Due to it being Mother's Day, my lovely honey's D&D session was cancelled, so we'll be doing things together today, and also parallel playing, since we had a Mother's Day brunch yesterday. The fact they waited until today to tell him, the DM, was annoying, to put it mildly. But I digress.

Come join me for another installment of Let's Play Some $#!7! | LPS$, where I play games to provide commentary to educate on game development, to show why they can take years to make, to prevent another stressful Cyberpunk 2077 launch scenario! Provided I don't get too caught up in the game to comment, which, in a sense, is commentary in and of itself. Today, we tried to finish playing ATRI: My Dear Moments' demo! Check out when I first tried the demo here, TIMESTAMP - 7:23, and the first mini-review! I had to cut them short so the video didn't get to 4 hours long. ATRI: My Dear Moments by Frontwing & 枕 - Available "'As the world sank, I found you.' In the near future, a sudden and unexplained sea rise has left much of human civilization underwater. In a little town slowly being enveloped by the ocean, an unforgettable summer is about to begin for a boy and a mysterious robot girl… Now, I didn't call this stream Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD because I want this game. After I get it, it'll be a regular feature on the show. With all that out of the way, here is a quick word, until I feel like saying something more later on: I was laughing my ASS off today! And getting annoyed. This is BASICALLY I, Robot, but this time Sunny is named Atri, Sunny looks like a cute, teenage girl, and Sunny gets to experience life.

Welcome to Part 1, the Pilot, of the Let's Try To Finish Demos! | FD mini-series, where I try to finish as many of the demos played during Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD videos as I can (so I can finally uninstall them and make some space) in 4 hours-ish!

For those who are new, I aim to provide commentary and feedback on game demos for educational purposes! In addition, with how saturated Steam is, let's get these indie games some attention, shall we (and the occasional AAA game I think isn't getting enough attention)?

RULES! I try to finish as many demos as I can in 4 hours-ish!

Today, the demos I tried to finish for your enjoyment were:

I was unable to revisit Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars, and Tower of Babel: Survivors of Chaos appears to be endless!

Overall, I want all of them, and they are on my wishlist.

PART 3 - Let's Play Some $#!7!: Dex

Come join me for Part 3 of Let's Play Some $#!7! | LPS$, where I play games to provide commentary to educate on game development to prevent another stressful Cyberpunk 2077 launch scenario! Provided I don't get too caught up in the game to comment, which, in a sense, is commentary in and of itself. Today, we began a new playthrough of Dex! The game was first introduced to The Weekend Game Show | WGS via Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 7! Check out the other parts! Something I should have mentioned in the last part, that I didn't know about because I wasn't paying attention, Dex is rated M, for Mature 17+, by the ESRB for Violence, Blood, Sexual Content, Drug References, and Strong Language. Also, with the Amazon Blackout going on, I streamed it to Discord instead of Twitch while recording a video for YouTube! I'll be doing that next week, too. I don't plan to monetize Twitch, so this is a movement I can join.

With all that out the way, here are my opinions, via the "Layered Compliment Sandwich":

My biggest criticism of how difficult it was to get funds still stands. The finding of an antique to give to Hank was helpful, but I don't know what I would have done had the option not been there. I was stuck. And healing items cost too much. OR I just suck at the game. I said all this last week and I'm willing to say it again. Two things can be true at once and some things are worth repeating. THANKFULLY, I leveled up a couple of times and was able to put points into Barter, which dropped the prices. Was it helpful? Yes. Was I still freaking out a bit? Yes. I might need to buy a cheaper gun so I can buy the cheaper ammo. This game really punishes you for your choices. Funds discussion aside, now we need to discuss mechanics. I found out, if two or more people are close enough, I can hack into them both at the same time. Which, after finding out by accident, I proceeded to forget I could do it. Writing this, I thought of the boss I fought who got grouped up with a few people. I could have stunned them all. Missed opportunity... My biggest issue with the mechanics is with the combat. I might need to get a new controller, but I see the same issues happening even then. When I would be trying to jump, the Hacking screen would pop up. I was getting frustrated. At one point, during the boss fight already mentioned, I was trying to high jump and it didn't happen. Why don't enemies know how to climb ladders? Them not being able to has probably helped me numerous times, so I'm not going to bitch about it too much. It made for some amusing moments. And some easy shots. Which was why the moments were amusing. I do, however, need to try and remember if I can change the controls because I kept reloading the gun when I was trying to aim it. I kept opening the Hacking screen when I was trying to jump. I kept Pausing the game when I wanted to open up the Map. THANKFULLY, I remembered I could roll past enemies. Will I forget about it again? Maybe. Why? The controls are NOT intuitive. And what's the point of the high kick if it isn't going to send people flying? Why can't I kick people when they're down? And why can't I have the spinning chain weapon? Or can I and I just haven't found it yet? I'll end the criticism there, since it's going to be consistent throughout the game, I suspect. And I wanna end this on a positive note. I LOVE THIS GAME despite the fact it's kicking my ass. It makes me think in a way other games don't. Normally, I hate non-linear games, but running around and exploring to figure things out is pretty... I forgot the word. I looked it up; I felt accomplished! It made me want to keep digging! And the game is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous! I love running through the world, which is why I wasn't mad about forgetting where a gang's hideout was. I love exploring! I will be returning to this game again and again, despite my grievances with mechanics. And with my controller.
