アメリカ史上最大の大学入試事件

裕福な有名人や経営者などが関与した収賄スキャンダル。

先月１２日、マサチューセッツ州の司法当局は、Ivy Leagueの不正入学に関わったとして５０人を贈収賄などの罪で逮捕したと発表し、その中にはハリウッドスターのロリ・ロックリングやフェリシティ・ハフマンなども含まれていたので全米中で大きなニュースになっていました。

Ivy Leagueは、歴代大統領や学会、政財界に多くの卒業生を輩出しているアメリカ北東部にある「ブラウン大学」「コロンビア大学」「コーネル大学」「ダートマス大学」「ハーバド大学」「ペンシルベニア大学」「ブリンストン大学」「イェール大学」の名門私立８大学の通称で、不正入学の斡旋をしていたのはWilliam Singerでした。

シンガーは、偽の慈善団体を創り、親たちから多額の金を集めていました。

その額は８年間で＄25,000,000（約２８億円）です。

シンガーの手口は２つです。

①試験会場での不正

　SAT、ACTと呼ばれる入学適性試験で試験官を買収して、替え玉受験や答案の書き換えを実行。

②スポーツ推薦状資格の悪用

　コーチを買収して、受験生の実績を水増しした他、未経験のスポーツの特待生にする為に顔写真を合成した。

今回の事件では、偽の点数、偽の推薦状、写真の合成、大学関係者への賄賂による８年間の詐欺行為で、どれほどの不正入学あったのでしょうか。

入学した子供たちは不正の事実を知らないとのことですが、その多くは卒業し就職しています。

この報道でSNSには「もっと親が頑張ってくれていれば僕も入学できたのに」などと云う投稿もあります。

有名私立大学の学歴は信用できませんね。
