Why Data Warehouse Assessment is Necessary for Successful Cloud Migration Migrating to the cloud often brings challenges, starting with how to begin and what objects to migrate. Many organizations face difficulties when identifying the necessary data objects, especially with large and complex databases. Datameticaâs innovative solution, Eagle, The Planner, addresses these common issues by intelligently scanning logs to establish relationships between database objects, identify access patterns, and build migration plans.
Eagle visualizes the complexity of ETL/ELT processes, pinpointing problem areas and optimizing migration efforts. It also groups objects into manageable migration clusters for iterative migration, reducing time and cost by nearly 50%. This approach enables organizations to plan more effectively and ensures smoother migrations with minimal disruption. Supported technologies include Teradata, Netezza, Oracle, and more, with continuous updates.

Jaret Chiles, Chief Services Officer, DoiT â Interview Series
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/jaret-chiles-chief-services-officer-doit-interview-series/
Jaret Chiles, Chief Services Officer, DoiT â Interview Series
Jaret Chiles is the chief services officer (CSO) of DoiT and is responsible for all aspects of their client services organization. With 25+ years of experience across consulting and managed services, cloud adoption, technical sales, security and compliance, he is instrumental in building out a key value driver for DoiTâs business: services, consulting, and support offerings. Since joining the company, Jaret has led development of a scalable services strategy that enables DoiT to grow rapidly â without compromising its unrivaled expertise.
DoiT combines the power of intelligent software products with access to unrivaled multicloud expertise to solve the most complicated and important cloud problems. DoiTâs product portfolio provides the tools to manage cloud cost and infrastructure without compromising the speed or quality of engineering initiatives.
What initially attracted you to computer science and how did you find yourself involved in cloud computing?
My father was an engineer and exposed me to building and modifying computers as a child in the early 80s. My first computer was a TRS-80 Model 4 on which I learned how to do some basic programming by the time I was in elementary school. Itâs been an interesting journey and I never really considered working in any other field. During high school, I had my first job working evenings and weekends at an internet service provider doing dial-up, broadband, email and website support. While pursuing a computer science degree in college, I helped run the campus data center and networks and led my first team.
I went on to work in many different roles at a managed hosting services provider. When AWS began to disrupt our legacy models, I recognized the undeniable potential and quickly adapted to the cloud computing era as a cloud architect from the very first release of OpenStack to all the major hyperscalers. Ever since Iâve been focused on helping companies large and small understand how to unlock the value that cloud computing creates for their businesses. My passion for computing has never strayed, but now I find it most rewarding as a servant leader supporting the success and growth of others who share my passion.
Can you elaborate on how DoiTâs intelligent software products and multicloud expertise specifically address the most pressing cloud challenges faced by organizations today?
Through our products and services, DoiT International helps cloud-driven companies harness the public cloud to drive business growth. Weâre a full-service provider of intelligent multicloud technology, so we deliver consulting, support and training to solve essential challenges like migration costs and the sheer complexity of cloud usage.
We also provide full-service FinOps technology along with the procurement advantages that organizations need to solve the challenges of navigating and automating public cloud investments. Some of the essential capabilities we provide include multicloud budgeting, reporting, optimization and governance.
DoiTâs global team of cloud experts have decades of experience in the analytics, optimization and governance of cloud architecture, as well as specializations in Kubernetes and artificial intelligence (AI). We also stay on top of emerging technologies, so our clients can take full advantage of them, securely and safely. Our experts have technical leadership backgrounds across verticals. Daily, Iâm completely humbled by the actual level of expertise in our organization, Iâve never seen anything like it elsewhere.
How does DoiT Cloud Solve enhance the cloud experience for users, and could you share some success stories or examples of challenges it has helped resolve?
Doit Cloud Solve is a services offering that allows customers to unlock real value in cloud computing with unlimited access to the top experts in the industry. We work backward from what customers actually need, with less friction than traditional consulting and support contracting models. Using Generative AI as an example, we leverage a three-part approach:
Discovery: We delve into specific business objectives, gathering and refining data to lay the groundwork for innovation;
Innovation: We guide feature selection, model training and validation to meet tailored needs; and
Deployment and optimization: We implement and refine generative AI strategy, ensuring your team executes on a seamless integration and with maximum impact.
The DoiT Cloud Solve team provides multicloud consulting, unlimited consultancy and technical support as well as cloud-native training. Customers are able to create optimized architectures and configurations while enhancing the skills and capabilities across their teams, which leads to more efficient and sustainable cloud growth. From the core of the cloud stack with compute, storage and networking, through the full cloud-native product portfolio, to the most advanced and disruptive cloud solutions.
In terms of cloud cost optimization, what strategies or technologies does DoiT employ to help clients maximize their cloud investments while maintaining or enhancing service quality?
