i mean the truth is that we do not need and should not have all this stupid plastic clutter in or houses. no one should be producing or selling this shit. everyone make your own merchandise and charge a living hourly wage to sell it 🤷 sorry to be so simplistic about this but it's one of the results of the lack of class unity specifically in the means of production-owning creative class, who is not mentioned or dealt with by the core Marxist texts as far as I know (i asked about this earlier on here, did marx ever address in his analysis people like, for example, a professional photographer who owns a camera ans prints his own dagguereotypes? or a portrait painter or idk, independent milliner or seamstress? these people all own the means of production and do not employ anyone, and the answer from better educated people than I was that no, Marx didn't mention them), I'm not well read on this at all, there is just a big void where leftist analysis of what modern economists call "the creative class"
I'm getting off topic. my point is make your own keychains in your kitchen. it's actually not hard. you can even mass produce (on a small scale) little plastic crap if you want, with resin and a UV lamp, or a 3d printer, or a laser cutter and acrylic sheets (or just use balsa wood damn, at least its biodegradable and less tacky).
all this stuff is available to little creators AND there are hundreds of people who already own these machines who will take work for you and produce your designs. you just have to actually find them and know them and email them. that's what I mean about the class unity issue with creatives. we have no large scale union, we have no large scale class consciousness, and we're all sending our orders for little plastic crap to sweatshops instead of emailing a guy with a laser cutter in his garage and saying "hey Keith can I get uhhhhhhhhhhh 50 laser cut keychains of this twerking Diggler design I made, like how much would that cost" and he's like sure here's the work and materials cost and tbh it's always always less than i think it's going to be. you just have to do some basic arithmetic and then order shipping, and I hate order fulfillment with my life but you can actually pay or barter with someone to do that for you too. learn to delegate and then factor that into your unit cost. this is basic shit every commercial creator needs to know. they should teach you this in art school but they dont
don't give me crap about "I can't afford a laser cutter" either because I just told you to email Keith. and all these machines get sold secondhand when a manufacturer or hobbyist needs to upgrade. i got a color laser printer perfect for making zines and wheatpastes and shipping labels from a retired lesbian on capital hill for $75 and it was still full of ink. my friend gave me her 20 year old canon dslr because she just didn't need it and didn't want to bother selling it. it works fine because I spent the time finding the right drivers and shit for my computer. and card readers exist. Craigslist. Facebook marketplace. nextdoor sales section. eBay. everyone always forgets eBay. eBay lets you save searches and will email you when it finds a guy selling his vinyl plotter in your city with local pickup. I'm serious
#long post#pro doom strats#leather embossing is another one#risograph prints#woodblock prints#rubber prints#etchings even#silicon molds for sculpey or resin or clay#local pottery studios#local photography studios#professional art printers with giclee printers!#ive used all these techniques to make merch#none of them are difficult or out of reach its just EASIER and adverised more to order shit from china#oh my god i forgot button presses#ALSO WE NEED A UNION AND STANDARDIZED HOURLY WAGES BTW#TIRED OF THIS BICKERING ABOUT PRICE UNDERCUTTING

memoria is incredibly close to my heart, but when i listen to it now, it's hard not to think about the undertones re: how therapy as an institution handles disability. maxwell's objective was always to help hera get back to work, to find accommodations she could function under, or otherwise to replace her. "i'm sorry you feel like you can't do your job." maxwell presents her solutions in a less hostile framing, but her methods are the same ones cutter threatens hera with in her live show performance review (re: deleting her memories) and it's something she intends to do regardless of hera's consent. maxwell's practice aligns with goddard's interests, and of course it does. there's something about therapy as maintenance, and the treatment of the disabled mind and/or body as a broken machine.
hera is used to being condescended to and taunted for her limitations ("we all have our limits. you can't do what you can't do. it's not your fault.") and that intersects with her trauma ("i can't do this. i'm not good enough.") in a way that inherently ties her self worth to her ability to be useful and perform a job. as a result, she has a gut reaction to and a resistance to anyone suggesting she might not be capable of something, or that she might need help, and that makes her constantly push herself past her limits, causing real damage. the problem is that hera is disabled, there are things she can't do, and she hasn't been given the security or compassion to really come to terms with that. no amount of ways to manage doing her job will really help the core problem; she needs to be able to separate her concept of self worth from her productivity. "we get things wrong, and we get better." is a nice sentiment, but i think it applies more to interpersonal conflict than physical burnout. hera even directly calls back to and casts doubt on that specific line later in the show.
that's why eiffel matters so much to hera. when eiffel says "you can do anything" - he believes that, he has that kind of sincere faith in all of his friends, but he means it even when it's disproven. he's seen her fail. he's seen her make mistakes. it doesn't matter because it isn't about what he expects of her, it's about who she is to him. minkowski is the commander, even when she's not. hera can do anything, even when she can't. eiffel values people, not their jobs. if hera didn't have a supercomputer for a brain, she would still be the same to him; it's who she is and her companionship that he wants. i'm not saying that what maxwell did for hera was useless - it's effective therapy that gave her a clearer understanding of herself, and a framework to understand what's been happening to her; that's extremely valuable. but that alone would not have been enough. what hera thinks of at the end of memoria, what actually pulls her through, is the support and care that eiffel and minkowski continually show to her.
#wolf 359#w359#hera wolf 359#there's a lot you can say about um. doctors. in wolf 359#while i think the writers are pretty pro-therapy and some of this was probably not directly intentional#there is an awareness of worthiness wrt capitalism and productivity in the show that i think seeps through#even if they didn't mean to critique it in quite that way. it resonates.#this is my life and you don't get to rewrite it to fit what you need...

