Is Israel a Settler Colonialist State?
The claim is made so often that it's hard to fault people for believing it without much thought.
Let's first look at what Settler Colonialism is, then look at the facts to see if Israel fits the definition.
What Is Settler Colonialism again…?
It’s a specific term used by historians and theorists (Patrick Wolfe and his whole "logic of elimination" thing). Features of Settler Colonialism include:
Expansionism, claiming land for its mother country/empire (monopole) and shipping natural resources back to the empire.
Foreign settlers move in to violently displace, erase, or replace the indigenous population.
Any other cultures in the land are suppressed or wiped out
Classic examples include: British Australia, French Algeria, Canada, and North America
Let’s see if the case of Israel demonstrates these features.
A Franchisee?
Settler colonialism is usually a franchise model. Some imperial HQ says, “Go forth and colonize!” and ships people over with guns, flags, and an expectation to reap wealth torn from the colonized.
The Zionist movement started as a grassroots effort by Jews who were tired of getting pogromed every other Tuesday. Sure, they got a nod from Britain in the form of the Balfour Declaration, but that’s a long way from imperial orchestration.
(While Britain controlled Palestine under the Mandate, it hardly coddled Zionist aims - especially after the 1939 White Paper, which locked Jews out even as the Holocaust raged. Zionists didn’t march under imperial flags; they were often clashing with them.)
Settler colonialism involves one imperial power shuttling in settlers from a single source. But Jewish immigration to Israel? It came from everywhere: Yemen, Iraq, Morocco, Poland, Russia, Ethiopia, Argentina, Brooklyn…everywhere in the Diaspora.
This wasn’t a colonial outpost of one empire. It was a chaotic, desperate, and diverse ingathering of people trying to survive and rebuild. Half the Jews in Israel today descend from communities that were literally kicked out of Middle Eastern and North African countries.
If it’s settler colonialism, it’s doing it very wrong.
Foreign Settlers?
Settler colonialism usually involves people showing up in a place they have zero connection to and declaring it theirs. Think: Europeans showing up in Australia and telling the Aboriginal peoples, “Nice continent—don’t mind if we do.”
Jews didn’t just randomly pick Israel from a drop-down menu. They’ve had a connection to that land for, oh, 3,000 years or so. Jerusalem isn’t just spiritually significant; it's central. They didn’t have to invent a historical claim—it’s literally baked into their religion, language, and identity. (Quick Hebrew lesson: “Zion” is kind of a giveaway.)
Jews have maintained a continuous presence in the Land of Israel for over 3,000 years, including communities in Jerusalem, Safed, Hebron, and Tiberias, long before modern Zionism emerged.
Calling Jewish return to Israel “settler colonialism” is like calling your grandma a squatter for moving back into her childhood home.
But What About Palestinian Displacement?
Let’s be clear: Yes, during the 1948 war, a large number of Arabs living in Palestine were displaced. That’s a fact, it's not disputable, and it’s not something to brush aside.
This wasn’t, however, some settler-colonial master plan with color-coded maps and a mission to erase or ethnically cleanse non-Jewish peoples.
The early Zionist movement was buying land legally (much of it from absentee Arab landlords) and building farms, schools, and towns. It was a messy nationalist project, like many others in the 20th century. The displacement of Palestinians came not from a blueprint for ethnic cleansing, but from a war.
The war was launched by neighboring Arab states who made no secret of their goal: to destroy the brand-new Jewish state before it could take its first real breath.
Five Arab armies invaded in 1948, and local Arab leaders, along with the invading forces, told many Palestinian Arabs to temporarily evacuate, assuring them they could return after the Jews were wiped out.
Things didn't go according to their plans, because Israel survived.
Historians like Efraim Karsh and Benny Morris document cases where Arab leaders advised evacuation and cases where displacement occurred amid battle. War is brutal, and real people paid the price.
The tragedy is real, but so is the context. The war wasn’t started by Israel. It was a war of survival that Israel fought while vastly outnumbered, outgunned, and surrounded.
And here’s a twist that is usually ignored in modern retellings:
The term Nakba - which today refers almost exclusively to Palestinian displacement, originally meant something else.
In 1948, Arab intellectuals like Constantin Zureiq used “Nakba,” meaning "catastrophe," not to mourn Palestinian suffering, but to describe the colossal failure of the Arab world to crush Israel. In his own words: “The defeat of the Arabs in Palestine is not a small downfall. It is a catastrophe in every sense of the word.”

