"yeah but.. I just feel like have to be sorry, for confessing my love, for wanting more than just.. this" you answer, holding back your tears.

she places her hand on your back, slowly rubbing circles on it. Her book in her lap completly forgotten.

"don't think about it like that" she says, her voice calming. You look at her as she takes your hand in hers, fingers intertwined.

"say it and I'm yours" she adds with a quiet tone.

it's not a order - not something you need to do.

but rather a wish - something she wants you to do, something she hopes you will do.

"i love you momo" you say, your eyes not leaving hers.

she lets out a small giggle, even blushing a little.

"i love you too" she replies, closing the distance between you two as she connects your lips with hers.

it feels soft, and good, just perfect.

a kiss full of love, not heated, something relaxing.

as you two part, you feel something on your pinky finger.

you look down -

a small, red thread around it.

as well as on momo's finger.

"seems like we found our soulmate" momo says and giggles.

when someone's born, there is a red thread that is tied to them,

it was a particularly busy sunday evening. the bustling environment in the restaurant simmered down as the faint sound of a piano filled the room.

you were busy waiting on tables in the main dining area as well, constantly on the move to attend to every customer.

“i heard we got a new saturday player.. they finally let poor john rest,” your coworker said.

john was an older gentleman — he was a lounge pianist at the restaurant for about 9 years.

he genuinely loved spending his weekends there, but he was growing weaker at his age, unable to hit the right keys or play the right notes anymore.

you swiftly picked up a tray full of dishes that the cook handed you, “aw, really? i’ll actually kinda miss john.. he was a sweetheart,” you said, slightly disheartened, but glad that he was getting the rest that he deserved.

you wondered who the new player could be, but the three tables waiting for your attention cut your curiosity short.

as you made your way to a seated couple in the lounge area, you subtly glanced over to the stage to catch a glimpse of the newbie.

a.. woman?, you thought.

you couldn’t see much of this unexpected woman in the quick glance that you took — her dark, long, wavy hair draped over her shoulder.

it was a refreshing change to see a new person on the stage for once — nothing against sweet old john, but it was just time for a new set of songs.

quickly taking their order, you excused yourself and made your way back to the kitchen, purposely taking the route that would get you as close to the stage as possible.

the melody that she played grew louder as you approached her, the skill practically bouncing off her fingertips.

you held the notepad tightly in your hand as you passed by the grand piano, tracking the woman with your head locked onto observing her features.

woah, was all you could think of as you finally saw her face — her glowing skin, a faint smile on her lips, and her captivating eyes.

the woman felt you staring at her and took her eyes off of her note sheet to meet yours.

she smiled wide at you, making you nearly collide with another waiter, your head never once turning away from her.

“oh shit- sorry!” you apologized, reluctantly peeling your eyes away to plead with your coworker not to kill you.

a few hours passed and your shift finally ended.

you punched in your code to clock out of the system in the back, deeply sighing out as you stretched your back and waited for the computer to load.

the restaurant was fairly empty at that point, the late hours creeping up on the corporate workers that came in to relax before a long week of work.

you grabbed your backpack and headed out to leave, still hearing the entrancing sounds coming from the ambient lounge.

stopping in your tracks, you decided against leaving right away and traipsed your way over to the entrance of the lounge hall.

she was still up there playing away, her smile never fading.

you made your way over to an empty couch towards the middle and set your things down, taking a seat and immediately feeling yourself relax.

the way she swayed along slightly with the music and gracefully moved her hands on the keys made your tired lips curl into a slight smile. you could see the passion and love she had for music in the way she tenderly played every note with precision.

every once in a while, the woman would look over her shoulder at you and smile, almost like she was checking on you.

time passed by in the blink of an eye — what felt like five minutes quickly turned into thirty.

you were the only one left in the lounge now, the once busy night turning into a quiet and peaceful one.

the woman ended her last song with a drawn out riff, sitting up straight and stretching her wrists from fatigue.

you followed her action and took your chin out of the hand you had rested on your knee, sitting up slowly.

you were contemplating if you should sneak out before she thinks you’re weird for watching her that long, or if you should just stay and talk to this pretty, pretty lady.

ultimately, you decided on the former, grabbing your bag and quietly shuffling your way to the exit.