Inspired by semi-incremental survival game Terraformental -- which I would recommend. Technically contains minor spoilers for a core mechanic that is not totally obvious right at the start. If you want to go in totally blind, do that now. Otherwise, short write under the cut.
My Best Friend The Box-Cutter
If I’ve learned anything from this predicament, it’s that dying of thirst is very boring. Also very unpleasant. Unfortunately I’ve also learned that a nailgun to the skull is nowhere near as immediately lethal as I hoped it would be. I won’t be repeating that mistake.
I’ve developed quite a tolerance for thirst. Parched is starting to feel like my natural state. Of course my mouth is a dry and sour-tasting place. Of course my eyelids stick unpleasantly to the surface of my eyes as they open and close. It’s good – the water rations stretch further now that I tolerate these things better.
Approaching 48h since the last drop ran out, however, I’m quite ready to be rid of the throbbing headache, the nausea, the shaking, the heat. My vision’s too blurred to be able to achieve much more this time round.
I don’t want to do the final day of laying on the floor, slipping in and out of consciousness as the pain and the sickness and the thirst – god, the thirst – devour me from the inside out.
No more nailguns though. That was a bad end, stumbling about seeing red and black, filled with the horror of having a nail lodged in my brain and not being dead. No thanks.
The box-cutter is my new best friend. Slitting my wrists probably isn’t the single quickest, cleanest suicide I could come up with, but I’m done experimenting. Autoexsanguination is good enough. It’s tolerable, and more importantly I can’t fuck it up.
The cuts themselves really aren’t bad – which sounds like I’m minimising, but I’m not. I use a fresh blade and it’s so sharp I barely feel it. I find the veins with my fingertips – I’m getting better at that, too – line it up so I don’t nick any tendons (not that it matters), and the sharp edge slides through the skin like – well, like slicing meat.
My mouth would water at the thought of real meat but – well. Instead I guess it’s just a pang of intense homesickness.
The blood that wells up is dark and looks thick and sluggish to my eyes – but maybe I’m imagining that. There’s an intense but fleeting impulse to put the wounds to my mouth, to taste the liquid, even though I know it won’t quench my thirst and it’d make my mouth more sticky than wet.
There’s water on the other side, I remind myself. As much as I can drink. Just the other side of this last ordeal.
I make a few long, deep cuts per wrist. Some bleed better than others. The first wrist stings as I swap hands to use the knife. The sting will deepen to an ache before it’s over, but it doesn’t bother me. It doesn’t compare to the headache, which I am so ready to be rid of.
Now there’s nothing left to do but wait.
I sit myself down against the wall, trailing blood as I go, and set about trying to arrange my clothing around my neck so as to keep my head up even when I lose all muscle tone.
Last time I did this I successfully passed out sitting up, but I came round again when I slumped over, which wasn’t ideal. Blood loss is tolerable, but it isn’t exactly fun. I’d rather spend as little of the process conscious as possible.
I’ve done a good job opening my veins this time. I can already feel the shaky weakness setting in. I probably wouldn’t be able to distinguish it from the dehydration if I weren’t – implausibly – an expert.
The smell of stale, recycled air is steadily covered by the rising smell of blood. It might be unpleasant under other circumstances, but honestly it’s nice to smell something that isn’t dust, machine oil, or my own exhalations. The thick, sticky liquid coats my skin, soaks into my clothes. It’s weird not to mind it, but I’m not gonna be here long enough for it to matter.
Finally I find a position where I reckon I’ll stay upright-ish, with an air canister wedged behind my neck, and the duffel bag tucked up under one arm to stop me slumping sideways. The air temperature isn’t really dropping, but it feels like it.
This is where it gets unpleasant. The nausea worsens. There’s nothing in my stomach to bring up – I learned a while ago that it’s best to stop eating when the water runs out – but I gag into the back of my throat anyway.
I feel weak, I feel cold, and I feel the awful sense of dread that is my body trying desperately to tell me that I’m going to die.
It’s – not wrong, but also it is wrong. I’m going to be fine. I’m going to feel so much better just as soon as I wake up.
God I hate this part.
My ears ring wetly as vision starts to fail me. Good. For some reason the “darkness” that creeps in when I pass out is blue. Always has been. Brains, what are they like. My thoughts are fuzzy. My teeth are fuzzy. Nearly there now. As soon as I pass out I’ll stop feeling so bad.
And then I wake up. And it feels so fucking good to not be dying.
Now I just need to get up and do it all over again.

Outfit still up for changes but uhm.
Lore under here. They feel like a cringey deviantart oc surneurje the killerrrr
During the first world war, the British navy struggled to protect itself from submarines. Project Cookie Cutter was started then, but was never finished in time. The team of scientists working on the creation took inspiration from their American allies, particularly the use of metal men. But as Colonel Walter refused to assist in the creation of a weapon, they were left to figure it out for themselves. Unable to recreate the same raw energy that powers Walter's robots, the project was shelved, but not for very long.
The second war came around and they found themselves yet again in need of much better navy weapons, and returned to project cookie cutter. This time around, the project took on new scientists, amongst them a woman born with the ability to harness blue matter. With her at the head of the team, Cookie Cutter was finally completed.
Cookie Cutter was designed with sharp teeth and a jaw that opens real fucking wide. Like a cookie cutter shark, it would latch onto enemy submarines and chew right through them from the outside, flooding them. A machine designed to kill and taught that this was its only purpose. Their creator intended for them to be an unfeeling weapon, a cold killer, and any signs of sentience or feeling was seen as a malfunction. After countless attempted repairs and upgrades, Cookie Cutter came to resent itself for these feelings. It isn't supposed to be this way, it's an unfeeling machine, not an overly emotional human. It learned to ignore its feelings and carry out orders thoughtlessly.
After the war ended it was taken home by its creator. The coming years are what Cookie Cutter considers its worst, shark hates feeling useless, it was built with a purpose and now it is nothing. Craving a meaning to its existence, after a few years of not knowing what to do with themself it came back to its roots, becoming a fucking hitman.
Sorry I got tired writing and am now unserious about it ZuIRNEJEB uhm. Yeah. It's a hitshark... the killerrrrr.
At its core it's a very sensitive and caring person, but due to shark's upbringing and training has been conditioned to suppress everything all the time forever and feel extremely ashamed of their feelings. Womp womp. Real dork loser nerds will see which character inspired shark normal people dont worry ❤ yay ❤

