I make these notes as I work on an episode, however, people have been so attentive and observant with their comments that I started a tag fragments feedback where we dive even deeper into themes and interactions in the comic. These comments are a blessing, often pointing out things that my own brain doesn't register.

Obligatory ShB spoiler warning.

Episode 27 begins with a chat about the original weapons that are merely a stylish-looking convenience for them ic and for me ooc, so that I don't have to draw them lugging their weapons around.

Essentia's just a name for Vivi's spear, not like the whole concept. I introduced it around the beginning of the ShB arc. Alisaie's weapons have no name yet, there's a possibility to do something cute referring to twins.. I shall think of it :3c

Look at this child being all smug for having been able to help recreating something previously thought unique, and, um, flirting.. In her own way.....

Vivi be like, sigh, "ah, back on her bs already... Better indulge her while she's still in a nice mood".

Alisaie's left arm's stronger than both Vivi's. As a dragoon he doesn't only use magic to amplify his jumps, if it works on legs, why not extend it to arms as well? Not unlike what monks do, minus the actual physical training. Basically he cheats with magic in real fights. A casual friendly duel isn't worth expending aether, so he only relies on his actual strength :'>

He also can't do friendly duels because his Echo only telegraphs hostile attacks. A friend would stop before his blade cuts him, so Vivi's kinda blind, only relying on his own average skill. A legendary hero that's no fun to spar with if you're remotely competent.

..Which has no negative effect on Exarch's fanboyism.

Several people said they look forward to said sparring session, and I felt like I failed them because I had no plans to follow through with this. Then I thought some more.. Do we mean every little thing we say or think? Sometimes it's just distracted nonsense. If every action and word were hooks/setups for the story, it'd feel artificial. This's just my opinion, but some scenes have to have idle chatter and musings for realism.

Vivi and Alphi look like door-to-door salesmen, yet the Chais are buying multiples of whatever they sell.

A random thing that thematically belongs here, but didn't make it in the comic: Vivi ended up being more freaked out by Eulmore than Amh Araeng.

Feo "privacy breach" Ul :> They greet each other so casually that it's clear, this's far from being the first time.

One of my personal fav panels so far. People loved the "crystal mystel" so much but I can't take credit for that! My brain's full of soup that's a mix of everything canon and my own generous additions, but I THINK one of the pixies calls him that ingame, sometime post 5.0.

You probably didn't know that you needed more Exarch and Feo Ul interactions till now, I've got you covered. Their scenes will take time to trickle in, but they EXIST and go back as far as their first meeting.

Exactly what happened.

One more episode where Vivi doesn't utter a word, but it doesn't feel like that.

Tank!Exarch fanclub, +1 member. Vivi's pleasantly surprised by the sudden shift in Exarch's demeanor. He genuinely admires him here. "Lead me anywhere daddy".

Ready for a guild wars 1 (one!) joke? No? I'm making it anyway. Lyna casts gaze of contempt (effect: removes enchantments on target foe)

She's such a good daughter with great intuition. She feels uneasy about this way before Vivi feels anything at all. He just looks. Perceives. He has eyes, dammit! And Exarch has those stupid sexy sandals and shiny crystal arm and stylish flowy robes and he's generally kinda cool? It's official, it has begun: Vivi's attracted to Exarch here.

A closeup for the hell of it C: His eyes have a natural faint glow that's just there, it doesn't mean anything, like, genuinely.

Vivi tries to appease Lyna. He has no idea why she keeps glaring at him, probably still not trusting a stranger. He uses his charm as a casual manipulation. Unfortunately, Lyna falls for it. For now.

As per msq, Exarch's kneeling, not collapsing (although that would've been just as fitting tbh). While still not trusting him too much, Vivi slowly begins to respect a reputable ruler and a skilled fighter, and WHY IS HE KNEELING MY LORD GET UP?! Vivi hates being treated like some sort of a messiah. That pushes him further inside the box of being a mythical figure, and denies his humanity.

Normal colors and lighting!! For one episode....

The scene on the left isn't meant to feel cozy and inviting, while the right one is. Sickly, cold, washed out colors vs darker and warmer ones. I'm putting a lot of thought into this, just wanted to celebrate it a lil C:

Episodes 28-29 show Vivi and Exarch's ways of handling unexpected personal hostility. Vivi casually whips out a V and a silly grin, while Exarch.....

