How Dry Fasting Works
Dry fasting can be done with any intermittent fasting method by not drinking or taking in any fluids during the fasting period. Some of the popular fasting schedules include:
Daily time-restricted fast. Eat normally but within an 8-hour window, such as between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
5:2 fasting. Eat normally 5 days per week and fast for 2 days per week.
Alternate-day fasting. Alternate between eating normally one day, then fasting completely or eating a small meal of under 500 calories the next day.
Studies have shown a range of benefits from intermittent fasting, including a healthier body and a sharper mind.
There are some proponents of dry fasting, which is abstaining from all food and fluid for a set period of time, who claim it has as many or more benefits as intermittent fasting. However, there is not enough research on the benefits of dry fasting, and many doctors consider it a dangerous practice.

Has anyone done low water fasting (1-2 cups water) vs dry fasting?
I don't see a lot of people dry fasting here on Tumblr
I intermittent fast, sometimes with water, sometimes soft dry.
I'm working on building up to 3 day soft dry fasts.
Most of my fasts lately have been soft dry intermittent, allowing myself to eat and hydrate in the evening.
I've read that day 3 dry fasting the body starts getting the most benefits so I hope I can achieve 3 day soft dry soon.
I'm tempted to allow myself 12 oz of water a day but I know that's not a true soft dry fast and I don't want to lose out on the benefits.
I've noticed people tend to do 1-3 days dry with 1-2 days water and flip between the two for extending their fasts. Some manage to dry fast for extended periods of time, I'm struggling to get past 2 days soft dry lol
I think I'll try low water fasting over the next few days and see how it goes though I'm very likely to end up just intermittent fasting whenever dinner rolls around 🫠 😂

Is it possible to take dry fasting too far? Is it Healthy?
Earlier, fasting was done for religious reasons. People of various faiths have practiced various methods of depriving the body of food and water for a set period. As more and more people care about their health, fasting has become a popular way to keep the body in good shape. Fasting has been done for hundreds of years, but only recently have people talked about how good it is for your health.
Tumblr media
Various fasting methods exist, and 'dry fasting' has gained popularity in recent years. This fast involves going without water and food for an extended period. In this post, we will learn whether is it possible to take dry fasting too far. To understand this better, let’s look at different methods of dry fasting.
Period Fasting: Food consumption is limited to several days, such as a three-day fast once a month.
Intermittent Fasting: Eating and not eating at regular intervals is known as intermittent fasting. In this type of fasting, you follow the 16/8 method. You limit food intake for 16 hours and eat during an 8-hour window.
Alternate Day Fasting: In this type of fasting, you eat every alternate day. In other words, you fast the entire day on day one and eat the whole day on the second day.
Eat-Stop-Eat: In this type of fasting, you fast for 24 hours once or twice a week.
In dry fasting, you could become dehydrated or take on to other problems since you can't drink water. That’s why it is suggested not to take dry fasting too far. However, here's what can happen if you extend the period of dry fasting.
You may feel hungry and unable to bear it for long. This can make you feel sick and cranky. However, not eating for long can also lead to nutrient, vitamin, and mineral deficiency.
Your body will not have enough fuel to keep itself functioning. You may then feel tired. This can also lead to low blood pressure and electrolyte imbalances.
You may find it challenging to focus on your work, studies, and other primary things.
No fluid intake will make you urinate less, which may lead to dark and smelly urine. This can also lead to dehydration, urine infection, and kidney issues. This can also increase the risk of fainting.
The recommended time without water is four days, so that the dry fasting timetable would be at most four days. However, beginners may do a dry fast for up to 24 hours.
Conclusion
We hope this post was helpful and you have understood if is it possible to take dry fasting too far. Beginners may start with a soft dry fast, in which you can drink some water. During the fast, you still don't drink water or eat any food. But for how long?
Your dry fast should last no more than three or four days. Some people have gone without food for longer than this. This is not suggested; you should think long and hard before doing something like this.