“wait! i- i just-” the woman blurted, shooting up from the bench and frantically stepping down the small stairs on the front of the stage.

you froze and snapped your head in her direction, anticipating a creeped out response.

her high heels thumped against the velvet carpet, “i just wanted to say thank you for.. staying.”

she was face to face with you now — fidgeting with the ends of her black dress and beaming at you with nothing except gratitude in her eyes.

you gripped the strap of your backpack hanging on your right shoulder as she came closer to you, praying you didn’t stink of any food or worse.

“y-yeah, it was nothing really. i enjoyed watching you or- not watching you i just really enjoyed your performance.. skills… yeah,” you stuttered, tripping over your own jumbled words under her gaze.

she let out a small laugh at your shyness, squinting and smiling with her pretty eyes, “well, i’m glad you enjoyed it,” she held out her hand, “i’m dahyun. it’s actually my first night here!”

you took her hand and introduced yourself with a firm handshake, “nice to meet you dahyun, i’m y/n,” you said with a returned smile, “how often do you plan on playing here?”

“i actually took up all the weekend spots. i think it’s more fun to play when people come with a work stress-free mind anyways,” she said, dropping her hand from your grasp and reaching it up to tuck her hair behind her ear.

how convenient — it just so happens that you worked the night shifts every weekend.

“yeah? the boss must really like you then. it’s not common for him to have an artist play consecutively like that.”

you wondered just how talented dahyun was for your boss to take her on so often.

dahyun nodded, “i guess so.. i just played a song for him one day and he signed me on for all weekends!” she said with another bright smile.

“how can you even play so well? seriously, i’m amazed at how talented you are on that piano.”

she hesitated to answer, giggling and turning her head down, “well.. how about i show you?”

you waited for her to look back up at you, “i would love that.”

dahyun excitedly turned and headed back up on the stage, sliding her way to the left side of the bench.

you soon followed behind her, dropping your backpack at the edge of the piano and scooting in next to her on the right.

at this distance, you could smell the floral perfume she used and felt the coldness of her skin when her arm grazed yours.

“so you see this key right here?” she pointed in front of you, “just press down on it like this,” she pressed the key rhythmically every couple beats, making sure you followed her tempo.

you hummed in agreement and practiced on your own, looking over at her for approval.

surprisingly, she was already looking at you — her eyes filled with adoration.

“exactly like that, you got it!” she said, positioning her hands to play a slow melody.

the impromptu duet between you two echoed against the walls of the empty lounge, mixed laughter and giggles erupting from both of you.

you helped dahyun by pressing your assigned key at the right time, watching as her fingers danced along the white tiles.

her presence was warm — calming almost. you felt comfortable being around her even though you’d just barely met her a couple hours ago.

after another half an hour of you two messing around together, you eventually closed up the place and offered to walk dahyun home.

“do you live near here?” you said, walking alongside dahyun on the sidewalk.

“yeah, about two blocks down. i hope it’s not too far for you.. i hate that you have to go all this way just to walk me home,” she said worriedly.

“it’s not a problem at all. gotta make sure the talent gets home safe, right?”

dahyun laughed at your corny joke, her hand covering her mouth.

you wished she knew how beautiful her smile was and how amazing she looked up on that stage.

“right, right,” she giggled, stuffing her hands in the pockets of your jacket that you insisted on her wearing.

when you arrived at dahyun’s place, it was hard to put a stop to the flowing conversation you had.

she was easy and fun to talk to, a trait that wasn’t common in the people that you usually met.

“well, this is my place. thank you again for walking with me.”

you didn’t know it at the time, but dahyun didn’t want the night to end any more than you did.

“of course, dahyun. it was really nice to meet you.”

dahyun looked down at the jacket she had on, realizing that it wasn’t hers, “oh! your jacket! here, take it please, i’m so sorry,” she said, rushing to slide it off of her shoulders and hand it back to you.

you refused to take it back and assured her that she could keep it, “no, no, it’s fine really. keep it. you can just give it back to me next saturday!”

silently high-fiving yourself, you succeeded in creating an excuse for her to talk to you the next time you met.

