I am dead fucking serious when I say I wish I saw more fat women in public. I want to see fat models. I want to see fat women in department stores getting absolutely HYPE when they find racks and racks of clothing in their size and sizes up, so they too can get the "oversized, baggy fit" like women who fit into smalls and mediums. I want to see fat women wearing crop tops proudly and rocking mad midriff. I want to see fat women trying on clothing for their friends and family and saying "look! it compliments my body shape! it's like it was made for me!" I want to see fat women with "cankles" wearing pretty jingling anklets skipping and jumping just to show them off. I want to see fat women on TV, in magazines, on billboards, in all manner of ads, and in online shop images because I want to see my fucking self and all the women I know who don't see enough of themselves. I want to see fat women living, loving, and being visibly proud of who they are because they are beautiful, WE are beautiful. I want to see fat women because fat women need to see other fat women.

my theory for calum calling every vaguely tartan skirt a kilt is that’s what his parents told him when he had to wear Mali’s hand me downs being like ‘you’re scottish, be proud’ but really you don’t always have the extra cash to buy shorts for a growing boy when there are perfectly good skirts right there

I found tailors chalk and tiny hooks and eyes (but not the itsy bitsy velcro I wanted) so now. I can make dresses for plush toys out of fat quarters.

I'm still working on the whole concept of saying "I look fine and good" and believing it, but I have always enjoyed fashion and putting together outfits, and I have always had a mindset of "even if I myself don't look good and I'm ugly, at least my clothes aren't."
That said, it is SO ANNOYING to want to do a general web search for neat looks from other countries for women around 30 and all I get. Is "where to shop!" and "here's the current hot trends with teens!" like no, no, I am not looking for teen fashion, I am SO VERY SPECIFICALLY NOT looking for teen fashion, thanks, and I suppose it's nice to know the travel blog recommendations for shopping but I'd also like to HAVE AN IDEA OF WHAT TO LOOK FOR FIRST
"Ohh I'm a tourist going to ____ place what should I wear" don't know don't care I want to know what the locals think is cool, I wanna see what color combinations are used frequently, what's the casual wear like, accessories?? Shoes????
And nothing comes up.

Me, every single time I see my four-month-old nephew: How are you the BIGGEST BABY in the ENTIRE WORLD? Is it possible for a baby to be in the 100th-percentile of height and weight, because I think think you might qualify. You are a bowling ball of a baby. You are going to be seven feet tall but inherit the basketball skills from my side of the family so that high school coaches will weep as you pass and lament that you're in the chess club.

Rereading The Dark Prophecy, and here's my take on Leo fitting in Georgie's overalls despite being 16, while Georgie's 7, as someone who is the exact same body type as Leo (scrawny and not that tall, but also not like super short).
Firstly, there's no way that Leo's 5'6" (also: 66 in, 167.64 cm, 1.67 m) like the wikipaedia states he is. The only mention of his height I remember in the books is that he's taller than Coach Hedge, at 5'0, so where 5'6" comes from, I'm nto entirely sure, but I don't buy it. I'm personally 5'4", and that's what I see Leo as, max.
Now for fitting in Georgie's clothes, Leo and Georgie have the same age gap as my own brother and I (9 years), and my brother is on the taller side for his age like Georgie. When I had just turned 17, and he had just turned 8, I'd forgotten a costume for a Halloween event, and I'd be darned if I didn't dress up. So, I stole my brother's Army Costume he had, but wasn't wearing. So, yes, it is possible Leo could fit in Georgie's outfit, but there's 2 glaring details we need to add:
The sleeves
The pant legs
Now, overalls don't have sleeves, so we can ignore the fact that the long-sleeve jacket of my brother's I wore stopped at my mid-forearm. It didn't look unnatural since I just rolled up the sleeves to just below my elbows, just a bit cropped, but the torso and the t-shirt fit just fine.
The pants legs on the other hand? They appeared like a pair of high waters (which, for those who don't know end above your ankles.) Now, fun fact about me is I wear combat boots nearly everyday, and have since middle school, so with my boots on, the pants looked natural. This, obviously, is because I was taller than my brother, by a good half-a-foot or a bit more, at the age of 17.
So, I can totally see Leo fitting in Georgie's overalls, just them looking like a pair of cropped pants, but not in an unnatural way.

I know a lot of people (sewing youtubers) make clothes out of thrifted bedsheets which in theory is such a great idea because you get so much fabric in nice solids/prints but it really squicks me out to wear something a stranger slept on, sweated on, and maybe even stained with any number of bodily fluids and/or food. We're human. it's fine. But I'm not wearing that no matter how many times it's been washed