Cost optimization starts with a well-designed architecture. DoiT consultants and engineers help customers ensure their cloud architectures are future-ready and assist in creating migration strategies.
Additionally, every IT organization wants to get their desired benefits with the lowest possible spend, and to do this, IT needs timely information and tools that make it simple to manage cloud services. DoiTâs intelligent technology does exactly this, helping engineering and FinOps leaders monitor, manage and optimize their cloud usage and spend.
We help IT utilize advanced technologies like GenAI for both internal and customer-facing workflows, without running into unforeseen massive compute and cost overruns.
DoiT offers a suite of proprietary products like Flexsave and Cloud Navigator. How do these products differentiate from other tools available in the market, and what unique advantages do they offer to your clients?
What sets DoiT apart is its unrivaled expertise, full-service FinOps technology and the procurement advantage that we provide to solve the challenges of navigating and automating public cloud investments. These three pillars operating in harmony is a game changer for customers.
DoiT Flexsave uniquely removes the risk, forecasting and tedious work required for managing a complex portfolio of compute commitments and reservations. Compute costs can often represent more than half of an organizationâs cloud spend, so accessing optimized pricing on those workloads is an easy way to lower monthly bills. Flexsave automates commitments, providing cost savings without the need to monitor usage, track expiration and renewal dates, while modifying instances to fit an organizationâs reservations.
Security is a major concern in cloud computing. Can you discuss DoiTâs approach to cloud security and how it helps organizations strengthen their security posture?
Security must be part of every step in a customerâs cloud journey. Itâs not one-and-done up front, and you donât bolt it on at the end either. Security is a consideration baked into everything we do from products to services.
As part of architecture reviews, or as a focused session, DoiT Cloud Solve experts will advise on security strategies as well as perform benchmark security reviews of your environment including vulnerability assessment and security control analysis. A sound architecture and proper configuration are paramount to a secure cloud environment, but also careful consideration of customersâ regular operational procedures must be accounted for.
Given the increasing complexity of cloud environments, how does DoiT assist organizations in navigating multicloud strategies and managing infrastructure across multiple providers?
There are many different reasons customers might choose to leverage a multi-cloud strategy. At DoiT we believe in working backwards from the business objectives. Our consultants will help develop a strategy and architecture that meets business objectives without introducing unnecessary complexity.
One of the many challenges in managing a multi-cloud environment on a day-to-day basis is having visibility across all platforms in a consistent and operational manner. DoiT Cloud Navigator extends visibility and anomaly detection capabilities to overcome these challenges and provide the FinOps tools needed manage cloud costs and infrastructure without compromising the speed or quality of engineering initiatives. This allows for a responsible scaling of the business.
Machine learning and AI are becoming critical components of modern IT strategies. How does DoiT support businesses in integrating these technologies into their operations and leveraging them for competitive advantage?
Following the three-part approach mentioned previously, DoiTâs Cloud Solve enables IT to work with our experienced cloud architects, and provides access to knowledge transfer and other resources to enable them to evaluate internal readiness, identify company-specific use cases and collaboratively create customized GenAI solutions.
DoiT also partners with AWS and Google to help their users develop generative AI solutions using those platforms and their supporting applications.
The process of cloud migration can be daunting for many organizations. What key factors should companies consider to ensure a smooth and successful transition to the cloud with DoiTâs assistance?
A successful migration starts with establishing clear business objectives and success criteria. There are many factors to keep in mind when planning and executing a migration to the cloud, including data governance, security and privacy, cost management, scalability, skills and expertise, potential service disruptions and legacy system compatibility. Overlooking any of these and others can lead to delays and cost overruns for the migration.
What emerging trends or technologies in cloud computing is DoiT particularly excited about, and how do you plan to incorporate these into your offerings to drive future growth and innovation?
We are a company full of passionate cloud experts and every new technology hype cycle excites us immensely. That said, our many combined years of experience have taught us not to focus on finding ways to forcefully fit a new exciting technology in a business, but rather to understand what use cases make sense for a business and add real value. This is a very common mistake customers make when they see new emerging technologies and ask for help implementing them in their environments.
Generative AI right now has us very excited for a number of reasons, but the main reason is we have uncovered so many high value use cases for businesses across industries to adopt the technology. Starting with basic productivity and insight use cases, nearly everyone can benefit from GenAI. Moving from there on into AI-powered service development and disruptive GenAI product technologies, we believe the skies are the limit for our customers and weâd love to help them find their path to adoption and production.
Thank you for the great interview, readers who wish to learn more should visit DoiT.

pls sir,,,, more dungeoneer konig and knight gf,,,, pls,,,,
why do you guys like seeing him suffer⊠part 3 of this guy i suppose! what are the sillies up to nowâŠ.
dungeoneer! König x fem! reader
content/warnings: injury, violence, does it count as animal death if a gnoll dies i wonderâŠ
Sheâs not entirely as adept as he is with these things, at least, thatâs what heâs believed thus far. How could she be? A woman like her belongs in painted portraits adorning castle walls, not down in the dark with rarely little more than blades and sprays of blood for company.