He tried, okay?!

A thing on their positioning in this scene that I didn't plan consciously, it just happened: Exarch's framed by the Crystarium, appearing more aligned with it, while the elf pile's surrounded by an idyllic natural frame. Something something about the greenery meaning life, and Exarch looking a bit out of place here.

This's our first, but not last encounter of an imagination theater :>

The dragons are goofy on purpose. Well, sort of. I can count on one hand the amount of times I drew non-humanoid creatures, and the tone here doesn't demand anything super serious from me. Also it makes sense in-character, Exarch probably never saw a dragon up close.

Take a good look at this lil shit. I indulged in illustrating his badass moment before pointing the "camera" away for a while. We're heading into the Il Mheg arc that lasts for months and has no cats ;w;

Also, Ryne. Just to keep your expectations grounded: while I personally like her, she has no relevance in this story, and very little screentime. I'm currently having Eden raid brainworms, might write a scene or two related to that, but we're talking many years into the future. Until then, she doesn't do much.

ShB cast's diverse and extremely fun to explore, but if I went on tangents the comic would literally never progress. Gotta be honest, I'm already terrified that some readers might drift away before reaching the wolgraha part of this wolgraha comic. I don't wanna rush OR dilute the main plot too much, if that makes sense. Also, just like in real life, you probably don't form perfect connections with every member of your social circle, some people grow closer than others. Vivi has next to no connection to Minfilia/Ryne, he also stays away from little girls after one of those ended up becoming his lifelong problem *snorts and points at Alisaie*

Desires, and feasting on them? A dungeon meshi nod? More likely than you think.

Feo Ul, sprawled out on his chest like that, visually resembles a burning heart.

Imagine loving your pet so much that you let him do this. Feo Ul isn't moved by the physical act AND the joking accusation.

While seemingly slacking for a dozen episodes, Vivi formed bonds with Feo Ul and Ardbert, and thus secured the future of the two stars. Now he has friends that aren't his coworkers first and foremost, that he genuinely wants to fight for. This's what makes him tick as a hero: a quiet plea of a friend, not even asking him directly, a stark contrast to being dragged around and cried at for help. If Vivi's introduction to an entity (person/group of people) is "they suffer, they need help", he shrugs it off. Everyone suffers and needs help, he can't split into thousands of vivis to please them all.

He's only truly motivated to help, or empathizes with those who he gets to know through other means. Take Ardbert, his strange behavior on the Source, then reintroduction that's confusion and companionable snark, but not wailing for help. And Feo Ul, they hang out with him just because, they're safe.

He may not run off to fight the local Lightwarden this instant, but when he gets around to it, he's earnest for a change.

Eren, even at 7 years old, never much cared for the beach.

The ocean was salty, so it wasn’t even that fun to swim in. The sand got everywhere, irritating his mood easily as it rubbed his skin raw. His insides despised feeling the rough sand. Jellyfish washed up all over the beaches so you had to watch your step if you didn’t want to get stung. Dead or not, they still can sting. Eren unfortunately learned the hard way, like many other annoying attributes, vacationing to the coast.

Eren wished his grandparents didn’t live in a beach house. Eren wished his mother didn’t love said beach house so much.

Carla looked forward to the annual summer trip more than anyone else. Grisha had similar gripes as Eren about the beach. However, his father was just far more kosher about it. But that’s to be expected, Eren is only 7 years old, after all. Maturity would come in due time.

Still, that didn’t deter Eren’s need to mope and groan as much as he deemed necessary. “Come on, honey.” His mother had dragged him out to the beachside early that afternoon.

His dad stayed behind to help grandma cook some dinner. They were day one into their stay with Carla’s parents. Grandpa worked as a custodian and would be off in time for supper.

Carla forced Eren out of his whining debacle and lugged him toward the sand. “Please, just give it one more try, Eren. I know the ocean will grow on you, I just know it.”

He groaned and his face shifted into repulse at the feeling of sand in his sandals, nearly encouraging him to recoil back towards the beach house. “Mom, I hate this.” He complained, flinging his arms melodramatically.

Carla peeks over her shoulder with a stern look. She chastised him with a shake of her index finger. “Hate is a strong word, Eren.”

The boy rolls his eyes, the corner of his lips twisted down. “Yeah, well. I mean it.”

