Getting looser with lineart and better at colour schemes and simplifying shading. Is good actually.#It's so much easier to eyeball what a colour would look like in a setting instead of colourpicking the OG palette and struggling with...#...like 9 overlay and multiply and soft/hard light layers#Approximating colour genuinely looks better than forcing local colour into the piece. As long as the values are still there it works out#comic

#I have more notes regarding this fella compared to the other fnaf 2 robos which is why they’re being posted separately#and also he took me almost a week to render and I’m very bitter!!!!!!!!!!!#I realized while drawing this that he wouldn’t be able to stand up properly with those thin flimsy limbs of theirs#but they crawl around anyways so use your suspension of disbelief for this specific drawing#also. ribcage area is kinda bs but I imagine the spine is constructed similarly to a human’s#the animatronics would have a smoother/dynamic range of motion#that way they can bend down to a kid’s eye level and seem less predatory#OH and I changed everyone’s names so they’re a little more unique#but I’ll still refer to this one as toy foxy or mangle just bc#art#character design#final incarnation au#mangle#five nights at freddy's#fnaf#fnaf fanart

is this ship popular because it’s legitimately compelling or is it popular because it’s the easiest to decontextualize and write college roommate AUs about?
#i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again 🤷#i’m finally realizing that a big thing for me is what i suppose could be called high-context relationships#where character dynamics are VERY strongly shaped by canon circumstances and events#which AUs render completely incoherent or meaningless#vs. ships that aren’t as context-dependent and are thus friendlier to people looking to write AUs#or project their OCs onto the characters and their relationship#which isn’t like. Evil or anything#it just isn’t my cup of tea#like. obviously it’s compelling to those people in a very different way#but that’s different from it being compelling IN CANON#which is all i personally care about so 🤷🤷

is it too early to say that the narrative of Jinx being Vander's daughter was an OOC characterisation used to overwrite her being Silco's daughter because they needed to speedrun her redemption without being controversial
#her trauma regarding Silco's whole thing AND the murder is glaringly underwritten in s2#Powder's BPD abandonment issues were so hardcore she threw herself onto the first man who came her way after Violet's abandonment#and she had psychotic hallucinations about Vi even seven years after the incident#killing Silco should have destroyed her#but instead she is randomly readopted by Vander#like what happened to Vander favouring Vi and spending the most time with her bc they understood each other the best#Silco and Jinx were a direct parallel to THAT#and Jinx being a Jinx led to her murdering not only Vi's father figure but her own as well#so why can Vander remember Powder vividly enough to stop attacking a very visibly changed Jinx#but beats the shit out of Vi who looks much more like her younger self#unpopular opinion but Jinx would never call Vander papa/dad/whatever#but even if they did randomly add the layer of Jinx being Vander's daddy's girl#it's them throwing her guilt about his and Silco's deaths out of window that renders the whole dynamic ooc for me#ok bye#arcane critical#jinx
