Create fic, art, playlists, moodboards, headcanons, meta, and anything else you can think of that centers the beautiful, brilliant, dynamic ladies of TVC! Base it on the books, the movie, the show, the musical, or even that other movie! Canon or AU!

Microfic May is back, babycakes!

This is a yearly fandom event to inspire short works of fiction in the month of May! The goal is to use these prompts to create short works aiming to be between 100 to 1000 words. (Though no one is going to be mad if you go a little over.)

Marius x Bianca | Rated E for @mariusderomanus “Would you like another drink?” Marius asks. His hand swipes up and down her thigh, warm through the thin fabric of Amadeo’s hose. And, oh. She hadn’t realized. Just a sip left in the heavy goblet. She throws it back, then holds out the empty cup. Wipes her mouth with the back of her hand, like a young man. He laughs as he reaches for the bottle on the side table. 

Rich red as it flows out, as it gurgles through the bottle. Her face is numb as she watches. 

“Is this how you found Amadeo?” she asks. She leans back in the sofa, spreads out the way a man would. Marius doesn’t hide the way he gazes between her legs. “Kept pouring him wine until he put out? Did you bribe him to stay? Do young men beg to be your kept boys, or is it the other way around?”

Marius ducks his head as he laughs. Covers his mouth with his hand. 

“Are you offering?” he asks, as he settles down. He pets across her thigh, curling in, dangerously close to her groin. Her head tilts as he does it, like it’s too heavy all of a sudden.

Too warm, between the fireplace and the heat rushing to her skin. 

That’s the thing, isn’t it? That she might have offered. Back before Amadeo. 

“You seemed too proud for all that,” Marius says gently, and she isn’t sure if she spoke the thought aloud.

Honestly if Bianca did not appear in any other books than Blood and Gold and no one else ever mentioned her, I'd be convinced she was just a mental manifestation of Marius' doubts and insecurities. She points out all of the things he's worried about or worries other people will think and allows him to argue the point.

And I know this is a function of like... Anne being painted in a corner re: Marius not rescuing Armand from the Children of Darkness, etc. There was no way to change it, she just had to explain it away, but it's so funny for Bianca to constantly be offering up the things Marius must ruminate on--If only you'd shown Santino Those Who Must Be Kept! If only you'd simply nabbed Amadeo in Paris and taken him with you!--which then gives Marius a chance to explain himself and justify his actions.

But what's funny is that he always seems to convince her, or at least--and this is my theory--she simply doesn't want to fight with him so she relents and agrees he's correct.

This is not a Marius hate post, btw. We all have to live with the choices we've made and we do tell ourselves we had no other options or at least find ways to explain them away to those who question us and/or ourselves when we lie awake at night, which is why Marius is so darn relatable IMO. It's just frustrating to me that Bianca, who is such a fascinating character, mostly fills this function in his narrative.

Nobody talks about the fact that Bianca got stuck in her coffin on one of the first nights as a vamp enough. Like Marius had to gentle parent her ass out of it while she was screaming her head off lol
