Shadow Maxwell for a triumphant au type thing, Maxwell posses the codex after dusting like a undertale character and Wilson who’s basically a little shadow queen pawn Carry’s Maxwell around in his coat. Maxwell likes to make Wilson annoyed and over all be very annoying. As a shadow the codex sits in his chest (ignore me being lazy and not drawing the codex in his chest)
Context for the last one it was based on Rp events, he’s in a hole
Also blows up your feed at 5 am I’m going to bed maybe

He took in the man's words, his ears swiveling atop his head.
"Hold a moment."

"If I were back from whence I came I would have no words for anyone who encountered me. But...I am not there. And I am glad of it. Away from the cyclical suffering.
I want to learn as is my nature now. You want to learn. I have no grand plot to try and return to that place, thus the learning is for learning's sake.
Perhaps we drop all the preamble. We do not need to give one another all the answers. It is not true study otherwise. But I've an aching curiosity and if possible, I would like to fulfill it. You want to know too, don't you?
Great Maxwell, was it? I am the Librarian."
"You dare threaten the Great Maxwell?" He bares his fangs in turn and raises his hands in a grand gesture. It's... not quite as intimidating as it might be if he were forced to capable of appearing monstrous and twisted.
Insolent little worm... if only Maxwell still had his puppets, he would slash this pampered, pompous pup to ribbons!
"Deal's off, Beast. You've made a very grave mistake today. I hope for your sake that you find your blade returned to you before I get mine. Impermanent death won't save you; it means that I will be able to destroy you as many times as I see fit."
#codexvmbra#librarian all like so my manual and i saw u and ur codex across the bar & really dig ur vibe#know that this is done sooooo begrudgingly#but his usual methods of murder and take knowledge is a touch difficult to execute here#and him wanna know now. knowledge snack now#maxwell 01

Something I think a lot of people miss about Maxwell is that like. He is physically disabled. He doesn't look like it, but a lot of stuff points to that being true:
The most obvious being that he's literally described as frail and has equivalent HP to Wes, a character specifically unsuited for survival.
"Maxwell's extended reign on the Nightmare Throne altered him in ways that are not yet fully understood. He continues to rely heavily on his tome, the Codex Umbra, as a result." He's literally using a tool to make up for lack of basic capability.
Almost all of the quotes where he complains about doing work are specifically about work that is very physically taxing, barring some more related to disgust. However, he responds positively to work that isn't as hard on the body:
Cookbook- "Very well. If I can master the dark arts, how hard could cooking be?"
Cartographer's Desk- "Mapmaking is a soothing pastime. Methodical."
It's pretty clear that under the airs he puts on about work meant for servants, it's just that he can't do physical tasks effectively. I'd assume it's a case of chronic pain and a general physical weakness. It may even be in combination with mental symptoms, which he also very obviously has but could have different origins.
It's fun to rag on him for his behavior, but it's important to actually put that into context. He is incapable, he is incompetent, and it's silly that he pretends he's not, but all of that also means that he is disabled and coping with it as best he can.

