I hate! The decision to base most of the models colors on the washed out ken sugimori concept art! It didnt look good then and every model has been slowly recovering from it!

Pokemon go is okay. Almost. Almost right. Like its not completely washed out but its still clearly a more saturated version of the gen 6 one which Does Not Fix The Problem.

Not stated to be unisex, but tested in my own game and determined to have no frame restrictions (while still looking good)

How can I get rid of the breasts on female sims, or add them to male sims?

There's a cheat in the base game to do this! With "testingcheats true" and "cas.fulleditmode on" enabled, go into live mode and set the sim you want to change as your active sim. Then, use "traits.equip_trait trait_Breasts_ForceOff" to remove breasts, or "traits.equip_trait trait_Breasts_ForceOn" to add breasts. Open the sim in CAS, and the changes should be made! Note that this is fully reversible. It also does not stop sims from wearing the default underwear of their set gender. It doesn't effect the frame or gender permissions of clothing.

Are there any essential CAS sliders you'd recommend?

I will always recommend the Female Chest Depth/Width Slider, because— while it's a nice slider to have in general— masculine-framed female sims lack a chest width slider, which masculine-framed male sims have. This slider helps make more consistent body changes across the genders/frames. For my own purposes, I get a lot of use out of the Thicc King & Queen Jaw Sliders, the Adams Apple Slider, the Shoulder Shape Slider, and the Experimental Presets & Sliders. I use a lot more presets and such in my own game, but I think these ones are specifically useful in creating diverse sims and working around some limitations of vanilla TS4.

Maybe, but probably not. At several points I have taken sudden hiatuses with this blog, or not been able to answer a request right away— it feels awkward to try to answer when too much time has passed, so I unfortunately don't really get around to some of them. *nodding* exactly why I (personally) dislike the "I was always X gender" narrative.

Like... I WAS a girl. I actively chose not to be one anymore. I'm not correcting a mistake. I am not a temporarily embarassed cis dude.

Lots of people love trans people until they don't look like a cis man or woman- on purpose, especially.

If you see non-passing trans women as future passing (ie. cis-looking...) trans women... You do not actually support or love trans women.

If you see fat people as potential skinny people... You don't actually support or love fat people.

From my own experience, cis people are supportive of the idea of me being a trans man* until I say I don't want to look like a cis guy, or pass at all.

I am trans. I want to look trans. Because I am trans. I am making an active choice to do so. And people really don't like that. Transitioning will not 'fix' me. It *is* me.

But they *love* trans people.

As long as it is temporary. As long as they transition properly.

It's okay to be fat- as long as you're healthy and exercising and dieting!

Ultimately, we haven't made being trans or fat acceptable, just made them into acceptable embarassing moments in a skinny, passing life...

I believe trans people will always be seen as whatever gender it is least convenient for them to be in any given situation- This is a form of transphobia.

But, critically, in a misogynistic society, the gender of least convenience is almost always 'woman'. Is this really gender affirming?

Transphobes and misogynists see trans women as women usually, because they see women as lesser... And they want us all to be treated as lesser.

After all, if they treated trans women as purely men, they would be admitting that manhood includes such people. In order to exclude trans people, they must treat trans people as lesser... and so, as women.

In order for ALL trans people to be seen and treated as themselves, as people, we must not only speak out against transphobia, but also the misogynistic view of man and woman as strength and weakness, which feeds transphobia at its core.

Starting to think it's just straight up incorrect analysis to view terfs as even viewing trans women as men, and that they hate trans women for their masculinity (and by extention being characterized by hatred for men and masculinity). Instead, i think you have to view their comments on trans women and their bodies as intentionally and forcefully masculinizing a woman, excluding her from womanhood for not fitting into white women's beauty and body standards. Many people have noted that this is similair to how black women are historically and today masculinized in society, and indeed terfs commonly attack women of color for similair things. If it is about hating men it's noticable that they don't talk about men the same way, "men" are only ever a threat if she's a woman. Any other man is allowed to be an ally to the terf movement if he's "protecting women" (by excluding certain types of woman). It's misogyny, it's transmisogyny, everything about this structurally replicates the ways women are mistreated by society generally, and excluded from femininity, just lazerfocused on targeting trans women.

Yeah, I don't really personally like to use the term sapient/sophont.

I think we don't explore the gap between 'non-sapient' and 'sapient' enough, because the word primes us to only consider species comparable to humans in intelligence as being people.

It's tricky because it can obviously veer into problematic ideas of what a 'less intelligent' society / species looks / acts like, but it's something worth exploring if done right.

Besides, I think it's also questionable to never consider anything below 'human intelligence' as being people.
