might sounds extremely stupid but why don't you upload your scans on internet archive?
Not a stupid question at all! I find Google Drive to be convenient (and I pay for the 1TB upgrade) and its easy to organize material. I put a lot of work into maintaining it, even if I am slow, and this doesn't even go into the long list of fansites I've collected and what not on the resource document (and that part is very important to me).

Quick Tarot Celeb Readings VIII
Some questions are straightforward and require less time to answer. That's why I created this to make it easier.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
🌞 "Are Harry styles and Louis Tomlinson currently communicating (call/ text whichever ?)"
🌹No, this shows that one of them may have wanted or thought about reaching out to the other in the past. But that thought was never acted on, so they aren’t in any kind of communication now.
In a way, I feel like they both sense that the connection they once had can’t return to what it was, or that the friendship they had is truly over.
🌞 "will nct 127 having a comeback this year? or focusing more on their solo activities?"
🌹There’s a strong chance the group will have a comeback this year.
🌞 "Hi Belli, can you read about Yeji and San, what kind of relationship do they have, please?"
🌹They don’t have any kind of relationship—it’s strictly professional.
🌞 "What kai thought about kyungsoo going to Jennie concert"
🌹He just thought Kyungsoo was approaching Jennie out of professional interest, since they work in the same field.
But when it comes to his own feelings, he felt a little sad and reflective. I believe it brought back memories of the connection he once had with Jennie.
🌞 "What do jungkook and winter feels about people shipping them? do they even know that fans ship them together?"
🌹Jungkook: He feels very sad, honestly. He’s upset about the rumors being spread and that he has to hide how much it affects him. Yes, he knows about the rumors because people in the same industry or at parties mention them or ask about personal matters, and he really dislikes that.
Winter: She holds herself back a lot from responding to people who spread rumors involving her name. It’s been hard for her to stay quiet, and she feels very guilty—especially because there’s a man in her life.
I don’t know if it’s romantic, a boss, or a friend, but this man seems to have some level of control over her, or at least she feels somewhat controlled by him. He didn’t like hearing about the rumors, and he appears to be in his late twenties or early thirties.
🌞 "Will this Karina thing affect aespa’s comeback?"
🌹It’s very unlikely that will happen. Even if many people criticize her, she’ll continue to succeed—both she and her group. I actually see her becoming even more successful after this comeback.
🌞 "Ia there something going on with Manon and Hyujin? Or do you see it happening in the future?"
🌹At the moment, they’re not in contact, even though there may be some interest from one of them. But I do think there’s a chance they’ll reconnect or form an important bond in the future.
🌞 "was the dating rumor about Lee Know and miyeon from g-idle true"
🌹No, not at all. They have no connection and never have.
🌞 "How do you see this ateez comeback going?"
🌹The comeback will be successful. It will bring in more money for the group and the company. However, I see the members getting very tired during the promotion period. One member may even start speaking out or asking for better treatment and more time for family.
Also, two members are going to stand out significantly during this comeback.
I see the group traveling around the world—they’re passionate and love what they do. They genuinely value their art and music.
One younger member might take a break due to a difficult or painful situation and will need some time for himself.
🌞 "It’s very old stuff but what can you see about the connection or relantioship between wooyoung and natty?"
🌹I feel like they have no connection or contact at all.
🌞 "hi could you pls read on bond between lsf yunjin and enha jay. Thank u"
🌹They had a relationship in the past that started as a friendship and grew into something more, but it didn’t work out. They broke up or drifted apart because one of them wanted more freedom, which led to heartbreak.
I believe Yunjin was the one who ended things or asked for space. He’s still struggling to move on, while she seems to be with someone else now.

21/5/18—, field day findings.
Edmond Haley hypothesised in 1753 that the earth is split up into 4 layers in order to explain inconsistencies with the directions of compasses.
The outmost layer I know from experience is incredibly thick, cavernous, and filled with deep tunnels. It will likely take a very long time until I am able to route my way deep enough to be able to prove beyond reasonable doubt that this hypothesis is true.
In my time however, I have found evidence that his hypothesis at the very least bore some amount of truth. In my explorations I have notes on multiple occasions a light, warm breeze coming from deeper in the tunnel systems when I am otherwise too deep for such a thing to happen. Now, this could be caused by any number of things from temperature variations within the caverns to wind from the surface; however, these gusts typically occur only near the surface, and at depths exceeding 16 kilometres.
Considering the locations in which these winds are found, I believe that the real cause is the inner atmosphere(IA) of the earth.
It is additionally worth noting that around the 10 kilometre mark the properties of gravity change substantially as the direction shifts until you begin to be pulled the way you came (surface).
