Chelsea Turbulence
In my first blog post, I will be talking about my beloved Chelsea football club and reviewing our season so far, including the bad run of form (including the Southampton defeat yesterday) that’s seen us lose 5 out of our last 7 league games, four of which were worryingly against teams in the bottom half of the premier League.
This inconsistency of ours is very reminiscent to Chelsea before Abramovich. There were times when we would get an amazing result, and then a disastrous result the next. For example, in December 2001, we won at Manchester United 3-0, a wonderful result considering the comprehensive nature of the win and that Man United were champions back then and the favourites for the title back then. However, a few days later, that 3-0 win at Old Trafford was followed up by a 1-0 home defeat to Charlton Athletic. For me this season, it’s easy for me to be in despair as a Chelsea fan as losing 5 out of 7 league games is relegation form, but what is important to remember is that we were on a transfer ban, therefore meaning we couldn’t buy anyone, including a replacement for our star player Eden Hazard, who departed for Real Madrid last summer, so at the start of the season, I would’ve just been happy to avoid relegation! Christian Pulisic finally being available to play for us has helped us though, even if he doesn’t fully compensate the departure of Hazard. Hiring Frank Lampard as our new manager, replacing Juventus-bound Maurizio Sarri, gave me some joy as seeing a Chelsea legend returning as our manager was always going to be good to see, but also seeing our former academy coach returning as assistant manager of the whole team rather than just managing academy players meant that our youth players will finally get a chance in the first team. I know we are a big club and therefore us Chelsea fans will be very demanding, but Lampard himself know how competitive we should be and while there’s no doubt that many of our young players have talent, it will take them time for them to become players of the highest standard.
Before the Man City game last month, we were in the top 4 by 9 points, and now after our bad run of form, we’re only 4th by 3 points. As disappointing as this collapse of ours has been, Chelsea have already exceeded expectations this season, playing great football and our youth players like fikayo tomori, Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham have performed well this season, with the latter getting 11 goals in the league. For years, us Chelsea fans have been crying out for our manager to start giving our youth players chances in the first team, and it shouldn’t have to take a transfer ban for that to happen. It still pains me to see how we let the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku and Mohamed Salah go and then become excellent players elsewhere. Previous managers have been too hasty with our youngsters and that’s why we haven’t seen an academy graduate become a first team regular with us since John Terry. Yes, Maurizio Sarri have Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi a run of games in the first team last season, particularly in the Europa league, but he was under pressure to do so. Prior to the start of last season, Ruben Loftus-Cheek said he didn’t want to be loaned out again, which Sarri had planned to do. Loftus-cheek said he wanted to be part of the Chelsea team or be sold to another club where he will play regular first team football. Therefore, Sarri has to keep him and make him part of the squad. In January 2019, Hudson-Odoi had been interesting Bayern Munich, and as he wasn’t getting into our first team and having seen how well Jadon Sancho had been doing in the bundesliga, Hudson-Odoi wanted to leave Chelsea and join Bayern. Knowing Hudson-Odoi’s potential, Sarri didn’t want to lose him and therefore had to give him a run of games in the first team. Both Loftus-Cheek and Hudson-Odoi impressed when they played in the first team and gave a positive indication of what they can bring to our team. The impressive form of tomori, Mount and Abraham has finally vindicated our loan system which had been criticised for a long time. Would the trio of youngsters have made the impact that they have made if they came straight from the academy without being loaned out? Possibly not. Roman Abramovich has invested a lot of money into our academy and the loan system was invented to give our younger players the chance to regular first team football at a competitive level. Previous manager have abused that system and used it to profit from our younger players by eventually selling them rather than actually developing them so they can eventually play for Chelsea one day.
Even when we were on a great run and won 6 league games in a row, defence was an issue for us. Defence was an issue for us last season too. Kurt Zouma and Andreas Christensen don’t seem to have developed as much as we had hoped for a few years ago. It was a bad injury back in 2016 that has stifled Zouma’s development when his style of play was reminiscent to Marcel Desailly and it looked like he could be our main centre back for the next decade. It’s never nice seeing bad injuries on footballers, particularly promising young players. As well as Tomori has done this season, he still has a lot to learn and unfortunately has a tendency to make silly mistakes that unnecessarily gift chances to the opposition. There are times when we have won games that we should’ve won more comfortably but then unnecessarily gift the other time a chance to get back into the game and make things more difficult for ourselves. I actually believe the biggest loss this season has been Gary Cahill. Even though he’s not as good as he was a few years ago, his experience could’ve helped tomori’s development while also covering for the absence of Antonio Rüdiger, who we have really missed when he’s been out injured.
Thankfully we can finally be allowed to buy new players in January, and the first half of this season has helped us have a better idea of where to improve. I think we do need a world class winger who can always make something out of nowhere just like Hazard did. I think if we look at those home defeats against West Ham, Bournemouth and Southampton, we didn’t have someone who is world class to create chances that could’ve got us back in the game. Not only could we not have gotten a goal in those game, we didn’t create enough clear chances to do so. Callum Hudson-Odoi struggled against Southampton yesterday, and it looked like it will take him time to become a world class winger. Willian has done well this season, but I don’t think he’s as world class as Hazard was and for me, he’s more of a squad player who can do a job when someone’s out injured or can make something happen from the bench. Christian Pulisic has also done well for us, although it’s taken him time to make his mark on the team, but I don’t think he’s consistent yet, bearing in mind he’s still a young player. Jadon Sancho would be my first choice. He’s done excellently with Dortmund and England, knows Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham through the England under 21s and knows Pulisic from their time with Dortmund. We’ve also been linked with Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha, who is an excellent player and can make something happen out of nowhere like Hazard did, but I think the £80m asking price is probably too much money for him as he’s 27 years old, whereas approximately £120m for 19-year-old Jadon sancho would arguably present better value for money.
Left back is another key position we have to improve on. Azpilicueta’s ability has unfortunately declined this season, having been a wonderful servant for us and can play anywhere in our back four, Émerson just doesn’t look like he’s good enough to be a starter for us and Marcos Alonso is more of a wing back than a left back, so when he’s been playing as a full back, he looks like he’s being played out of position. Ben Chilwell would be my first choice as left-back, who’s done so well with Leicester this season, and I hope a deal can be done with Leicester next month. If we have to wait till the summer to get him, I’d be happy with that, as I can’t think of any alternative targets for the left back position. The jury is still out on the centre back position, because I’m yet to see if Rüdiger and Tomori can pair up together in that position. It would be nice to see Nathan Aké back, who we shouldn’t had sold in the first place. Ake can also play as a left back too, which would be useful if we can’t get Chilwell in January. AC Milan’s Alessio Romagnoli would be good for us too, with many regarding him as the next Alessandro Nesta. There’s also been talk about Frank Lampard wanting you replace our goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. I personally have no problem with Kepa, I know he is still only 25 which is a young age for a goalkeeper. The thing I don’t get, however, is that when we signed him in August 2018, the club came out and said we’ve been tracking this goalkeeper for the last few years, but his contract was about to expire six months prior to us signing him for over £70m, so if we knew that Kepa was the man we wanted to replace Thibaut Courtois, who had been vocal about wanting to return to madrid to be with his family, why didn’t we make a move for Kepa then? It seemed unnecessary to buy him for a record fee in the summer after he had just signing a new contract with Athletic Bilbao six months earlier.
We should sell Olivier Giroud in January as he doesn’t seem to fit in with Lampard’s style of play, and I think a new back-up striker is needed, and it’s so difficult to buy squad players as every great player wants to play regular first team football, and even warming the bench for a big club like Chelsea may not seem an attractive prospect for them. We’ve been linked with Moussa Dembélé and Timo Werner, who could be good players for us, but would they want to just be deputies to Tammy Abraham? Possibly not, but I think Abraham himself needs some serious competition as he’s only got 1 goal in his last 6 league games and that competition could help him up his game.
We need to be patient with our young players as this season is a transitional season for us and it’s a big learning curb for them. We also have to remember that Frank Lampard, while he’s a club legend, is a young manager and has shown great potential as a manager when he was at Derby last season. I know many will argue that maybe we should’ve gone for a more experienced manager, but there weren’t many managers who we could’ve attracted with a transfer ban, and the transfer ban actually was a blessing in disguise for Lampard as it buys him time. What I found interesting was upon being appointed, Lampard said he didn’t want any special treatment from the board. We know how ruthless Chelsea’s board is, as you’d expect from any big club, and Lampard knows that whatever decisions the boardroom will make as it will always be whatever decision is best for the club. We have exceeded expectations this season, but being a big club that we are, we must always seek to improve so we can start winning titles again in the future.