One thing I wish I'd see more of among Ratio fans is some thought about how he views himself as a teacher.
Like yes, of course he refuses to compromise on the quality and rigor of the education he imparts, and he would find it unforgivably unethical to lower his standards in order to pass more students who had not genuinely learned the material. This is core to his character.
However, as someone who is a teacher IRL, I know the absolutely miserable feeling setting that kind of standard can cause. There's the obvious disheartening sense of disappointment ("Are students these days really not capable of doing the work correctly? Is our future in danger, if this is the highest level of understanding our current generation of students can achieve?"), but even worse than that is the self-doubt.
"Is this somehow my fault? Am I not teaching this material in the right ways for the students to learn? Is there something I could have done differently to get through to these students? Would a better teacher have a higher passing rate?"
We know that Ratio does (or at least did) struggle with feeling inferior to the Genius Society, so I think it is also likely, as much as he absolutely will not budge on his academic standards, that he has doubts about his teaching ability as well.
This is the man who wants to educate the entire world to cure the disease of ignorance, and yet only 3% of his actual students are able to get there. How can someone who gets so few of his direct students to a state of enlightenment hope to enlighten the whole universe? If so few students are successfully learning the material of a given class, doesn't that mean the teacher is doing something wrong?Would a better teacher--would a genius, maybe--not be able to impart their knowledge more efficiently and educate even the most challenging of students?
As someone constantly struggling with that balance between keeping academic standards high while also meeting the needs of today's students, I think the passing rates of his courses must affect Dr. Ratio much more deeply than I've seen fans discuss. I think he would question himself harshly over his class success rates, and I think he must be constantly trying to push himself to become the best teacher he possibly can be.
tl;dr: I hope one day the HSR fandom will stop sleeping on the fact that Ratio is an actual practicing professor who probably has astronomical levels of teacher angst. 😂

Someone asked about seeing my old prints, so I did a quick test print of the carvings I brought up from storage earlier. I carved these in like 2017-2019 I'm guesstimating.

Additionally, there`s proof that prescribing calories improves irritation, which protects the immune gadget. It's the concept that the whole calorie limit has comparable consequences.

Cell regeneration due to dry fasting helps in healing scalp psoriasis
However, humans have a look at it in its early stages, and the thing didn`t nation if water became allowed. Studies are hard to decide if equal consequences arise in wholesome human beings at the same time as dry fasting.
The individuals’ proinflammatory cytokines have been lowest in the course of the 0.33 week of dry fasting. This shows decreased irritation at the same time as fasting, which may also enhance the immune gadget. But again, dry fasting isn't continuous, and water is authorized at positive times.
The hyperlink among dry fasting and advanced immune characteristic wishes in addition studies. Though water consumption promotes wholesome pores and skin, it's the concept that dry fasting can assist. This could possibly have to do with the purported consequences of fasting at the immune gadget.
Some declare fasting helps wound recuperation. It was additionally discovered that temporary, repeated fasting accelerated wound recuperation in mice. Conflicting consequences also are present for scalp psoriasis post fast results. Researchers also discovered that calorie limits bogged down wound recuperation in rats.
Other humans suppose fasting slows down age-associated changes, such as pores and skin getting old. This is in all likelihood due to the fact calorie limit is related to slower getting old. Despite those findings, studies haven't discovered unique pores and skin blessings of dry fasting. Most studies additionally concerned mice. More research is needed to verify that fasting without water can assist human pores and skin.
People declare the blessings of fasting increase with ordinary, repeated sessions. But it's believed that dry fasting provides the fastest consequences due to the fact it's the maximum extreme. This is theoretical. To date, research has compared the consequences of intermittent dry fasting in the course of dryness with different kinds of fasting. But researchers have not compared the charge of those consequences withinside the equal experiment. Additional research is hard to decide what form of speedy yields the fastest, most secure consequences.
Dry fasting has capacity aspect effects. You may experience:

