangkok (3), Chiang Mai, Surat Thani und Pattaya. They also operate a On-Line Store.

United Kingdom

Ambitious expansion plans in the early 2000s were reversed, with 16 stores being closed in 2003,] including those in Manchester, Coventry, and Leicester.

United States

In November 2006, Uniqlo opened its first store in the SoHo fashion district of Manhattan, New York City. New fashion designers joined the store's team to boost and rebirth fashion concepts catering to the US market. As of July 2017, there were 45 stores in the United States. As part of Fast Retailing's 2020 plan the company has stated that it plans to generate $10 billion in annual sales in the United States from 200 stores, which will lead to a location in every major U.S. city. This goal was stated when the company's only U.S. presence was its handful of stores in the New York City area, soon after the company began an aggressive expansion in the United States.

In October 2015, Uniqlo opened its first store in the Midwest with a flagship Chicago store on Michigan Avenue.

Regardless of your personality, or goals for the trip, there’s a neighborhood that can satisfy the greatest of expectations—and get you drunk at the same time. Go all Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen on the Upper East Side, embrace your inner hipster in the East Village and Alphabet City, and act like you’re better than everyone else in the Meatpacking District. Or go everywhere and do it all, quasi inebriated. That’s the beauty of the Big Apple! Here’s how to bach it up once you’re there.

How To Get There

The great news about choosing Manhattan as your bach HQ is that it’s easy as hell to get to. If you live in New England or the Tri-State area (NY, NJ, CT) you can drive, train, or bus into the city (not that we suggest the latter, though…it is your bachelorette, after all). And if you live anywhere else in the country, or world, you can fly directly into one of three airports: JFK, LaGuardia, or Newark. There are about a million flights that go in and out of NYC every day, at all hours, and on all airlines, so booking your travel will be the easiest part of your trip. That means more time for researching bars, obvi. It’s also pretty cheap to get to Manhattan and flight deals can be found on sites like Orbitz, Kayak, and Expedia, starting at $50-60 one way, depending where you’re flying from. If you book far enough in advance, you’re only looking at a couple hundred dollars for a roundtrip ticket. That’s less than what you’ll spend on hotels, food, and drinks, and think of everything you can spend that extra cash on like strippers! quality bonding experiences with your mains.

How To Get Around

We’re pretty sure this city was plotted out with tipsy girls in mind, it’s that easy to navigate. If you have a Type A personality in the group, have her schedule your nights, because arranging dinner, drinks, and after-party spots in the same neighborhood means you can just walk (or try balancing three sheets to the wind in heels) from one venue to the next, without having to go too far. When you need to get back to basecamp, because someone’s on the verge of passing out, Ubers, Lyfts, and cabs are your best friend. They’re everywhere you need them to be, reasonably cheap, and some even come with saintly drivers who honor wasted song requests mumbled from the back seat.

Check. Posh rooms and corner suites for pregaming, glamming, and sleeping in style? Check. A rooftop oasis with a pool and bar? Check. (Jimmy at the James is the jam, as is Gitano Jungle Room downstairs) and it’s in SoHo. You don’t do NYC without doing SoHo.

Lotte New York Palace: If you’ve never watched Gossip Girl, we don’t know you, but if you have, you’ll immediately recognize this one as the courtyard where Blair, Serena, and co. used to REIGN. The Palace is the city’s largest luxury hotel (with a whooping 909 rooms and suites) and perfect for bachelorette groups traveling to New York City. They offer room blocks and extended stay rates, but you’ll want to book in The Towers as they’re recently renovated and more royally appropriate for this kind of event. Bagatelle: Smack dab in the heart of the Meatpacking District, Bagatelle is a “New York Institution,” and a given for bachelorette shenanigans. Co-Living Grows Up – The New York Times

New Yorkers have long shared apartments in order to afford the city’s famously high rents. This, of course, often entails hunting down an apartment with a real estate agent — and paying a broker’s fee, plus a hefty deposit — then furnishing the place, lining up roommates and getting electricity and internet service up and running.

For several years, co-living companies have been popping up, providing a fast, streamlined alternative in the form of fully furnished, move-in-ready rooms in shared apartments.

Lately the trickle of co-living activity has become a torrent.

Homegrown companies are expanding into new neighborhoods. Brands that have built up their businesses elsewhere are planting their flags here. And even traditional real estate companies are getting into the act.

“No one wants to be left behind,” said Matthew Polci, a managing director at Mission Capital Advisors, which has been financing an increasing number of co-living projects.

With so many in the pipeline, Brad Hargreaves, chief executive of the Brooklyn-born co-living company Common, predicts that the number of co-living rooms in the New York today — over 25,000, by some estimates — is a “fraction of a fraction of what it will be.” His own company, which he founded in 2015 and now operates in six cities, has 520 rooms in 20 buildings in New York alone, and more on the way.

Although there are differences among co-living companies — some focus on communal life with comfy lounges and social activities, others emphasize getting out into the neighborhood — all do essentially the same things: trick out rooms, hook up utilities, hire housekeepers to clean and maybe replenish toiletries, match up roommates — and charge a monthly rent that covers all of the above. They also offer wiggle room in the lease term.

But as more co-living companies muscle their way into New York — and competition among them heats up — some are upping the ante. They are jazzing up the décor in their buildings. They are giving some rooms private bathrooms and adding full-fledged studios and one-bedroom apartments so a resident can graduate from a shared apartment to his or her very own place. And they are not only retrofitting apartments in existing small- and medium-size buildings but also working with developers to add co-living to new large-scale projects — or even planning their own buildings from scratch.