Van der Wiek to train alone after '0-5 disaster' 먹튀검증

Donnie van der Beek volunteered for additional training despite the loss.
Manchester United lost 0-5 to Liverpool in the ninth round of the 2021-22 season held at Old Trafford, Manchester, England on the 25th (Korean time). As a result, Manchester United fell to 7th place in the league table after losing 4 matches in a row (1 draw and 3 losses).
An official working for Irish broadcaster 'OFF THE BALL' took a picture of the athlete training alone at Old Trafford, where all the spectators had left. The main character was Van der Beek. Van der Wiek joined Manchester United through the summer transfer window for the 2019-20 season. At that time, the transfer fee was 39 million euros (about 52.8 billion won), which was not a small amount.
Van der Wiek was a key player in Ajax's European Champions League (UCL) semifinals in the 2018-19 season, and was recognized for his skills enough to be included in the 30 Ballon d'Or finalists in the 2019 season. However, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did not actively hire Van der Beek. To be honest, Van der Beek only heated the bench.
Van der Beek sought a loan in the transfer window last summer, but Solskjaer reportedly turned it down. He looked like he was going to be moderate because he turned down a loan, but van der Beek is still benched. He has appeared in all three games this season and has only appeared in the league for six minutes.
In this match too, coach Solskjaer instructed Van der Beek to warm up, but in the end Edinson Cavani and Diogo Dalot were added. From the player's point of view, this is a situation that can only be angry. But van der Beek behaved professionally. He must have been filled with resentment after witnessing a 0-5 home loss to rivals Liverpool, but he remained alone and trained. It is interpreted that he was trying to secure even a little playing time.
Van der Beek is likely to leave if the current situation continues. Reporter Fabricio Romano, known as an expert on the European transfer market, recently stated that "van der Beek is likely to leave Manchester United in January." In fact, van der Beek is said to have even replaced the agent.