The shame wasn’t just about lost land—it was about how a supposedly mighty Arab and Islamic world failed to destroy a state of Holocaust survivors and refugees.
The original "Nakba" was about that failure, not the displacement narrative that would emerge decades later.
History is a lot more complicated than hashtags suggest.
But Israel Sought to Wipe Out Local Culture, right?
If Zionism had been a settler colonial project, you'd expect to see that. Settler colonial regimes tend to come in hot with cultural carpet bombing: banning languages, crushing customs, bulldozing identities.
Israel? Not so much. Israel has official protections for Christian, Muslim, Druze, and Baháʼí religious sites. Ever heard of the “status quo” agreements? They govern holy sites like the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Unlike classic settler-colonial cases like the US, Canada, or Australia where indigenous languages, religions, and identities were suppressed, Israel recognizes Arabic as an official language, protects Muslim and Christian holy sites, and integrates minorities into public life with equal legal rights for all citizens.
Is the situation always perfect? No. Does Israel have a Ministry of Culture Death? Also no.
But Israel stripped the land of its natural resources in the name of their imperial project and destroyed the ecology of the land!
First, there was no empire, no monopole to ship anything to because (again) Israel was not the outpost of a foreign empire - it was a desperate refuge for Jews fleeing pogroms, fascism, and a genocide which had wiped out a third of their people.
Second, what natural resources could they have stripped the land of? Mandate Palestine was not known for its abundant natural treasures. Oil? Nope. Gold? Nada. Fertile, easily farmed land? Not much.
What Zionists did find was malaria, swamps, desert, and the occasional Ottoman tax ledger. The region was, in the words of Samuel Clemens (AKA Mark Twain), "a desolate country whose soil is rich enough, but is given over wholly to weeds."
Not exactly a paradise ripe for exploitation.
Here's a twist: rather than destroying the ecology, Israel has spent 75 years rebuilding it. The country has planted over 240 million trees, turning arid hills green and reversing desertification. Israel pioneered drip irrigation - watering crops with scientific precision to conserve every drop. It recycles nearly 90% of its wastewater (second place is Spain at about 30%). The Negev Desert is now home to solar farms, sustainable agriculture, and research centers where scientists grow cherry tomatoes in saltwater and build fish farms in sand.
Israel’s environmental stewardship of the land is so advanced that experts have come from Africa, South America, and India to partner with Israeli experts to tackle their own climate challenges. If this is what settler-colonial ecological destruction looks like, the planet could use a bit more of it.
So no, Israel isn’t extracting the lands bounty and mailing it to a mythical European mothership. It’s been reclaiming wasteland, reforesting hills, and creating the most efficient water system in the world. And it did all that while fighting seven wars and inventing the USB stick. Not bad for a country the size of New Jersey.
It's a Colonial Struggle!!
It’s a nationalist conflict, not a colonial one. Two peoples - Jewish and Palestinian - with deep historic ties to the same land, both claiming national self-determination. That’s tragic, painful, and hard to resolve. But it’s not the same as a bunch of white Europeans setting up a Starbucks on someone else’s sacred mountain.
Trying to squeeze this conflict into the settler colonial box doesn’t make it clearer—it flattens it. It erases Jewish history and Palestinian suffering in one fell swoop.
History Deserves Better Than Hashtags
Calling Israel a "settler colonial state" might feel like a tidy moral label, but history is messier than slogans. The story is way more complex than “colonizer vs. colonized.” It’s about trauma, return, identity, nationalism, war, and a shitload of of mistakes along the way by all parties involved.
But if you want to understand it, really understand it, you’ve got to ditch the buzzwords and look at the footnotes, because the truth won’t always fit in a meme.

I could always chalk it up to this being a horribly fallen world, but once I cross that line, there's no coming back. And even if it's considered self defense and thus not punishable by law, I don't give a f*ck about that. There is an unavoidable judge on the other side, and that is the only one I fear. Knowing that, I probably wouldn't end up doing the same wrong I'm trying to prevent.
The world is getting more messed up and people are becoming crazier because... people are led to believe that whatever they think is right is right. Which is not how right/wrong works. What's right is right even if no one wants it to be, and what's wrong is wrong even if everyone wants it to be right. You'd be surprised how much this applies to.
Comically, there's this children's book my mom got for me before we moved to Canada. It's a collection of children's short stories to teach the basics of logical thinking to kids. So a collection of short stories that have lessons in them followed by a deeper explanation of the concept. And every now and then, I just wonder if no one else in the world read these or learned these before, because if so, what the f*ck. Such as... "Part 2: Judgments that are easy to mistake as the truth. 1 Judgments that sound professional. 2 Judgments supported by many. 3 Judgments with personal interests at stake. 4 Judgments depending on mood. 5 Judgments from sympathy. 6 Judgments that induce fear." I don't have to explain how much these apply.
A person might be smart and reasonable, but people are stupid selfish sh*tbags that can not be reasoned with at all, so... the world is f*cked and everything is in a downward spiral. Things are only going to get worse. Because guess what democracy means? It means that these morons get to decide what happens. To put it simply, it's majority vote, and the large majority of people are stupid and selfish. My family's been running a grocery store for almost 10 years now. Believe me. We know what the average person is like. And it's abysmal.
There's a whole ton more I could say, but meh, whatever. It's just pointless ranting.
Now, in a video game, which is in a fictional universe, I have no qualms about doing whatever I want, because there is no ultimate morality in a fictional world. So if whatever game has the option for the player to use "dark" powers, I say, why not. Give me. Too bad not all games have those options for... obvious reasons.
I think I mentioned this before, once upon a time. But I really wish there was one Pokemon game where you are the bad guy, and your quest is for world domination. You challenge the Gyms so that you can basically dominate that city and take its income, the "evil team" of the day is actually a band of heroes trying to stop you from enslaving that region, the Elite Four and champion are the final resistance the region offers, and your "rival" is your childhood friend who's desperately trying to stop you from going down the wrong path. Once you beat a Gym Leader, you assign your own to protect your income and expand your influence! It's a... yakuza boss simulator, now that I think about it.
Obviously such a thing will never actually officially exist, but maybe a mod or something. Nowadays, you can make a mod of pretty much anything, if you know how. A lot of code-wrangling, for sure, but doable.
But for now... huh. Maybe I can make an Excerpt storyline out of such an idea. "Like a Dex Holder". Hehehe. ... Though that might just be Giovanni's backstory.

Week 7 Short Essay Part 2 – Sex, Lies and Videotape similarities to Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai
By Christian Lavarello
The films, Sex, Lies and Videotape by Director Steven Soderbergh and Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai by director Jim Jarmusch have more differences than similarities, yet some noteworthy similarities to mention.
youtube
Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai was released by director Jim Jarmusch which tells the story of an urban samurai, a man who was saved when he was younger by Louie, a mafioso. Sometime later, Ghost Dog reappears before the mafioso and, in accordance with his samurai ethical code, admits he is in debt with Louie. Louie turns Ghost Dog into his own efficient, uncatchable hitman and nobody knows his "real" name and they communicate via carrier pigeon-delivered messages.
youtube
Sex, Lies and Videotape follows the intertwined lives of four individuals living in Baton Rouge, Louisiana: John, Ann, Cynthia, and Graham Dalton. John is an attorney who is having an affair with his wife Ann’s sister. Ann claims to not want sex anymore, being excessively concerned about world issues. Graham is ‘brutally honesty,’ especially about the fact that he is impotent and the only way he can have some physical satisfaction is by videotaping women talking about sex and their sexual encounters. With his arrival, everyone’s deceptions and hypocrisies come to the surface and so does Ann’s desire to have to sex again.