I believe this is substantial evidence to prove the theory that the earth is at the very least, hollow on the inside.
As for wether are not there are multiple layers is a whole other question. My own magnetic readings do in fact confirm Haley’s readings were accurate; however, upon tracking one of these odd magnetic anomalies, I have found that their movements actually contradict with his hypothesis. Rather than moving in a singular straight line at a constant intensity, their path follows a side to side motion like a wave, occasionally veering off in some other direction almost at random. Adding to this conundrum their intensity will increase and decrease at equally random points. It is this inconsistency which has made tracking the magnetic disturbances quite difficult, but the data has successfully been collected.
Truly I do not know what to make of this.

The Second Calamity: Trial by Lightning Chapter 3: Kheel I
Chapter under the cut! Balisti from @gargoylesister (as are the other Zora, though I've taken the liberty of naming them)

Although its status as a primary source is indisputable, the authorship and intent of the Tome of Visions is unclear; this is made only a more difficult problem by the fact that many of its passages seem to be written in code. My team is actively participating in work to attempt to decode the Tome of Visions, but progress is slow.
~~~
Kheel nursed his wounds. There were first the physical wounds. Those vines had constricted him tightly, after all, and Inali had been entirely unwilling to help. That woman knew just as well as he did that she had a dagger which could have cut through those vines easily. Inali could have climbed up or even flown up and cut him free. Perhaps then, his joints would not be so sore. Kheel walked with a slight limp where his left leg had caught more weight than it should have on the way down; it was possible that he had sprained it. He did not look down to see if it had begun to swell. There was a certain element of fate to it, after all: if he looked down to confirm it, it would only come true. That was nonsense, of course, but some part of him believed it. Kheel did not have time to question his beliefs, however. He had a diplomatic mission to complete before he could finally get away from Inali and back to a relatively normal life. Kheel still had that report to complete on why they should presume Revali dead after such a prolonged absence, after all. There was no point having the First and Third Warriors manage everything in a vain hope the Second would return.
Kheel was nursing his psychological wounds as well. He had followed orders well and shown his competence; a generation ago, he would have been First Warrior by now. Instead, he had been relegated outside of the upper echelon of leadership entirely. First, Karranis Winterborn’s reforms had made things ever more stringent: more quotas, more discipline, more reports, and it had been at odds with everything those who had taught Kheel had known. He could not deny that the Rito were an effective fighting force, that they were making gains when the past few centuries had been a steady chipping away at Rito territory, but it had still blindsided him. Then the challenges had come. First, Revali had challenged him. He was an up-and-coming warrior and Kheel had chosen the bow, not realizing just how good Revali was. Kheel blamed himself for that, mostly. Revali’s confidence had gotten the better of him when he had dared to challenge the First Warrior, however. Then Inali had challenged him and defeated him in the spear. That, he could not so easily justify.
The air was crisp, he remembered. Snow fell around them, already having grown deep outside of the winter. Winter was in full swing, even though it had lost most of its bite since Hyrule’s unification. Kheel lifted his feathered spear, Inali doing the same with her own. They interred into a careful dance, always staying just out of range. Kheel would lunge forwards and Inali would bat his spear away or retreat, then would take the opportunity to return the attack while Kheel defended himself. It continued like that for several minutes, much of the crowd growing bored; that was how it was with spear challenges. Inali swept low, and Kheel backed away before slipping on the snow, pain screaming through his beak. He had likely cracked it. Inali stood over him, her spear to his neck.
“I yield,” Kheel said, venom dripping in his voice. Clearly, she had cheated somehow. He would never forget how it felt to lose in such a way.
Kheel slapped himself, returning to his senses. Inali and the Zora who had come for them gave him an odd look.
“As I was saying,” their seeming leader said, the one with gray skin instead of scales, “we are entirely unaware of your situation. If you would please come with us so that we can figure out what is actually going on, I would be pleased with that. I was asked to bring you in alive.”
“And who in Hylia’s name are you three supposed to be?” Kheel asked, frustration apparent in his voice. He just wanted to have one normal day, but that was apparently too much to ask for.
“Please do forgive Kheel’s transgressions here,” Inali said, raising a wing in front of Kheel as if to shush him. Her singular eye was directed towards the Zora. “He can be a bit… difficult at times, but he does mean the best.”
“When we get back, I’m going to have words for you,” Kheel muttered under his breath. None of the others seemed to hear it.
The gray Zora turned to him before gesturing to his partners. “You may call me Malin. With me are Tatsu and Valina.”
“And who, exactly are you bringing us to?” Kheel asked.
