Kirsten’s goals in 2018 shifted to the next level. To well and truly conquer her fears after the accident in Botswana, she knew she had to tackle the biggest off-road race of them all…the Dakar Rally.

12 days, 8000kms and a fear of speed…The Dakar Rally

This Dakar is no ordinary race. The Dakar is known as the toughest and most dangerous race of all time. 12 days of racing 800+ kilometres per day, extreme cold, pain, fear and possible death are all the things the piolets of the Dakar will need to face. Dakar 2020 was no different and resulted in a death of a professional rider – Paulo Congalves. Kirsten rode a very strategic and clean race and successfully finished the Dakar Rally in 55th overall and 3rd women overall. Through this success, history was made. Kirsten was the 1st of 2 South African women to ever finish the Dakar Rally for 2020. Kirsten finished the Dakar Rally in 55th position overall and 3rd overall in the women’s category, thus becoming the 1st ever African to finish the Dakar Rally.

South Africans’ Kirsten Landman is not your average sportswoman.

The 28-year-old South African competes in the male dominated sport of Hard Enduro, but this has never held her back. She has made history by becoming the first female to finish extreme events such as Redbull Romaniacs, Sea to Sky, Redbull Megawatt 111, Redbull Braveman and The Roof of Africa. But there is so much more to her story than these achievements.

Honda CRF 250 Rally ini pertama kali diperkenalkan ke Indonesia pada tahun pertama kali diperkenalkan ke indonesia pada tahun 2017. Motor yang mengusung adventure ini langsung mendapatkan perhatian positive dari penyuka otomotif di tanah air. CRF 250 ini memiliki kapasitas mesin sebesar 249,6 cc 1 silinder DOCH dengan output power sebesar 24,4 HP dan torsi 22,6 Nm. Motor ini dibandrol seharga 83,6 juta untuk dikawasan Jabodetabek. Motor ini menarik perhatian karena motor ini sangat cocok dan tangguh disegala medan berat. DNA CRF ini hampir mengikuti sang kaka yaitu CRF 1000L Africa Twin.

Selain itu, hal yang cukup mencolok tampak menarik dari Honda CRF 250 Rally ini yaitu pada sisi eksteriornya memiliki tampak begitu sporty dan gagah dikelas motor Adventure. Honda CRF 250 Rally ini pun akan dilengkapi dengan beberapa fitur canggih penunjang keselamatan atau penumpangnya,seperti dilengkapinya teknologi pengereman ABS yang siap memberikan kualitas pengereman yang lebih baik. Selama saya mengendarai motor ini, beberapa orang mengira motor ini bermesin 600 cc padahal tidak, mungkin karena motor ini memiliki posisi stang yang tinggi. CRF 250 di tanah air belum memiliki kompetitor yang sebanding, karena untuk brand Kawasaki KLX 230 itu lebih untuk cross dibanding ke adventure. Jadi motor ini sangat cocok bagi para riders yang suka touring di medan adventure berat, tetapi tidak terlalu menginginkan mesin yang besar. Terima Kasih.

For many reasons, Taye Perry will be one to watch in the bike race. Not only is she fun, smiles all the time, not only will she battle it out to become the first African woman to finish the Dakar on a bike, she’ll also be one of the smallest competitors in the history of the Dakar. But the fact she’s 1m58 certainly isn’t a concern for the South African “warrior” who started riding bikes from the age of 12.

Part of the Nomade Racing team, she learnt to adapt to the big KTM 450 rally bike and intends on surprising the world on the paths and in the dunes of Saudi Arabia.