The Prom Incident: Part 2
(Just outside the gymnasium, on level 6)
*Uzi, N, and Hot Rod arrive at the entrance to the gym, finding Chase and a few other Elite Guardsmen trying to get in.*
Guard 1: “What genius thought it was a great idea to make the gym lockable only from inside!?”
Hot Rod: “Aren’t you supposed to be in training?”
Chase: “Uzi. Hot Rod. …N. I’ll be brief. There’s a situation in the gym.”
Uzi: “Well, duh. That’s why we’re here.”
Chase: “…I’ll ask for details later. I’m assuming you know about V and Lizzy–.”
N, Uzi, Hot Rod: “Yes.”
Chase: “Good. Strongarm has given us permission to engage Them and any other accomplices, and Wheeljack has given us experimental ammunition that he believes will help us solve this crisis”
Guard 2: *to N* “Hey murder bot, you got any bolt cutters or something?”
*Something is then thrown into one of the gym doors from inside, hitting hard enough to distort the door and cause it to fall on top of the talking guardsman. This is followed by a crush of WDs and some HDs fleeing the room. Some are missing limbs, with those that have lost legs– including Warpath, who’s swearing like a sailor –being carried out by others, but all of them seem terrified.*
Braiden: *Head on fire again, passing as the fleeing crowd thins* “Worst! Prom! Ever!”
*Once enough of the crowd passes and flees, Uzi, N, Chase, and Hot Rod see what blew the door off…”
Hot Rod: *Quiet, horrified* “…Sunstreaker?”
*Atop the broken door (and an Elite Guardsman) was the corpse of his semi-narcissistic classmate, but his yellow paint job was quickly turning light shade of gray. Hot Rod had heard of aggressive depigmentation before, back when he was in elementary school, and there was only one reason for such a thing to happen.
*Namely, death.
*The cause of this was, fortunately, quite obvious. Of course, that’s not saying much: a bunch of cleavers embedded into a Heavy Drone’s chassis (including one into his core and another into his visor, meaning his orange eyes weren’t rendering) leaves quite a bit of room for interpretation.*
Uzi: *to N, mildly concerned* “Do your sisters… have disposable melee weapons? Ones you can create a lot of in a very short time?”
N: “N-no. G might be able to, but I’m not sure.”
*The trapped guardsman pushes the door and corpse off of him, but is unable to stand.*
Guard 1: “I’ll take Dreadwing to the med-bay, I trust you and your friends can handle this.”
*The guardsman-in-training simply nods. Chase then cranes his head to look inside, followed by his blog-mates, finding that Prom has devolved into absolute chaos, with some parts of the room on fire. Multiple HD and WD body parts are laying across the floor, oil and hydraulic fluid splattered across the walls. Oh, and V was fighting Doll, who was using what one who is familiar with a 3d modelling program can describe as program tools, but usable to wreak havoc.*
*The Russian speaking WD summons a cleaver knife and tosses it at V, removing her arm. She follows this up by removing the ceiling fan from its post.*
Uzi: “Holy crap, what is she doing?”
N: “This isn't what I expected at all! I guess we should–”
Chase: *flat and blunt* “NO.”
*Doll throws the ceiling fan in V's direction like a frisbee, an attack that is narrowly dodged. V uses her remaining arm to deploy a plasma cannon and fire back.*
N: “But she’s–”
Chase: “I refuse to actively aid a criminal.”
Uzi: “Then why are you helping this guy?” *gestures to N*
Chase: *beat* “I refuse to aid a criminal who is not explicitly trying to reform.”
*With a swipe of her hand, Doll enforces a shield that protects her from V's blasts. She then uses her… abilities to force a pole through V’s midsection.*
Uzi: “Well, if she dies here, then she won’t get the chance to reform herself, will she?”
Chase: *ponders* “…valid enough.”
*V pulls herself off the pole, and fires at Doll using a machine gun from her regenerated arm. The purple haired, red eyed Worker picks up the broken door and throws it at her opponent… only for N to stop the projectile. Uzi follows up by deploying her sword and trying to stab Doll directly in the face. The blade basically ricochets, though it leaves the Russian speaker’s visor cracked.*
Doll: *confused* “[Uzi, would you really side with the Murder Drones? I'm not the only one who's lost family to them.]”
Uzi: “Bite me! Whoever started this wants us to fight!”
Doll: “[Cute.]” *smiles as her eyes flash yellow for a split second* “[But I don’t need help.]”
*The emo shapeshifter’s eyes widen before narrowly avoiding impalement from another summoned pole. V lunges at Polina from the side, only for the latter to teleport out of the way, reappearing before N, who she engages in battle.*
V: “Hey, you’re the little shifter N told me about, aren’t you?”
Uzi: “Uh…” *She doesn’t know what to make of this* “…yes?” [[WTF is a shifter?]]
V: “Mmmm… You help me kill this purple-haired bitch and find Lizzy, and I don’t kill you. Deal?”
*After a moment, she nods. Chase and Hot Rod, meanwhile, are taking cover behind the bleacher, where they find Bumblebee, Blades, Rebecca, Thad, and Jazz hiding from the carnage.*
Bee: “Why is she even doing this?” *turns to the blue-haired WD* “Do you have any ideas?”
Rebecca: “How am I supposed to know? She and Liz never told me they were, like, basically witches!”
Thad: *terrified* “You’re her friend! Don’t friends know their friends better than other people!?”
Chase: “Do you have anything in regards to potential motivations?”
Bee: “Chase! Hot Rod! Great timing. Please tell me the Guard has a plan to stop this madness.”
Hot Rod: “We have… concepts of one?” *smiles sheepishly* “We honestly expected N’s sister to be the one driving the violence, not Doll.”
Blades: *a mix of existential anxiety and sarcasm* “Great. Now we can all die together.” [[CALCULATING MOST PROBABLE DEITY TO PRAY TO]]
Hot Rod: *to Bumblebee* “Any chance you brought your pistol with you?”
Bee: “N-no, that’s at home.” *beat* “How was I supposed to know Lizzy would–!?”
Jazz: “You didn’t. An’ I don’t think anyone here did.”
Thad: “Is there a rule against taking guns off a deceased Elite Guardsman?”
*Chase looks offended, and opens his mouth to speak, only for N to get thrown into the wall above them, coming down in segmented body parts*
N: *reduced to a head and torso* “Hey guys, how’s it hanging?”
Rebecca: “Shut up.”
*Doll and Uzi continue their fight. A knife is thrown into the stereo, which Doll then takes to toss at Uzi again. Uzi jumps and arms herself with the microphone stand, which she kicks towards Doll. She stops the stand in mid-air. Uzi turns into her car mode and makes a tight turn towards her opponent. The stand is thrown back at her, causing her to overturn. Doll summons a dozen cleaver knives and flings them towards V, who is circling her near the ceiling like a vulture. She flies semi-gracefully between them, before unleashing her plasma cannon on Polina once more.*
*She teleports out of the way, only to be on the receiving end of a flying tackle from behind, courtesy of a reconstituted N.*
*As the 3v1 continues, with those involved moving in a way one could describe as some sort of dance, Chase is looking for the opportunity to end this situation once and for all. Loading his pistol with the magnesium rounds Wheeljack gave him, he waits. Eventually, Doll is knocked to the floor with a flying kick to the head by Uzi, at which point the Elite Guardsman in training opens fire on the perpetrator. To his dismay, Polina uses her abilities to stop most of them before they hit her…*
*…And then she redirects them towards V, who was preparing to shoot the purple-haired WD in the head.*
*As soon as the bullets hit, the female Disassembler’s insides are set on fire, flames shooting out of the holes where they hit. The sensation of suddenly having their insides lit ablaze causes V to fall to the oil-splattered, corpse-ridden floor, screaming in agony.*
N: “V!!!” *Flies over to his teammate/little sister* ohmygod pleasedontdiepleasedontdiepleasedontdie–”
*He finds her convulsing on the floor in unspeakable pain, as her red dress burns off and her visor is glitching uncontrollably. Her pained screams are similarly increasingly distorted with static.*
V: [N– N, I-I’m sorry it hurts so much N help me help me please help I don’t wanna die please help me]
*Doll stands up and prepares to finish the job, only for Uzi to throw a table at her. Hitting the floor, the purple and black shapeshifter pounces, and the two start brawling.*
Doll: *whilst she and Uzi’s fight devolves into a punching match* “[Do you not feel remorse?]”
Uzi: “More for N than you, you just killed half our grade! And for what!? Just to kill one of the disassemblers!?”
Doll: “[You know not what is behind them–]” *moves her head to the side to avoid a stab* “[–what lies ahead for you if you continue down this path. The force behind the Disassemblers wants us gone, wants you and your kind gone. If we finish their pawns off now–]”
*Her opponent responds by punching Doll in the face hard enough to make another crack in her visor, before converting her legs into engines and pinning the Russian-speaking WD against the ceiling.*
Uzi: “Fuck off! They’ve only been cooperative since the breach, and they’re just as much in the dark about the bigger picture as we are. I'm not dealing with anything well, but I'm done dealing with everything alone. We move forward together, or not at all.”
Doll: “[Did they not kill your mother? Did he–]” *gestures to N* “[–not try to kill you? Or are you too focused on finding yourself to care?]”
*This causes Uzi to freeze up for a brief moment. Doll uses her opponent's distraction to try dismembering the emo shapeshifter with her powers…*
*…only for her right eye to be shot out, causing her to leak… blood? A brief glance down below sees Bumblebee holding a EG-standard pistol, moments before bolting for cover. Doll attempts to pick up the ceiling fan on the gym floor to bisect the yellow HD, but all this results in is a panicked Uzi’s right hand and forearm transforming into an upgraded version of her Sick As Hell Railgun, immediately charging up to fire. Doll only has enough time to widen her remaining eye in surprise/horror before teleporting back on the ground behind the bleachers–*
*–and immediately gets shot in the head by Chase, with a normal round.*
*It takes a moment for things to settle down. Jazz, Thad, Blades, Bee, and Rebecca stare at Polina’s “corpse” with horror, especially in the latter’s case.*
Jazz: “Is it over?”
Uzi: *lands* “H-how did I do that!? And why am I all sweaty? Who programmed that!?”
Thad: *runs over* “Uzi, you ok?”
Uzi: “Wasn’t expecting to shoot the place up, but yeah, I’m fine!” *an eyelid on her visor twitches as she finishes, before she looks in the direction of N and V, the former cradling the latter* “…Not sure about everyone else…”