Valina took a sip of water. Kheel had seen just how precise her aim could be if she wanted it to. Perhaps it would be better not to mess with such a Zora.
“We were tasked with bringing you back to diplomat Balisti,” Malin responded.
“A diplomat? And what are they doing all the way out here?” Inali asked.
“Balisti was on her way to the ocean to negotiate further jade imports. It was only a coincidence that she happened to be here.”
Inali seemed to accept that. Kheel was too done with the entire situation to even bother fighting her on this. Besides, the feeling of something being off to Inali in him not fighting her brought great pleasure to him. They marched through the forest, thick undergrowth and muddy conditions making things difficult. Kheel saw Inali look up for a moment, possibly considering flying, before realizing just how stupid of an idea that would be. The thunderstorm was dangerous enough, and that was assuming she did not get herself tangled up in the vines. A part of Kheel almost did want to see what Valina could do to her if she intended to hit Inali instead of the vines. After what seemed like ages but was more accurately only ten minutes, they arrived at what seemed to be a makeshift camp. Wooden crates were strewn about, one of them with a bit more of an ornate lid that a colorful Zora with a jade ring through her nares was sitting on. That would likely be diplomat Balisti, then.
“Balisti,” Malin began, “these are the two of them. Is there anything further you require?”
“Are there more with you?” Balisti asked.
“Only the two of us were sent,” Inali replied. “If there are more, then we have been followed.”
Balisti nodded. “Tatsu, Valina, leave us.”
Tatsu and Valina did as asked, the sound of trampled vegetation all but drowned out by the rain. A crack of thunder sounded around them.
“Why would warriors take orders from a diplomat?” Kheel asked.
Inali sighed. “Again, please forgive the transgressions of Kheel here.”
“I am of the layman administrator caste,” Balisti began. “They are of the warrior caste, as is Malin here. I outrank them, and so they show their due respect. The question here, however, is not about me, but about you. What relation do you have to the bird who was brought here in a cage seventeen years ago?”
“Seventeen years ago?” Inali asked. “By any chance, did he have a burned wing? Not something that could easily be hidden, the whole wing was a mess?”
Balisti paused for a moment, thinking. “I believe he did, yes. Why do you ask?”
“That Rito is named Karranis Winterborn,” Kheel said. “Also known as the First Warrior, also known as the asshole who got us into this mess in the first place.”
“Please, Kheel, allow me to do the talking,” Inali began in a conciliatory tone. “I am Inali Summerborn, Third Warrior of the Rito. With me is Kheel Winterborn, the former inhabitant of my position. Karranis has sent us to negotiate an alliance with the Dracozu.”
“I’ll say what I damn well please, woman,” Kheel said. One of Balisti’s fins raised.
Kheel was not prepared for Inali to slap him. “If you have nothing to say that will not jeopardize our mission, then say nothing at all,” she scolded. “We are guests in Dracozu territory, and you saw just as well as I that they are easily as dangerous as any Rito warrior. And even if they do not attack us, if your antics sabotage our alliance, you know as well as I do what Karranis does with those who displease him.”
“And what, exactly, does Karranis do with those who displease him?” Balisti asked.
“What I was referencing was the fate of Vizier Zazzili Winterborn,” Inali stated. “Although Elder Khalia was nominally in charge, it had become clear that his mental faculties were not what they once were, to put it mildly. As his top advisor before he began to lose his acuity, Zazzili became the de facto ruler of Rito Village. Karranis disagreed with many of their positions, including on their position towards the ongoing war. He led a takeover of Rito Village and publicly executed Zazzili.”
“We have chosen to declare for neither Norros nor Zelda,” Balisti cautioned. “There is no need for Dracozu soldiers to fight and die for a Hylian monarch we have no stake in. We did not choose to be part of this Kingdom.”
“Finally someone gets it,” Kheel said. “We Rito were the same way, an independent state until Rhoam forced us under his boot. Zazzili would have declared for Zelda, but Karranis saw through all the bullshit the House of Hyrule had been feeding us. He’d been the only one trying to preserve an independent Rito culture, and he had had enough. Karranis led a glorious revolution and declared the Rito once more an independent state. Already, we’ve taken over Seres and Gerudo.”
“Seres?” Balisti asked, confused. “I’ve never heard of such a place.”
“The Hylians would call it the Ridgelands,” Inali explained. “Seres is the Rito name for the region, coming from sēresu, the word for thunder in the old Rito tongue. The region was named in reference to the frequent thunderstorms there. Tabantha and Hebra are Rito names as well, coming from tabanātha and hebāra—pillar and winter, respectively.”
“What would you have us do, then?” Balisti asked.
