i don't usually read comics published before the mid-80s but maybe i should because i just read a 1975 issue of batman where dick and barbara (who's a congresswoman for some reason) fight revolutionary war general benedict arnold who got resurrected by the literal devil so he could get revenge on the american people for remembering him as a traitor
