Was gearing up to start drawing a bunch and my computer explodes on me

As someone who knows alot about piracy please Pirate the sims 1 and 2 because the new rerelease has denuvo tacked onto it and that mf will kill your computers and drain your wifi

let me explain what denuvo is

in short its "anti cheat" code thats only purpose is to complicate the game code so badly that it makes it near impossible for pirates to reverse engineere the game and pirate it, ofc this is not true and Pirates can crack many versions of denuvo it just takes time

so essentially it does nothing but ruin your computer

how?

This extra slop code is integrated into the code of the game so it runs every single time you launch the game and on top of the code slop that games are made of that make your compute heat up and use up ram denuvo code is running ON TOP, using more ram AND internet, forcing offline games to go fully online When the games previously didnt need an internet connection at all.

It has been proven so many times that it cause issues from longer load times to frame rate drops, denuvo's code slows everything down and almost always performance improves by like 50% after denuvo is removed by developers.

There are games that were completely unplayable like they wouldn't even launch because of denuvo, and the company claims this is not their fault and that people should upgrade their computers so this wont happen.. yeah right

Essentially with the reveal that EA didn't fix anything about the sims 1 and 2 and just released them as is but with denuvo attached they literally sold you code to keep you Connected to their servers and force you to not be able to share anything with anyone and forcing the games to preform 50 times worse than their 25 year old selves...

So please dont buy a program that will kill your computers and ruin your games and allow EA to be permanently Connected on your computer thats posing as the sims 1 and 2!!!!

Please please just pirate these 2 games!

Also even though sims 4 is free also Pirate that shit its not worth paying over 1k dollars in dlcs when hslf od them do not work

Update the denuvo tag on steam was a mistake on EAs part it has been confirmed that they dont have it (proof in the REBLOGS) my point still stands though :

Things for faint-i-wont-be-ignored to work on in 2025:

Immediately important steps -

• Drink water frequently

• Get more sleep (teenagers need like 10 hours. Try to find a regular time when you can start sleeping and stick to it. If you're used to a late hour, start by pushing it back an hour or half an hour every night, until you achieve an appropriate hour.)

• If you don't eat regularly (at least three proper meals a day, at regular hours), do that too please

-> If you need to snack in between, do it. That's your body crying out for sustenance. Ignoring your body's needs will only make you miserable.

Optional but would be beneficial -

• Spend more time offline. Find somatic activities you like to do. Writing? Drawing? Knitting?

-> If you write on your computer, just stick to your google doc or wherever and don't open a tumblr tab, or any other social media (music apps are fine if you wanna listen while you work)

-> If you write on your phone, then turn off wifi and data and write in your notes app, only going online when you wanna copy and paste to where you're gonna post your work. You can listen to downloaded songs, or use your computer for music, but if you use your computer, don't open anything else other than the music app.

• Or you can play singleplayer video games. Whatever it is, it must be singleplayer.

• If you still want to microdose on online connections, try discord instead of tumblr, so it's not a mass wave of posting but just private conversations with your chosen friends instead. Maybe you have a small server together. And, if you want company while you're doing your offline activities, you can talk to someone on there.

• You have a mutual who's also your friend irl, right? Ask them if they'd be willing to help you, to keep you accountable. And be sure to help them too if they need it! Also, if you feel like have something you wanna say but wanna stay offline, then confide in your irl friend. You can always share it on tumblr later on when you come online.

Most important -

• If you are working on this, but falter back, don't beat yourself up over it. Be kind to yourself. (Repeat after me: I will be kind to myself. I am loved.) Just pick yourself back up and keep going at a pace that's comfortable for you. Progress isn't always linear, and that's okay. There are people who love you and want to see you happy and healthy, both physically and mentally.
