a Public Service Announcement from your friendly neighbourhood librarian
It is half-term, and Halloween is approaching. A film of the musical Wicked is also coming out. You are taking your musical-obsessed 9-year-old child to the library. I know you want to encourage your child to read over half-term. I also want to encourage your child to read over half-term.
I must reiterate, however, that Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire is Very Much Not A Children's Book.
Now, I am by no means a "no child is allowed to read adult's books!" purist - I just think this one is one worth reading before you encourage your child to read it, given that Maguire deals with themes such as [SPOILERS / CN for a shit ton of topics I guess]
The nature of evil
Fascism
Propaganda and Terrorism
The psychology of radicalisation
Rape
I am not saying that children shouldn't learn about these topics through books, but please bear in mind that Wicked explores these themes for an audience of presumed adults. If your child desperately wants to read Wicked, please read the book first so that you can make an informed plan for exploring these topics with your children and be prepared to answer any questions they have.
Being a child and learning about these things for the first time is extremely scary. It's why we have children's books that explore scary things and worrying issues in a way that is structured and designed to help the child feel safe.
As your child's librarian, I don't want your child to be excited to read the original novel of their favourite musical—a thing that makes them feel magical and safe—and then find themselves plummeted into a space that feels extremely frightening and unnerving. They need to be prepared for this.
If nothing I've said has convinced you so far, please bear in mind that Maguire was inspired to explore the nature of evil by the 1993 murder of James Bulger. This novel is dark, and you will need to be able to have some conversations with your children on dark subjects. On the plus side - I have a LOT of other excellent Halloween and witchy-themed books in the library for your children to explore. I'm having a lot of fun putting together our Spooky Books display (SBOOOOKS!) and I can't wait to do a load of fun Creepy Crafts on the 31st.
Anyway, TL:DR, always chat with your librarian about an adult book's content before you give it to your children, EVEN IF it has cool and exciting cover art based on that film that's being relentlessly marketed to them

A/N: Here to contribute to (what I could already assume is) the massive amount of Eddie Gluskin content in this fanbase. These are mostly just for fun and to flesh out how I would like to portray our lovely Groom! I hope you all enjoy!
C/W: While I don't go into graphic detail, there are brief mentions of Childhood Abuse/CSA. Please proceed with caution!
General Eddie Gluskin Hcs:
╔═══━━━─── • ───━━━═══╗
Touch is a delicate matter with Eddie. If he’s the one initiating he’s absolutely fine; he has no qualms against hurting others, after all. However, he absolutely abhors being on the receiving end of it. Though it’s been long since his father and uncle were incarcerated, their abuse left Eddie adverse to even casual touch. He can still feel the ghosts of their half-assed attempts at “comfort” after they were done with him. No amount of bathing or scrubbing can wash away the damage.
It’s better to give the man his space.
If he wasn’t in the vocational block toiling away at the sewing machines, Eddie could be found within the recreation area. He can’t go often thanks to the fact that the security guards have to watch him like a hawk, but he enjoys the fresh air. It also helps that the grounds come with weight-lifting equipment. A man must maintain a peak physical form. And Eddie is a vain main.
Granted, Eddie dislikes going into the courtyard for the same reasons. He’s solitary by nature, and a lot of the patients flock to the place; desperate to have some form of distraction. It’s difficult to maintain his friendly demeanor around so many people for so long.
However, he does cross paths with Frank Manera from time to time in the recreation block. The scragglier man offered to spot him one day while Eddie was weight-training, and the two of them had gotten along ever since.
Frank, naturally calm and lethargic in his movements, never set him off. Even if the cannibal’s hygiene habits leave much to be desired. However, Eddie is willing to overlook it. Besides, the man is surprisingly opinionated when it comes to stageplay costume design, and it was nice that Eddie can finally share an interest with someone else.
In addition to sewing and tailoring, Eddie naturally has a knack for drawing and pastels. He’d like to have a try at painting one day, but Murkoff is a bit stingy when it comes to art supplies.
