20th November 2011 - Abstract Structure to Live Art (Deconstruction Festival)
Was really pleased with this Doodle, Its loosely based on a doodle I did stood in a corner at a live gig.
The gig was in Luton and it was called Deconstruction Festival. Experimental band, after experimental band, with wavs and waves of the Improvised beautiful Noise. So I found a perch on a Armchair and drew the whole 8 hours with breaks of course. My lines where controlled by the flow of the music and this is what I created to the Band 'Coldstream' found here on Myspace
I think its down to the Aspergers, I go into a state of hyper focus which can go on for hours. Beep and Hiss akimbo the music, music for people who like there music to go out there, way out there.
I enjoyed the whole day immensely, Lost in the Doodle until the early Hours of the Morning with no worries or Cares, I think it was when I truly discovered how Calming the Doodle could be. Thanks for Looking,  Tell me about what you like to do art to, and what , music makes your creative juices go wild? Let me know if your interested in buying any original art.

The Apricot Blossom Wedding Sampler
We actually looked for cherry blossoms, but they haven’t bloomed yet. The spring of ’17 has been a late one. Winter has overstayed his welcome, but this photographer isn’t complaining.
So here’s the sampler – a preview of a few photos so you’ll know where to look in a few weeks once the album is done. As I write this, about 200 gigs of photos are downloading to my computer. I picked out a few that I really liked, and here they are.
When I arrived, Stephanie and Jessica were busy getting our bride and bridesmaids looking just perfect. They did a lovely job. This is a take of flower wreaths I can get behind.
This is Peter. He’s been the groomsman at a few weddings I’ve shot. Huge shout out to this guy. He’s always eager to help and does whatever he can to make my life easier. I’m beyond appreciative to this great guy. And who knows, maybe I’ll be shooting his wedding next year!
Back at our Bride’s house, Mom was putting the finishing touches on the bustle. Her face says everything. This is happening now. There was tension in the air.
A moment or two to fall in love with those white and green flowers, and it’s time to visit our venue. This time, it was a charming small family property just off Ellison Park.
Before we knew it, they were walking down the aisle. One of my favourite moments. The smiles are as genuine as they come.
After a long receiving line, it was time to whisk these two lovebirds away for Eric time, or Formals as they’re called.
We got through our bridal party formals effortlessly. The old dirt paths and long grassy foliage provided us with the perfect backdrop.
On our way out, our groom was making calls. Using his connections to find blossoms. In under 10 minutes, we had access to two local orchards.
What followed was the best start to the 2017 season I could possible hope for. A lovely couple walking through a field of flowers. I couldn’t have been happier with the outcome.
And so that’s where we’ll have to leave you for now. Keep in mind, this is just a sampler. It’s a few photos to let you know you’re in the right place. If you’d like to see the full album, you’ll have to wait two weeks! Feel free to fill out this form with your name, and the name of the bride and groom if you’d like an invite to the final gallery after we’ve finished the proofing.

New Post has been published on http://www.drahtphotography.com/cufflink-wedding-durali-villa/
The Cufflink Wedding at Durali Villa
Every wedding has a theme. Sometimes it’s rubber ducks. Other times, it’s just the rain. This wedding had styling cufflinks all around. But let’s back up a little bit. We need to talk about this dress first.
The flowers arrived at around the same time as I did, so I immediately got to work arranging them to work with my dress shot. At Durali Villa, there’s never a shortage of places to get get this sometimes very difficult shot. Think of an 8 bedroom hotel, complete with home theatre and waterfall, all to yourself for the weekend. This whole villa was bustling with excitement.
I wasn’t the only one in love with this dress.
The veil was incredible too, one of the longest I’ve seen. Of course, we had to incorporate this into the ring shot.
The girls were busy getting ready. Hair, makeup, shoes, and a hundred other things.
The men were very busy too.
I think I mentioned that Durali Villa has a built in projector. What guy wouldn’t want this to be part of his morning?
Lets talk about our theme now. Everywhere I looked, everyone had cufflinks. I consider this a classy move. These cufflinks were personalized, which is an even classier move.
We had Toronto Maple Leafs cufflinks for the groom….
And classic style for the men, adding that vintage touch. Even guests were rocking their own sets of cufflinks.
Yes, that’s a stormtrooper. This fella’s bow tie was star wars themed as well. Suddenly I felt underdressed.
But not for long. Soon these two were walking back up the aisle as man and wife. I especially loved the groom’s white bow tie. The entire bridal party, all 12 of them, looked just amazing.
We went to O’Keefe Ranch to shoot a few formals. Shameless plug – O’Keefe ranch is one of my favourite places in Vernon. Whenever I’ve got a guest visiting, I always take them for a tour around the ranch. The owners are incredible, and there’s tours all the time where you can hear about the history behind their several estate houses. And St. Anne’s Church is just incredible in the evening.
Also great, the tall trees along the creek. As a side note, I’ve been wanting to do this shot forever. I needed the rare combination of a large bridal party and a lush outdoor setting. I think it turned out rather well.
The energy coming from the whole bridal party was unmistakable. Everyone was excited to be there, putting everything into the photos. But soon, it was time to steal the bride and groom for some formals before I rush them back to the reception a little late.
The sun provided us with some lovely backlit shots. The natural grass gave us a healthy green backdrop, and a little bit of pollen. Fortunately, we had all had our allergy medications.
And with that, I’ll have to end this sampler. I realize it’s a little late going up, but it’s also a much larger one. 16 photos, because I couldn’t choose just four or five. Feel free to right click or long press on these images, depending on if you’re on a cell or a computer. I leave my website open for anyone to download what they like. The full album will be done in a few weeks, so please be patient! It’s hard, I know.
Feel free to fill out this form with your name, and the name of the bride and groom if you’d like an invite to the final gallery after we’ve finished the proofing.