“We would have you once more declare yourselves an independent state and fight as an ally of the Rito,” Inali said.
“We would provide military assistance,” Kheel added. “We have made gains incredibly quickly and are potentially the best soldiers in all of Hyrule when it comes to taking territory.”
“And what could you offer militarily to swing the balance of power?” Balisti asked.
“Perhaps today was not the best demonstration of it,” Inali began, “but our wings are our greatest asset. Just as you Zora rule the waters, we rule the skies. What good are castle walls if we can simply fly over them and pelt the defenders with arrows? What good, even, are multiple castles, if we can take them all before word can get from one to the next just by flying out from Rito Village?”
Balisti nodded at that. “Your proposal is not altogether unreasonable. Malin, please continue on to the ocean and tell the delegation there to meet me in Dracozu territory. I will need to bring these two in to make their case so that the assembly may make its decision. Tell Tatsu and Valina to come back as well.”
Malin nodded before walking off. A few moments later, Tatsu and Valina returned. Valina took another sip of water. With that, Balisti began leading the way through the jungle. Kheel only hoped that the trek would soon find some kind of established pathway and this could all be over soon. Was one normal day too much to ask for?
The Golden Hairpin
Tumblr media
Poke.
Poke.
Poke...
The food on his plate has lost its steam long ago, still Baekhyun pokes it around. Nothing that he’s prepared himself looks remotely interesting. Life seems to be duller these days. The hues of life are slipping from his fingertips; grasping them tightly never seems to help, so Baekhyun lets them go. He stands up and throws his food into a container and puts it in the fridge. Maybe he’ll try to eat it later.
Back in his room, Baekhyun plopped down on his bed and stared at the ceiling. Time on Earth is precious and most of it has been a wonderful adventure. Sure, nothing is perfect. There have been some less than pleasant experiences as well. Every adventure is a blessing from Mother Sun.
Long ago, when he was given the opportunity to live on this world for a while, Mother Sun gave him a hairpin. It was no ordinary hairpin; it was a gift to help him during this adventure. The first winter Baekhyun experienced on Earth was the most difficult. Normally, during spring and summer, Baekhyun feels weak at night. The night is Mother Moon’s realm. He wasn’t prepared for seeing Mother Sunless in winter and how uncomfortable it would make him feel. The gift from Mother Sun, that took the form of a beautiful golden hairpin. It wasn’t real gold, not the mineral at least. It took it’s color from the brightest of Mother Sun’s rays.
The hairpin was essential for Baekhyun. He always made sure it was with him while he traveled around the Earth. 90 years into his adventure of life, the hairpin was stolen from him. He’s long since lost hope of finding the gift again, especially when he found his human friend that gave him a place to stay. When winter returns to the hemisphere, Baekhyun reminisces about his golden hairpin.
Then, as Baekhyun is mourning the loss of his hairpin, a thought occurs to him. Baekhyun is naturally a very curious Sunsprite. Since beginning a new adventure in the Academy, Baekhyun has asked many students questions about the classes and the faculty. One faculty member might be able to help him! Mr. Kim is the Vice Principal of the academy; he is also the Keeper of Artifacts. Although his hairpin isn’t something Baekhyun believes to be monetarily valuable, maybe Mr. Kim can help him find it. Or at least give him an idea of where to look. Worst case scenario, the hairpin is lost to the Earth. The least Baekhyun can do for Mother Sun is try to find the gift she gave him. With new energy, Baekhyun jumps up from his bed and heads down to the academy.
Standing outside of Mr. Kim’s office makes a chill run down his spine. Maybe this is a mistake, his hairpin could be lost forever. Baekhyun takes a deep breath, this is a chance he’s willing to take. The worst that could happen is the Vice principal laughing at him for asking about a golden hairpin. The adventure of life is all about taking chances. Baekhyun is going to take as many as he can for the next 400 years, so he knocks on the door and waits.
How do you feel about Marius/Bianca? I was somewhat perplexed by their dynamics in the last trilogy and the way Anne had Bianca quite literally begging for that dick yet he kept ghosting her because GOD FORBID a woman (or anyone, really) reminds him of a time when he was weak. He treated her like shit and then she left him and fell in love with someone else (RIP to that guy, we barely knew him) but then she showed up again and was still head over heels in love with him. Even Fareed was like “wtf is your problem bro she’s a ten”. But at the same time I guess that a big theme in the last trilogy was about going back to the person/people you’ve loved the most despite it all so it makes… sense? Him getting to keep his two wives at the end? Anyhow IA on Pandora daddy domming his ass 🥲
dagsdjk WTF IS YOUR PROBLEM BRO SHE'S A TEN
Tumblr media
god please I love Bianca so much too, she and Pandora can double-dom him any time.