“are you sure?”

you nodded with a big smile on your face, “i’m sure.”

dahyun thanked you again and brought you in for a goodbye hug, clinging onto you as you awkwardly wrapped your arms around her.

saying your goodbyes, dahyun put her number in your phone and emphasized the importance of you getting home safely.

your mind was filled with thoughts of her the whole way home — hoping that it wouldn’t be the last time you’d have the opportunity to be with her like that.

Walks with your lover help you to reconnect and can even lead to new memories.

Nayeon

Definitely energetic. A walk around the city or even the country, is perfect for you two. Holding hands, of course, what else would you expect from TWICE’s clingiest member? You wouldn’t have it any other way. Walks with her would be much more leisurely and you guys would stop at the occasional store, but for the most part you guys just window shop. You listen to her music through a pair her AirPods. She would tap her finger to your hand to the beat of the song playing.

It’s the little things. She would definitely talk to you about every interesting thing that crosses her mind. She just never runs out of energy and you love her even more for it.

Jeongyeon would hold your hand, if you wanted her to. Unless there was somewhere you guys needed to be, she would likely stop at every single place. Interesting store? Her penguin walk 🥹🥹. Not a very fast walker, unless she’s in a rush. Would definitely want to hold hands, unless it was somewhere she would be recognized . Even then though, she would still want to hold onto a part of you, like your sleeve. Music is must when walking together, but it would definitely be slower, like lo-fi.

She would tug your sleeve or squeeze your hand to signal that she wanted to stop at a store, you would be more than happy to oblige. You guys would probably end up buying some things, even if you don’t necessarily need them. Walks with Mina would be relaxing though, it’s just you two and the world.

Dahyun

Dahyun is not afraid of anything. Walks with her involve hand-holding and listening to her music playlist together. And she would dance and even sing along to the music, if you guys were alone. It’s like a private concert, just for you. And you wouldn’t have it any other way.

If you’re around a crowd though, she’ll just softly sing the song to you. She would match your pace and probably stop at a few shops here and there, to just glance around inside. You guys probably wouldn’t end up buying anything though, unless you really wanted it.

Chaeyoung does whatever she wants, whenever she wants. And you’re here for the ride. Her walks would definitely be spontaneous and you two would stop at every interesting store and take a million silly photos at various landmarks you spot. It would be the most fun walk of your life.

If one of TWICE’s songs come on, she is definitely not afraid to start dancing along to it in the middle of the street - as long as you do as well! After you two would laugh so hard and it would become a special memory for the two of you.

Good luck trying to catch up to her. One of her strides is 2 of yours. However, she’ll try to walk a little slower for your sake. You guys will hold hands, if it’s a busy place, like a city, she can’t lose her jagiya. Would definitely walk with a destination in mind and not get sidetracked. the soft sound of the running water from your bathroom sink is all that’s heard as it’s overpowering the song that you were playing while in the shower just a few minutes ago. 

it had been a long day of constantly moving around the office. getting files to their respective owners, relaying messages about project due dates, and going for a last minute lunch run with your co-workers jake and hoshi. you didn’t mind the new things that your job had to bring, in fact, you were pretty happy that you were able to do these tasks without having to sit in a small cubicle for nearly six to seven hours a day.

since it was already getting late and you insisted on cleaning up after your dinner with dahyun, all that really mattered was just getting to bed with your lovely girlfriend and sleeping in late the next morning.

as you were finishing up washing your face from the skincare regimen, you felt a pair of small arms hooking behind you, smiling as you hear a small laugh followed by a string of kisses behind your right shoulder. 

“you’re gonna get your headphones wet.” you softly say, turning around see dahyun jam out in a little dance, clearly lost in the music.

“what did you say?” dahyun questions, pointing to her airpod maxes as she pumps her fist up in the air. 

you laugh as you grab both of her shoulders to make her stay in place, pulling the headphones off of her instantly pulling off the music. dahyun pouts a bit as you held the headphones still, placing it around her neck. 

“i said you’re gonna get your headphones wet.” you repeat again as dahyun scrunches her face at you.

“i know, i’m just taking a little break.” 

“you doodling away on the ipad again?” 

dahyun nods her head, “yep.” 

“you’re like a little kid.” 

she then slaps your arm, unamused at your quip as you try to hold your laugh in.