The Overlapped AU [Aka Superhumans disguisted as Dinner Theater workers]
The Owners
The Managers (Engineer & the HR person)
The Waiters
The Security
The Performers (Wes is mostly on cleaning duty though)
The Kitchen staff (the others are usually tasked to help, though very few are actually trusted at all times to be there)
The Bartender and the Host
The Dishwashers
The Clerk & The Supplier
So this AU came to me upon a dream, and I just had to make it real...
The synopsis below:
The event of April 17th 1906 does happen, however instead of Charlie and Maxwell being kidnapped into the Constant, the Constant overlaps with the real world and spreads itself onto Earth.
Charlie and Maxwell in the process become corrupted and have to hide away temporarily. Both of them soon began to hear strange voices, source of which neither is quite sure, telling them, compelling them to hide the corruption's effect from the publicity, for the time being.
They come to a mutual realization they have to fix this mess somehow and hunt down any and all corrupted by the tome, by any means necessary.
(Maxwell still has codex umbra, but it is sealed shut for the time being until he's sure it won't spread more if Their influence. )
But the corruption didn't just appear out of nowhere, it's been leaking way long before Maxwell found the Codex, if to a less prominent extent.
Thus, in few years passing, they form a Dinner Theater, a rather inconspicuous establishment from the first glance. Very quickly they began "hiring" employees, which in reality means tracking down and blackmailing those who have been corrupted but not fully lost themselves to its effects, in order to hunt those who had.
Winona was against the idea at first, as she found out. But seeing the effects of corruption first hand, she quickly had a change of heart and integrated herself into Charlie's new environment.
Eventually they gathered a rather generous amount of people. Once a person's proven to be trustworthy to a point, they're give higher positions in the company.
However those who aren't, are likely to be shunned or "fired" which...you could probably guess what that means.
Many of these people gradually come to terms with the reality of their situation and accept their newfound purpose, being thankful that at least they still have a roof over their head and a warm meal, instead of being viewed as monsters or outcasts to the greater society.
(Wilson though, can't quite accept this notion. He keeps claiming that "this is just a big misunderstanding, I'm just a normal guy!" Yet the truth could be far from it.)
When Maxwell and Charlie hear of the danger looming, they immediately inform their "staff" of the matter. Those who are more experienced in combat come along to face whatever opponent may cross them, while those who aren't, stay behind, to be an additional aid or a medic in case the battle gets too intense.
Whenever any suspicion arises in the town about the shady business going on in that particular building, the two owners alongside their employees practically gaslight anyone and everyone into believing they're but the most regular entertainment center.
The characters who have either willingly or unwillingly lost their humanity, mostly in the physical sense, are given special devices constructed of Thulecite and bits of nightmare fuel (made by Winona, Wicker and the main two), which effectively hide away their true identity, or surpress the effects of their ailment.
There's also a few other people important to this story, especially the One, which even Charlie and Maxwell refer to as "The Boss", though what many most recent hires don't know, is that there's someone who's in a position much higher than the owners themselves, controlling their every move.
Correlating to that, another person, or rather, a set of people per se, working for a much different cause. Though most of them are "people" in only a visual sense of the word.
And while, there might be someone inside the well-known around town diner, who just might be more than what appears on the surface, literally and metaphorically this time.
__________
If you're interested to learn more about this AU, do let me know. If you have any questions, I'm happy to hear and answer them!

Methamphetamine
Lets talk about Metheus – or who, or what we know as ‘Metheus’. Or as I'd like to call them Methamphetamine. They are the torch-bearer seen in the ancient murals and if you’d like to know more about their past and whatnot this is not the post for you.
Anyhow, one of my favorite theories or observations is that they are the one who wrote the Codex Umbra. My weakest defense? Codex’s signature on its cover is an “M” which goes with the M in Methamphetamine ‘Metheus’. William was just a sneaky bastard who took advantage of that en-carved signature and created his own (Maxwell). Or maybe, he didn't?
My better defense for this would be Wolfgang’s animated short. We know that Wolfgang only managed to save William because of shadow steroids, but if you look at the shadow you'll see a distinct silhouette of a familiar face.
This gif is a slowed down version of the particular time frame (02:10) I'm talking about.
If you compare the still frames to What we have seen of Metheus & Charlie -- who was presumed to be possessed or in some sort of great connection with Metheus (which was later confirmed), you can recognize that same distinct pattern. A sharp, diamond face/mask that is adorned with flames on top. If you take the middle picture of Metheus as a reference, you can see the "flame" in where her cracked skull is.
On the topic of cracked skulls: both Charlie and Metheus were normal before their masks were cracked open. We don't see Charlie with a brain damage, but we do have Metheus' art in the ancient murals and their literal masks in the stage-play. (You can even say the missing piece of the mirror is similar to Metheus' damage.)

The only thing I want to see is Charlie's reaction or realization as to when its revealed that the very thing she hated is the one who 'guided' her and probably trusted more than anyone ever in the constant. She feared darkness as a child and became darkness itself, but she also holds resentment towards Maxwell and more specifically the Codex Umbra.
Whose author is the very same person that brought William and later the both of them (Maxwell & Charlie) to ruin. In its own paradox, she became the person that brought them to the constant. That's going to leave a mark on her already fractured mental health I am certain.
But alas, the constant has a history of Kings who sought power (Lunar, Shadow) that later drove them insane and distant (Crab King, The Ancient King who is possibly the Fuel Weaver, Maxwell) and somewhere along the way it affected their wives. (Hermit Crab, Metheus, Charlie).
Also you as the player are the one who kills the King (Boss fight, Boss fight, Adventure Mode) ...
There is more to this topic, but I'll leave it open for discussion just as the last post.