Though, on the other side of the spectrum, the man is hopeless when it comes to digital media. Sure, he could learn if he truly wanted to, but… He truly doesn’t have the patience for it. Yes, sewing isn’t exactly the fastest, either, but it felt way better than just sitting in front of a computer screen trying to figure out how to make a website. He’ll get stir-crazy if he can’t occupy his hands.
Usually will keep his needles and pins tucked within his teeth while he’s working. Whether or not he’s accidentally swallowed one, Eddie will never share.
He absolutely has. His poor mother was in hysterics the first time it happened.
While he dreams of a white-picket fence with a wife and kids and a dog— he’s terribly allergic to dogs and cats. A fact he discovered the hard way with a neighbor’s schnauzer. Seven year old Eddie was crushed that day.
Used to have longer hair when he was a child, but kept it cropped short thanks to his Father not wanting, in his words, “a queer for a son”
Stuck within the limbo of hating his mother and revering her. Mrs. Gluskin was a victim as well, and she did her best to provide her son with comfort; and if she invited him to tag along with her for errands, it meant he was safe for the day.
Yet all Eddie could focus on was how she cowered away and avoid looking into his eyes after his abusers were done with him; how she would turn up the TV when Eddie’s crying and shouts could be heard from the basement; how she refused to talk about what happened after his father and uncle were arrested. The years of resentment only grew worse thanks to Mr. Gluskin passing his misogyny onto Eddie.
He may go on about how he wants to have a family, but Eddie is a little awkward around kids. He more so tends to treat them like little adults as opposed to children. It didn’t help that he never had many friends during childhood, so he has a tendency to stand there, frozen in place, while he watches a bunch of children run around.
Doesn’t like having his picture taken. He hates having to force a smile for the camera, only to be met with how empty his eyes look in the end product.
Do not ever take him clothes shopping unless you want to spend an entire day bickering with him. He’s quite critical over fabric quality and finding the “right” set of clothes that’ll flatter him. He’ll walk into the dressing rooms with a mountain of shirts and pants in one hand and end up leaving with only a single set of pants and a button up shirt. At least he neatly folds everything before placing it back on the return rack..

I don't know if this will get posted because it's long and a bit ranty, but I want to get it off my chest and I think a LOT of people need to hear it. I won't reference any specific issue but there have been many like this, so it's still applicable.
I've been doing my best to stay positive about the fandom but my god, the surveillance of the internet and the "child friendly" insistence is getting ridiculous. No I don't want to chase children off the internet, they can have their space, but they also must understand the internet is mainly used by adults and therefore there will be adult content here. The fandom is not a mess because there are people making erotic writing/art, it's a mess because no one is allowing anyone to have their own space. Between pre-downpour puritans and minors just looking to get adults in trouble for BEING ADULTS, THAT is the problem we have here.
Yes, censoring adult content is important. Having NSFW alts is even better.
The problem?
Nosey people (often minors) who think everyone's business is theirs to meddle in. If someone has "bad" kinks, and makes content about it— going to blow some minds here —they aren't actually a bad person. I had to learn this myself, as I used to be the kind to judge people for it. But they are not reflections of someone's morality. Often times it's a result of trauma, a way to cope with or process something (and in saying that, no, you cannot ask someone what their trauma is to "justify" their kinks. let people have some semblance of privacy)
Something someone enjoys in fiction is not something they are guaranteed to enjoy in real life: take for example horror movies. Your favourite horror movie is Saw? Okay, so that means you're a psychopath who wants to torture people in bizarre ways.
Sounds stupid, doesn't it? Because it is.
We need to let people have their own personal lives again. Not everything needs to be laid out on the table to prove someone is a good person.
You are allowed to not like something, in fiction or in real life. You're allowed to not like NSFW content period. I am in no way saying everyone needs to be tolerant of everything and can't dislike anything, but you are not allowed to stop others from enjoying things that are (despite how much antis don't want to admit it) harmless.
People (especially minors) need to stop hunting for dirt when someone slightly upsets them (usually adults). We are human. We make mistakes. If someone upsets you, communicate it with them, or block them. We don't need to be ruining people's lives with the guise of "spreading awareness" about them.
