#Dillon's Dead Heat Breakers

Two characters from my Dillon's Rolling Western/Dead Heat Breakers fanfic "Dillon & The Frost Dragon Wastes": Cocoa (left) and Frosty (right). Cocoa is a white fennec fox, and Frosty is a black Norwegian Forest cat.

Both of them live in an armored base during the harsh winter storms, they work together despite having disagreements with each other. They later find Dillon and Russ trying to find their way through the winter storm while Frosty and Cocoa are on their truck.

I would tell more of their backstories, but that's spoilers for the fic that they first appear in. But what I would tell you is that Cocoa and Frosty's headcanon VAs are Patrick Seitz and Cristina Vee respectively, with both of their designs and names being inspired by the characters:

Cocoa with his design based off of Jiren from Dragon Ball Super, his name based off of Dark Cacao Cookie from Cookie Run Kingdom, and Frosty with her design based off of Homura Akemi from Madoka Magica, and her name based off of Frost Queen Cookie from Cookie Run Kingdom. Though, obviously, the inspirations are pretty loose.

Now, to the basic synopsis of the fanfic I am making: Set in a harsh winter storm created by a malevolent entity known as the Frost Dragon, we follow the shoes of Dillon, Russ, and two others, Cocoa and Frosty, as they try to make their way through the storm and also confront the Frost Dragon. We'll just have to see.

(It takes place during or after Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers, hence the whole post-apocalyptic themes here.)

An aching wisdom tooth has made concentrating on doodling difficult. So I ended up replaying one of my favorite 3DS games and remembered why I prefer armadillos over hedgehogs. X'D

Kidding, of course, Sonic fans. Please don't come after me.

So, context(and slight spoilers): one of the ongoing "side stories" is why Dillon chooses to sleep on the bench instead of in a bed. Being that the hotel room only has two beds, the answer seems to be quite obvious. But Russ(the Tails of the group) insists that it's because Dillon's spikes would tear up the bedding. But your mii character figures out that it's not the case, and Dillon is such a good big brother. ❤️

Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers is currently very cheap to buy a physical copy of on 3DS (even factory sealed!) and very good, I highly recommend it!

Your Mii gets turned into a furry, it's great.

At 7:30 pm pst we will be playing a (I think) forgotten 3ds game that became a little bit of a meme when it came out due to possibly being made for furries: Dillon's dead gacha heat breakers

This will be my first Dillon game, we will see if that is a good or a bad thing.

Found out about Dillon's Rolling Western and Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers, I was introduced to Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers first thanks to a video and became interested in where I would consider it a hyper fixation, I looked up "Dillon's Rolling Western" on AO3; no fics despite there being a fandom.

ME: Welp, might as well make a fic. (And be the first to make it.)

Any thoughts about Vanpool's departure or what it might mean for the Dillon series?

I'm definitely sad about Vanpool closing their doors. It stings as much as losing AlphaDream(developers of the Mario and Luigi games)

As for the future of the Dillon series...it's tough to say. Mainly because the third game was released during the time when the 3DS was clearly about to be shelved(or beginning the slow burn killing process), so it's difficult to say if we'll ever see Dillon and Russ again.

But I dunno. I'm, slightly, hoping Nintendo will be kind enough to preserve these games by having them ported to the Switch. Heck, the Etrian Odyssey games got ported over as soon as the 3DS EShop closed, so who knows.

For now, I'll just say, I'm glad I got all three of the games when I did. The Red Flash isn't leaving my 3DS anytime soon. 😤