I mean I think this is the same issue we run into over and over in VC where like it's FREE REAL ESTATE because Anne just like fuckin, forgot about her characters/didn't care/etc lol. Like I would kill to know what Bianca is up to, how her life has been, how she's doing!!!
And like I think I give a lot of credit to Akasha for breaking Marius's heart and destroying his confidence but Bianca did it first!!!!!!!! And I wonder if maybe that's a more appropriate source of the multi-century slump he's been in. Like he's in TERRIBLE shape in TVA and it's sorta like because he's wandering around without purpose without The Parents but like, there's plausible deniability that Pandora left on accident, whereas Bianca is his lover that like SPECIFICALLY broke up with him.
But Marius is left in a weird place when canon ends; he's sort of a mess, trying to get his life together, trying to find purpose again, and I think there's an openness he shows. He seems willing to heal, willing to rethink the way he sees vampirism, willing to respect vampires as their own people & their own culture, so maybe he'll be okay! And I wonder if part of that is like, patching things up with his exes and being more present and honest with them when he's ready. He's always been a person that like relies on his own worldview so staunchly because it was his way of coping with immortality and I think when he had The Parents it really gave him the strength to believe in himself and he had something to fall back on, it was something he could believe in because he could see it with his own eyes. So like he can be difficult and stubborn and hard to live with but he had that PROOF that he was doing the right thing and like Akasha was the real wife the whole time that he stayed with, you know? BUT WITHOUT HER? NOW HE'S JUST A HEARTBROKEN AIMLESS MESS. I THINK IT WOULD BE GOOD FOR HIM TO WORK IT OUT WITH THESE LADIES. Marius is very much always like "I WANT YOU TO CHALLENGE ME" to his lovers but then gets upset when he's actually challenged lol. I wonder if maybe he's grown past that so we can actually get somewhere! I realize I ranted and screamed but to answer your question I am feral about Marius/Bianca!!!!!!!!!!!
fanbinding: a second version of our little life (rounded with a sleep), plus some thoughts on fandom and Fanfiction Writers Appreciation Day
Tumblr media
the story: i found in my tumblr drafts an ask about this story, a hard-boiled detective noir AU retelling of the first season of OUAT.
a lot of the first half of the story came to me very quickly and very easily, especially during the rewrite draft, because i had already done some work with @thisonesatellite to brainstorm about what might be expanded and i already had about 18k to work with.
i got stuck about halfway through, caught up in my own writer bullshit, but @wistfulcynic kindly stepped up and freed me from that with a couple of simple, pointed plot questions while the group in the CSRT discord helped me unlock a few ideas about the specifics of the dreams.
as for the ending...was directly influenced by a project that @distant-rose and @justanotherwannabeclassic were working on that they kindly shared with me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the binding: sewn boards covered in Duo Oatmeal bookcloth. lineco bookcloth spine piece, hand embroidered for decoration. painted by me in a buttercup motif. paste-painted endpapers from Madeleine's Paste Papers on etsy. art by @camii-artt.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i mentioned in the earlier post about how joining the @captainswanbigbang CSRT in august of 2019, to work on finishing the fic of my heart, was a fateful decision for me. boy howdy was it. i had no idea what i was getting into--the people, the community--they were just names i'd seen on so many amazing fics. i had no idea what events were like or what the group chat would be like but i jumped in with both feet. it was the timing, you see. august is (for Reasons) a very difficult month for me and the idea of grasping on to this Thing was a joyful and a hopeful one.
so we embarked, as a group, on this writing project together. comments, questions, discussions about show canon turned into pet photos and vacation photos and late nights. we entered lockdowns together. watched one, two, three babies come into the world. new jobs. new houses. election night(s) 2020. insurrection day 2021. new year's eve parties, cocktail hours, bake-off, video game lobbies. in-person meetings. vacations. and so many nights spent writing together.
all because we wanted the same two fictional characters to kiss.
holding this fic in my hand is a wonderous thing because it literally would not exist without these people.
happy FFWAD to my CSRT/IAS fam. you're everything.
hey i saw u are taking hl history of the americas and i was wondering what you chose to write your ia about? or just some guidance on how to choose a good topic, other ia advice, etc.