Man Utd £2m demand halts Southampton deal
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Brandon Williams’ loan move to Southampton has hit a snag over Manchester United’s demands.Saints have been keen on securing a deal for the 20-year-old since last summer but believe a £2million loan fee is too much. And The Sun report that a deal is unlikely unless United reduce their demands. The versatile full-back started just two Premier League games last season and is thought to be keen on a brief spell away from the club to get more games under his belt. MAILBOX: Southgate is too nice. So England should hire… Roberto Martinez It’s thought he would still want to leave the club if Alex Telles joins Jose Mourinho at Roma. Norwich and Newcastle have also shown an interest in a loan for Williams, who has made 51 appearances for the Red Devils since his debut in September 2019. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is willing to let a number of his young players leave on loan this summer, to earn vital experience he may not be able to give them at Old trafford next season. He recently told the club website: “We’ve already lined up a few and some of them are still in discussions between us and the players about where is the best place to go.” Williams was ahead of Luke Shaw in the pecking order at United for a time, but Shaw has now established himself as a vital player for both club and country. Even Jose Mourinho – Shaw’s greatest critic – admits he may have been too harsh on the full-back. He said: “I always try to find what I can see as the weakness of the player and sometimes I’m successful, other times I’m not. “Maybe I was too harsh with him, maybe he was not ready for that. “The injury was such an incredible injury but I think in this moment the country looks to him and deservedly as a proper left-back for the national team from my side I can only say congratulations to him because he did it by himself for sure, with the coaches of the club and the national team. “I think that he has more to give because his potential is good and now he is defending well and knows how to defend inside which was a weakness for him and when he goes forward the team loses the ball, his recovery back shows how much better intensity going forward, more intensity, more crosses. I think he was good.” Read the full article

Everton: Carlo Ancelotti 'a massive coup' but is he right for Toffees?

Everton: Carlo Ancelotti 'a massive coup' but is he right for Toffees?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Will Carlo Ancelotti’s experience at Goodison Park be a happier one then that of 2011?
Carlo Ancelotti’s last experience of Goodison Park and the Premier League was being sacked by Chelsea in a side room on the final day of the season in May 2011 – now he is back at Everton as the biggest managerial appointment in the club’s history.
Ancelotti was greeted after a 1-0 loss by then Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay to hear the news that his two-year reign was over after failing to follow up a Premier League and FA Cup Double in 2010 with a trophy the following season.
Since then, the 60-year-old Italian’s travels have taken him to Paris St-Germain, Real Madrid – where he won the Champions League for the third time in 2014 – and Napoli, who sacked him last week.
Is Ancelotti the right fit for Everton?
This has been the burning question since Ancelotti’s arrival at Everton was first suggested, and has led to an outbreak of genuine anger among many fans who feel those questioning the appointment were telling the club to know their place.
Quite simply, Everton have appointed the best, most successful man available for the job. How can they be criticised for that?
It carries risks, but so would the retrograde step of reappointing David Moyes, favoured for a time by some in the Goodison Park boardroom, or even Mikel Arteta, appointed by Arsenal on Friday but who also had admirers at Everton.
Few managers come with a guarantee these days.
Ancelotti is football royalty, one of only three men to lift Europe’s elite trophy three times, alongside Liverpool’s Bob Paisley and Real Madrid’s Zinedine Zidane.
His appointment instantly gives Everton global relevance.
He may be understated but Ancelotti’s achievements at AC Milan – where he won the Champions League in 2003 and 2007, although he was also in charge for Liverpool’s famous comeback in Istanbul in 2005 – make him box office.
The debate around his suitability for Everton is a valid one, but it is hard to question or criticise owner Farhad Moshiri for pulling off this undoubted coup.
It is a show of ambition by Moshiri. He has handed Ancelotti a lucrative long-term contract and will also back him heavily in the transfer market. It could light up Goodison Park.
Moshiri’s reign has been disappointing so far, but he deserves huge credit for refusing to accept second best when such an outstanding candidate suddenly appeared on the market at the same time he was seeking a new manager.
Moshiri has always wanted a ‘Hollywood’ manager with the reputation and successes of Jose Mourinho, Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola.
Now Everton have one. And it can only be cause for optimism.
Ancelotti won the Champions League twice with AC Milan
The key question mark – and there is one – is that Ancelotti’s successes have been built on brilliantly calm man-management and tactical wisdom, which have made him the ideal facilitator of great players such as Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid.
Everton is a completely different task: rebuilding a team assembled on largely unwise spending that needs work from the ground up.
It is different from what Ancelotti is used to. However, it is disrespectful to suggest a man of such calibre and experience would find such a task beyond him.
And perhaps talk of a “fit” should be the other way around. Maybe it is down to Everton – who have been struggling before hiring Ancelotti – to mould themselves to fit him.
And this is where Ancelotti’s reputation will come in, where his name alone and the opportunity to play under him will attract players who would not have previously considered Everton.
Would this be the case with Moyes, whose name was greeted with such negativity by Toffees supporters when raised? Would this be the case with Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe or the Portuguese coach Vitor Pereira, who were also mentioned?
It would not. So while there is a debate to be had, it is hard to see the bad news for Everton in Ancelotti’s appointment.
Ancelotti appointed as Everton manager