For tenants, none of it comes cheap.

The San Francisco-based Bungalow, which typically works with owners of small buildings, offers some of the least expensive co-living rooms in New York, based on a comparison of prices online. But the furnishings are fairly basic and the housekeeping monthly rather than weekly.

Generally, the all-inclusive rent for a co-living room starts at around $1,300 and can run well over $2,000 for a room with an en suite bath — not unreasonable, perhaps, considering all that’s covered in the monthly fee, but not exactly low budget.

Still, for those moving to New York for the first time, or for a finite period, the arrangement can be a boon.

It certainly has been for Andrew Athanasiadis, a Chicago native. He had two weeks to find a place to live here after landing a job at Cushman & Wakefield, but he didn’t know New York well and was loath to get locked into a long-term lease for fear he’d end up in a neighborhood he didn’t like.

A Chicago friend had mentioned the co-living company Quarters, which was founded in Berlin and had opened a project in Mr. Athanasiadis’s hometown. Quarters, he learned, also operates two locations in Manhattan (and has three more in the works, in Brooklyn).

A bedroom was available in a three-bedroom, one-bath apartment in the company’s building in the East Village and he signed a six-month lease at a rate of $1,700. He was grateful not to have to “buy all new everything” and figured he could move once he got his bearings.

But he found he liked the social activities in the building, which include weekly happy hours, as well as outings that he and other residents planned on their own, such as a trip to the Hamptons over the summer. The building provided an instant social network. And its location meant an easy commute to work.

Recently he renewed his lease, locking in a discounted rate of $1,600 because he signed for another six months. Mr. Athanasiadis, who is 30, said that eventually he will want his own place. For now, he added, “as long as the price is right I see no reason to move.”

Although Mr. Athanasiadis’s building is a six-story brick apartment house from the 1920s that was retrofitted for co-living, Simon Baron Development’s Alta+ rental tower, which opened in 2018 in Long Island City, devoted the second through the 16th of its 43 floors to co-living from the start. The co-living operator Ollie advised on the layouts of the 169 shared suites on those floors and now manages them.

The model co-living apartment is 918 square feet — the size of a one-bedroom one-bath apartment on the regular upper floors of the building. By eliminating the living room, Ollie managed to fit in three modestly sized bedrooms, two baths and a kitchen. And perhaps borrowing a page from the micro-unit trend, the company outfitted the bedrooms with Murphy beds and multifunctional furniture so they could each feel like a living room during the day.

While Alta+ combines co-living and conventional apartments in a single building, the Collective, a London-based company, is experimenting with co-living/hotel hybrids.

The company recently acquired a century-old industrial plant in Long Island City that had been converted to a 125-room hotel called the Paper Factory (the building once produced newsprint). After a few tweaks and a rebranding, the property was relaunched late last year as the Collective Paper Factory, offering rooms available for a single night or up to 29 (the maximum stay starts at $2,300).

And the Collective has three ground-up projects in progress. Working with Tower Holdings Group, a local developer, the company will soon begin constructing a 439-unit project in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn; it will offer a combination of short- and long-stay rooms across three buildings. In southeast Williamsburg, it will build a 26-story tower with 246 co-living units and 306 hotel rooms. And a central Williamsburg project will combine 97 rooms of student housing with 127 studios for nightly and monthly stays. All rooms will have private baths.

The projects, which are expected to be completed in 2022, will also offer amenities associated with luxury housing. The southeast Williamsburg building, for instance, will have multiple lounges along with a hammam/spa and a music practice room.

While such projects may point in a plush direction for co-living, there are also plans for projects dedicated to those of more modest means — the 21st-century equivalent, perhaps, of 19th-century boardinghouses and 20th-century single room occupancy hotels.

The city’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development recently held a competition eliciting proposals for co-living projects that would become part of the city’s affordable housing efforts. In October the agency announced that it had chosen three “shared housing” projects to be constructed over the next few years.

The largest of these, in East Harlem, will be developed by Common working with L+M Development Partners and LIHC Investment Group, an affordable housing owner. Two-thirds of the units in the project will go to tenants earning 50, 80 and 120 percent of city’s area median income. The lowest rent: around $800.

The most common and cost-effective technique involves injecting the liquid with carbon dioxide (many less-expensive wines are carbonated this way).

The third option is identical to the traditional method of making Champagne (méthode champenoise), involving adding a small amount of lees (yeast cells) to the sake before bottling to induce a second fermentation. This approach is driving quality sparkling sake forward.

Timothy Sullivan, a “Sake Samurai” and the founder of online resource UrbanSake, says these premium sakes are typically made in a brut style with “no sugar added, very low acidity, and, in general, have a higher amino acid, or umami profile than you would get in a sparkling wine.” This technique delivers super-fine bubbles and a more complex product overall. “That opens [sparkling sake] up to pairing with anything on the raw bar, crab legs, or oyster on the half shell,” Sullivan, who also represents Hakkaisan Brewery of Japan’s Niigata prefecture, says.

Hakkaisan is a founding member of the Japan Awasake Association. “I think the ‘Awa’ Association is necessary to alert customers that this is something different. This is a new approach, a new production method, and something that is on a whole different level as far as quality is concerned,” Sullivan says.