No, you are not spreading awareness, because I am CERTAIN most people are not reading your lengthy post. They see the big scary words you've labelled this person with (often words that are highly exaggerated or, again, are people misinterpreting a fictional desire, like kinks, as real-life reflections of that person) and witchhunt.
That is no insult to anyone, it's a fact of the internet; Tumblr is another site designed to give short-form content, so big long posts we rarely actually read, we SKIM. Skimming usually means we see the big bad words, scroll past a few screenshots, and go "yep, seems legit", and reblog. We come onto this app for fast, easy dopamine. And drama? We eat that up. But this isn't just silly drama. This is ruining people's lives.
Rarely will people go deeper to look into the other person's perspective, or think about the motives of the person making the post, e.g. how did they get this info? why were they looking for it? and by extension, was this necessary to post and "warn" people about? Or, maybe, just maybe, can we let people do things that aren't hurting anyone (because it is FICTIONAL), and stay in our lanes so we don't have to see what we don't want to see.
Anyways, TLDR: People in the RW fandom, please be careful with who you listen to. If you want to get involved, then do it properly; look into the situation, properly evaluate it, come to a conclusion on your own instead of immediately agreeing with whoever started it. And if you can't be bothered? Then simply don't interact with it, because you are making uneducated decisions that could lead to lives lost.
Thank you to anyone who read this all the way through (if it got posted lol it may be way too long)
.

Part 1: Real Story, Real Healing – Arjun’s Journey
Meet Arjun, a 17-year-old from Gurgaon. Once an energetic teen who loved sports, his world turned upside down after his parents' painful breakup. He became withdrawn, anxious, and lost interest in everything he once enjoyed.
His mother, Priya, noticed the change but couldn’t reach him emotionally. Grades slipped, confidence plummeted, and fear overtook him.
That’s when Priya turned to Lyfsmile.
Through therapy sessions that included talk therapy, art, and play techniques, Arjun slowly opened up. He learned to process his feelings and rebuild his confidence.

Choose a Daycare Child Academy for Your Child’s Growth
When parents search for daycare services, they want more than just a safe place for their child to spend the day. They want an environment where their child can thrive, learn, and grow. A Daycare Child Academy provides exactly that—an enriched, educational setting that nurtures your child’s development at every stage. This blog will explain why a Daycare Child Academy is the perfect choice for your child’s early years and how it can help set them up for success in school and beyond.
What is a Daycare Child Academy?
A Daycare Child Academy goes beyond the traditional daycare setting by offering a structured, educational environment that promotes learning alongside care. These academies provide age-appropriate educational programs, designed to foster the development of cognitive, emotional, and social skills. In a Daycare Child Academy, children experience a balance of guided learning, creative play, and socialization, all within a safe, nurturing environment.
From infants to preschoolers, a Daycare Child Academy tailors its programs to meet the developmental needs of each age group. While it’s important for children to be cared for, it’s equally important for them to engage in activities that stimulate their curiosity and lay the groundwork for future learning.
Why Choose a Daycare Child Academy?
Selecting the right daycare for your child is a significant decision. A Daycare Childcare Academy offers a variety of benefits that set it apart from traditional daycare centers. Here’s why a Daycare Childcare Academy could be the best choice for your child’s early development.
1. Early Education Focus
Daycare Child Academies prioritize education from the start. These academies use structured curriculums that are tailored to your child’s developmental stage. Children engage in a variety of educational activities, from simple lessons on shapes, colors, and letters for toddlers to more advanced skills like basic math and literacy for preschoolers.
This early exposure to learning sets a strong foundation for when your child eventually enters kindergarten and helps them develop a love for learning that will last throughout their academic journey.
2. Socialization and Emotional Development
A major benefit of a Daycare Child Academy is the opportunity for children to socialize with peers. This interaction is crucial for developing important social skills such as sharing, taking turns, and communicating effectively. The structured environment helps children navigate social situations with confidence, building their ability to manage emotions and resolve conflicts.
