I also refuse to believe he didn’t hear about this kid blowing up a toilet in Clarisse’s face and didn’t fall in love

I also refuse to believe Connor didn’t meet a confident little girl on his first day of camp, later see her fighting a bigger camper and win and didn’t fall in love

And there was no way he didn’t get a little jealous when they both spent almost all of their time around Luke

In conclusion Connor was madly in love with Annabeth and Percy and he deserves to hold their hands

I just know this happened at some point pre-tlt:

Annabeth and Connor are giggling because they got away with yet another prank (this time it was drenching the ares cabin in pink paint) only to turn to run and find Luke standing right behind them with his arms crossed, glaring at them

Needless to say they spent the next two weeks cleaning the pegasi stables

Thinking about connabeth and how, canonically, it's Connor who calls for Percy and Annabeth to get thrown into the lake. that he more then likely helped plan the little interruption. that he had to have let her go before that night. did she go with the relief of being surviving the war? what does conner think happened in the throne room? would he have turned to annabeth before turning down godhood? does he know what he would have done? does he think about it? do you think they talked earlier that day? they must have. her arm still green from defending a boy who wasn't him and her eyes still wet because of his brother. the way that he knew he was her second choice but he wouldn't just be another loved one that left her. and they hurt each other but its okay because they're alive. idk you know what I mean anyway Im fine how are you

i was reading house of hades aloud while the girls i babysit made friendship bracelets today, and after i'd already started an annabeth chapter, i paused to flip a few pages ahead, to see if i was right about where we were in the story, and then i smiled. the girls were curious why i'd stopped, so i told them a part i liked was coming. "oh no," my 12yo said, "should i be worried?" i asked why she would need to be worried?? then she exchanged a very meaningful look with her younger sister and i realized.. "oh.. because my favorite parts tend to be very percabeth-y?" their confirmation was emphatic. "no, i promise it's not a super romantic percabeth scene," i told them, "not that there is absolutely anything wrong with those percabeth scenes" *glares*

anyway i got the last laugh anyway, because it was the connabeth crumbs instead ..which they tried to fight me on. but alas, we can't have everything

Chapter Eight

“Oh, fuck.” If there was a better way to express the lightning bolt of panic that shot through Annabeth and jolted her very core, she didn’t have the mental capacity, or the luxury of time, to conjure it up. It was bizarre, how she felt herself go hot and cold all at once; her face, eyes and throat burning, her blood like ice in her veins. Somewhere in her shock, she dropped the pastry, which managed to bounce off her plate and roll across the floor, out of sight. At least that was one problem solved, and she didn’t have to try and eat the fucking thing. That said, her stomach churned as she considered the much larger problem looming over her, and she decided she would’ve much rather stumbled her way through a deeply unwanted breakfast amid waves of nausea, than spend a second longer in such a state of dread.