Sex, Lies and Videotape received a few awards and mostly positive critical reviews, Robert Ebert stated, “I am not sure it is as good as the Cannes jury apparently found it; it has more intelligence than heart and is more clever than enlightening. But it is never boring, and there are moments when it reminds us of how sexy the movies used to be, back in the days when speech was an erogenous zone”. Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai received a mixture of review, but mostly positive one from The Howlander, states, “On the surface, the film is monotonous and the characters unfeeling, but a strand of profundity runs throughout the film, and that’s where its subtle intelligence lies”.

As stated previously, films received a lot of positive reviews and they focused on the strengths and messages from each category, yet they both have a deep artistic meaning to them. For instance, throughout Ghost Dog: They Way of the Samurai, director Jim Jarmusch structured his film is from a Samurai Hagakure passage in which Ghost Dog narrates himself and each Hagakure passage demonstrates a new lesson on being a proper samurai. These passages make the audience see a deeper side of the main character and connect with them by understanding their actions in more depth. Sex, Lies and Videotape does an amazing job of keeping the audience guessing and trying to figure out the characters’ actions and behaviors. Director Steven Soderbergh delves into themes of intimacy beyond sex and the unspoken connections between characters which also connects the audience to the characters themselves. The audience gets to see a vulnerable side of the characters and beneath their perfect exteriors.

Both directors did a great job of creating connections to their audiences in very different ways and they did this while sticking to a tight budget. Sex, Lies, and Videotape (1989) grossed about $36.74 million worldwide, including $24,741,667 in the United States and Canada. The film's opening weekend in four theaters on August 4, 1989, brought in $155,982, with an average of 30 people per showing. It eventually played in 534 theaters. The film's estimated budget was $1,200,000. While Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai grossed a worldwide total of $9,380,473, of which $3,308,029 was in the United States. The film’s estimated budget was around $2,000,000.

On a lighter note, with respect to historical events throughout the time of both films, in 1989 when Sex, Lies and Videotape was released so was the very first episode of The Simpsons which aired in December 1989 and who didn’t love The Simpsons. Also, in 1999 when Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai was released The Titanic movie became the first film to gross a billion US dollars. It made the Guinness World Records. In conclusion both films were very different from one another, Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai was categorized as crime/thriller while Sex, Lies and Videotape was categorized as drama/indie film, yet both were produced with smaller budgets while still being profitable and had their own artistic and deeper connections to the characters by the way in which the stories are told. Both were unique, great films to watch regardless of their genre.

