Today is Dracula Day! This is the anniversary of the publication of the novel Dracula, published May 26th, 1897.

It also happens to be the birthday of the late Peter Cushing, who played Dr. Van Helsing in multiple Hammer horror movies, including Dracula (1958) AKA Horror of Dracula, Brides of Dracula, Dracula 72' AD, Satanic Rites of Dracula AKA Dracula's Vampire Bride, The Seven Golden Vampires. The character Peter Vincent in the 1985 Fright Night and it's 1988 sequel, Fright Night: Part 2, is named for both Peter Cushing and Vincent Price. The late Vincent Price's birthday happens to be tomorrow along with Christopher Lee's Birthday, who happened to play Dracula to Peter Cushing's Dr. Van Helsing.