So, for Christmas break, I've been staying with a very considerate older couple. When I got here, I found out that they're also...comfortably wealthy. I wish I could have been live-blogging my stay here, but this summary post will have to suffice.
MOSS'S MUSINGS: HOUSEGUEST EDITION.
-Ask which dishes you are allowed to use. I didn't know this would even be a question--I grew up with one set of dishes--but it matters. The dishes we've been using are red with snowmen on them. Tonight I put my soup in a red bowl with Christmas trees around the edge. That was wrong and bad. I have been told that they "prefer I not use that" because it is "for special occasions," and was told to "set it aside so I can hand-wash it." Side note, rich people also own things that can't go in the dishwasher. Thankfully they told me about this ahead of time.
-In general, they make requests when they mean to give you instructions. "I'm having some ladies over tonight, so if you'd like to clean the bathroom, that would be fine." = I, Moss, need to clean the bathroom before I leave for work this morning. They're secret instructions--instructions in a suggestion-shaped suit. I like to think of it as a secret code that I'm very smart for solving. It helps me to not tear my hair out.
-House thing that shook me to the core: They have heat vents on the floors under the sinks! So you can wash your hands or wash dishes and your feets don't get cold!
-Speaking of heat: heated mattress pads exist! It's like a heating pad for your whole body. High settings are nice for muscle aches; low settings are so cozy to sleep on.
-Speaking of mattresses: The guest room has a Sleep Number mattress. I think it's a scam. It's a balloon under your mattress to adjust the firmness/softness. I am 240 lbs. If it isn't over half inflated, my butt's on the bedframe.
-They are weird about trash. All food waste is handled separately and taken straight to the bin in the garage so it doesn't smell. The kitchen trash can lid has a motion sensor. It's automatic. Scared the daylights out of me when I first walked past it to get water at night.
-Speaking of water, ask what water you should use. Tap is not acceptable to some! My hosts have a fridge dispenser. Unfortunately it dispenses cold water. I have worked around this by getting water in advance of my needs and letting it change toward room temp. Also, you can't put drinks on the furniture! Wood is different from the plastic-coated OSB furniture that I grew up with. I must remember now to use coasters because any spills or drips can leave white marks.
-When they start discussing money, try not to let your mouth drop open at the amount of zeroes. One host bought a new car and was bragging to me about how he only paid $28,000, and that was actually $5,000 off for having a certain type of credit card. I just worked the mental math for the discount percentage to keep my brain from exploding. $5k is more than I paid for my entire car. My family motto is "Buy used and drive it 'til the wheels fall off." I did not say so.
-Most importantly, they've been extremely kind and generous to me. They dropped my rent for the month down to almost nothing. They bought any groceries I expressed interest in. I'm going back to campus with some of the best homemade soup of my life, and a coupon for an oil change, and a new appreciation for dark chocolate almonds. When I got here, my hostess had set up a desk for my sewing machine in her sewing room (!! a whole room for sewing!!) and taught me to use a rotary cutter and an iron that's entirely too complex.
tl;dr rich-ish people are super weird about some things you wouldn't expect, and your head will explode a few times, but they're still people and my overall experience has been great.