Villain AU - Deadlock, Part 4
Part 1 || Part 2 || Part 3 ||
Short chapter 💁♀️ still trying not to linger for too long on them. It just feels nice to have something to work mindlessly over on the side~
It was at the top of an old and abandonned music store, surrounded by office buildings that were now long emptied at those late hours of the night. In New York's fast changing scene, Vee often wondered how it was possible for this fossil to still be standing, untouched by economy and time - yet she was glad she had that little safe spot she could always come back to.
Coffees in hands, she reached the flat rooftop with a quick relieved sigh, taking a moment to appreciate the view of the neighborhood. There was this faint breeze still running around, the last remnant of the cold days past behind. She was glad to have put on her trenchcoat for tonight - a wiser choice than a cocktail dress.
"Quite the odd place to choose," sounded a voice behind her. "I would've taken you for a more industrial type."
Vee turned around, noticing the turtle coming her way.
"... Do you always do that?" she asked, half amused.
"Do what?"
The mutant was now beside her, frowning slightly.
"Come out of nowhere and start talking? Last time we met, you did the same thing."
Donnie shrugged: "It is what it is. Call it my dramatic flair."
"Sure thing, Dorkatello."
She next offered him a cup, not letting him the chance to complain about the nickname.
"I didn't know what you liked, so I grabbed you a black coffee."
He accepted the beverage with an indifferent expression and a small "thanks". Taking a first sip, the terrapin then seemed quite appreciative.
"Not bad! The roast has a nice taste to it. Where is it from?"
"From where I work, I prepared it myself," winked Vee.
"Barista by day and a broker by night," mused Donnie in a slight teasing way. "Quite the life you're living."
"Only 'cause I need the safety net," pointed the woman. "... To be frank, if I could avoid hearing about soy lattes with triple expresso shots, whipped cream and caramel on top almost every day, I'd be a happier person. ... Whatever happened to good ol' black coffees?"
"We truly live in a dystopian world," he joked before taking another sip.
They drank in comfortable silence, facing the city and basking in the view once more. After a short while, Vee got a USB key out of a pocket, handing it towards the terrapin.
"One investors' list, hot and fresh straight out of the oven."
"There better not be a virus on this," said Donatello, taking the small device and looking at it closely.
"Or what? ... I told you, I'll be a good girl," grinned the human.
The other sighed with a faint smile, putting the key in a small pouch attached to his belt: "... Gosh you're so weird."
"Says the turtle man."
"Touché."
His gaze remained on her, studying her form as he took another sip.
"... I gotta ask though, what made you accept my offer?" he asked.
"I figured you probably wanted some lessons about information broking. That and I was just curious about this whole affair."
Unimpressed, Donnie tapped to a device at his right wrist, then bringing up a holo screen over his forearm. With some quick swipes he then brought up a file that contained Vee's picture and some information written alongside it. He began to read:
"Véronique Lavoie, thirty-one years old, moved to New York City five years ago from Montréal, Canada. First language is French. Completed studies in the music and artistic fields, yet you did an one-eighty to pursue a 'career' in coding and information brokering. I suspect you were getting into hot waters where you're from, so you decided to start fresh in a new city, new country. Shall I continue?"
Vee pushed his wrist down with a tsk, flicking the screen off.
"Alright, alright, I get it. Remove that 'lesson' part from my previous statement." She pointed at him, wanting to get her point across: "You better keep all that info for yourself, or I'm breaking this deal off."
"I wouldn't want to risk this makeshift alliance, at least for now," reassured Donatello, although standing tall. "As long as you play by the rules, I won't rat you out to the police."
"How thoughtful, very happy to hear it" fakely smiled the woman.
"I only aim to please," quickly winked the terrapin, then taking another slow sip as he looked back over the city.
That brought a quiet chuck out of Vee, returning to a watch of the landscape as well. Who's playing on words now! Taking her last sips, she took this quiet moment to glance over the turtle from the corner of her eyes. She never really took the opportunity to fully appreciate all the technical gear he was adorning, some assuredly being custom built. He seemed quite capable when it came to technology, so Vee was truly starting to wonder if he ever needed her help for whatever the turtles were planning to do. She kept that question for another time, rather taking the moment to instead look over at his form. To be quite frank, he wasn't that bad looking! Years of training must have helped shaping this slim chiseled body of his, his arms slender yet displaying enough muscle mass to indicate a formidable strength still....
"So," she started, breaking the quiet pause. "What's the next target?"
"That remains to be seen. I have first to look through the list you just handed me and have a quick talk with one of our sources." He finished his coffee. "... But for now, our first step should be to get up to speed about eachother's knowledge. What do you know about the crime scene in New York?"
"I hear things here and there," shortly sighed Vee. "The Foot clan is the top dog, the Purple Dragons are starting to rise, and then you've got the usual gangs trying to get on top of one another in some pitiful tug-of-war games. I see rich people feasting on poor people's backs, CEOs hunting for valuable informations, stock market maniacs wanting the latest trends. Everybody does what they have to do in order to survive in this fucked up world - and here I am, a simple bridge between their initial goal and the final result."
"I'm guessing you get paid a pretty sum for all of your work, based on how much you charged me, anyway."
"Living in New York, especially Manhattan, is expensive as shit," pointed the human. "I have no choice but to ask for a lot if I want to keep living here." She took a moment to glance back over the streets with a slight dreamy sight. "I couldn't have asked for a better hideout. ... Even though I prefer to be on my own, the constant buzzing of a city keeps me alive and I know I'm not completely alone."
She realized her confession, noticing that the terrapin was looking over her with a soft smile.
"Anyway," she rectified, straightening her posture. "Any info you'd want me to know or gather, I have my ways of getting it. If I don't know something, that'll only push me to get to know more about it."
"At least we're similar on that point!"
"In the end," continued Vee. "All you have to keep in mind is that anything you may throw at me, I can take it. ... I mean, heck, you probably guessed it by now that anything out of the ordinary doesn't really phase me; I'm not even scared of you."
His slight amusement did not escape Vee.
"It does make for a nice change," he admitted. "Usually people either scream or call us monsters. So with you being unbothered, it's a breath of fresh air."
