puppy fever, might be terminal
#trojs 5 which means we're 1 yr out from my apparent cycle of a dog every 6 years#its not that i dont have enough on my hands and not like i do so much with them i need another one but i#find myself borrowing a spitz to hike with to get the feeling of 3 and with how#troj has turned out it would be... very viable#on one hand she's stupidly well behaved and no effort at all to keep#but also on the other hand shes... stupidly well behaved and not the firecracker i was counting on#(my bad for expecting every sheltie to be a Sparty)#i think she'd actually benefit from having a younger dog around as well#Sparty is doing great but has a very different approach to life and energy conservation now than she did 3-4 years ago#flat out sprints to bite the trojbutt isn't top of her mind 24/7 anymore which is a little sad for troj#troj and melis jive well in that regard but theyre on slightly different planets and while troj has 0 real herding drive she is#VERY sheepdog in her play and social behaviour#ofc the question always becomes 'why do you think you NEED another dog' and i dont. and its not for troj no#but i want one. and i can handle one. and i think another sheltie would be a benefit to our household#ofc: i had planned to have a trojling by now. and if i intend to keep showing it would make sense to get one soonish#that could enter open class just as troj goes to veteran#and ive still sunk enough time (almost 17 years now) into this breed to want to take more involved steps. i still want to breed and show em#eventually#but living situation still needs to change and im honestly. still so disappointed at trojlings falling through im not entirely sure#what the next step should be#a blue or maybe pref tric little bitch from allrounder lines probably. somehow.

being adhd is crazy ill spend all day worrying that i’ve forgotten something, triple checking my calendar and my messages to make sure i haven’t missed an appointment or left someone hanging, and it still happens anyway. incredible

I sunk 24 hours of rendering into this piece so MAY AS WELL POST IT
I had to design and illustrate an underground city for my concept art class, and decided to go with subterranean aliens building a vertical metropolis! I’m very inexperienced and no real good with xenobiology, so they ended up like walmart brand bug ferrets….. but I’m definitely happy with the style of architecture!!
#my art#alien#alien city#xenobiology#kinda slightly maybe#they’re called the tunaaw and they live on a tidally locked planet#they have Big Ol Anteater Claws to dig for yummy treats#the little human is from a crashed human expedition: they were an infant and the only survivor#their name is Nayuk and their adoptive parent (the tunaaw holding their hand) is named Lahit and I love them both dearly#I also had to design a numerical system for a different class and decided to incorporate it for the tunaaw!!#it’s base 12 bc they have 6 digits#you can see some of the symbols as the bright turquoise markings above each gateway#(though they don’t actually have meaning here I just chose the symbols that looked best)#I wanna do more w this setting eventually bc it’s super fun doing non-fantasy worldbuilding!!

cannot believe it's only wednesday. feels like cruel and unusual punishment, it should be at least thursday.
#almost left work at 6 am because the idea of seeing the 23 year old was so horrible. but i did not! i stayed. and i ran into him everywhere.#and it was horrible and frankly i should've just left early.#and then i went to the bookstore after work and saw a copy of the exact hard to find book i was going to give him#after he finished his first [] class. which he did yesterday.#also forgot that the construction going on immediately next to my office means the soundproofing is nonexistent right now#and all of the other people in the offices on either side of mine heard me crying for...a while this morning#in like 6 months max i'll live somewhere new and work somewhere new and this will all feel at least marginally less bad but it's so bad rn.

I was pretty satisfied abt the paper I wrote for my one class but my profs keep putting this emphasis on opening revisions after the grades are out, so I'm now so terrified to check my grade once I wake up, I don't wanna know now 😭😭😭😭

If I start speaking French more often here I fear it is the remarkably quick effect of living with 1 francophone. Rn irl it's about a 1:10 ratio of French to English mais deux de ses amis vont être ici pour une semaine et ils ne parlent pas beaucoup d'anglais alors on va voir lmao
#look anika's talking!#and the other person who lives here speaks some french as well#its interesting cause like. her vocabulary is better than mine and she's FAR better at understanding it bc ive only had anglophone teachers#but im a lot more natural sounding and i dont have to think as much abt what im gonna say#+ she knows more grammar than me bc she like. actually learned it very by the book.#whereas i was just told in 7th grade that i could only speak french in class so my dialect is just a bunch of 12yos making it up together#+ 6 years experience 💀 so ive got less of an english accent than hed#*her#okay rambling done!