What do Everton fans want from their new manager?
Ancelotti’s big tasks
Ancelotti is fortunate that he arrives at Everton with the club, team and fans reignited by Duncan Ferguson’s spell in caretaker charge.
The pure theatre of Ferguson’s presence in the technical area lifted the gloom of Silva’s final days and allowed Ancelotti to benefit from optimism after potential tough run of fixtures yielded a win against Chelsea and a draw at Manchester United, before the Carabao Cup quarter-final loss to Leicester City on penalties after a stirring fightback from two goals down.
Everton caretaker boss Ferguson said: “Nobody knows the players better than me. I’ve been here many a year and hopefully the new guy coming in uses me.”
Ancelotti is sure to make it his business to find out why 19-year-old compatriot Moise Kean has not made an impact, even being substituted as a substitute by Ferguson at Old Trafford.
Kean will surely welcome Ancelotti’s cool, analytical, arm-around-the-shoulder style, not to mention another Italian voice, and the forward might see his arrival as the chance to get his Everton career going.
The youngster has created some of his own problems – he was excluded from the matchday squad at Southampton in November for being late for a team meeting for the second time – but there is no doubt this is an untapped talent Ancelotti will hope to release.
Ancelotti has quality to work with in Brazil striker Richarlison, who has just signed a new five-year contract, France left-back Lucas Digne and England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. Iceland midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson is enigmatic but gifted.
Striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, 22, has looked transformed under Ferguson, while another young Englishman, 21-year-old midfielder Tom Davies, can only develop via Ancelotti’s wisdom.
The new manager needs to make Everton tougher to beat and more steely in the face of adversity. They never came from behind to win a league game during Marco Silva’s 18 months in charge.
Ancelotti is certain to be in the transfer market in January and beyond.
Everton’s summer trading under director of football Marcel Brands was flawed, leaving the squad light in central defence after on-loan Kurt Zouma returned to Chelsea. The need for a recognised goalscorer has never been adequately addressed since Romelu Lukaku left for Manchester United in summer 2017.
How will Everton’s new set-up work?
Moise Kean signed a five-year deal with Everton and Marcel Brands (left) was the driving force behind the deal
This will be one of the most intriguing aspects of Everton’s marquee appointment.
Everton brought in Brands in May 2018, shortly before Silva’s arrival as manager, after huge success at PSV Eindhoven. Such was his early impact that he was appointed to the board in January 2019 and, according to chief executive Denise Barrett-Baxendale, was responsible for the “whole football strategy”.
This dynamic surely shifts, even with subtlety, with Ancelotti coming in.
It is clear this move is driven by the ambition of Moshiri and it is likely such a significant and influential figure as Ancelotti will want to exert more power, understandably, than the understated Silva.
Brands has also been responsible for transfer work at Everton – he was the man behind the Kean purchase from Juventus.
Everton had operated a model of buying younger players with potential sell-on value, such as Kean.
Will that change now?
Ancelotti’s pull means more established players could be lured to Everton, who will clearly back him with high finance.
The Italian’s relaxed, cool personality means there is every chance the changes will develop without friction, but the strong-minded and powerful Brands will surely also want his say.
If Everton pull it off it will be a powerful partnership – but it will need to bed in.
For now, however, Everton have every right to celebrate a massive coup and Moshiri’s boldest statement of ambition and intent.