"You're still strange though, but I'll let that slip for now."
She did have this slight fear in her - that she would never admit. Since her arrival in the city, she had heard stories of mutant vigilantes that could break you in half if they wanted to. But when speaking with Donatello, she realized most of those talks must've been exaggerated, although she never dismissed the idea of him and his brothers being forces to reckon with. And that idea stuck with her as she witnessed the terrapin crush his coffee cup effortlessly, then aiming and throwing the remains into an open trashcan down in the street - a quiet "score" escaping his lips as he succeeded his throw.
"Thanks for the coffee," Donatello said next. "I'll get started right away on combing through the list you just gave me. ... Thank you, by the way. You did the right thing."
Vee disregarded the comment with a quick puff of air.
"Please. Consider yourself lucky that I didn't ask for money in exchange. Just keep me in the loop once you have something."
"Will do! Through the web or you have another prefered way of contact?"
"I am not giving you my phone number yet, turtle. Too risky for now."
"As you wish, then," he replied with a small comical bow. "I shall write to you soon, smooth criminal."
And with that he was out and about, Vee rapidly losing sight of him as he plunged into the shadows. So far, so good, she told herself. She had a feeling that getting him on her good side wouldn't be too much of a hassle - she would simply need to lean on the heroic and right-doer side whenever possible and in his presence. What a chore. She looked at her empty cup, then over at the trashcan below where Donnie had shot his trash at. Considering for some seconds, Vee then tried to throw her own into it, but it ultimately failed and bounced miserably on the concrete ground.
"Whatever," she mumbled with a frown, shoving her hands into her coat's pockets and making her way down the roof.
***
Casey and April came down as soon as they heard that Donnie finally got the data - even though that annoyed the bespectacled terrapin, as he wanted to skim through the information unbothered at first.
Inserting Vee's key into his computer, the file was loaded in no time, many names and numbers populating the screen. Some noticeable names belonging to the Purple Dragons were found in there - Hun, their leader, being a predominant entry. But another presence did raise questions, this one only labeled as "Bishop".
"Never heard that name before," started Casey, his eyes on the list. "I don't think I've ever come across someone, or an organization, that had such a title."
"We need to find what they're up and about," added Leonardo. "They seem to be quite invested in the Foot, considering the contributions."
"Agreed..."
Donnie was already starting to wonder if Vee had heard that name before...
"I can get my eyes on Hun for the moment," continued the cop. "But we'll need to dig for the rest."
"Leave that to me," said Donatello. "I'll try to poke Vee and see what sort of intel she could have on that entity as well."
Casey squinted: "I'm sorry, who?"
"Donnie's new girlfriend," joked Raph.
Donnie was fast to reply: "Absolutely not!" He then felt slightly uneasy as he added: "... She's the one who stole the data in the place, that smooth criminal we told you about. I was able to get in contact with her and she agreed to lend her skills for our cause."
"We are not bringing a crook into this operation," disapproved the man. "I don't care about her skills. We can't trust her with any info. She could very well just grab it and run to sell it to anyone. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if she's already selling information about you guys!"
"She is not," cut the purple clad one. "I'm monitoring her online activity on the main platform she uses for her trade. She's trustworthy on that part."
"Who says she's only selling her stuff online?"
That actually shut Donatello down, the terrapin frowning at such a thought. She did go to a social event a couple days ago...
"Donnie, if you need someone to look around above ground, you know you can count on me," added April calmly.
"I know," replied the mutant with a soft sigh, turning his attention back to the data. "Let me just see what I can find first, then I'll contact you, if anything."
He didn't even care for the rest of the conversation. His thoughts were running million miles a second, trying to figure if he'd omitted anything before considering Vee's help. Would he need to go against her request of not logging into her system once more? Should he start considering tracking her every moves and conversations? It felt like too much. She was not a stranger to the scene and she could probably prove to be a good asset to the team. ... But right now, many variables were obstructing an absolute trust, and he wished there was something he could do to show her good wil... As hidden as it probably was.
Donnie didn't realize when Casey and April left, too preoccupied by his current searches. He did notice however Leonardo approaching his workstation, setting a stool and sitting down next to him.
"Donnie...," the leader started.
He kept on typing.
"... I do agree with Casey," finished the blue banded one. "We can't risk bringing an external source into this. ... We don't know her."
That brought the tall one to a stop with a sharp sigh. He finally looked over to his older brother with an annoyed nonchalance.
"I understand and I do agree to some extent," replied Donnie. "I could probably fish out the information all by myself - I've been doing that for many years. But now I'm tired, Leo."
He vaguely gestured the Lair.
"Keep in mind, I'm the one who mostly caters to and repairs every electronic needs in this goddamned house. If we're to take the Foot down and you're all expecting me to keep up the same level of effectiveness around here, I can't guarantee my accuracy in the long run."
"Let us help you then! We're a team, we're here for you."
"Hah, and have you all break everything? No thanks."
"Donnie-"
"Look, I want to give her a chance," cut the purple clad one. "It may be a bit presumptuous of me, but I feel that with some guidance, she can get on the right path." He didn't dare cross his brother's gaze. "... All we do is stop criminals, but how about saving them instead? Let me have this, Leo. Let me try.... I see something in her."
"We're ninjas, not knights in shiny armors."
"Don't forget, we were labeled heroes to this city."
He pointed the key to the city he had kept on the side, hanging on its chain, close to one of his screens. That brought a long exhale from Leo, the leader lost in thoughts for a moment as he kept his eyes on the item. Oh it was so easy to call on his honor...
"Let me think about it," finally said Leonardo. "But for now, keep her out of it. Let's see what we find first."
He got up from his stool, lightly tapping Donnie's shoulder.
"And let us help you. Say the word and I'll whoop Mikey and Raph's asses to get moving."
"Noted," replied Donatello with an amused smirk.
He watched his older brother walk away, waiting a bit to make sure he was not in sight. Returning to his device, Donnie's fingers fidgeted lightly over his keyboard, unsure about his next move. ... He didn't want to break an order, but he needed to know.