Children are also taught empathy and how to understand and express their feelings in healthy ways. These early social skills are important for future success, not just academically but also in personal and professional relationships as they grow older.
3. Safe and Nurturing Environment
Safety is a top priority at a Daycare Child Academy. These academies are designed with child-friendly spaces, secure entrances, and practices that ensure a child’s well-being throughout the day. In addition to physical safety, emotional safety is equally emphasized. Teachers and caregivers are trained to provide a nurturing environment where children feel loved and cared for.
The structured routines and caring atmosphere help children feel secure, reducing anxiety and giving them the confidence to explore their surroundings and try new things.
4. Experienced and Qualified Staff
Daycare Child Academies typically employ staff who are trained and certified in early childhood education. This means that the teachers and caregivers are not just babysitting—they are actively guiding children’s development. They understand the importance of fostering a child’s cognitive, emotional, and physical growth, and they have the expertise to create an engaging and educational experience.
With a high level of training, staff members are able to identify each child’s individual needs and strengths, offering personalized care and support.
5. Preparing for School Readiness
One of the main goals of a Daycare Child Academy is to prepare children for the transition to kindergarten. Academies provide structured learning experiences that help children master basic academic concepts such as the alphabet, numbers, colors, and shapes. They also teach essential school skills, like following instructions, listening, and completing tasks independently.
By the time your child enters kindergarten, they will have the skills and confidence they need to succeed. The preparation they receive in a Daycare Child Academy can make the transition to formal school much easier.
What to Look for in a Daycare Child Academy
Choosing the right Daycare Child Academy involves considering several factors. Here are some important aspects to keep in mind:
1. Curriculum and Learning Approach
Ensure that the Daycare Child Academy has a well-structured, age-appropriate curriculum. Ask about their teaching philosophy and how they incorporate learning into daily activities. A good academy should provide a balance of educational content, creative play, and physical activities, tailored to your child’s developmental stage.
2. Qualified and Caring Staff
Look for an academy with experienced, qualified staff who are passionate about early childhood education. Ask about the staff’s qualifications, certifications, and experience. Staff members should be warm, approachable, and dedicated to providing your child with the best care and education.
3. Safety Standards
Safety should always come first. Make sure the academy has secure facilities, clear emergency procedures, and a safe environment. Ask about the teacher-to-child ratio, as smaller ratios often mean more individual attention for your child. Also, inquire about the academy’s policies for health, hygiene, and safety.
4. Parent Communication
A great Daycare Child Academy should offer open lines of communication with parents. Ask how the academy keeps parents informed about their child’s progress, behavior, and daily activities. Some academies offer daily or weekly reports, while others may use online portals or hold parent-teacher conferences.
5. Play and Exploration Opportunities
In addition to structured learning, your child should have plenty of opportunities for play, exploration, and creativity. A good academy will provide activities that engage the imagination and encourage curiosity. Whether it’s outdoor play, arts and crafts, or free playtime, these activities are essential for your child’s overall development.
Conclusion
A Daycare Child Academy offers an enriching environment that provides more than just care for your child. It’s a place where children can learn, grow, and develop the skills they need for school and life. With a focus on early education, emotional development, social skills, and safety, a Daycare Childcare Academy is an ideal choice for parents who want the best for their child’s early years.
When choosing a Daycare Child Academy, ensure that the facility offers a well-rounded curriculum, a safe and nurturing environment, and experienced staff who are dedicated to fostering your child’s growth. By selecting a daycare that focuses on early childhood. education, you are giving your child a strong foundation for a lifetime of learning and success.