i’m choosing my question/topic soon and i feel like most ib studyblr blogs are taking global politics so i thought i’d ask
hey! I personally chose to write my ia on the interwar period for germany and Nazism (I won't get too specific jic). my teacher guided us pretty closely through the ia process, so I'm basically just going to regurgitate what he said lol. for choosing a topic, we were basically given a list of general history topics and told to pick one and use it as a basis to choose a topic of our own or use them as inspiration. I think I ended up choosing something about the emergence of an authoritarian state and narrowed it down to the one I was most interested in and the factors that were most prominent/interesting for me. my advice for choosing an ia topic would be to try and find a topic in history (it doesn't have to be something you studied in class) that you are genuinely interested in. it makes the ia process ten times easier because you'll actually want to do the research and everything. the scope of your topic also really matters. if it's too broad, you won't be able to really go in depth as there will be too much history to cover in the word count. but if it's too specific or niche, you'll struggle to reach the word count. so for example, you might not want to look at entire social movement, but the effects one prominent group within the movement had on a specific country, if that makes sense.
I hope this helped, I would also recommend looking for guidance in the ib subject guide, it's very long but helpful when it comes to knowing specifically what the ib is looking for with ias. ib history is definitely a difficult subject sometimes, good luck with your ia ♡
Not your call
I saw a post earlier about another author piracy issue, this one focusing on Martha Wells. The post in question is now locked so no one else can reblog it because it broke containment far beyond what the OP wanted and was set to get exponentially worse since some popular authors had found it.
Basic gist is that Martha Wells had a patreon. For a while she was doing a story-per-month in her Raksura 'verse at the $1 tier, but eventually "closed" it because she wasn't writing more stories and didn't want folks signing up in expectation of that.
One fan took it upon themselves to copy all of the stories off Martha's Patreon and re-upload them (with credit) to the Internet Archive so that more people would have access to the stories. Without consulting the author about her wishes. This is one of those cases where "good intentions" doesn't always mean "good results."
As a fan, it is NEVER your call to make unilateral decisions on an author's behalf. When in doubt, ASK THE AUTHOR. Is there another way to access the stories? Will they be released in a collection at some point? Is it okay to download these for my own personal use? (I'm not sure how Martha's page was set up, but I know Seanan McGuire's allows you to download them in different formats with the understanding that they are for you and you only.)
Stuff like this is one of the reasons that the Internet Archive (which does incredibly important preservation work) has such a bad name in some circles: they allow people who don't own the copyright to upload stories for distribution without permission from the copyright holders and with no compensation given to the author.
It's also one of the reasons authors become so frustrated with and discouraged by the internet: it's difficult, time-consuming, and frequently expensive to try and keep their works from being stolen and illegally uploaded to sites like the IA, and no matter what measures they take, the piracy still happens. Which means they lose money. Money they might need. And they lose sales, which means their publishers might decide they aren't worth keeping.
You know how with the actors' strike there's all those reminders about how 99% of actors don't make millions of dollars and may, in fact, require a second "steady" job in order to pay rent and utilities? The same is true for authors. Even some "famous" authors struggle to make ends meet and they need every dollar they can make. And again, if their sales suffer enough they may get dropped by their publishers, who are every bit as greedy and predatory as any other megacorp.
I understand wanting to make sure that your fellow fans have access to all of an author's work. I understand wanting to make sure that stories get preserved and don't disappear forever. But it isn't your call to make. It's the author's choice and you have to let them choose what to do.
By all means, keep your own downloads (and do whatever you must to make sure they stay yours), but please let authors make money so they can keep writing (and being alive), and please let them decide how their stories will be distributed.
[I think the end result of the Martha Wells mess is that Martha completely deleted her patreon out of self-preservation and the fear of her stories winding up for sale on A.mazon, as has happened to her before, and the fan who'd done the uploading sent her the original files by way of apology.]
Tumblr media
Synopsis:
In the midst of the bustling and interconnected technological universe we live today, "Shut up and Dance" takes us into a disturbing analysis of how our intimidated is violated and influenced by digital media. Set in the near future, the plot centers on Sara, a college student who sees her existence take an unexpected turn when she is involved in the world of cyber extortion. A mysterious hacker, using a lethal weapon: In order to protect her reputation, Sara is compelled to undertake a series of supposedly insignificant but embarrassing acts. As the pressure builds, she falls prisoner to a deadly game where technology stands as the worst of her enemies and threatens her freedom. Through surprising plot twists and a story full of tension, "Shut up and Dance" raises fundamental questions about online security, the fragility of our digital lives and how privacy occupies an increasingly sqlvático world. Exploring the darkest corners of technology and human nature, this Black Mirror release presents a visually striking aesthetic alongside poignant performances. While Sara faces a merciless enemy and struggles with her own feeling hopeless, the audience is captivated by an intense emotional experience that leads us to reflect on the real control we have over our lives during these digital times. In "Shut up and dance", it is clear how in the virtual world there is no clear separation between public and private boundaries; showing us how a simple action like clicking can distort both truths and falsehoods.