Deniz Melissa Benetton

Rocco Benetton is the son of Luciano Benetton, one of the four founders of the Italian fashion brand Benetton. He met Bahar Boyner, the sister of Boyner Holding's founder, their distributors in Türkiye, in 1995. They got married in 1998, and in 1999, their daughter Deniz Melissa Benetton was born.
Deniz spent half of her childhood in Italy and the other half in Türkiye. The excitement of Formula races in Italy and his father's F1 background drew her into the sport, and at a young age, she developed an interest in it. Deniz participated in regional karting races and achieved unexpected success. In 2015, she joined the Ferrari Academy, where she won 1 Formula3 and 1 Formula2 championships. In 2018, she took his first step into Formula 1 by becoming a test pilot for Ferrari. In 2019, she filled Kimi Räikkönen's vacant seat and finished her first season in Formula 1 in 10th place. In the 2020 season, she had a victory in Canada and finished the season as 8th. In 2021, she moved to McLaren and ended the season in 5th place with 2 victories. In the 2022 season, she finished 6th. At 2023 season, she moved to Mercedes, she is currently racing for this ream.
Deniz considers Türkiye as her second home. She is native at Turkish and Italian, fluent in French, and English, and she speaks German and Spanish midly . Also she tries to learn Russian and Japanese.
Thanks to her achievements in the lower category series and her family's business, she didn't face many difficulties in finding sponsorships. As the only female driver on the grid, she receives both strong support and negative reactions from different groups. She responds to the sexist questions with a sharp tongue, and during these moments, her friends like Vettel and Hamilton also defend her, and she appreciates these moments.
Being the only female driver on the grid, Deniz is featured in more programs on SkySports and the F1 YouTube channel compared to others. She is close friends with Lando Norris, and she tries to get along with everyone on the grid, admiring Vettel and Räikkönen. She feels happiest and pushes herself the most during races in Italy and Türkiye. When she won in Türkiye in 2021, she couldn't hold back tears of joy.
Deniz is known for being sarcastic. When she first appeared in front of the cameras, she was perceived as insincere and faced criticism, but over time, she got used to being in front of the cameras and felt more comfortable as she established a genuine connection with the people around her, leading to more positive feedback. Of course, there are still some misogynistic detractors, but there is also an army of supporters fighting for her on the internet.
Above all, she is a nerd, geek, and fangirl. She knows even the smallest details about various subjects, from superheroes to Eurovision history, from old Hollywood sci-fi movies to astronomy. Sailor knots, morse code, origami, sign language... She doesn't stop until learn everything about a subject she interested to. If she doesn't wear F1 merchandise, she's probably wearing Star Wars or Marvel merchandise because her wardrobe consists mainly of that. After learning to read and write, she researched F1 history and documented every significant event in an old notebook. She has an extensive F1 almanac that starts from the first race in 1950 and covers scandals like Spygate and Crashgate, as well as details like Nelson Piquet's race rankings in different races and the rules that applied in different years. She was also successful at school lessons until she fully concerned to F1. She thinks about studying astrophysics after her retirement from F1. Also she writes various fanfictions on Tumblr and AO3, but her account is unknown.
Her favorite sport after F1 is swimming. While she's swimming, she doesn't think about anything else. There's nothing better for her to clear her mind and relax before and after races.
She actually loves Turkish cuisine more than Italian cuisine. She spent all her summer holidays in Turkey during her childhood and holds a deep affection for the country. She shares celebration messages for national and Islamic holidays on social media.
Sometimes, she sees videos that edited in a romantic way about her and other pilots. And although she was embarrassed by them at first, she no longer cares. She maintains a professional attitude towards her work. (No one knows that she constantly listens to War of Hearts by Ruelle and thinks about Mick Schumacher.) Her closest friends on the grid are Lando, Carlos, Charles, and Mick. She spends most of her time with them during events and F1 media department chooses her with mostly these 4 to make content.
She is a huge fan of literally every driver that she watched at her childhood; Vettel, Raikönnen, Schumacher, Button, Webber, Rosberg, Alonso... She thinks that she is the luckiest person because she was reserved pilot at Ferrari while Vettel and Raikönnen racing. She had biggest crush on Sebastian and Jenson when she was a child. In 2019, while playing an ask game, Seb asked her who was her childhood crush is. She immediately blushed and started laughing while throwing hinting looks at Seb, after he understand, he started laughing too and said that it was cute. She covered her face with her hands and stand up by saying that she needs to find someone to hit her with a car. And everyone knows about her crush on Jenson because she revealed this in her very first interview made by Jenson Button's himself.
Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc are like brothers to Deniz. She loves spending time with them. Charles is always so kind to her, and a photo of her sleeping on Carlos' shoulder after FIA's prize night is wandering around the internet.
Mick Schumacher and Deniz know each other since they were babies. She found a photo of them with pacifiers in their mouths, for Netflix show producers from their infancy. She posted the photo on Instagram and got a response from Mick, another babyhood photo. They didn't grow up together, just 2 people who knew each other but lived far away. After the accident of Michael Schumacher, they made a phone call, did not speak, just cried loudly. They met at some karting races and had a little chat while their mothers taking photos. Years passed without intimate acquaintance until they met again at the F1 paddock. Mick's kindness and endless radiance of sunlight drew her in immediately as it evoked some warm childhood memories. She tries very hard to keep things professional. But some fans on the internet are catching how she acts different and timid around him. How she blushes and laughs awkward-long after she making him laugh. No, she should keep things professional.
She started a campaign to get women's attention to motorsports with Susie Wolff. Also, she attends to some activities for protecting environment. She posts some campaigns and news about global warming at social media. After his retirement, she started supporting Sebastian Vettel's bee campaign. She also fights for homophobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism, sexual discrimination, racism, animal rights... She just tries to make the world a better place.

Scoring high isn’t about working harder; it’s about working smarter. Here are expert strategies from Prepworld Academy to crack both IELTS Reading and PTE with confidence:
For IELTS Reading:
Skim and Scan: Read quickly to get the gist, then scan for answers with laser precision.
Focus on Keywords: Learn to identify keywords in questions and match them in the passage.
Watch the Clock: Aim to complete each passage in 20 minutes, leaving 2–3 minutes to review.
For PTE:
Master Templates: For tasks like ‘Summarize Written Text’ and ‘Essay,’ having ready-made templates saves time and reduces errors.
Speak Naturally: In the speaking module, clarity, intonation, and fluency matter more than accent.
Practice With Mock Tests: Use AI-powered mock tests to replicate real exam conditions and get accurate scores.

Ohhh bhaiiiii 😳 and that too for RANDOM blood test?! 🙇♀️ it's too much for me as well. Bhaiya mujhe kuch paise daan kr dete to bhala ho jata 😓
Yes I'm a Pisces sun.
I'm gonna give NEET and other entrance exams for research universities. So far I've filled in like 3 forms so wish me luck🤞I don't really have any expectations from myself for this year but I wanted to give it a try.
Honestly, I'm only happy about getting older because I'll get to have more freedom and independence. I'll get to make my own life decisions. It won't be easy and I'll make mistakes but I'd rather make wrong decisions myself than others doing it for me ykwim?
LMAOOO
he just wanted to make sure all his bloodwork was normal (he has no health issues or anything, he's just one of those rich guys who run expensive blood tests every couple of months)
(i say "rich" bc in India, a lot of people dont have health insurance and aren't very medically literate and dont casually run tests just to make sure everything is okay bc govt hospitals are overcrowded and it costs $$$ to go to a private one)
but the fact that he came with me for my blood test and was like "since im here, might as well just get everything tested"...is soo... money coded , like even the people working there were like 😳😳you want 10,560 rupees worth of blood tests???? BRUH??
good luck for all ur exams princess!!! pls think of other options as well!!
Honestly, I'm only happy about getting older because I'll get to have more freedom and independence. I'll get to make my own life decisions. It won't be easy and I'll make mistakes but I'd rather make wrong decisions myself than others doing it for me ykwim?
honestly me and all my indian friends feel the same way. bc growing older means we have more autonomy and live our own life. its only people who live in hyper-individualistic societies that are scared of growing older bc they already have all the things that the rest of us have to fight for and once there's nothing left to achieve, u feel empty and lack focus
my current partner is kind of similar, he emigrated to Canada at a young age and made crazy money working there also at a young age and by the time he was 25-26, he felt like he had already achieved everything anybody would want. like there's nothing left to live for when u have every kind of freedom and all the money u could ever want.
but for me, its a long journey and im so glad for my pain and my lessons for giving me such a strong sense of purpose and direction bc it can really fck u up otherwise.
but i am proud of you for understanding what a gift it is to grow older, especially as an indian woman