hi, everyone! this is autumn (she/they, 21+) and you might also find me at @svnlght ! ♡ and i bring you yet another of my babies: moon taeho, a part time server + university student (major in architecture) that is just trying to make it through (and either be finally loved by his parents or finally let go of his desire for their validation); overall, he's a sweet person with a touch of grumpy and forever dark circles under his eyes. here is profile and here is his pinterest! as always, under the cut there's more details of his bio + plot ideas!
his family is pretty ordinary despite them being sort of rich considering his dad is the ceo of an architecture company and his mom a famous graphic designer, but just weren't much of the parental type.
so when taeho is born out of an accident, they don't know what to do with him but they at least try (not very successfully) until they get tired of that too and taeho is mostly left to his own devices since a little too young.
things don't get better when his younger brother is born as the apple of his parents' eyes, a child that came when they actually wanted one and used the excuse that he was born with a sick body to give him more attention than to taeho (but then things didn't change when his little brother got healthy later on).
so he learned how to be an adult a little too soon and how to look after himself; surprisingly he doesn't really resent neither his parents nor his brother for it and he does love them dearly, would die and kill for them, even if the relationship with his parents is still awkward at best.
was (and still is) a good student with good grades and as much as he just wanted to chill throughout his school years, he still ended up class president more than once and almost if not all of his group assignments he ended up as the group's leader because at the end of the day he's very critical and methodical about things, esp academic work, so he ends up taking charge just so things will be up to his standards. he also has very dependable vibes so people end up relying on him a lot too so in the end he does end up in positions of leadership even if the i in his mbti wants otherwise.
characteristics that he carries with himself to this day. hence why new semester is yet another broken promise that he'll just chill in group tasks and agree with everything.
moves to seoul for university in a way to try to escape the awkward environment that seems to linger whenever he's in the same space as his parents; besides daegu isn't a city that he necessarily sees his life being at so expanding his horizons to seoul seemed like a good idea.
receives an allowance from his parents but still works part time at a cafe to earn money and use as little (if at all) the money that he gets from his parents, deciding to use it only for extreme emergencies.
wanted connections !
classmates ! someone who loves doing projects with him because taeho does most of hard work anyway or maybe someone who doesn't like doing projects with him because you two end up always bumping heads due to difference of opinions and no one is too willing to give in.
rent-a-boyfriend ! someone who is in need of a fake boyfriend for whatever reason (introduce him to their family so they'll be kicked out left alone / impress their in a relationship!friends / they joked about having a bf and missed the timing to say it was a joke so now they have to keep the lie up, etc etc) and for some reason taeho ends up being your guy.
coworkers at cheongsudang cafe ! someone who tease hims for the way he doesn't have exactly the most friendly of the faces even when he's serving costumers (but he's still known as one of the cute servers); someone who sees him off work and is completely off guard when discovering that he has a full sleeve of tattoos since he usually has them covered for work, is also very surprised by the piercings too since they assumed he just didn't seem like the type.
regulars / costumers at cheongsudang cafe ! maybe someone that he sees almost everyday and they always order the same thing so ofc that he's going to memorize their order; someone he realizes might not be having the best day and he's feeling particularly generous so he decides to get them a little baking good on (his tab) the house along with their coffee; someone who sees that he's having a bad day and tries to buy him coffee or whatever instead and as much as taeho appreciates it, he can't really have anything on the clock (but with some insisting, he'll def keep it for his break).
ex(es) / crushes / weird flirtationship that looks more like bickeringship / blind date(s) or not so much blind date(s) / smoking one of us always has the lighter when the other doesn't buddies / anime/manga/manhwa buddies / gym you're the only reason i didn't break my strike yet buddies or even gym rivals to gym buddies / tba if i manage to come up with more of them !
#jongno:hello#ooc.#the way i fell asleep three times writing this#so i'll just leave this here and deal with the rest tomorrow#is it too obv all my brain power went to kiha's intro??#might add more plot ideas later when i'm not half dead

This sequence of events displays one of my key dislikes of The Last Faith, it's inconsistent enemy introductions.
Unfortunately, because the game has no in game bestiary, I do not know the official name of the enemies despite them introducing them with a name whenever you defeat one for the past time. It's not their name that's a problem, but what they do and how they are introduced.
First, I will call the enemy in the first picture the 'Flame Whipper'. He is an enemy that will throw a chain weapon at you in front of you before leaping back. The area between the chain and his new position now becomes engulfed in a fiery floor of flames. This enemy is annoying to deal with but it at least introduces it to you in an are where you have space to see what he does and learn his pattern.