the more i watch Murder Drones, the more the Disassembly Drones' designs make practical sense, especially the weapons.
of the six (seven counting the nanite stinger) weapons the DDs have at their disposal, only two are actually suited to taking out large numbers of defenseless workers: the beam cutter and missile launcher. however, their on-demand arsenal starts to make more sense if you think of it less as a crowd-clearing method, and more as a hard counter to Zombie Drones.
three different types of melee cutting weapons (claws, swords, chainsaws) for temporarily dismembering, allowing a DD to properly neutralize the Solver-infected core. one ranged cutting weapon (beam cutters) in case the target is outside of Rip And Tearing range. two projectile weapons (submachine guns and missile launchers) for mobile targets that might be able to dodge the other weapons.
and finally, the nanite stinger, which burns faster than Solver-infected drones can regenerate, and is likely the most effective for disabling cores, since it closely resembles the Disassembler machine's spear from the VHS tape in Home.
on top of that, almost all of the DD's biggest weakpoints (legs, wings) are heavily reinforced, but light enough for the drones to remain hyper-mobile.
and considering that it was nanite acid that (for the most part) killed Nori, it lends into the theory that she went full Zombie Drone.

Creating a granite washbasin involves a series of steps that transform raw granite into a polished and functional sink. Here’s a breakdown of the process:
1. Material Selection
Granite Slab Selection: Choose a high-quality granite slab based on desired color, pattern, and durability. The slab should be free of cracks and flaws.
Thickness: Ensure the slab is of appropriate thickness for durability and aesthetics (usually 2-3 cm).
2. Design Planning
Shape and Size: Decide on the washbasin's shape (round, rectangular, oval, or custom) and dimensions.
Template Creation: Use a paper or wooden template to outline the sink's shape on the granite.
3. Cutting
Rough Cutting: Use a diamond saw or water jet cutter to cut the granite slab according to the template.
Sink Hole: If the design includes a built-in sink, use a core drill to create the drain hole.
4. Shaping
Edge Shaping: Carve the edges of the washbasin using hand tools, grinders, or CNC machines, depending on the design.
Inner Contouring: For recessed sinks, shape the inner bowl area with precision tools.
5. Smoothing
Use diamond-grit abrasives to smooth the surface and remove tool marks. Start with coarse grits and progress to finer ones for a uniform finish.
6. Polishing

Shal SPN meta masterpost
(The thought of labeling my unhinged ramblings as "essays" or "meta" honestly gives me hives.) But well. After a year, I'm still here, and I am making and updating this (A) to happily re-visit my thoughts for my own enjoyment and (B) to add to my pinned post.
MY META:
==Most Liked==
Dean, Cas, and sharing pockets