BLOG 1: WHO AM I
Introduction:
I study IT as an undergraduate student in my 3rd semester at the present time. A journey leading me to Canada delivered me into a vast collection of diverse and dynamic settings throughout this country. My dedicated pursuit of knowledge led me to this path with high determination because I wanted to shape my brighter future. The blog reveals my journey through the experience of living in this unique new phase of existence.
The Leap of Faith
Making my homeland departure was challenging because I was afraid of the unknown but I chose to leave because I wanted to experience new places and develop my information technology abilities. The reputation of educational quality combined with multicultural living in Canada made it an ideal choice for me to follow my professional goals. The path was lengthy in terms of time and symbolism and I spent many hours preparing paperwork before giving multiple farewells. All the progress I made during this stage brought me progressively nearer to achieving my goals.
Canadian life as an IT Student
My experience studying IT in Canada opened my eyes to various new things. Canadian education empowers students to learn practically because instructors emphasize innovative skills which expand learning outside theoretic texts. The new everyday tasks require students to learn programming languages while working with global peer groups and adopting Canadian speed. Variations among ideas have stretched my intellectual perceptions while improving my problem resolution methods.
Through balancing my academic work with part-time employment and day-to-day obligations I gained vital information about time organization together with resilience learning. Acclimating to my new environment proved difficult because I dealt with sadness about my home country and experienced the unusual climate and speaking differently than others. These demanding situations became motivation for me to pursue my academic goals with greater determination.
I build my future through the continuous creation of computer codes
Moving forward to become a successful IT professional has become more achievable because of the progress I make with each semester. Solving sophisticated problems alongside the pleasure of constructing assemblies from the ground up drives my deep interest in this subject field. The IT profession extends beyond mere code writing because it entails the development of technological answers that trigger life-changing impacts in the world.
My industry expertise development along with hackathon experiences and local company internships formed the foundation of my skills and self-assurance. Within IT a standing still position remains unavailable so students must engage in continuous learning followed by knowledge unlearning and relearning activities.
My life's ambition leads me into the future. My life ambition involves using technical skills to develop software solutions for practical challenges in the world. My goal extends toward advanced learning with development and full commitment to every advancing opportunity.
I move forward into uncertain paths to meet each day with unlimited thinking and strong dedication. I start my journey now while building knowledge from every line of code written along with each acquired lesson to reach my future vision.
Conclusion The educational path extends beyond graduation to reveal my potential because it helps me understand my identity. Following my progression I maintain hope together with faith that my dedicated work and constant effort will convert everything I have dreamed into concrete reality.
The path is lengthy but I will continually strive to extract full worth from each movement toward my objectives.

Canuckle as a Fun and Educational Word Game

In the ever-evolving world of word games, a fresh and uniquely Canadian entry has emerged, captivating enthusiasts with its blend of cleverness and cultural flair. This game, known as Canuckle, has not only caught the attention of wordsmiths but also serves as a delightful homage to Canada’s rich linguistic and cultural heritage.
What is Canuckle?
Canuckle is a word puzzle game that draws inspiration from popular games like Wordle but with a distinctly Canadian twist. The objective is simple yet challenging: players must guess a five-letter word within a limited number of attempts.
Each guess provides feedback, indicating which letters are correct and whether they are in the right position, helping players inch closer to the correct word.
However, what sets apart is that all the words are related to Canada, whether they are uniquely Canadian terms, names of places, or words that hold significance in Canadian culture.
The Canadian Connection
Canuckle’s uniqueness lies in its deep connection to Canadian identity. The game incorporates a wide array of words that reflect the nation’s diverse linguistic landscape, geography, and cultural icons. From words like moose and igloo to beaver and maple, every puzzle is a miniature celebration of Canada.
The creators of Canuckle have cleverly infused the game with elements that resonate with Canadians and those familiar with the country. This not only makes the game educational but also serves as a fun way to explore Canadian vocabulary and trivia.
Players might find themselves learning about new aspects of Canada, from indigenous terms to regional dialects, all while enjoying a mentally stimulating challenge.
The Popularity Surge
Since its inception, Canuckle has seen a rapid surge in popularity. The game’s appeal lies in its simplicity and the satisfaction of cracking the code within a few attempts. Its Canadian theme adds an extra layer of charm, making it a hit among both Canadians and international players who have an affinity for the Great White North.
Social media has played a significant role in Canuckle rise. Players often share their results, discuss strategies, and celebrate their wins on platforms like Twitter and Facebook, creating a vibrant community of enthusiasts. The game’s daily puzzles encourage regular engagement, fostering a sense of anticipation and excitement among its players.
Educational Value
Beyond its entertainment value, Canuckle also has educational benefits. It enhances vocabulary, improves spelling, and sharpens problem-solving skills. For educators, can be a useful tool in the classroom, providing a fun and interactive way to engage students in language learning. The game’s Canadian-centric word choices can also serve as a gateway to lessons about geography, history, and culture.
Challenges and Opportunities
Despite its growing popularity, Canuckle faces some challenges. One of the main issues is ensuring a steady supply of fresh and interesting words. The creators must balance the need for culturally relevant terms with the game’s educational and entertainment value. They also need to keep the game accessible and engaging for players of all ages and backgrounds.
However, these challenges present opportunities as well. Expanding the word database to include a wider array of indigenous words and phrases, for instance, could provide a richer, more inclusive gaming experience. Collaborations with Canadian linguists, historians, and educators could help achieve this goal, ensuring that remains a dynamic and evolving tribute to Canada.