(Maxwell genuinely does not stop to think much of the kid's own worn-down appearance, face littered in nipped scars and rough-seeming keloids. He's certainly had his own fair share of recent scrapes— the only 'fresh' face is a recently revived one, torn back from the veil kicking and screaming by the natural law of the Constant. His time there has changed his perspective in more ways than he's consciously aware of, staring down into the face of the young stranger.
They just look... Young.)
Team... skull. A completely childish moniker. He supposes that particular aspect checks out— some sort of little... gangster, then?
Maxwell doesn't expect them to actually try and do anything to him.
It seems he'd assumed wrong.
He's rather used to being the tallest man in the room— craning his head back to look something in the eye is an activity typically only reserved for the towering giants of the Constant, which spring so high from the ground that you'd often be watching their arms or legs closer than you'd ever see a face. It's a strange sensation to be certain, and one he's decidedly not fond of.
The shadow slipping from beneath the young teenager is big, but this sort of thing has long since lost its main intimidation factor. Now that it's properly out of their shadow he's not even entirely sure if it belongs to Them. He can't feel the whispers behind the shell of his ear, the choke of something dark and heavy crawling through his throat. It seems somewhat malicious, certainly, but his mind is still well and truly his own.
"I didn't have a 'problem' until you decided I did, if you've forgotten yourself."
"my suit is perfectly fine, thank you kindly." It's warm out, perhaps, but he's worn this suit through much hotter days. He much prefers to take it off only when he knows for certain heatstroke will be breathing down the back of his neck otherwise— a little discomfort is well worth maintaining his own self-worth, if anything. Not that he'd anticipate some child off the street to have any sense of good taste.
Maxwell rests his blackened hands on his lapels, the left just inches away from the Codex Umbra neatly tucked inside.
He doesn't know where he is.
He doesn't know the land, or the people.
He doesn't know where he'll find his next meal, or what stars he's bound to be sleeping under— He doesn't even know the year.
Forgive him for being a little overcautious about a kid with something to prove, if you will. He's fully aware that one bad knock can set himself back enough that death looks to be a reasonable alternative.
With any luck, the locals will simply think the kid insane.
With any luck, they won't even dog him for too long.
[ there’s something different about this one. I like it, I like it! ]
their Gengar and Haunter in their shadows are pleased with whatever he feels about this guy. Even if they can’t understand what he’s saying, his feelings flood through the blond child like a wave of the ocean. Excitement and curiosity and glee. Whoever this guy is, he’s giving off vibes that their ghosts can feel.
Ree keeps their face neutral, watching the weirdo with their good eye. Scars criss-cross their face, raised flesh that is a contract to their gently sunburnt skin.

“You know, most two-bits with half a brain know about what the locals are like when visiting here,” they say, tapping their cane twice. The shadows rise, and soon enough a Gengar easily three times Ree’s size morphs out of it. Ree grins, a little, as their ghost Pokémon cackles gleefully.
they can scare this weirdo. As a treat.
“I’m part of team skull. Ula’ula is our turf, an’ if you have a problem with one of us, you have a problem with all of us. Though,” they give a quick nod to the shoddiness of his outfit, “I don’ think I need much to shred your dignity. You must be sweatin’ in that suit, goddamn.”
#IC;; “𝓝𝓸𝔀 𝓘𝓷𝓽𝓻𝓸𝓭𝓾𝓬𝓲𝓷𝓰… 𝓜𝓪𝔁𝔀𝓮𝓵𝓵 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓖𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓽!“#V1;; [𝓑𝓮𝔂𝓸𝓷𝓭 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓒𝓸𝓷𝓼𝓽𝓪𝓷𝓽]#SKULLKXD;; [𝓡𝓮𝓮 𝓛𝔂𝓷𝓬𝓱]#[Max. max no. wait. hold on buddy]#[to be fair it IS currently his only defense though. what threatening old homeless people does]#[maxwell just has... a really threatenable face. it would probably have looked less like getting a gun pulled on him to max if he actually#knew what a pokemon was. what IS THAT THANG!!!!]#[“lost its main intimidation factor” you are still considering pulling the codex on a teenager. but if you say so.]