In a later room, you can se one of these enemies below (picture 2) and I decided that I would merely jump over the platforms to avoid a confrontation. I would have to be fast though, as the platforms were crumble platforms. It wasn't until I was making my last jump that I realised that...no I had fucked up, the game designers have deliberately and callously fucked me over.
This was my first ever introduction to the canon enemy, and he is set up in such a way that if you jump across the platforms normally, his canon shot will send you spiralling into the depths to face friendly Mr Flame Whipper.
By doing this, the game breaks a fundamental rule of game design: introduce enemies in an environment where you can see what they can do and how they effect you, the player, and the world around you in no so much as a safe environment, but separate from other challenges.
Let's take Super Mario Bros world 1-1 as a key example; the first enemy you encounter is the iconic Goomba. You encounter one as you are passing under the starting blocks for the level. This forces you so that if you jump you likely hit the blocks and rebound onto the Goomba showing that you can defeat a Goomba by stomping on it, if the jump is mistimed, then you learn to not let the Goomba touch you or you die.
A few pipes over you encounter a Goomba between pipes, showing you that they move until hitting an obstacle and reversing direction. You also have the high ground on the Goomba making it easy prey for you, Obi-Wan would be proud.
Next you encounter not one but two Goomba's, this is the game escalating things because you now know everything you need to know about the Goomba as an enemy. To the point that you next encounter them on floating platforms, and then they are used to introduce the next enemy, the Koopa by showing the the Koopa's shell can be used to defeat the Goombas.
The Last Faith does not introduce some of its more frustrating enemies in a fair way that allows players to get to grips with that enemies mechanics before dropping them into complex situations. If the Last Faith were a racing game it would be telling you "Why are we bothering with speeds 1 to 6 when we can just shove you immediately up to speed 7 from the get go." Or if it was a particularly pushy parent it would be like teaching a child to ride a bike, by bringing them to the BMX championships, you don't need training wheels, you don't even need lessons, you're going to suffer failure, humiliation and suffering and if you've not learned to ride a bike by the end of it, then it's your fault, the fact I am a shitty parent has nothing to do with it.

Hihi! Oc post here about Kere and Oveah because I've been meaning to post about them anyways, and @dyson-the-vacuum asked me about them so of COURSE I'm going to oblige ♡
(More Below Cut)
So, Kere and Oveah are two young adults (no one kept track of their ages, but like, 19/20) who were raised in Space in a place that humans usually aren't found.
To cut the story very to-the-point, Kere and the aliens who raised him land on the planet where Oveah has lived all his life. Oveah acts as ambassador for the new aliens since he's the only sentient thing there, and after some shenanigans Kere and Oveah end up in love.
To go more in-depth:
Kere Kcora, Age 20(ish), 6'1", He/They
Kere was a young child when the space-exploration crew he was with was captured by hostile forces. The crew was killed or sold off into lavor/expetimentation/etc for species who weren't friendly with Earth. Kere, as a baby, ended up with the Kcora. (A race that has a tech-based hivemind that absorbs other species into itself to learn.)
The Kcora decided that he was too young to fully absorb into the hivemind, so instead they partially connected him and left him be somewhat independent. It was originally a study that wasn't meant to last, but somehow the hive as a whole decided that leaving Kere as a half-hive would suffice.
As he grew older, Kere started acting as a mediator between species on planets and his own people, since he had free will at all times it made things easier. Kere rarely connects to the hivemind unless he's in distress, and he's very brash and unapologetic. He has his entire hive behind him, so what's to fear?
Kere's design is actually lacking tech in comparison to the rest of the Kcora. His right arm was only replaced after he asked for it to be (He didn't look enough like his family.) and his chest has that glowing target shape which monitors his emotions and physical wellbeing (the center ring pulses with his heartbeat, the outer ring glows brighter/dimmer based on his mental state) and was placed on him when he was young. He'd never let these devices be taken from him willingly.
