The Smiler Takeover Physical Print Interest Check PART 2!!!
I'm planning on selling physical prints of The Smiler Takeover! Printed on 8.5"x11" comic grade paper, this copy contains the complete remastered version of the story with new pages, redone lettering and remastered drawings! Sales will eventually be done on my Ko-Fi!
Apologies for the second post everyone! Price estimates for the comic have just come in and I know price can influence interest in purchasing a product, and since money of my own is tight right now I want to make sure I order enough copies so everyone who wants one can get one! The number of copies I order will be based on the results of this poll. This price does not include shipping and is based on covering printing costs, packaging materials, and the artwork itself! For now I will only have plans to ship to North America and the UK, but if you live outside these areas you can dm me once the sale starts and we can make arrangements! Thank you for answering!

Commissions in Summer Drop!
You know that there would be summer art sale and I decided to try to take some commissions along with other stuff. I’ve never done this before and feel like trying now.
How many slots do I open?
10. Here I will update how many free slots are still available.
Count: 8/10
Price?
100$ + shipping (the last time there were some accidents and problems with cheap shipping, so this time I plan to send the items as parcels and a via a priority shipping option)
What do you get?
For this money you get:
B\w graphic drawing on fine quality paper (material object, NOT a print of a digital one) A5 or any format smaller (A4 is possible if you need it but it will increase shipping cost) + high quality digital scan of it.
This drawing is made only once for you personally. They are NOT to be repeated as those from my blog, so you just get a unique graphic work.
Bunch of themed handmade stickers
Some other themed surprise stuff in package 😊
You may look at examples of drawings below
(examples are copies of drawings I’ve already made, your drawing will be unique)
What you can order?
Any StarTrek character (Mostly DS9 and those Cardassians from books I draw regularly, may be TNG, VOY or ENT) in mostly any situation/outfit/AU etc.
SFW (for this time), NO gore, body horror or same stuff.
There might be two or three characters on drawing (+30$ for each. Additional children (like cardassian babies), pets, animals, etc. go for free).
PG-13 is maximum because of law of sending country ☹ All is discussable, if you have any ideas you are welcome.
The most important part: Till when? When they will be sent? How do I order?
You may order till July 15 (or till there are open slots left)
The parcels will be sent soon after July 22.
You write me a DM. You order, we discuss, I confirm, create a drawing, send you a photo, pack it. Then you tell me your postal address and other coordinates, and few days before sending I give you card number to pay. Attention! You pay after the item is created and I learn the shipping cost! Then the item is sent and I give you a track number and send a scan of your drawing. Examples (copies)