Hiring a Leicester Airport Taxi Transfer Benefits
Tumblr media
When going on a vacation or holiday, you want to arrive at your destination with minimum discomfort. Flights can be uncomfortable and tiring so it's important to ensure your transfer to Leicester Airport is simple. To do this you need to choose the right mode of transport. Buses and trains in Leicester are often hectic, cramped and noisy and can often be delayed. Ultimately choosing the wrong option could ruin your trip. Taking a taxi to Leicester Airport is the ideal method to get you there safely and on time. Below are some advantages of a Leicester Airport transfer.
Leicester taxi drivers have an excellent knowledge of the local area and places to go and visit. Leicester's thriving City Centre is always lively, with so many popular bars and restaurants you're always guaranteed a great atmosphere. Whether you are planning to visit the trendy Northern Quarter or upmarket Deans gate your driver will get you right to the door in style. The famous Curry mile is only a few miles away from Leicester Airport, with a huge selection of the some of the best Indian restaurants in the UK, a must visit.
Leicester Airport taxis are familiar with all three terminals and will pick you up at the specified time or drop you off to the correct check-in entrance. If you are going to London Heathrow airports from Leicester airport you can hire Leicester to Heathrow taxi, the vehicle always provides you a ride that is comfortable and relaxed, and local drivers are familiar with the city and surrounding areas. People often fly in to Leicester Airport for local events or to watch a football match at the Etihad or Old Trafford, and the comfort of knowing your taxi is waiting right outside the terminal avoids the hectic demands of public transport. They are clean and more spacious than the bus, train or coach, and taxis are also far less noisy and bumpy than a typical bus ride.
For larger parties, taking a 7 seater to Leicester Airport is often much cheaper than taking a coach, train or even driving in your own car. They are available 24 hours a day and can be provided on short notice. Nothing needs to be perfectly planned out in advance and booking a ride is always easy and convenient.
A taxi service is both professional and personal. If required, the driver meets and greets you with a sign which states your name or the name of the company for which you work. For each terminal at Leicester Airport, the driver would be at the exit into the main hall as you leave the baggage claim area. This makes it stress-free and speedier to locate your ride. From that point forward, the driver follows each and every detail of the pre-arranged plans for the trip, to the letter. Any additional requests will be decided upon as you take your journey to the airport. When you arrive at your terminal, the driver will make certain that you are dropped off right at the check in.
Attractions in Leicester are extremely popular and getting around can waste time when you have so much to see. The famous Trafford Centre is the number one shopping destination in the area but lies miles away from the City Centre and getting there by tram or bus can be time-consuming, hence booking a taxi is the best option. The iconic Hilton Hotel, the Marriot and Crowne Plaza Hotels all allow for taxi services to bring you to the front door.
For people who live further away from Leicester Airport in places like Cheshire, Merseyside and Yorkshire, Leicester city Centre, using a Leicester to Birmingham Airport transfer service helps avoid having to spend extra hours on public transport, and gets direct to your front door. Travelling on a bus or train can mean you need to still get a taxi home when you arrive at the station, so getting a taxi direct from the airport makes sense. There is no need to carry those heavy bags everywhere, lifting them on and off cramped trains and dragging them along the platform can be avoided completely.
Licensed taxi drivers like the ones in Leicester are respectful, courteous, experienced and they will assist you always as well as respecting your privacy. The drivers will assist the you with the loading and unloading of your luggage. The ride is also tailored to your liking; for instance, if you want to listen to the radio, you may. If you want it to be quiet, the driver respects that.
A good taxi service can also provide you options for choosing the appropriate mode of transportation. There are Saloon cars, Executive cars, Estates and Minibuses. When taking a taxi to Leicester Airport, the ride is far more relaxed than taking a bus, train or coach. Taking the bus or a train can be particularly stressful in that you are in crowded space, which can make you feel uneasy. A taxi is always more comfortable. Importantly you can also make stops on the way, if you forgot something, or if you just need a bite to eat. When using taxi services, you are truly the one in the driver's seat when it comes to making the decisions.
In the modern age, booking taxis online is easy and it saves time and stress, much less planning required to fit in with journey flights. Taxis are there to make sure that your journey to the airport is a safe and efficient start of your holiday.

Man Utd news LIVE: Solskjaer sack latest, Sancho transfer instruction, Glazers’ plan | Football | Sport
Manchester United news LIVE updates
Saturday, October 12
Manchester United could look to Julian Nagelsmann to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Jadon Sancho has been told to snub a transfer to the Red Devils
The Glazers have a plan to invest money in refurbishing Old Trafford
Mario Mandzukic continues to be linked with a January move to United
Sir Alex Ferguson and Ed Woodward relationship
Manchester United chief Ed Woodward reportedly barely speaks to Sir Alex Ferguson when they’re sat in the directors box.
Woodward has been vice-executive chairman since 2013 – the same year the Scot walked away from Old Trafford to retire.
Manchester United have endured a difficult few years in the time since Ferguson walked away, winning the FA Cup, EFL Cup and Europa League but failing to challenge for the Premier League title or the Champions League.
And The Athletic say one person at United has claimed that the duo rarely speak at matches.
“They can be ten yards from each other and not shake hands,” the person is quoted as saying.
Another source says differently but the report goes into detail about their relationship.
It is claimed Ferguson and Woodward have been on different wavelengths ever since the summer the Scot retired.

