I gotta say.....I do not care about joining a faction other than how it sets up my rp choices.

Like if it's like DAO's origins and choosing it gives you a clear idea of who your character is in the world, I'll love that!

But if its more like, say DnD 5e or pillars of eternity, where you choose a background for flavor but they're more there for mechanical perks (depending on your DM tbf) thats going to frustrate me. And the fact that so far game informer has mostly talked about the mechanical perks is making me nervous.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of ME's or DAI's method of choosing a background and then slowly uncovering details about it either. You don't get enough context for rp in the beginning, and then if you do craft a backstory for your character, details you find out about them later can ruin the story you already made. It sounds like they're doing something similar in DAV, and I'm just hoping they give us something meatier in the beginning to make up for it.

For some reason whenever I brainstorm for my eventual solasmance Lavellan I always imagine her leaving on bad terms with him and swearing to stop him no matter what it takes. However. Just had the idea of Lavellan solas and Varric being in a weird love triangle. during inquisiton only Solas and Lavellan would happen, then They break up and Lavellan is with Varric within a year. Queen of moving on or whatever. Cole gets dropped right in the middle of whatever the fuck they've got going on. Rest of the inquisiton is immensely intrigued by them

okay I looked at the article 😭 I want to know enough to make an informed decision as a consumer but little enough to have fun speculating; combat news is allowed

maybe it'll make more sense when we start seeing later-game content but three active skills + being down a companion + companion skill progression being intrinsic to bond advancement feels like a step backwards

im NOT getting invested in dragon age until i see the gameplay and figure out if solas is killable. however if the game gives me a nonbinary player option and makes the rogues more fun than inquisition well. those would really make my day