“that wasn’t funny!” dahyun exclaimed as you pulled her in for a hug, comforting her as she inhales the cherry blossom scent of your body wash that she loves on you whenever you shower, relaxing as the embrace of your arms draws out a yawn from her. 

“i know, i’m just messing with you, that's all.” 

dahyun looks up at you, cupping your face as she leans up to press her lips on yours. your arms slotting on the small of her back as her hands shift down, clinging onto your neck before pulling away. she stares with stars in her eyes as if she’s amazed like a kid meeting their superhero for the first time.

before you could get lost in those boundless eyes, you flash a pouted smile as you poke her nose with yours, before cradling her head in another hug, smelling the lavender scent of shampoo that she used as you lightly bury your face in her hair. 

“you almost done?” she asks you as you brush her back. 

“yeah, just mouthwash and i’ll head over there.” 

“okay.” dahyun nods, “don’t keep me waiting.” 

you laugh again, watching her walking back to the bed, headphones in ears again as she bops to the song that was previously playing.

not too long after, you followed suit as you shuffled to the other side that wasn’t occupied by dahyun, who was still doodling away as you lifted the magenta blanket over you, sliding over right next to her. your body with exhausted bones and muscles finally earning their rest as you snake an arm over dahyun’s waist, smushing your face against the pillow as you let your feet stretch out a bit before relaxing. 

“someone’s tired.” 

a mumble could only be heard from you as dahyun chuckles at your cozy state. she takes off her headphones and places her ipad on the nightstand, adjusting herself down as she wraps her arms around your head and shoulders, scratching the bottom portion of your scalp on top of the nape of your neck. this might urge you to literally turn into liquid that way dahyun was pampering you, sighing out as you feel the sleepiness slowly start to creep in. 

“i wanna be like this forever.” you say through the covers. “can i be your marshmallow?” 

dahyun snickers at your question as she holds you a little more tightly, “you’re so cute when you’re like this.” 

you shift your head a little bit to get more oxygen easier, your breath just under her chin as she continues to rub your shoulders to ease you more into your rest. 

“i wonder what you're gonna dream about this time.” dahyun says. you inhale sharply as your clutch onto her waist under the covers, pulling her closer as your leg intertwines with hers. 

“maybe something like ponyo, i like being a fish.” you mutter as dahyun stifles a laugh with her nose, “you want to be a fish?” 

“mhm. so nice.” you reply as dahyun kisses your forehead while you adjust yourself one last time before departing to dreamland. 

“sweet dreams baby, i love you.” dahyun whispers softly.

“love you more.” you mutter tiredly as both of you drift swiftly off to sleep.

Chapter 127:

The first few days are rough, and you get all the help from the members. Eventually, Dahyun and Sana offer to take care of each child until Mina returns. Sana takes Ari and Dahyun takes Hina. 

Dahyun is glad that she is able to help you with Hina and thinks that this will be a good learning opportunity for when her first child is born. 

After the first week, everything settled down, and the twins accepted their temporary adoptive mothers. 

On the second week, you and Dahyun go to get her first ultrasound done. It was the first time you had had a good moment since Mina left back to Japan. You drive Dahyun to the clinic and wait in the lobby. Dahyun gets walked in first, and some tests are done. 

After Dahyun calls you to take part in the ultrasound, you see the head nurse that you met during Mina's pregnancy, and she looks at you with a smile.

 She asks who you are to Dahyun, and she replies, "he's the father of my child," with pride. The nurse says, "Congratulations, sir," with a smirk. 

You know that she is judging you for bringing a pregnant woman that is not the one you brought in before. She puts the gel on Dahyun's belly and places the mouse-like object on Dahyun to scan for the baby. 

After a couple of minutes, you can see the baby on the screen. Being fourth months, the baby is still in its stage of development, and you can't determine the gender of the child.

"I don't care if it's a boy or a girl; as long as it's healthy, that's all that matters." When she says this, you remember the hardships that you and Mina went through during her pregnancy. 

It makes you wonder how she is doing since she hasn't contacted you since she left. You and Dahyun leave the clinic, and as you drive, she stares at the ultrasound picture.

You both arrive home, and Dahyun runs to see the other members and shows them her ultrasound picture. 

You greet Hina and Ari as Sana is taking care of them. Night arrives, and Dahyun asks if you could sleep with her and agree.