Despite his assessment, when a particularly nasty gnoll manages to land a deep bite into Königâs shoulder, itâs her that saves him. The pain is instant, warm salivating fangs digging past all defenses and pushing straight into muscle. The gnoll even has the audacity to huff out what sounds like a whine of delight when warm blood spurts straight into its maw. Perhaps, had he not been so focused on the lady knight, he wouldnât have made such an error. Even now, rather than moving to overpower his aggressor, he watches her as she weaves through the debris of the tight corridor, her rapier readied at her side.
Heâs fortunate that she reacts immediately, driving the sword so deeply into the beastâs guts that König could almost swear he feels the sharpened tip brush over his own tunic before she presses her boot to the gnollâs spine and pivots backwards to free her blade, now glistening in crimson. Itâs gruesome and foul but the look in her eyes is anything butâ only tender.
âThought he went for your neckâŠâ The concern in her voice rings out clear, her hands trembling when she sheaths the blade and takes his arm into both of her own to lead him out of the decrepit dungeon. Thereâs nothing here apart from cobwebs and enraged monsters, no signs of a treasure promised. It was foolish of him to even drag her out here and now sheâs.. caring for him. Oddly enough, this is the first time in a long stretch heâs had any woman willingly do just that without pity or disdain.
He tries to protest; the wound isnât that bad, just a few punctures where fangs met flesh. Still, she props him against a sturdy oak, straddles his lap as she takes a dagger to begin tearing away his clothes.
âYou donât need toâŠâ He trails off when she begins to clean the wounds, a little hiss of breath from the sudden sting of some pungent alcohol sheâs produced from her bag, a sigh of relief when she smears the balm and wraps the wound tightly with a length of silk.
Sheâs not as indifferent to him as she pretends to be. Not at all.
More often than not his longing stares are met with a curious glance from her, maybe a soft huff of breath when she turns to look away. After his injury, König finds sheâs quite affectionate too. She forces him down to kneel in shallow water while she meticulously cleans him, fusses over the wound as though it were her own, telling him he should not move too much lest he irritates it and draws out other beasts with the scent of his blood. She even gives him an almost imperceptible kiss on the cheek once sheâs finished.
Come nightfall, sheâs migrated from her bed to his own. There are no inns this far out, only rolling fields and forests. Theyâre camped out in the open, a horrid idea in the event of bandits, but she insists on watching over him through the nightâ if anyone comes, theyâll be struck down by this cocky, vigilant lady. He doesnât doubt her ability anymore.
Their torches have long since burned out, and seeing as she wonât allow him to do so much as brush his hair from his face, stoking a fire seems out of the question. The glow of the moon provides enough visibility for her to see he isnât clammy and feverish from infection, and thatâs satisfying enough for her.
When dawn rises, a soft yellow glow dimmed by pillowy white clouds, König finds her not awake, but curled against his side, still wearing that heavy armor. Though thereâs still a dull ache in his shoulder, one that screams heâll be reprimanded if caught, he diligently works at the straps and buckles to free it from all but her chest before she stirs. When those eyes stare up at him, his heart flutters in a way heâs not so sure it ever had before. Thereâs always a tingle during an invigorating battle or the wave of excitement that washes over him when he takes his first step to descend into a dark crypt.
This is different.
He finds that itâs not just a blistering lust he feels for her anymore, but an unwavering sense of belonging at her side.
â⊠told you not to move,â she grumbles, batting his hands away as they rest over the straps along her shoulders. He could never fully place why she looks so different without heavy steel securing her, like a drab cocoon cracking open to reveal an achingly beautiful butterfly. âYou should still be sleeping.â
âJa, but you looked uncomfortable.â
âIâm not even supposed to be asleep.â Follows it up with a laugh that breezes like the most gentle song to his ears.
When they begin to gather their things to move on to the next destination, a small village near the coast, he realizes just what this bizarre feeling is. Itâs love, or at least the closest to it that he still believes in.
âIs it against your code to marry?,â he asks, nonchalant as their next journey begins.
Sheâs busying herself looking over the map, her fingertips ghosting over the weathered parchment ad if the carve a path. The question doesnât register for a moment, but when it does, her brow raises slightly in confusion.
âYou know that Iâm not a knight, König.â
âYou are to me.â
She pauses for a moment, nearly dropping the map as her steps come to a sudden halt. She rolls the parchment back up, glancing away from him then.
âThen no, I suppose itâs not.â

Cloud-based ERP and Business- Right Time to Migrate is Now

Many businesses rely on SAP Business One (SAP B1) to optimize their workflows and increase operational efficiency. However, small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) with diverse business models require more advanced solutions to stay competitive in todayâs fast-paced environment. Cloud technology can address this need, and the SAP Business One Cloud solution offers numerous benefits, giving businesses an edge over competitors.