Another Don't Starve and Rodamrix crossover thing... :P
Wilson and Indigo face to face...
Short context:
Indigo wants Webber to join the imposter team, though obviously, Webber doesn't want to, and Wilson is on his side too.
Then Maxwell will try to protect them (even if he's an impostor)
Note: Maxwell is a unique impostor, because he got infected by the Codex Umbra's Shadow parasite instead of a relic or a regular parasite.
(*FOR BOTS, GTFO NO DMS AND NO DM REQUESTS PLS*)

Youson week 2025: Day 4 Triumphant
(Challenge by @mxboxlocks)
No fan fic for today, but what you do get is my take on Tri!Wilson as well as Tri!Wixen. Also, just colored sketches instead of clean lineart. Heres also info about them!
(This is sorta based on two roleswap AUs, tri!Wilson takes Maxwell's spot while Wixen takes Charlie's, and tri!Wixen taking Maxwell's spot while Wilson takes Charlie's)
Info about my headcannons and concepts bellow the cut! (Since they are REALLY long)
Triumphant!Wilson
-Generally more of a goofy villian, but when he decides to actually try, he gets VERY intimidating
-Wixen is the jester/assistant to his king/mad scientist
-In adventure mode, Wixen goes behind Wilson's back to basically make up a story of how the Constant could be good if it wasn't ran by a madman, ans how they only joined up with him to save their soul. They support the player throughout so they could get to the throne
-Once they do, they see a similar scene as woth Maxwell, though instead Wilson and Wixen both explain themself, Wixen knowing Wilson would never allow them to take the throne, so they helped the player through the adventure mode
-very quickly after the player gets trapped on the throne, Wixen takes their place, content knowing that no one else will be hurt by them
'Triumphant'!Wixen
-In a LOT more rough state than other triumphan tcharacters, as Maxwell said:"They will show you terrible, beautiful things, it's best not to fight it" but what if fighting back is in your very nature?
-Entire body (except face) has been turned into a black goo, capable of shap, shifting but is rarely consistant
-Laughs instead of crying, They wouldn't allow her to cry
-Can't remove the mask! Masks are actually usually a form of self-expression for Wixen, allowin ghim to show off different parts of himself, but with this They force a more traditional meaning on them
-Wixen carved the body themself from living logs so he could have a more consistant form, moves very creepily like a puppet
-Destroyed her version of the codex umbra (the umbratic manuscripts) when getting into the constant from hurt and rage
-To punish them for this, They pulled a Wickerbottom and forced a memory of every single page and word into her mind
-Can craft pieces of the umbratic manuscripts because of that (this is also how you refuel their masks)
-Unique healing animation akin to Fuelweaver
-Uses both lunar and shadow magic, both parts of Them hate him
-instead of summoning things with her sanity like Maxwell, he summons them with his blood
-Different mask=different summon
-Through the years of torture, has been stripped down to his most basic element (chaos)
-They refuse to let Wixen and Wilson reunite
-While the constant itself is less harsh under Wixen's reign, their challenges are much harder tha Maxwell's
-Final chapter of their adventure mode is called 'fools gambit'
-Regains sanity and original personality when interacting with things reminiscent of their old life
-When confronted on the throne, begs the player not to free them, so they too wouldn't have their freedom stripped away too

I wonder if Maxwell ever had true freedom……?
As William Carter, he was bound and driven forward by his persistence in his dreams.
After obtaining the Codex Umbra, he was under their sight and was subjected to threats and inducements.
The time he was on the throne was the least free for him, as he could not even enjoy personal freedom.
After leaving the throne, perhaps he was free? But he was still punished by his own guilty feeling, because of Charlie's hatred for him and the sins he had committed on survivors.
Was Maxwell ever really free, at least?

i dont care what anyone thinks, an scp!au for dst would be sick, and i want maxwell to be an scp. contained in a room where nothing casts a shadow so he cant escape, the décor antiquated and to his liking. sometimes, hes cooperative and offers his knowledge; sometimes he glares against the darkness, eyes a predatory green and creased by an unseen smile that eluded his unpredictable mien. all personnel are not allowed to enter the room, and unauthorized personnel are not allowed to speak or even look at him, as he has an inhuman power of suggestion.
the codex umbra has been taken from his possession and kept in a separate facility, yet he claims he can still feel its power and is capable of using some of its magic (hence the need for no shadows in his room).
charlie is also kept in the same facility, and is the only thing they can use as leverage against maxwell.
oh, and wilson is a scientist at the facility maxwell and charlie are kept at.
#.txt#i love creepy maxwell stuff a lot#oh and i would make this maxwil somehow lol i love them together what can i say