Real reason why Jose Mourinho signed Fred
Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho only signed Fred because he felt the alternative was no midfielder at all, reports say.
Fred touched down from Shakhtar Donetsk back in the summer of 2018, with the Red Devils beating competition from Manchester City to get a transfer over the line.
However, the Manchester United star has struggled during his time at Old Trafford, most recently toiling in a 1-0 defeat to Newcastle.
And the Athletic claim Mourinho only landed Fred because he felt that, if he didn’t, he wouldn’t get a midfielder at all.
The Red Devils refute this, insisting the Portuguese was the one driving the deal for the midfielder.

Man Utd told to sign Kasper Schmeichel
Manchester United supporters want to see Kasper Schmeichel at Old Trafford on a regular basis.
They urged manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to sign the 32-year-old, after he saved Denmark on numerous occasions in their match against Switzerland.
Schmeichel made a terrific diving save to keep out Arsenal’s Grant Xhaka in the first half.
United fans liked what they saw from the Foxes’ goalkeeper, and want the Old Trafford hierarchy to sign Schmeichel this summer.
“Kasper Schmeichel would’ve done well at United,” tweeted one United fan at full-time.
“Great goalkeeper, Schmeichel, from Denmark,” added another supporter.
“He’s got his father’s talent. I’d like to see him defending United too.”

Man Utd need a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Manchester United have struggled this season due to their lack of attacking threat.
That’s the view of Tony Cascarino, who believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs a striker like Arsenal ace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
“[Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang’s goalscoring record is extraordinary,” Cascarino said on talkSPORT.
“It’s one thing I look at United and think they haven’t got a [Sergio] Aguero, a [Harry] Kane, a Aubameyang, a [Alexandre] Lacazette, a [Mohamed] Salah or [Sadio] Mane.
“They haven’t got any of that and that’s why their failing because they don’t have forwards with that quality.
“I’ve always argued that Manchester United as a football club should never employ a coach that plays cautious football because the club is not built on that,.
“From the 60s and onwards, the club was built to entertain at the highest level with players who were good enough technically to wear that shirt.
“I think they’ve gone away from that.”

Juan Mata and David De Gea knew Jose Mourinho sack wouldn’t solve problems
Manchester United duo David De Gea and Juan Mata supposedly warned friends that Jose Mourinho’s exit would not mark an end to the club’s problems.
Mourinho was axed by the Red Devils last December after overseeing a difficult start to the Premier League season.
Manchester United have since hired Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the Portuguese’s successor but he, like his predecessors, looks to be in line for the sack.
The Red Devils sit just two points above the relegation zone and pressure is mounting on Solskjaer to turn things around.
And The Athletic say that, after Mourinho was axed, Mata and De Gea issued a warning.
It is claimed they told friends that the departure of the manager would not change things at United and believed the issue ran deeper.

Rio Ferdinand on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sacking
Rio Ferdinand believes the Manchester United board knew when appointing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that there would be plenty of ups and downs at the start of the 46-year-old’s tenure.
“There’s no way that the club would have thought that this would have been rosy straight away,” Ferdinand said on talkSPORT.
“They’re not naive enough to think this is going to be a situation that just changes over night.
“This is definitely somewhere where there’s going to be early pain and result won’t go our way, especially with the recruitment and that they’ve started to go with younger players.
“That’s why I don’t see there being a change straight away.
“I’ll be very surprised if I wake up, open a paper or an app and see that he’s gone so quickly.”

Paul Pogba to miss Liverpool match
Manchester United star Paul Pogba looks certain to miss his side’s clash with Liverpool next weekend through injury, according to reports.
Pogba still has his foot in a protective cast after suffering an injury earlier this season.
On Friday, the Frenchman posted “Almost there”, alongside a picture of himself working out in Dubai where he’s undergoing rehabilitation.
But according to the Daily Mail, Pogba won’t make it back in time for the Liverpool game at Old Trafford next week.
He’s due to return to Carrington in the next few days where club doctors will determine the severity of his injury and how much more recovery time he will need.

Mario Mandzukic to Man Utd backed
Mario Mandzukic’s move to Manchester United is “pretty much signed and sealed”, according to Liverpool legend Steve Nicol.
Mandzukic has emerged as a serious transfer target for United in the upcoming January window.
“I think it happens and I think it’s pretty much signed and sealed as well,” Nicol told ESPN FC. “So yeah I don’t think there’s any question this is a hit.
“It’s something that United need but let’s be honest, it’s going against all the nonsense they gave us at the start of the season about youth – yeah right. Mandzukic, an old campaigner, experienced. He will come in for a short period of time and do a good job.”

