Cleaning out things I’d had from my cake decorating days and did I get the shock of my life when I read the ingredients on these sugar pearls that are used on both cakes, cupcakes and iced cookies. Shellac is a resin secreted by a female lac bug and is used in food glazes as well as nails, and used as a wood finish- seriously would you want to eat this or better still do you want your children eating it? Then it contains carnauba wax which is used in car waxes and furniture polishes. Not to mention some of those other ingredients. Is it any wonder that people, both young and old are getting more allergic to foods? How can people make such garbage?