Oveah Eden, Age 19(ish), 5'9", (He/It/They)
He also has a lot of wires and glowing implants just beneath his skin that mimic an android body without having to actually replace parts, hense the lines along his legs and the slight glow/color given off by his hair. They don't harm him at all, just look a bit more pleasing and make him blend into tye vibes better.
Oveah was born on Earth, but as an infant his family was chosen to move to a new colony. On the way there, the ship crashed into a planet known as Eden. There were very few survivors, but Oveah's parents and himself were among them. His parents cared for Oveah the best they could, they outlasted the other settlers at least, but they too died due to the hostile environment and wilds on Eden.
Having said that, the planet had sentience. Just enough to decide to keep Oveah alive. Incubate him in a plant pod until he was old enough to comprehend language and do basic survival tasks. He was about 11 perhaps when Eden woke him from the incubation, and he already had the understanding and teachings beyond an average 11 y/o might (same way the Planet understood what the settlers were saying/doing despite not ever having seen humans before. Understanding chemical energies and subtle things that happen subconsciously to convert it into sonething recognizable w/o any thought).
Oveah was given a rock (which can be seen in his headband) that Eden uses to communicate directly with Oveah through. Hid whole life he was very self-sufficient with executing tasks, but without the advising of Eden in his ear, he had no curiosity or personal drive to accomplish things. Often if Eden ignored him for a day, it would find him slumped in its sleeping nest where it was that morning. Very rarely does Oveah find sonething that interests them outside of Eden's guided suggestions. The planet trues to socialize him, but with no other living sentience to communicate with, there was nothing to be done.
Oveah's design is very lightly colored. His jacket is made of left-over material from a space-suit he found tucked in a stump once, and the rest of it he weaved/sewed himself. His hair is tinted pink thanks to the incubation period slightly altering his DNA.
The Kcora are a traveling species that will mine for ores from older planets, though they've learned to only take from one section at a time as to not deplete resources. They've been to Eden before, Millenia before the boys were born, buy they return to the planet with the hopes of once again mining that protected section of the planet.
Kere is sent with a small group to meet Eden's representative (in all the recent centuries Eden has been abandoned in the record books) and that's how they meet.
Kere is the first thing in a long time that genuinely interests Oveah, meanwhile Oveah is adorable in Kere's eyes while also being extremely unsocialized which bothers him. From their first few meetings onwards, Kere is insistent on Oveah trying out new experiences, while Oveah is working through his interest in Kere.
The first time Kere sleeps on Eden he unintentionally plops sideways onto Oveah and the poor planet-boy is never away from Kere's side ever again. Touch (whether that be soft like swiping hair away or sitting beside eachother, or it's rough-housing and tumbling around in the mud) is what ultimately brings them together.
The Kcora are notorious for their closeness, but only mentally. Because their minds are linked, their bodies rarely have time for affections like humans. Only because they realized Kere would thrive in a more touch-based environment did they start hugging him or giving him head pats or sparring. He never went a day w/o friendly touch. Meanwhile Eden was full of dangerous and untamed creatures that Oveah could never tame, so he was utterly alone all his life. The first time Oveah asked to rest in the same space, Kere was happy to smother him in cuddles (platonic, at the time) simply because he rarely got the opportunity with the Kcora. It wasn't the same.
And eventually, when Pveah had to move off-planet for a while to let the surface shift and do things that definitely would've killed him, he rarely left Kere's side. They were practically the same entity for the week or so that they had.
#light's spot#my art#oc#sketch#wip#Kere#Kere Kcora#Oveah#Oveah Eden#the Kcora are basically the Borg from startrek but a lil more curious and a lot less destructive#and Eden is a sentient planet that speaks to specifically one (1) kid who is also its son#Kere is basically the extrovert and Oveah is the introvert#best-socialized human in the universe vs. worst socialzed human in the universe#(spoilers they kiss)#these guys were actually versions of Dream + Killer (as in snas aus) back in the day meant for personal fics#but I ended up liking them too much and made them humans recently :)#it always comes back to that goofy game lmao