Selling your merch and shipping from home with Fourthwall
I've been selling @shiftythrifting Junk Boxes - our curated secondhand mystery boxes - since 2017 using different platforms with different levels of success. I moved to Fourthwall in 2022 and my teeny tiny business has only grown since then! FW is free to use and you get ALL the money from your home sales save for the credit card processing fees. I don't miss the fee structure from our previous hosts, so I thought I'd write up a little guide on how easy it is to get started.
Things you need to start shipping from home:
A scale, and it doesn't need to be an expensive or large one! Even a kitchen scale works for small stuff.
Packaging and packing materials for the product(s) you're selling.
Access to a post office and/or a printer.
Funds set aside for postage. You'll get this money back with your Fourthwall payout when the month rolls over.
(Optional but handy) A ShipStation account.
Make yourself a store if you haven't already. You can sell print on demand, digital stuff, and your own inventory in one place but today we're talking about selling from home, so add a product and pick the middle option.
You can customize everything about your product on this page, from adding size and color variations, the materials used to make it, size charts, inventory, and more. Get an accurate weight of what you're selling in its packaging and add that here. Hit save and you have your first listing. Gonna be selling a variety of products? You can duplicate the listing with the meatball menu! Change the name, photos, and anything else that needs changing and have your second listing up in a couple minutes.
Didi protip: I like to put people's reviews right in the listing. Lots of photos help sell your product, but there's nothing like a positive review from fans!
Fourthwall's Collections feature lets me put my Junk Boxes in their own little section where I can set them to hidden or mark them sold out if I get sick or am on vacation. This lets me easily turn the self-fulfilled part of my store off while folks can still purchase print on demand and digital stuff and sign up for memberships.
Didi protip: If you are in the US, the US postal service will pick up your outgoing packages free of charge on any regular mail day. Just set up a pickup on USPS.com!
When you've made your first sale, you can either make the label yourself or connect directly to ShipStation through Fourthwall's app integration. That's brand new and I love it so far. My labels pop up in ShipStation about 24 hours after a purchase, giving people a little window of time to adjust their order or make changes before I ship it.
At that point, all that's left is handing it off to the postal carrier of your choice! Boom, you're done!
A final note from me, I moved ShopShifty to Fourthwall so I could have one address for ALL my merch instead of splitting it between Patreon, a print-on-demand store, and the Junk Box store. It's proven to be the best choice I've made in years and has saved me a ton of money in marketplace fees, Paypal's cut, and web hosting charges. This has genuinely been the easiest way to sell my merch!
#fourthwall#I wouldn't praise anything like this that I didn't absolutely love#and I love fw#I'm proud our lil shifty made partner#now I help other people set their stores up

Hey there!! An ask for the Big Bang - your sneak peeks have so much texture in them! How do you decide what you're gonna use, when in the layering process etc do you add them?? Tell me everything! 💌
WAGH THANK U SO MUCH!! And this is a very fun question thank U <3
SO, the brushes I use that have this texture are from here! One time a while back they had a sale with a package with a bunch of them and thats how I got them! ever since they are my go-to texture brushes + adding perlin noise in some pieces if I think it helps them.
NOW I have several different ways of working/styles both because practicality but also just working with different materials! Sometimes I do my lineart in traditional, sometimes is about putting a lot of effort in texturing and individual shadows.
With this projects I tried a middle ground, considering I didn't have time or energy to do full on digital painting but also I wanted to have full looking illustrations, so I used the technique I used in this drawing! (Sharing this one to not reveal anything related to the Big Bang yet)
I used the screentone brushes as part of the lineart, basically trying to create general shadows and textures with them!
Then I just colored! adding some shadows with color and some extra lighting effects with the screentones!
Also something I did in the Big Bang pieces that didn't do here is that I added extra layers of ambient lighting! Is just overlay/multiply/screen layers with a gradient on top of the lineart. Also I colored the lineart so everything looked better dfghjk
And then to some that story-wise were printed photos I added A Lot of perlin noice on top to give it that scrunchy texture of paper dsfghj I hope this is useful for you! When I can reveal the Big Bang pieces I can do another breakdown if you would like <3

what are possible ways to be eco-friendly while working as an artist? from supplies, to packaging, etc. (also while staying budget friendly maybe?)
Kiriska: Here are some quick ideas:
Whenever possible, save and reuse: boxes, packaging, backing boards, void fillers (packing peanuts/crumpled paper/similar), etc.
Avoid individually packaging prints until time of sale; if multiple prints are purchased together, package them together unless the customer requests otherwise
DIY or thrift for signage and decor when possible. Tablecloths and small cute table decor are usually easy to find at thrift stores. There are lots of fun ways to make your own signage from fabric, wood, and other scrap materials, etc.
Buy used instead of new. This can be for traditional art supplies as well as digital devices like tablets and computers. Some cities have stores that collect and resell art materials. Check if yours does! For tech, refurbished is usually just as good as new, function- and even warranty-wise.