"WELFARE OF WORKERS VITAL"," The Province (Vancouver). September 12, 1934. Page 3. ---- Chamber of Commerce Hears Lesson On Golden Rule In Business. ---- SHORTER HOURS NOT SOLUTION ---- Regulation of Business Has Been Carried Too Far, Says U.S. Visitor. ---- WINNIPEG, Sept. 12-(CP)-Co- operative relationship between employer and employee was vital to the welfare of the nation, declared A. O. Dawson, Montreal, in an address to the ninth annual convention of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce here.
"I believe it is not an extreme statement to say the golden rule is destined to become the general rule in Industry," he declared.
Chairman of the chamber's board, Mr. Dawson declared the future course of the organization should be guided by the principle that progress is measured solely by the advancement in well-being socially and economically of the workers-those who work either for wages or salary who are dependent upon their own Individual effort.
He urged absorption of all employable persons into industry but recognized there were some who were not only unemployed but unemployable. "These must be sympathetically dealt with not only by the state but by every citizen who can give encouragement or help." he said.
SHORTER HOURS NOT SOLUTION. He did not agree that shortening of hours or reduction of the work week would end unemployment. He was in favor of minimum wages and restriction of child labor and gradual reduction of hours of labor on an economic basis and coincident with the decline in the cost of production. Arbitrary reductions, however, were unsound.
Mr. Dawson believed the right to bargain should be conceded to every worker, either on an individual or collective basis. But industry was still opposed to national or international unions which asked the closed shop with its "coercion, restraint and intimidation."
Spurred by exigencies of depression, regulation of business has been carried to too great a degree and revision of codes is imperative, declared Henry I. Harriman, president of the Chamber of Commerce of the United States, in a luncheon address here today. Heading the United States delegation to the annual convention of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Harriman found close links between business of the two countries and noted advances toward prosperity made since war on depression was instituted.
"I do not share the view that you in Canada or we in the United States are rushing headlong into new and untried fields of economy and political adventure, or that we have cut loose from our constitutional moorings." Mr. Harriman declared. "Due to the exigencies of the depression we have undoubtedly gone too far, and we must retrace our steps. But in the main we have come closely to grips with the problems of a changing order of business which are based largely on the profit motive. The United States and the Dominion will set a salutary example of common sense for other nations of the world."
VALUE OF RESEARCH. Examples of what research was doing for business were presented to the convention by G. W. Huggett, Montreal. Application of research to the science of wealth, Mr. Huggett declared, would be a major step towards ending the depression. He declared research permitted business to produce better articles faster and at lower cost. Dr. R. C. Wallace, president of the University of Alberta, addressed a luncheon gathering today, emphasizing Canada's trade policy must make allowance for imports to the value of the raw materials exported.
W. M. Birks, Montreal vice-president of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of the British Empire, addressed a luncheon tendered the visiting women by the Women's Canadian Club. He spoke on "Facets of Empire."
[I love that the 'national' chamber of commerce opposes 'national' unions - capital can organize on a large scale, never labour.]

Joyful Fix: A New Paradigm of Success and Happiness
🌟 In a world where success is often equated with relentless hustle, it’s easy to lose sight of what truly matters—joy. This week on "Business Story of the Week," host Joshua Lori introduces us to Farzin Mazinani, a high-performance coach and author who is redefining what it means to be successful. Through his program, "Joyful Fix," Farzin teaches us that success doesn’t have to come at the cost of our well-being.
The Journey to Joy
Farzin’s journey began with a deep dissatisfaction with life. As a child, he was on a quest to find joy, but no matter where he looked, it remained out of reach. By the age of 12, Farzin had built a library of books, hoping to find the answers within their pages. But the joy he sought was not in the books. It wasn’t until he made a radical decision to turn inward that his life began to change.
At the age of 24, Farzin isolated himself in a windowless room, determined not to emerge until he found the joy that had eluded him for so long. For five days, he sat in darkness, searching within himself. Then, on the fifth day, everything changed. Farzin experienced a moment of clarity, where he realized that the joy he had been searching for was within him all along. This realization was the catalyst for the rest of his life’s work.
From Pain to Purpose
After immigrating to Canada, Farzin faced significant challenges, including a debilitating back injury that left him in chronic pain for 15 years. Despite the pain, Farzin knew there was a lesson to be learned. The turning point came when a friend introduced him to the Emotion Code, a technique that releases trapped emotions. After just a few sessions, Farzin’s pain disappeared, never to return. This experience sparked his passion for helping others overcome their own obstacles and led him to create "Joyful Fix."
The Joyful Fix Method
Farzin’s method is rooted in the belief that success should be achieved with joy and ease, not through struggle and sacrifice. He teaches that by aligning our conscious goals with our subconscious mind, we can move through life with ease, rather than battling against resistance.
One of the key components of Farzin’s program is the removal of blockages—those subconscious barriers that prevent us from achieving our full potential. By addressing these blockages, we can move forward in life with a sense of joy and purpose, rather than feeling weighed down by the pressures of success.
Take the Quiz and Start Your Journey
Farzin offers a free quiz on his website, JoyfulFix.com, designed to help you identify where you may be facing blockages in your life. This quiz assesses the four key areas of life—health, wealth, relationships, and happiness—so you can begin to address the root causes of any issues and start your journey toward a more joyful and successful life.
Join the Joyful Fix Community
If you’re ready to redefine success and embrace a life of joy, Farzin’s program, "Joyful Fix," is here to help. Through techniques like Quantum Healing and the Emotion Code, Farzin guides his clients on a journey of self-discovery and transformation. Whether you’re facing challenges in your health, relationships, or career, Farzin’s approach can help you align your conscious and subconscious mind, so you can move forward with confidence and joy.
🎧 Bonus: Free Audiobook
For those who prefer to listen on the go, Farzin offers a free audiobook version of his book, "Joyful Fix," when you purchase the physical copy on Amazon. This is a great way to dive deeper into Farzin’s teachings and start applying his techniques in your own life.