His mom ignored him. She found herself a spot in the sand. She ordered him to go explore while she sun bathed. He tried to argue with her but Carla was immune to his emotionally kid-like manipulative tactics when she was in such a mood. She simply waved a shoo-ing hand in his direction. Eren huffed and crossed his arms as he twisted around to stomp away. The sand was already driving him mad.

Eren kicks at the tiny minerals as he tracks around a corner of rocks. His pace stayed steady. He keeps walking, not paying much attention to how far he migrates into a groove of some trees and large rocks on the sand shore.

There’s another large bend and suddenly he found himself at a cavern looking boulder with an indented opening.

Fascinated, he approached the inside of the cavern, not caring that he was now submerged in the crystal blue water of the sea. There was a divet in the small space where the sun can cast its fluorescent rays upon the glasslike waters. To get under that spot, he would have to swim.

Taking a big breath, Eren could barely handle how bad the salt stung his eyes. He pushed through it, though. When he resurfaced, it was with a large gulp of air. It was another few strokes away Eren so kept trudging through the burn of the salt water. His head barely makes it to the destination he’d been gunning for when his skull crashed into something hard, something that oddly enough, reminded him of another human skull.

Rushedly to the surface, he winced at the ache from where he knocked his head. When Eren looked up, he couldn’t be sure what exactly he expected but it sure wasn't another human that greeted him.

Gobsmacked and startled, the boy scrambled to slosh away from the creature, who looked to be female. She held her head in her hands, her face pinched in pain. She groaned, “Ow! That hurt!”

Eren couldn’t care to focus on her complaints, couldn’t be bothered to be impressed she spoke so fluently. He was too busy observing what she was. Her skin was shiny, looking iridescent in the direct sunlight. She had long raven hair with bangs that hung in her face. But that wasn’t what ultimately grabbed his attention. It was the swishing shimmering blue tail the girl had. It kept peeking and rippling at the surface of the water as she withered from bumping heads into Eren. He blurted the first thought that managed to pass his lips.

“What are you, a mermaid?” The sentence sounded accusatory instead of factual.

The girl stopped, peering at him over her shoulder looking mildly unimpressed. “Well, duh.” She nonchalantly replied, looking at him as if he was stupid.

Where Has My Underwear Gone? OP Men Edition: Portgas D. Ace

Date Night with Ace and Marco! Reader is AFAB and a Devil Fruit user. Reader is in a poly relationship with Marco and Ace. Probably swearing, definitely smut, female body parts, male body parts, so much dick. Explicit language. Minors DNI!

Date night! This was something special, something you and your boyfriends didn't often manage with the responsibilities of two Division Commanders, plus Marco being the Moby Dick's ship doctor, plus the trips Ace took on behalf of Whitebeard, and now, your promotion to Maintenance Division Commander. That was one of the reasons for the celebration. More responsibility, yes, but given the fact you were the user of the Mend Mend no Mi, it only made sense. You'd learned enough about repair and maintaining the gigantic vessel with your hands as well as your Devil Fruit to take over from Blenheim and allow him to move to other duties.

So here you were in a fancy ass hotel lobby with Marco, both of you wearing your best fancy ass attire, at Ace's direction. Marco was looking absolutely delectable in his dark charcoal suit with a burgundy dress shirt, for once button closed and not displaying his very admirable torso, pants cut to fit almost too well, shiny black shoes a distracting contrast to the sandals he usually wore. He'd even slicked his blond sprout of hair back somehow and with his heavy lidded eyes he looked very much like the image of some gangster boss in a manga. He was a doctor, but even dressed up to the hit, he couldn't shake that aura of I AM A PIRATE. Said pirate glanced down and you and smiled. “Like what you see? You're looking even more lovely than usual, yoi.”

Marco took your hand in his, stepping back a pace to appreciate your own fancied-up appearance. Your hair was combed and sleek and piled up, adorned with glimmering combs of gold and diamond and pearl, The dress was a honey colored satin that went beautifully with your skin, one shoulder left bare, the other graced with a strap set with matching diamonds and pearls. The lights of the lobby gleamed down the satin that hugged your form just right, the sweep of it adding to the overall image of luxury and opulence. You wore actual heels for once, strappy things that peeked out from the satin with an echo of pearl and glint of white diamond fire. Your wrist and ears were adorned with the same metal and gems: diamonds of varying size set in lush gold with pearls gleaming in the settings. You were also a pirate, after all, and enjoyed the chance to show off some of your plunder. At your throat was a fine chain of gold, nearly invisible, holding the most precious piece of jewelry you owned.