That is so cool you got books printed!! Can I ask how you went about it? I've always wanted to print books for a fan comic, but felt nervous about printing a book whose characters I didn't technically "own."
I am not well experienced to give a proper opinion. I only make few zines, cause I like to own physical copies and I hope some would enjoy them too. I don't make a benefit from them, it is really for the fun of having something physical instead of digital.
I don't plan on making more batch, but if I do, it would be a very low stock, to not get overwhelmed by the shipping process. I got few people who got mad for things that were out of my control (like lost packages, damaged packages...) and I realised it is not worth to stress for something I did for fun and wanted to make other people happy. Some people can really ruin all the fun you have for a small project. They are too used of big corporation who can replace any goods they sale, but it doesn't work that way for self-published projects.
So whatever you decide to do with your own project, keep in mind that some people can be rude.

🌀 THE $10K/MONTH BLUEPRINT 🌀
🌀 THE $10K/MONTH BLUEPRINT 🌀 aka how to escape the rat race and live life on your own terms.
☁️ this post is for the dreamers, the builders, the ones done waiting for permission. let’s break it down:
💡 STEP 1: Pick Your Path You need a monetizable skill or offer. Choose one: → Freelancing (writing, design, coding, video editing) → Product-based (digital downloads, Etsy, print-on-demand) → Coaching/consulting (fitness, mindset, biz strategy) → Content creation (YouTube, TikTok, Substack, Patreon) → SMMA or UGC (brands will pay you to create)
Pick ONE. Focus is the new rich.
🧰 STEP 2: Build Your Offer Create something people want—not just what you like. Ask: → What problem do I solve? → Why would someone pay me for this? → Can I prove results or build a case study?
Packaging = Power. Make your offer irresistible.
📣 STEP 3: Get Loud Start posting. Start emailing. Start DMing. No one pays you if no one knows you. → Show your face → Share your process → Give free value → Position yourself as an authority
Lurk less, build more.
Click HERE to get access https://payhip.com/b/ZBdSH
💸 STEP 4: Scale to $10K Here’s a sample math: → $1K offer × 10 clients = $10K → $500 offer × 20 clients = $10K → $100 digital product × 100 sales = $10K → $2,500/month retainer × 4 clients = $10K
Keep your offer → dial in your outreach → systemize your delivery.
🧠 MINDSET MATTERS → You don’t need to be an expert. Just be a few steps ahead. → Charge for the value, not the hours. → People buy confidence. Believe in your offer first. → You will fail at first. That’s the point. Don’t quit.
🌱 Start small. Think big. Stay consistent. Your $10K month won’t happen overnight. But it will happen if you keep showing up.