Analysis:
IA and social media: In the chapter we do not see that the AI does not affect, but if the social networks because of a harassment that has an unknown person, the main protagonist has to do things he does not like as meet more people with the same problems or more serious, even had to kill another person to q the last equal to be disclosed a video of him, many people suffer from this daily because they are manipulated through social networks or cases where they get into pages with viruses and watch them all the time.
Mental health: Mental health has a great effect on our daily life and is related to our emotional, psychological and social well-being. It influences our most difficult moments and we react to various situations in which we face throughout our lives. This episode shows us a clear example of how, due to difficult situations and an imbalance in mental health, people made mistakes because they did not know how to deal with crises, stress, anguish, desperation and did everything to save their reputation.
Unfortunately we allow many people to play with our mental health and this is how it is presented in this episode, even though we want to be conscious in our actions, to manage our emotions, when we have pressure in various situations we make mistakes, stress wins us and our decisions go down, our life falls and in it our mental health and that is when we react and we realize that it was better to face the mistakes and not hide them no matter what, our physical and psychological health is worth more.
Positive aspects: social networks help us to manage our future, i.e. many activities in the future they will make our lives easier but they can replace us, through them we can communicate with our relatives at a distance and in emergency situations, social networks are a means of communication that when used in the right way are used to disseminate certain important news and be in context with what happens in the world second by second, the networks facilitate information, communication and entertainment and in our hand is the use we want to give it. Negative aspects: Social networks are categorized as a double-edged sword, many people take advantage of this knowledge in them to do evil, identity theft, theft of photos, personal information and manipulate people to do what they want, it is unfortunate that such an important and very useful tool little by little we are damaging it and so it is destroying us.
Rating:
The score we give to this chapter is 10, this chapter is one of the strongest chapters that in our opinion Black Mirror has had, it is known that Black Mirror touches on themes from the dark side of technology; This specific chapter talks about pedophilia and how hackers through the computer can be aware of everything the user does and use this against him. This 19-year-old young man violated his privacy by recording a video of him masturbating and How they threatened him that they were going to upload this video to networks and make him do illegal things.
This leads us to see the reality of many young people today and how this can influence their behaviors and mental health, leading them to commit illegal acts and even lead to death.
Technology is advancing rapidly, but even though it seems safe, we are always willing to take risks just by being on the Internet, in addition to the fact that technology today unfortunately handles everything and just one click away they have all our information. This chapter leaves many lessons, mainly about the care that must be taken with the devices and the information we give to them, because they can be within the reach of all hackers.
Read More Updates from our website Starlifeinsider.com https://ift.tt/7zn1qci Lost In Love On Starlife Thursday 19th June 2025 Written Episode Update: Bhagyashree begs Savi to come back for Sai’s sake. Lost In Love On Starlife Thursday 19th June 2025 Written Episode Update Shantanu gently explains to Rajat that Savi has completely given up on her dream of becoming an IAS officer because of the emotional pain she’s endured. He tells him that although she received her admit cards for the exams, she never actually sat for them. Shantanu urges Rajat to take care of himself first if he truly wants to support Savi during this difficult time. Later, the two of them go to visit her. When Savi sees Rajat, memories of their past come rushing back. She calmly tells him she doesn’t want to talk and asks to speak only to Shantanu. During their conversation, Shantanu acknowledges that Rajat made mistakes. Respecting Savi’s boundaries, Rajat tells her that he’ll keep his distance if that’s what she wants—but he also lets her know that he’ll be waiting. As Savi continues her treatment, both she and Rajat are lost in their own thoughts, quietly struggling with everything that remains unsaid. Two days later, Bhagyashree shows up at Rajat’s place and expresses her frustration. She scolds him for neglecting himself and staying away from home without even bothering to change his clothes. She demands to know what exactly he’s trying to prove. Rajat, consumed with guilt, admits that he blames himself for everything that has happened to Savi. Unbeknownst to them, Sai overhears their conversation. Curious and concerned, Sai approaches Savi and gently asks if she and Rajat had a fight, noting how Savi has been avoiding him lately. Sai then tells her that Rajat hasn’t eaten in two days and even went to the temple to pray for her. In her innocent way, Sai asks what a divorce is. Shocked, Savi asks where she heard that word. Sai explains that when people fight, they get divorced—and then asks Savi if that means she’ll leave her too. Touched, Savi assures Sai that no matter what happens, she