The pendant was of a gold nearly orange color holding three gems: a bright blue sapphire, a deep red ruby, and a pearl of twilight purple between them. It had take Ace and Marco a long time to find that pearl even with access to the chests of them Pops collected. It was, they had decided, a perfect color for you, rare and exotic and carrying shades of both the other jewels in its luster. You only wore it on the most special of occasions and time when you felt sure it was in no danger or harm nor pillage, though really, on Marco's arm, there weren't many safer places to be. He drew you in and kissed the back of your hand fondly, then turned it over to press warm lips to your pulse point. He knew very well how to get that pulse moving and you grinned up at him, other hand smoothing over his lapel.

“Behave yourself, Commander. We're supposed to be somewhere in just a few minutes. I still wonder what our Ace has gotten up to this time. Not that I'm complaining, you understand.” You let your arm be tucked into Marco's as he led you towards the sweep of elegant stairs, lit by a ridiculously intricate crystal chandelier. “I wonder how much he paid for this, or if he just threatened to burn it to the ground if they didn't give him a suite?” Even with the Phoenix's support you were having to be careful to negotiate the stairs in heels with the dress clinging to your legs too closely.

“I hope he just paid since I don't want to be interrupted and have to fight off the constabulary yoi.” Marco's hand "accidentally" slipped down the pretty satin from your hip to your butt. "Why, Y/N, I'm shocked yoi. Are you bare under that scandalous gown?!" He sounded just shocked beyond all propriety.. but his voice had dropped and his hand was nearly radiating heat. The glance you shot up at the handsome doctor through your lashes was amused and irritated. You had to pause as he reluctantly left the supple curve of your butt to produce a key from his pocket and open the closed door that faced you. A dark glossy wood, brass fittings and an elegant letter A.

"I think you know very well why I'm not wearing anything under my dress, Marco. It's all gone. Every stitch! All of my pretty underwear is missing.  Everything else is there! Garters, stockings, bras, corsets, every other piece that either you or Ace has given me is gone. I'm not wearing my business underpants with this dress, Birdie." You gestured up and down yourself, directing his attention to the dress and the shoes and the stockings and the hair and the makeup and the jewelry and the everything. Even the perfume, as you drew your wrist slowly under his sensitive Zoan nose. You smirked as his bright blue eyes dilated under his heavy lids. Zoan users were so easy to tease. You twirled away from his grabby hand by opening the door and stepping into.. wow.

With hips swagging and heels clicking against the steps the waitress makes her way to the VIP lounge that's overlooking the crowd downstairs where some important men are relaxing, swiftly she hands out the drinks they ordered at the same time a man walks into the nightclub. Wearing a leather jacket and shades inside isn't what caught the attention of the iceberg blue eyes but it's when he sits on a couch in a corner that's been empty for a while only for people to start crowding him once he's comfortable.

"Tell us everything you know about that man." The pink haired man order after pulling the Beta waitress into his lap and points to who he's talking about while catching the others attention.

"That's Vos, he's one of the regular drug dealers though he only shows on Saturdays but still popular with customers for always selling the best." She slips out after hiding her fear quick enough that no one can smell it.

"I don't remember him, how long as he been selling here?" The owner of the nightclub questions her after giving her a blank glance before going back to staring at the dealer.

"Longer then I have so about a year or two." Happy with the information the light purple colored mullet owner slips a bill into her pocket when the other similar hair styled man let her up off his lap.

"Be a sweetheart and bring him to us." She quickly nods before speed walking out of the room.

"What'd you think? Should we hire him to work for us?" The nightclub owner asked his leader that sitting in a dark corner alone and saw everything that happened, his white undercut hair style falls from his face when he tile his head to the ceiling.

"We'll see what he has to offer first." With that the owner turns back to the large window to watch the waitress speck to the dealer before gesturing to the VIP lounge which he can see him nod and followed her back.

"Have a seat" The guy followed the order as soon as he's stand before them and they take notice of the absence of his ABO scent which they can clearly see is hidden by a scent blocker patch over his gland like many others in the lounge.

"Empty your pockets." The pink haired man ordered and not wanting any beef with these guy he does as ordered under the watchful iceberg blue eyes as he plays with a his gun, many small bags falls on the table.