In this article, we will explore the importance of cloud-based SAP Business One and key factors to consider before migrating your existing SAP B1 to the cloud. Let's begin by understanding the concept of cloud-based ERP.
Importance of Moving On-Premise SAP B1 to the Cloud
A cloud-powered ERP solution differs from an on-premise one in that it doesnât require any hardware or software installation. As a managed cloud solution, it provides seamless access from anywhere, anytime, as long as there is an internet connection. SAP Business One Cloud is an example of such a cloud ERP solution.
In todayâs environment, where digital transformation is key to success, transitioning to a cloud-based solution is a strategic decision for businesses. Migrating your on-premise SAP B1 to the cloud offers benefits such as scalability, agility, and flexibility, all at a lower cost.
For many SMBs and startups, this cloud-based solution helps reduce costs and enhances productivity through the power of cloud technology. However, it's essential to consider several factors during SAP Business One Cloud migration to fully leverage these benefits. Letâs look at these factors before outlining the step-by-step guide for migrating your SAP B1 system to the cloud.
Key Considerations Before Migrating to SAP Business One Cloud
SAP Business One Cloud can provide significant advantages for forward-looking SMEs. However, migrating your existing SAP B1 to the cloud is a complex process with many factors to consider. When deciding to migrate to SAP Business One Cloud, keep the following factors in mind:
1. Cost of Ownership
This is one of the most crucial factors, whether you're deploying SAP B1 to the cloud or migrating your current ERP. Cloud-based SAP Business One requires monthly subscription fees for access to licenses. However, this cost is much lower than that of on-premise solutions, which demand expensive in-house infrastructure and continuous maintenance.
2. Implementation Time
Implementing an on-premise SAP Business One ERP can take anywhere from 3 to 6 months. Many small and mid-sized businesses find this process cumbersome and time-consuming. Cloud migration is generally quicker and more efficient. A trusted managed cloud services provider can handle the migration process with minimal disruption and in less time.
3. Collaboration and Accessibility
With remote or hybrid working becoming the norm post-pandemic, itâs essential to ensure the cloud-based ERP is easily accessible for remote teams. The SAP B1 Cloud should be available to users anywhere, via the internet. Additionally, it should support seamless collaboration between different teams, no matter their location.
4. Reliability of Provider
The reliability of your cloud service provider is a critical factor. Many cloud providers offer cloud migration services, but itâs vital to choose a trusted and reputable one. Understand the terms of maintenance, upgrades, and technical support to ensure minimal disruptions during your SAP B1 migration to the cloud.
Step-by-Step Guide to Migrate Your Existing SAP B1 to the Cloud
SAP Business One Cloud is a popular solution for small and mid-sized businesses. Regardless of the industry, businesses can benefit from a cloud-based ERP solution by migrating their on-premise SAP B1. Hereâs a step-by-step guide to completing the migration process effectively:
Step 1:Â Assess Existing Environment
Before initiating the migration, itâs crucial to evaluate your current setup and business needs. Examine dependencies, customizations, goals, and integrations with the help of a cloud service provider. This will help you identify potential challenges and ensure a smooth transition from on-premise to the cloud.
Step 2:Â Choose the Right Plan
Managed cloud providers offer various plans to meet different business needs. Youâll need to select a plan that aligns with your companyâs size, goals, and performance requirements. Consider factors such as data storage, scalability, and processing power when choosing a package.
Step 3:Â Backup and Data Storage
During the migration process, protecting corporate data is vital. Make sure to back up your on-premise SAP B1 data to prevent any data loss or corruption during the migration. Using advanced migration tools can help ensure a seamless transfer and minimize downtime while maintaining data integrity.
Step 4:Â Application and Database Migration
The next step is migrating your SAP Business One application and databases to the cloud server. A technical team from your cloud service provider can assist in ensuring a secure and efficient migration. Once the transfer is complete, validate the functionality of your SAP B1 application in the new cloud environment.
Step 5:Â Integration and Performance Testing
Thoroughly test all integrations with other business applications and processes to ensure seamless connectivity in the cloud-driven environment. Extensive testing will help identify and resolve compatibility issues, ensuring uninterrupted workflows and synchronized data.
Step 6:Â User Training and Adoption
Prepare your team for the transition by providing comprehensive training on the new cloud-based environment. This will help users familiarize themselves with the enhanced features, accessibility, and collaboration tools available in the cloud.
Step 7:Â Go Live and Monitoring
Coordinate with your cloud providerâs support team to finalize the process and go live. Implement robust monitoring tools to track system performance, identify issues, and ensure the continued optimization of your SAP Business One application in the cloud.