Hello, extremely random ask: Please do you, clearly a great fountain pen connoisseur, have any advice for a poor leftie trying to get into fountain pens? I love the way they look and the feeling of writing/drawing with them but everything I do smudges :( (But no worries if not, I'll just keep admiring them from afar then)
Also, I have been obsessed with your art for ages, I could stare at it all day, it gives off such great vibes and character to me! And the way you line things is delectable.
hi! i'm so sorry to inform you that i am very much Not qualified to give advice for lefthandedness as i am not one of you...!
the friend i got into fountain pens over the weekend is left-handed, but is only planning to use it for drawing and not writing exactly because of the smudge problem. with drawing you're at least on the same footing as right-handed people and you just learn to draw and ink in a direction that's least likely to smudge. unfortunately it seems like the great injustice of left-handedness in the western world is the standard direction of writing from left to right, which is not so easily fixed. i have heard of left-handed people who've learnt to write sideways to get around it, and that's the extent of my knowledge. SURELY there's some Tips & Tricks for avoiding smudges out there by people with more experience...! (not that i am immune to smudges as a right-handed person either, i have experienced Many Such Cases from being a lifelong fountain pen user and the occasional dip pen enjoyer)
if you're interested in getting into fountain pens, the basic bitch starter pen is the Lamy Safari, which is very much on the affordable scale of fountain pens And has a grip that should work for either handedness. (it also comes in many cute colors which is important to Me!!!)
the way fountain pens work is that the more you use them, the nib gets shaped by their use and they become comfy for your exact way of holding the pen. i think. at least that's what i've heard. i've never really understood what's so difficult about using fountain pens - i got into fountain pens by accident, by attending czech school where you're not allowed to write with pencils and they just sell a lot of cheap fountain pens for kids over there. i've gone through So Many because they would only last for like a year or two before they broke in some way. it's only fairly recently that i'm getting more serious into fountain pens and getting some actual good ones :')
idk if this helps but that's what i have! thank you so so much for your kind words <3333

Dunno if anyone's asked this yet but how do you transfer / create patterns for your embroidery pieces? :O
Has not been asked yet! :>
I prefer to print my design onto paper and then trace over it with Pilot Frixion products onto a piece of water-soluble stabilizer. Pilot Frixion products are pens and markers that disappear when heat is applied. My preferred stabilizer is Pellon 541. I buy it by the bolt because it is a tried and true favorite of mine and I know how to get the most out of it.
Tracing by hand is another step vs using products that allow you to print a water soluble design but Pilot Frixion pens don't stain my preferred fabrics I work on. And I can just use a glue stick on the Pellon 541 (which I cut into the shape I need) so that it sticks to the fabric without shifting, so I can use less for each piece. I keep many colors of the Frixion fineliners on hand so that when I transfer embroidery I plan out then, not later, where I want each color to go, and have a guide to follow when I'm in the weeds stitching. This is a choice I make for my workflow, not something that I see commonly done. If I don't do this, I'll forget how I intended to do some sections.
Pilot does not endorse crafters using the Frixion products this way since they're not tested or rated for that use, btw - they are normal pens and markers meant for paper. Very experienced high art crafters also do not endorse Frixion products because of the very valid reality that the PH could degrade fabric over time, or the marks can reappear if exposed to cold. I do not especially care about making heirlooms for people that are intended to last decades - my projects get a LOT of hard use and wear. The embroidery process will not be what causes the fibers to wear out on my clothes or accessories.
I have used the stick-on printable washable stabilizers. I used it on the dragon vest I made, and I regret it deeply. It turns out that some printer inks do NOT wash out when the piece is rinsed and the dyes/pigments settle on the fabric and just stain the everloving fuck out of your fabric. I had to use every ounce of my laundry knowledge from years of working with fibers to save my vest, so I had color catchers on hand and had to immediately run to buy two liters of vodka for soaking instead of risking it drying overnight.
I still have my printable interfacing sheets and I'll probably see if friend-printers have ink that works better than mine did, which is in the fine print of the product, that it might stain and to test it. Or I can just use them up as tracing papers without printing. It feels like a waste to do that without trying other printers since it's so expensive for a pack of sheets and I am currently unemployed. I'll do whatever suits my needs on a project by project basis with it.
Anyway. Don't be me with using new methods of transfers on the big important projects. Test your new transfer method with your fabric in an inconspicuous spot. Honestly, test older transfer methods with any fabric if it is a gift or something Special and Important. I almost destroyed 130 hours of work and I am experienced enough that I had the skill to just barely salvage my hard work.