Kalidou Koulibaly speaks on his future
Kalidou Koulibaly has dismissed recent transfer speculation and remains focused on Napoli amid interest from Manchester United.
The Senegal international said: “I’m used to it. So many [stories] come out each day, which say I’m leaving.
“Right now, my only objective is to win with Napoli. I don’t care about the rest.
“Our objective remains to beat the best teams in Italy and win the title.
“This season is more difficult because all the teams have got stronger and Serie A has become more competitive.
“I haven’t made the best start to the season. Juventus remain the team to beat. For our part, we must work even harder, improving our game to get closer to them.
“Our objective is to qualify for the Champions League knockout stage as soon as possible.”

Surprise candidate to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Manchester United may replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann.
Are Manchester United really about to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, just months after they planned for a bright future of success at Old Trafford?
It’s certainly not out of the question. Since getting the job full time in March, on the back of a successful stint as interim boss, Solskjaer has overseen a disastrous run. Now, the club look further away from challenging for major honours than ever before.
Amid their struggles, links to managers have started to emerge. Massimiliano Allegri is available and seemingly the obvious choice to take over.
But, intriguingly, Julian Nagelsmann was tipped to take over during the week.
The RB Leipzig boss has overseen his side’s fine start to the Bundesliga campaign, where they sit just two points behind league leaders Borussia Monchengladbach.
He had previously worked wonders at Hoffenheim, guiding them to a Champions League qualifying spot two years in a row.

Jadon Sancho told to snub Man Utd
England winger Jadon Sancho has been urged to say no to Manchester United, if the club tried to sign him from Borussia Dortmund.
“[From Dortmund] to Manchester United? No, he’d be talking a step down,” he said on ESPN FC.
“Let’s be blunt about it, this is a team in the bottom half of the table.
“This is Manchester United, and they’ve still got the gloss and the glamour that sticks to the name, just about.
“Imagine how Manchester City would feel if the guy who was a kid in their academy went down the road to Manchester United?
“I know Manchester United would be interested, but the queue would be halfway around Europe for this youngster.”

The Glazers have Old Trafford plan
Manchester United’s owners, the Glazer Family, are ready to invest in Old Trafford.
The Glazers have come in for criticism regarding their spending on stadium maintenance and upgrades – leaving Old Trafford aged and lagging behind their rivals’ new modern facilities.
The belief has been that the owners has been shocked by spending on transfer fees and player wages in recent years and have scaled back plans to spend on the stadium.
However, Express Sport can reveal the Glazers do intend to pump money into Old Trafford – and have overseen a £20million investment already.
Part of that was down to VAR, with United introducing a production room for the system.
United have an ongoing multi-million pound refurbishment plan. Last summer that squared to £2m and, this summer, to £3.9m.

Pitso: 'The lesson I learnt from the Man United story'
Pitso: ‘The lesson I learnt from the Man United story’

Tumblr media
Cape Town – Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says that the sacking of Jose Mourinho and hiring of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United taught him a valuable lesson.
After nearly three years at the Old Trafford, Mourinho was shockingly shown the door last December with fan favourite Solskjaer taking over on an interim basis.
The once prolific striker had such a huge influence…

In his career, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has managed Manchester United Under-23s, Molde, Cardiff, Molde again and now Manchester United’s first team – a truly strange career path. He has also never won anything of note, picking up a few Norwegian titles to show for his efforts. Jurgen Klopp has managed Mainz, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool, and has won the Bundesliga title twice, as well as the DFB-Pokal – he has proven himself as a top-class boss, and has turned the Reds into a genuine force. Maurizio Sarri has had a lengthy managerial career spanning 28 years, in which he was able to take Empoli and Napoli to new heights whilst playing an eye-catching style; he also led Chelsea to the Carabao Cup final, earned a third-place finish, and could still win the Europa League with the Blues. Will OGS still be in charge of Man Utd come next May? The Flying Pig discusses in the video below… Unai Emery. A man who has won three Europa League titles, one Ligue 1 success, and the Coupe de France on two occasions. The point of all this? Solskjaer earns more than all of them. Solskjaer, a man woefully under-qualified for the Old Trafford hotseat, a job of such magnitude, earns more than some of Europe’s top coaches and managers of real pedigree. But why? The former United No.20 had declared his current role as his ‘dream job‘ upon his permanent appointment; he was clearly keen to be hired, and nobody else was interested in his services at the time. United didn’t need to lure him into signing on a permanent basis with more money at all. Why would he demand more in order to get his dream job? More to the point, why would United offer him that much given his lack of experience? God knows what went on during contract negotiations between Solskjaer and Woodward, but the decision to place him on a better salary than the likes of Klopp, Emery and Sarri seems absurd and completely needless. Throwing money at people who clearly aren’t worth what they’re being paid is what landed United in the mess they currently find themselves in; this one incident, in isolation, is extremely baffling. #ManchesterUnited #JurgenKlopp #MaurizioSarri