Lucifer + cognitive empathy
Lucifer...doesn't really rib Cas that hard about his feelings for Dean
Dean's guilt and emotions make him LOOK guiltier than other characters
Dean + ashamed of being alive
== Symbols ==
Castiel's coat of arms - When Cas dons the overcoat, he hijacks the narrative
Dean, the Cupid, and the insidious motive to demoralize his faith in ever finding "True Love"

TFW are messy disaster parents and I dig it
When Dean killed Belphegor, it was about Rowena, but it was ALSO about [OMITTED]
Cas + resilience + repeat existential crises
Dean & Cas + Covert Communication in 15x09
Claire & Jack are uneasy around each other at best; actively dislike each other at worst
== Breakdowns ==
Jack's best memory was in 13x06; some notes about the scene
Oh, my GOD, Cas. Dean was so stupidly worried about you, you dumbass. (12x17-12x19)
Season 11-12 Lucifer + war + rejection + Jack -> the thing that will give his life new meaning

The mission before all else + Mary's trust in Jack in 14x17 Game Night
Dean & Cas in season 15: doomed by too much faith in each other?
== Unpopular and/or controversial opinions ==
Dean would never say I Love You to ANYONE in those circumstances.
How Dean and Cas lost the thread of free will in SPN season 15
The incest jokes and innuendos are primarily about class disrespect
The argument that Cas has no parental authority over Jack (and Sam and Dean do)...doesn't hold up
Ben is not's Dean's son. Full stop.
Heaven is a war machine
Endverse Cas + The Nephilim-making Strategy
-> Contrarian takes:
Purgatory isn’t pure in the *good* sense; it’s a suicide trap and a black-and-white, unthinking world (long)
Cas actually DID check out naked Hannah (very long)
Cas has good reason to need forgiveness during the divorce arc...he is not blameless (long)
Does Chuck's female coding carry ill intent?
==Finale metas==
What if Dean dying on the rebar was an accidental manifestation of Chuck!God!Amara!Jack’s latent feelings? (long)
Searchin' for a rainbow + Cas's death + forbidden love (long)
== Funny thoughts ==
Jack + typewriter
Lebanon inhabitants + TFW fake jobs
Jack & Dean + nephilim eyesight + GERMS

== Random ideas ==
What if Cas's Enochian rib carvings affected Cas's abilities to hear Sam and Dean's prayers?
== SPNwin ==
There’s a lot of merit in being anti-destiny, anti-soulmate, anti-chosen-one, anti-Cupid, anti-mirrors/anti-parallels. (long)
Natural crisis points built into The Winchesters character arcs (long)
To be updated.

Sorry to bother you, my wife and I are working on making a Leonardo Da Vinci Caster cosplay for her and it's our first cosplay (I'm hoping to do a Warframe one eventually, but actual cloth costumes first)- do you have any advice on how to do details, etc? We seem to have the general shape of things down and already have the cloak & skirts done.
Ooh, Da Vinci! I'd say I'm still winging it with the fabric stuff; my experience is mostly with armor and props. If by details you mean stuff like the applique or something...

I did this for my sister a couple years back. Zhongli cosplay. Made pattern, cut fabric, applied clear nail polish to edges, pinned to base garment, used one of the buttonhole stitch settings on my sewing machine for the edges. I was improvising then. Something similar would probably be done on the stocking details, but I have no experience with stretchy fabric yet.
For the curvy edges... just. Lots of pins so they hold the shape while sewing.
The star patterns on the blue fabric... If it were me I'd just use a stencil and fabric paint if there's nowhere to buy it from. Several layers of it so the yellow looks good. However, the pattern might be generic enough that you can get fabric already printed with it somewhere.
The small accessories hanging from the collar (and hat depending on Ascension level)... small chains with gems... I'm not sure about your access to supplies so you might or might not have to make the gems and stuff yourself. Usually for these I use those rigid PVC sheets. Cut and whittle with cutters as needed. Maybe something like foam clay or resin stuff if you wanna be fancy. Put some thin wire hoops to attach them to the chains. Or you could use EVA foam here as well. 2mm. Also works with the fleur-de-lis looking brooch.
If Props:
Speaking of EVA foam... 5mm and 2mm thickness should cover all kinds of needs in this case. PVC piping for the staff. at this scale (and in most situations), contact cement for gluing together. Measure to proportion, make patterns, trace onto foam, cut with cutters. Make sure the blades are sharp for the smoothest cuts.
You can do a lot of stuff with EVA foam. So much stuff. If you plan on using it more in the future, I suggest getting a heat gun. Smooths out the foam. Priming before painting... I live in Japan so I use something like Zeque... rubber paint similar to Plastidip but much cheaper. For something much easier to get... Wood glue diluted with water, 3-4 coats of it or until satisfactory. Thin layers. Let previous layer dry before next one. This one's not flexible though - if the foam bends, wrinkles can't be avoided.
If Gauntlet:
5mm foam would probably be enough for the base gauntlet... or anything, really. Maybe 2mm foam for the smaller details. The gold filigree and trim detailing on the gauntlet... I'd paint them on. Paint those parts of the gauntlet gold first, have a pattern ready cut from some sticker paper of the details, put those on, paint the rest of the gauntlet. Once the dark blue paint dries, you can remove the sticker paper mask. The green bits... EVA foam as well, the final coat of paint would have to be something very glossy for the shine.
I'm not sure how you want to do the gauntlet. Will you keep the proportions, a.k.a. very big, or shrink it to fit the wearer's hand? Building it to proportion is more complicated - need to build a rig first that's fixed to the wearer's hand with something flexible for the core of the gauntlet digits, and string to pull the gauntlet digits. And since you'd hold the staff with the same hand, your hand has to be outside for the grip. Should be okay if the gauntlet digits are big enough to cover them.
If Staff:
The more organic-looking bits of the staff... I'd use foam clay, but if you think you can do it with just EVA foam, do that instead. Not sure how expensive foam clay is for you. Change your cutting angle to make sloped edges, trim with scissors - whatever works.
For ease of transport you may need to plan on splitting the staff in parts. Maybe the star, then the handle, then the bottom tip? Attachment might be complicated, so you may not want them detachable as well.
Clear plastic acetate for the star. This one's complicated. Hot glue could work. Lots of triangles. I'll just look this up if it were me. Don't be pressured to make this glow.
Not sure what else I can say about this unless you ask for something very specific, but I wish y'all well in this project!