will never leave her. Sai then excitedly asks if she can bring Rajat to talk, and Savi agrees. Overjoyed, Sai brings Rajat to the hospital room and encourages him to apologize. She then urges Savi to forgive him. Savi sends Sai away, saying she wants to talk to Rajat privately. Rajat apologizes sincerely, but Savi remains firm. She reminds him that they’re already divorced and tells him to stay away from her life. Rajat tries to appeal to her heart, asking her to think about what Sai is going through. But Savi turns the question around—did he ever think about Sai when he was making the decisions that hurt them all? She then tells him that once she’s discharged, she plans to go back to her own home. Rajat leaves quietly. Later, Sai asks him if Savi has forgiven him. Not wanting to upset her, Rajat lies and says yes. Bhagyashree and Raju are thrilled to hear the news, but Rajat is torn inside, unsure whether to keep hiding the truth. Soon after, the doctor comes in and informs the family that Savi is ready to be discharged. At the apartment complex, the family gathers eagerly to welcome Savi home. Sai insists that Savi should come to their house, but Savi makes it clear that she plans to stay with Isha. While Sai goes off to get the aarti for Savi’s welcome, Bhagyashree takes the chance to confront Savi and Rajat about the situation. Savi calmly tells her that their divorce is final and that she cannot live with them anymore. Bhagyashree, desperate, pleads with her not to punish Sai for Rajat’s mistakes. She begs Savi to come home—for Sai’s sake, if nothing else. UPCOMING Rajat turns to Sai for help in reminding Savi of the dreams she once had. Sai acts as “Junior Savi,” and Rajat encourages Savi to reclaim her lost ambition of becoming an IAS officer. Title: A Comprehensive Guide to the IB Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) Internal Assessment (IA)
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) Internal Assessment (IA) is a critical component of the course, allowing students to engage directly with environmental issues through hands-on research and analysis. It accounts for 25% of the final ESS grade and offers students a chance to explore environmental topics of personal interest using scientific and systematic methodologies.
What Is the ESS IA?
The ESS IA is an individual investigation that enables students to apply the scientific method to a real-world environmental issue. Students are required to plan, conduct, analyze, and evaluate a research project that incorporates both environmental and societal aspects. The IA should be based on first-hand, primary data collected by the student, although secondary data may be used to support the investigation.
Choosing a Topic
Selecting the right topic is crucial to the success of your IA. A good topic should be:
Focused and specific: Broad topics often become difficult to manage within the 1,500–2,250 word limit.
Data-driven: There should be a clear method of collecting quantifiable primary data.
Relevant and meaningful: Choose a topic that connects well with ESS themes and that you are genuinely interested in.
Examples of ESS IA topics:
The effect of road salt on soil pH in urban green spaces
A comparison of biodiversity in two different types of ecosystems
The impact of light pollution on nocturnal insect populations
The influence of tourism on water quality in a local river
The ESS IA Structure
The IA should follow a clear structure aligned with the IB criteria. Here’s a suggested format:
1. Introduction
State the research question clearly.
Explain the relevance of the topic within an environmental and societal context.
Include background information to justify your choice.
2. Methodology
Describe the method of data collection.
Explain your sampling techniques, variables, equipment, and timeframe.
Identify any limitations or challenges anticipated in your research.
3. Results and Analysis
Present data using tables, graphs, or charts.
Conduct appropriate statistical or comparative analysis.
Look for trends, correlations, or anomalies in the data.
4. Discussion
Interpret the results in light of your research question and background knowledge.
Discuss the environmental and societal implications.
Compare your findings with existing literature or case studies.
5. Conclusion and Evaluation
Summarize the key findings.
Address whether the research question was answered.
Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of your investigation.
Suggest improvements or extensions for future research.
Assessment Criteria
The IA is assessed out of 24 marks across the following criteria:
Identifying the Context (6 marks): Clarity of the research question and relevance to ESS.
Planning (6 marks): Quality of the research design and methodology.
Results, Analysis, and Conclusion (6 marks): Presentation and interpretation of data.
Discussion and Evaluation (6 marks): Critical evaluation and insight.
Tips for Success
Start early to allow sufficient time for data collection, especially if your investigation is season- or weather-dependent.
Keep a lab or fieldwork journal to track your observations and reflections.
Consult your teacher regularly for guidance and feedback.
Stay ethical in your research practices, particularly when working with living organisms or sensitive environments.
Use clear, concise language and avoid unnecessary jargon.
Final Thoughts
The ESS IA is more than just a requirement—it's an opportunity to explore your passion for the environment and contribute meaningfully to local or global discussions. With thoughtful planning, critical analysis, and creative inquiry, your IA can be a rewarding academic experience that demonstrates your ability to think like an environmental scientist.