Manchester United to resume their search for a director of football
Manchester United will resume their search for a director of football with Ed Woodward reportedly keen to appoint either Atletico Madrid‘s Andrea Berta or Fabio Paratici of Juventus.
Woodward has considered hiring someone to oversee football operations before but gave up, only for him to decide to now restart the hunt in the coming months.
According to The Telegraph, Berta is among those highly-regarded in the role who could be tempted to move to Old Trafford.
Manchester United chief Ed Woodward is set to restart his search for a director of football
Woodward is keen on either Atletico Madrid’s Andrea Berta or Fabio Paratici (R) of Juventus
Berta (pictured) has helped Diego Simeone turn Atletico Madrid into one of Europe’s top clubs
Other targets include Paratici and Antero Henrique, who is currently without a job after leaving Paris Saint-Germain a year ago.
United have also previously been linked to Red Bull’s footballing guru Ralf Rangnick.
It is claimed the position would be ‘wide-ranging’ and involve working in areas such as recruitment, the club’s training ground and the development of women’s football.
Although Woodward has decided the club would benefit from a director of football he is no rush to hire and has not whittle down a list of candidates.
It is claimed the executive vice-chairman is focused on completing this season and handling the financial problems brought about by the coronavirus pandemic.
It remains to be seen how the new addition to the staff would work with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
The director of football will not be tasked with altering the culture of the club, like Monchi has done at Sevilla for example, but to assist manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the existing management structure.
United’s recruitment was abysmal in the year since Sir Alex Ferguson left but Solskjaer has done well in the transfer market in recent windows, bringing in the likes of Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Bruno Fernandes.
The director of football would ‘work with the current set-up of Solskjaer, his coaches, scouts, data analysts and Matt Judge’, the club’s chief negotiator.
Their first big challenge could be to help the club secure the services of England and Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.
United are known to be keen on bringing him back to the Premier League but their financial power has been reduced by the coronavirus crisis.
Signing Jadon Sancho could be the new director of football’s first big challenge in their post
Dortmund are willing to let him go for the right figure but Solskjaer knows there are other areas of his squad that need strengthening.
It would be unwise to spend too much on Sancho only for the club to then be unable to improve other areas, such as central defence.
United’s recruitment plans will also be dependent on whether or not the club qualify for the Champions League on Sunday.
The Red Devils travel to Leicester on the final day of the Premier League season just one point above the Foxes in the table.
The post Manchester United to resume their search for a director of football appeared first on BBC BREAKING NEWS.

Jose Mourinho named new Tottenham manager succeeding Mauricio Pochettino

Jose Mourinho named new Tottenham manager succeeding Mauricio Pochettino
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tottenham will be the third Premier League club managed by Jose Mourinho
Jose Mourinho has been appointed Tottenham manager, succeeding Mauricio Pochettino who was sacked on Tuesday.
Former Chelsea and Manchester United boss Mourinho has signed a contract until the end of the 2022-23 season.
“The quality in both the squad and the academy excites me,” said the 56-year-old Portuguese. “Working with these players is what has attracted me.”
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy said: “In Jose we have one of the most successful managers in football.”
Tottenham reached the Champions League final last season under Pochettino but lost to Liverpool in Madrid.
The Argentine, who was appointed in May 2014, failed to win a trophy in his time in charge of the north London club with Spurs’ last silverware being the League Cup in 2008.
Levy added: “He (Mourinho) has a wealth of experience, can inspire teams and is a great tactician.
“He has won honours at every club he has coached. We believe he will bring energy and belief to the dressing room.”
Mourinho still lives in London and won three Premier League titles and one FA Cup in two spells at Chelsea, while he won the Europa League and Carabao Cup with Manchester United.
He has also previously managed Portuguese side Porto – where he won the Champions League – Italian club Inter Milan, with whom he claimed a league, cup and Champions League Treble, and Spanish team Real Madrid, who he led to the La Liga title.
Mourinho has been out of work since being sacked as Manchester United manager in December 2018.
He takes over a Spurs side that are 14th in the Premier League and without a win in their last five games.
Mourinho has turned down a number of job opportunities, including in China, Spain and Portugal, since leaving Old Trafford.
Analysis
BBC sports editor Dan Roan
Spurs have never hired a manager as expensive or demanding as Mourinho, nor spent the kind of money on players that he became accustomed to at clubs such as Real Madrid and Manchester United.
But Spurs have come a long way in recent years under Pochettino. They have a new £1bn stadium and training ground, and spent four successive seasons in the Champions League.
They now have a European pedigree, and a hugely talented squad.
Mourinho has been out of the game for almost a year but retained a home in London.
His tribulations at Manchester United saw him lose his ‘Special One’ status, but his many achievements in the game still command widespread respect.
More to follow.