At around the same time I was rediscovering my love for the vintage board game Acquire, I had also signed up for a membership at my local hackerspace (shoutout DenHac). The first tool I learned how to use there was the laser cutter. Laser cutters, while generally being highly automated and precise, still require a bit of fiddling. One of the first projects you do with a laser cut involves making a little diagnostic tool to show what a line or fill looks like at a given percentage of power & a particular speed & focus length. Looking at etched out, sunken engravings on this diagnostic tool, I thought to myself “I bet I could make an Acquire board like this.”
Some example lasercutting diagnostic tools
It was the perfect intro project for a laser cutter too. When working with laser cutters at the hackerspace, we all use a tool called Lightburn. A straightforward and intuitive piece of software, you’ll generally go through two types of usage loops with it.
The first step is design. Lasercutters primarily work from vector shapes and Lightburn includes numerous tools for creating, scaling, and shaping vectors. There’s also a built in text tool. So to make an Acquire board was a straightforward process of copy and pasting a bunch of 1x1” squares, framing a cutout around them, and then adding a second layer to etch in the letters & numbers.
Once you’re done with your design, then you get to deal with the more fiddly part of the process, fabrication. It’s exciting though, since this is where the laser meets the board. First, you need to check to make sure that you’ve got the right size piece of material under the laser by framing it. Then you’ve got to make sure your speed & power is set properly (otherwise what you want to be an “etch” may just cut clear through!) Lastly you hit run and babysit the machine to make sure it doesn’t catch on fire while it works. Laser cutting is a great hobby to have if you’re looking to catch up on your backlog of books.
Anyway, on my v1, I also had to cut out tiles to slot into the board. Part of what makes this a great starter project, is that it is really easy to repurpose the “etch” work into “cut” work. By copying over a layer and tweaking some power & speed variables, you’re good to go. It really helps clarify how you can get two completely different outcomes with the same core design, just by fiddling with some settings. From design to fabrication the whole project took probably 3 hours to execute.

My first ever lasercut game board
One of the other things I really enjoy about fabricating board games as a hobby, is the ability to iterate and polish on things as I go. When I finally was able to play a round with some friends on my v1 board, there were two immediate pieces of feedback.
First, the etched letters & numbers were hard to see against the etched out tile spots. Second, why not switch the letters and number axis to align with how spreadsheet software lays out cells?
The first piece of feedback was expected and highly localized to my fabrication method, but the second piece of feedback felt like a bolt of lightning. It was so clear and obvious when stated, and yet no one in the 60 years of production of the actual game seems to have thought about tweaking it. Anyway, both pieces of feedback were immediately incorporated into the current v2 board design.

The current v2 design
However, Acquire is more than just its board, there’s also a series of stock certificates & some money that need to be made as well, which I’ll go over my design and fabrication process for in future posts.

From Precision to Production: How Vinyl Cutters and Plotters Are Powering the Creative Industry
In today’s fast-paced world of design, signage, fashion, and crafting, vinyl cutters and plotters have emerged as indispensable tools. Whether you're a small business owner creating custom t-shirts or a professional sign maker producing intricate graphics, these machines offer a perfect balance of speed, accuracy, and versatility. But what exactly are they, how do they differ, and why are they becoming more popular than ever in 2025?
Understanding Vinyl Cutters and Plotters
At their core, both vinyl cutters and plotters are machines designed to cut or draw on materials such as vinyl, paper, or heat transfer film. A vinyl cutter uses a sharp blade to precisely slice through the surface of thin materials, primarily used for cutting decals, signs, labels, and heat transfers for apparel. A plotter, in contrast, is a more general term and may refer to devices that draw vector graphics with a pen or cut materials, depending on the model.
The distinction is narrowing in recent years as modern machines often serve dual functions, capable of both plotting and cutting with interchangeable tools.
The Rise in Popularity
One major factor behind the growth of vinyl cutters and plotters is the explosion of small businesses and DIY entrepreneurship. Platforms like Etsy, Amazon Handmade, and Shopify have enabled creators to sell custom products globally, fueling demand for tools that can produce professional-grade items at home or in small studios.
Additionally, affordability and accessibility have improved. Where once vinyl cutting machines were limited to industrial use, today’s models come in compact sizes, with user-friendly software, and are priced for hobbyists as well as professionals.
Applications Across Industries
The applications for vinyl cutters and plotters span numerous industries:
Signage and Advertising: From storefront lettering to car decals, vinyl cutters are a staple for creating clean, weather-resistant graphics.
Fashion and Apparel: Heat transfer vinyl (HTV) can be cut and applied to garments for custom clothing, uniforms, or branded merchandise.
Crafting and DIY: Crafters use these machines for scrapbooking, home décor, and gift-making.
Education: Schools and colleges are integrating vinyl cutters into design and technology programs, giving students hands-on experience with digital fabrication tools.
Features That Matter
Modern vinyl cutters and plotters come equipped with advanced features such as:
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Connectivity for wireless design transfer.
Precision Cutting with optical sensors for alignment.
Dual Tool Capability, allowing for cutting and sketching in one go.
Cloud-Based Design Software with thousands of templates and font options.
These features make the machines both powerful and user-friendly, even for beginners.
The Future of Creative Production
As customization becomes the new standard in product design, tools like vinyl cutters and plotters are shaping the future of creative production. Businesses can now prototype, personalize, and produce with speed and precision—without needing massive equipment or large production runs.
In conclusion, vinyl cutters and plotters have transcended their original roles as niche tools. They are now central to a growing movement of makers, artists, and entrepreneurs who value quality, creativity, and control. Whether you’re producing one item or a thousand, these machines are proving that the future of design is both digital and personal.

