there are so many! but “Ruby Blue” by Roisin Murphy is the goddamn grooviest song ever written on the whole planet. i can’t not wiggle my stupid little butt anytime it comes on.

12: a song from your preteen years

i want to preface this with an explanation. my family was very religious (my father was the minister) so i did not hardly listen to any good secular music almost ever. so by all rights this song should be something by like the Newsboys or dcTalk or whatever. but NO. it WON’t be! because one time on the radio when i was like 11 or 12 on our way to somewhere in central Alberta, “Just Like a Pill” by P!nk came on the radio and i was OBSESSED. i LOVED it. i will love early P!nk forever until i die. anyways now i use this song as my alarm for when i have to take my birth control pill.

18: a song from the year that you were born

oh fuck yeah. yes. i am certain there are many many more songs from 1989 that are worth putting on here that i simply didn’t know are from said year, but i have two songs that i must share. 1) because The Bangles are brilliant goddesses of pop rock, “Eternal Flame”. 2) because i got the album on vinyl for surprisingly cheap, Madonna’s “Like a Prayer”and frig but that song still fucking whips.