"What's this?" He examine the small black crystal like drug before watching me pull out a small note pad with a pen and quickly write on it.

~Black crystal; made it myself, even though it's high to buy but to some it's worth it to feel great without any major side effects plus everything else I got is the best.~

"Let us figure that out." Sandals slap against the shiny and slick floor as approaches us from his seat in the dark corner.

"Sanzu, you know what to do." He takes the empty seat next to the pink haired man after gesturing to him which he get a nod in return before grabbing all the small bags and left.

"Who's your supplier?" A tall man with light purple and black slick back hair stands behind me and he give me a smile when we connect eyes after his boss asked his question.

~ None, I get everything myself. As the saying goes, do everything yourself~

"Mmmm, if you're as good as people say I might hire you to work for me but that really depends on the quality you sell and if it's not....well I 'kindly' ask you to never show your face around here again, you got that?" I nod in agreement before writing the most obvious question down.

"Anything you can think of really, more money, people, fancy clothes, other things that you might want." The nightclub owner answered my question after standing next to the taller man making me realize that these two are related.

"But you got time to make your mind, come back here next Saturday by then I've made my decision...... don't go running now!" The white hair leader called after me before I could leave the lounge, I just give them nod on my way out and completely left the nightclub with empty pockets of cash I would usual have on Saturdays but I'm not worried about it. With time I return to my flat, after throwing the lather jacket onto the couch and the sunglasses on the counter I pull off the scent blocker patch to throw it away in the trash. Not really like wearing these things in my own home, with a glass of water in hand I stroll to my room where I open a secret door with a fake light switch and softly close it behind me. Taking a sip from the glass before sitting it on the table and sit in the chair, with some concentration I held out my tongue to reveal a pill laying on it where I place it in a jar filled with the same kind of drug.

As long as I can remember I always had this ability to create drugs out of my mouth and no matter it's a pill,powder, liquid, or gas as long as I know the ingredients for it I can create it, it also effected my voice causing me to become a mute or I'll get everyone around me high. I continue on resupply what I lost at the nightclub but luckily that only side effect I get from using it so much is cotton mouth.

I LOVE THEM! :(

I swear I'm in love with my own headcanon (if EAH got a reboot) that Sparrow and Meeshell would be best friends! Siblings! I can just imagine her with black eye shadow and a few black streaks of hair (I want her hair to be shades of light blue and white instead of pink. Not like darling) while holding a microphone with shiny pale pink lips singing her heart out on a stage with beautiful pale baby blue lights behind her while wearing this long shiny dark (not too dark) green/teal mermaid tail skirt (Similar to the one she already wears) but with a long slit on her left with sliver open toed high heel sandals (up to her ankles) with her regular top but it's different shades of light blue. The coral looks like crystal while the outline of the other designs are white. And her shell sleeves are sliver. Her skin looks so slivery and pale, almost grey-like, but so beautiful while Sparrow and the rest of the band play behind her!

This week's featured Disney hotel is Disney's All-Star Music! For this outfit, I drew inspiration from the world of music using a mix of pop and rock. The rock-inspired section of the hotel, which features a giant jukebox, caught my eye, and I also took cues from the glamorous and shiny outfits worn by Taylor Swift on her recent tour for a pop vibe.

For this pop-inspired look, I knew I had to include a leather jacket. I wanted to find something that would make a statement and stand out in a crowd. While a classic James Dean-style jacket was an option, I decided to go with a more feminine approach. I found a beautiful cropped jacket with puffed sleeves that caught my eye immediately. It was love at first sight, and I knew it would be the perfect addition to my outfit.

To elaborate further on the pop music theme, I selected a stunning dress that has a beautiful, glittery pink color that catches the light in a dazzling way. It also flounces with every dance move, making you feel like a true pop star. To complete the look, I paired the dress with a pair of phenomenal Brandon Maxwell sandals. These sandals have a twisted heel that adds an extra touch of fun and playfulness to the outfit.

The clutch, shaped like a vinyl record, is a clear reference to the classic rock era represented by the hotel’s jukebox, while the sunglasses add to the rockabilly look started by the leather jacket.

The final two accessories are the choker and the hair bow. The choker's gem colours complement the dress and shoes, while the nearly pewter-coloured metal matches the edgy side of the outfit. The black color of the bow complements the leather jacket, while the sparkling crystals give it a touch of glamour to match the shiny dress.