Welding Electrode Malaysia
Essential Welding Tools for Modern Fabrication in Malaysia: What Professionals Should Know
As industries in Malaysia continue to expand, the demand for high-quality metalwork has never been more pressing. From construction and automotive to aerospace and manufacturing, welding plays a crucial role in infrastructure and product development. Whether you’re building structural components or fabricating detailed metal parts, having the right equipment is critical to success.
In this guide, we’ll explore the most important welding tools used by professionals today, from high-precision welders to cutting-edge metal cutters. If you’re seeking reliable and efficient tools in Malaysia, here’s everything you need to know.
TIG Welding Machine Malaysia: Precision Welding for Complex Applications
If your work involves stainless steel, aluminum, or non-ferrous metals, precision and control are paramount. That’s where a TIG welding machine in Malaysia becomes indispensable.
TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding is widely used in aerospace, automotive repair, pipe welding, and fabrication jobs that require clean and aesthetically appealing welds. It offers better control over the heat and allows you to weld thin materials without distortion.
Why TIG Welding Is Preferred:
Produces clean, high-quality welds
Allows greater precision and arc control
Ideal for welding non-ferrous and thin materials
Low spatter and minimal post-weld cleanup
In Malaysian industries, TIG welding machines are trusted for their accuracy, especially in sectors where weld quality is non-negotiable.
Welding Electrode Malaysia: The Core of Manual Welding Processes
No welding setup is complete without the right consumables, and welding electrodes in Malaysia are among the most essential. An electrode carries current through a workpiece to fuse two metals together. Depending on your project, choosing the appropriate electrode is critical to achieving strong and clean welds.
Welding electrodes are commonly used in shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), a process often employed in construction, pipeline welding, and maintenance jobs. The right electrode can improve arc stability, penetration, and weld strength.
Factors to Consider:
Base metal type and thickness
Required tensile strength
Welding position (flat, vertical, overhead)
AC or DC welding compatibility
High-quality electrodes reduce spatter, enhance penetration, and result in a consistent arc—key features sought after in Malaysian fabrication projects.
Welding Filler Metal Malaysia: Strengthening Weld Joints with the Right Material
For TIG, MIG, and brazing applications, the welding filler metal in Malaysia plays a vital role in ensuring joint strength and structural integrity. A filler metal is the material added during welding that fuses with the base metal to create a strong bond.
The success of a weld depends not only on the welder’s skill but also on the compatibility of the filler material with the base metal. A mismatched filler metal can cause poor fusion, corrosion, and eventual failure.
Types of Filler Metals Available:
TIG welding rods (for manual feed)
MIG wire spools (for semi-automatic welding)
Brazing alloys (for lower-temp applications)
Whether you're building pipelines, automotive frames, or stainless steel furniture, selecting the right filler material ensures long-lasting results. Auweld offers a wide range of filler metals tailored to industry standards in Malaysia.
Welding Accessories Malaysia: The Unsung Heroes of Workshop Efficiency
While machines and consumables get most of the spotlight, welding accessories in Malaysia are what make any operation smooth and safe. These tools, though often overlooked, are essential to ensuring high-quality welds and protecting both the welder and the workpiece.
From safety gear to welding torches, clamps, cable connectors, and gas regulators, accessories help with proper alignment, control, and safety during the welding process.
Essential Accessories Include:
Auto-darkening welding helmets
Ground clamps and cable lugs
Electrode holders and torch kits
Fire-resistant gloves and aprons
Anti-spatter spray and wire brushes
Investing in the right accessories enhances productivity, protects workers, and extends the life of your welding machines and consumables. In Malaysia’s competitive industrial landscape, quality accessories are a must.
Plasma Cutting Machine Malaysia: Cutting Metal with Speed and Accuracy
When it comes to slicing through metal quickly and cleanly, nothing beats a plasma cutting machine in Malaysia. Using an accelerated jet of hot plasma, this tool cuts through conductive materials like steel, stainless steel, and aluminum with ease.
Plasma cutters are used extensively in shipbuilding, HVAC, auto repair, and metal fabrication. They offer high-speed, precision cutting and are more cost-effective than traditional oxy-fuel cutting methods.
Advantages of Plasma Cutting:
Faster than conventional methods
Narrow kerf width for precision
Minimal heat-affected zone (HAZ)
Cuts through rusted, painted, or dirty metals
Malaysian workshops rely on plasma cutting machines for consistent, clean cuts that require little to no post-processing. They’re also compatible with CNC systems for automated cutting tasks.
What to Look for in Professional Welding Tools
Selecting welding equipment in Malaysia should be based on a combination of factors:
Material type: Steel, stainless, aluminum, etc.
Thickness of metal: Influences machine amperage and filler metal
Work environment: Indoor vs. outdoor, field vs. shop
Volume of work: Occasional repair vs. industrial-scale production
Budget and ROI: Long-term reliability over short-term cost savings
Always choose reputable suppliers like Auweld, who not only offer reliable products but also provide excellent after-sales support, technical guidance, and access to essential accessories and spare parts.