Domino Presents New Monochrome Inkjet Printer at Labelexpo Southeast Asia 2025
Domino Printing Sciences (Domino) is pleased to announce the APAC launch of its new monochrome inkjet printer, the K300, at Labelexpo Southeast Asia. Building on the success of Domino’s K600i print bar, the K300 has been developed as a compact, flexible solution for converters looking to add variable data printing capabilities to analogue printing lines.
The K300 monochrome inkjet printer will be on display at the Nilpeter stand, booth F32, at Labelexpo Southeast Asia in Bangkok, Thailand from 8th–10th May 2025. The printer will form part of a Nilpeter FA-Line 17” hybrid label printing solution, providing consistent inline overprint of serialised 2D codes. A machine vision inspection system by Domino Company Lake Image Systems will validate each code to ensure reliable scanning by retailers and consumers whilst confirming unique code serialisation.
“The industry move to 2D codes at the point of sale has led to an increase in demand for variable data printing, with many brands looking to incorporate complex 2D codes, such as QR codes powered by GS1, into their packaging and label designs,” explains Alex Mountis, Senior Product Manager at Domino. “Packaging and label converters need a versatile, reliable, and compact digital printing solution to respond to these evolving market demands. We have developed the K300 with these variable data and 2D code printing opportunities in mind.”
The K300 monochrome inkjet printer can be incorporated into analogue printing lines to customise printed labels with variable data, such as best before dates, batch codes, serialised numbers, and 2D codes. The compact size of the 600dpi high-resolution printhead – 2.1″ / 54mm – offers enhanced flexibility with regards to positioning on the line, including the opportunity to combine two print stations across the web width to enable printing of two independent codes.
Operating at high speeds up to 250m / 820′ per minute, the K300 monochrome inkjet printer has been designed to match flexographic printing speeds. This means there is no need to slow down the line when adding variable data. Domino’s industry-leading ink delivery technology, including automatic ink recirculation and degassing, helps to ensure consistent performance and excellent reliability, while reducing downtime due to maintenance. The printer has been designed to be easy to use, with intuitive setup and operation via Domino’s smart user interface.
“The K300 will open up new opportunities for converters. They can support their brand customers with variable data 2D codes, enabling supply chain traceability, anti-counterfeiting, and consumer engagement campaigns,” adds Mountis. “The versatile printer can also print variable data onto labels, cartons, and flatpack packaging as part of an inline or near-line late-stage customisation process in a manufacturing facility, lowering inventory costs and reducing waste.”
Code verification is an integral part of any effective variable data printing process. A downstream machine vision inspection system, such as the Lake Image Systems’ model showcased alongside the K300, enables converters and brands who add 2D codes and serialisation to labels and packaging to validate each printed code.
Mark Herrtage, Asia Business Development Director, Domino, concludes: “We are committed to helping our customers stay ahead in a competitive market, and are continuously working to develop new products that will help them achieve their business objectives. Collaborating with Lake Image Systems enables us to deliver innovative, complete variable data printing and code verification solutions to meet converters’ needs. We are delighted to be able to showcase an example of this collaboration, featuring the .”

From Frames to Connections: Behind the Scenes of My First Art Pop-Up
Preparing for my first in-person art sale was an intense but rewarding experience. I want to share some highlights from this journey—from finding creative ways to present my work to the unexpected moments that made it all worthwhile.
I started by collecting second-hand frames for my signed prints. There’s something special about giving these frames a second life, and I know how much people appreciate art that’s ready to hang. Refurbishing these frames felt like honouring their potential. Watching a piece come together in a frame, blending something old with something new, was incredibly satisfying.
The pop-up was held at a local shop in my neighbourhood called Loohoo. The name caught my attention because it reminded me of my cat, Lulu, and the shop itself offered such a creative way to connect with the community. The owner provided space for local businesses to host pop-ups, and I was thrilled to have this opportunity to share my art.
As the event approached, my days were packed with prepping prints, designing small details, and juggling my day job. I even created holographic stickers with a QR code linking to a new digital card I’d set up. It’s a modern take on business cards, making it easy for people to find all my links in one place.
To promote the event, I collaborated with the shop owner to design a poster that was displayed in her window and around the neighbourhood.
While recovering from an illness, I tried to balance work and pop-up prep from home. I don’t know how to code, but I had to learn a bit to make my backup Linux gaming console work for me as a backup work pc. It was exhausting, and the illness eventually got the upper hand. Preparing for the pop-up took a backseat while I focused on recovering from a month-long battle with back-to-back flus. My doctor jokingly called me "lucky."
The week before the pop-up was a frenzy of activity. I curated stickers, cleaned up frames, and set up displays for my silk scarves in some cheap boxes I found at the dollar store. They worked surprisingly well and kept the setup neat and approachable. My packaging leaned toward simplicity and sustainability: tissue-wrapped art in mismatched secondhand paper bags. It wasn’t fancy, but it felt like the right approach—practical and aligned with my values.
The pop-up itself was an incredible experience. Meeting people, hearing their stories, and seeing how they connected with my art was one of the most rewarding parts.
One piece that stood out to visitors was Wildflower Hair. Two people were especially drawn to it for very different reasons: one said it gave her a sense of strength and independence, while another shared her love for dandelions, despite their reputation as weeds. This piece was my way of saying that even when you feel like a "weed," you’re a beautiful flower, deserving of celebration.
Heart of Gold was another favourite. One woman added it to her growing collection of anatomical hearts, while another loved the contrast of strength and openness in the design. The gold in the piece was meant to represent that delicate balance: strong boundaries that still let love shine through.
After the pop-up, I took some time to rest and recharge. Reflecting on the experience, I realized how important it is to have a solid plan, especially when balancing a full-time job with creative projects. The event also gave me valuable insights into what works for markets, from display setups to the kinds of art that resonate most with people.
Connecting with people in person was a game-changer. Unlike the online world, which can feel like shouting into the void, the pop-up allowed me to see real reactions and have meaningful conversations. It confirmed that the emotions I aim to convey through my art resonate with others, even as they interpret those emotions in their own ways.
This experience has inspired me to think about how I might create a stronger sense of community around my art, even though I’m still figuring out how to do that. While online will remain my main focus, I’m excited to explore more in-person markets in the future.
Thank you for sharing this journey with me.

Feathered Folk Update #4
You can now find my store at FeatheredFolkCo on Etsy, and my TikTok and Instagram pages @/featheredfolkco.
As you know, I've been working on setting up a small etsy shop where I can sell cards featuring my own illustrations of Australian native birds. As per my last post, I've actually finished setting up the shop, and have begun to work on some social media marketing. Though I'll be taking a break, this project has been quite the personal learning experience. This project has shown me just how much work is actually involved in setting up even a very small online store like this.
Before making my last update, I had been experimenting with prototypes for the cards. by getting samples printed at Officeworks.
Above is an image of my two samples. Both are printed on 200 gsm paper, with the left being on off-white with a glossy coat, and the right on uncoated plain white paper. I ultimately wasn't happy with either print. I liked the look of the illustration on the left print, with the gloss coat and off-white tone, but the coating also made it so that the inside was difficult to write in. Ink didn't dry properly, and it was difficult to use pencil. I felt that this really just defeated the purpose of a greeting card. The right hand card didn't have this problem, but it was also too flimsy.
I decided eventually to print at 300 gsm, with uncoated white paper, even though the cost of printing was slightly higher. I also reformatted the information on the back, as I felt there was something off about the design.
In the end, this is what I ended up with:
Below is my initial etsy store listing, with the description, which I made at the end of last week after I received my final prints. There were some additional, unexpected costs, such as a $20 store fee and a 30 cent listing fee that I had to pay, on top of the cost of printing the cards. It also took a little while to find the time to process the identity checks when updating the shop.
I had only uploaded images of the digital designs, and eventually felt that this was an inadequate representation of the product, especially for a public-facing post. I later took the product photos that can be seen previously, and added them to the listing, including an image of the cards in their packaging.
I also went on to create some social media marketing for the listing.
Though I had plans to create and upload a number of TikToks and instagram reels, the prospects of creating multiple short-form videos, in addition to the work of designing and prototyping the cards, became a little strenuous. I had a lot of time constraints between juggling work and three other uni assignments - two of which were due on the same date as this one will be. I was also limited in what I could do, by the wait times for all of the print orders. Though I will consider this short-form video content, and will hold onto the TikTok account, I decided to try to work with what I had just for this assignment. I created two slideshow posts for instagram using the product photos I had taken. One announced the release of the cards on etsy, and the other listed the designs featured in the pack. I also added the posts to my instagram story.
Additionally, I made an announcement on this tumblr account here, making use of more widely-seen hashtags that would allow me to not only organise my post in my blog archive, but also let the post be seen more widely. I tried to do that on this post as well. I also uploaded a notice on the BCM discord to reach a more local audience.
Though I didn't make any sales in this time span, I did manage to get some engagement with my store in the form of shop visits and views. I believe most of these came from word of mouth. I also gained two 'admirers' in the short time I had the shop up and running, who are people on etsy that follow my shop for updates.
