have you ever noticed that ( jessica drew ) from the ( marvel universe ) looks a lot like ( meghan ory  )? but ( she ) also goes by ( spider-woman ). Having the abilities of ( bio-electric spider physiology & pheromone secretion ) sure makes them a force to be reckoned with. they’re known to be ( tenacious, ) but also ( capricious, ) and they’re ( ~eighty ( due slow aging experiments), physically thirty-five ) ) years old.
Tumblr media
{ trigger warnings : mental illness, mentions of suicide attempts, child abuse, sexual abuse, torture, overall hydra bs, comas, experiments/medical stuff, kidnapping, and pregnancy ─> ive indicated which sections contain each. }
hey everyone, me again!! here’s my second baby aka jessica drew!! more about her under the cut~
INTRODUCTORY INFORMATION ABOUT JESSICA //
okay so jessies backstory is going to be pretty similar to her comic canon along with a few of my own head canons sprinkled in. the biggest change will be some alterations to her pregnancy backstory, which i’ll explain based on what cal and i plotted for jessica and carol.
JESSICAS CHILDHOOD BACKSTORY & ESCAPING HYDRA // ( has most of the triggers here, pls skip over this if it’s likely to trigger you <3 )
jessica’s father was a hydra scientist, who used her as his lab rat, experimented on her, and is responsible for her powers.
when jessicas mother was pregnant with her, she was exposed to her father’s experiments. in nothing short of a miracle, jessica was born healthy, or so they thought.
when jessica was a kid, her exposure to the uranium on her family’s estate made her incredibly sick to the point of near death, coupled with what would be revealed as a subtle DNA match of wundagore widow DNA in her blood, and so her father injected her with more DNA of the wundagore widow to try and turn her into his precious experiment that’d salvage years worth of failed research
while her father was abusing her mother in front of her, jessicas bioelectricity activated and she attacked her father, then fell unconscious
when she awoke, she was naked and surrounded by male hydra agents, now a full grown teenager.
hydra brainwashed her into perceiving all of her loved ones as demented creatures. they also had her manipulated by one of their male agents into believing he loved her. this was her first boyfriend.
hydra trained her in multiple styles of martial arts. she was personally trained by the taskmaster and worked under the tutelage of one of hydras supremes, otto vermis.
jessicas first assignment was to infiltrate shield and murder nick fury. but shield showed her the truth of what hydra had done to her and of her origin story
jessica betrayed hydra, escaped, dyed her hair brown, and ran away. she lived briefly in london where she connected with mordred the mystic and a sorcerer named the magnus, the latter of whom taught her how to acclimate back to civilization.
she moved to LA, where she made her first friend, lindsey, in a therapy group. she worked as a bounty hunter in LA until moving in with lindsey in san fcanscico.
shield and hydra both started trying to track her down. hydra found her, and her boyfriend confessed to having manipulated her so she’d stay loyal to hydra. in a 24-1 battle, jessica murders taskmaster, her ex boyfriend, and the other hydra agents.
nick fury again attempts to reach out to jessica, this time telling her he knows her parents are alive. she finds her mother brutally murdered on the bed and finds her father’s research
jessica then goes undercover to seduce otto, pervy old man, to try and discover information about her origin and about her father. they try to kill her, and reveal that madame hydra wont be happy when its presumed jessica’s dead. (more on this below)
she decides to infiltrate hydra again, this time she finds her father, and when it’s revealed he only cares about her because she’s his experiment, jessica’s conditioning kicks in. she reveals that hydra tortured her for her entire life, leaves the facility, and then meets the next legacy of her father’s experiments: other spider-mutated girls, just like jessica. she blows the facility up and leaves.
she went back to her place with lindsey and worked in San Fran as a PI. there, she earned a reutation as the dark angel of san fransisco.
DEPOWERED & REPLACED // ( mentions of suicide attempts & mental illness, kidnapping )
during her time as a PI, jessica went on several adventures. for one thing she found for herself an archenemy in Morgan le fay. In one of these particular magic-related brawls, she was left powerless.
she helped out the x-men by letting them move in with her
she continued working as a PI, powerless, even doing investigation on the criminal territory of madripoor
as her powers started coming back, she teamed up with the heroes for hire. she also worked with jessica jones on a case involving mattie franklin.
however, her powers kept fluctuating, and so she accepted a deal with madame hydra herself, who’d become obsessed with jessica because she became convinced she’s jessica mother when morgan le fay convinced her she was meriem drew. as part of the deal, jessica had to join shield as a double-agent to give information to hydra. fury figured it out and used jessica to spread false information for hydra
at this time though skrull queen veranke kidnapped and replaced jessica. jessica was held a prisoner of war on the skrull’s ship for two years. and most everyone regarded jessica cruelly after she got back, because they were reminded of queen veranke, who was responsible for the skrull invasion.
she became extremely depressed this time, and attempted suicide by venom blasting herself in the head
jessica joined sword, the european version of shield, and began hunting down skrulls
the rest of jessicas adventures after this time involve her working as an avenger and dealing with the spider-verse. there she seduced Morlun and became his “lover,” gathering the information that would let them defeated the inheritors. she was killed during the secret wars, but the timeline was undone.
PREGNANCY & PRESENT //
jessica did get pregnant, but instead it was as a surrogate for carol’s baby. gerry is therefore carol’s biologically.
the rest of the pregnancy, giving birth on a skrull ship she was invading with carol at her side, remains canon
she decided to work part-time as a hero so she could be around more for gerry but also show him what it means to be a hero.
now she works as a freelance PI, part-time hero, rogue shield agent, and committed mom. she’s a full time Spider-Mom though and wants to love on all the spiderlings always.
A BRIEF SYNOPSIS OF HER POWERS//
jessica is one of the totemic avatars (weird spider-verse shit). aka she’s a strong baby
superhuman strength, speed, stamina, durability, agility, reflexes, flexibility, and enhanced hearing
containment immunity: of all radiation, drugs, poisons, and toxins
wall-crawling
bioelectric venom blasts
accelerated healing factor and slowed aging
pheromone secretion: of fear/repulsion and sexual/attraction pheromones
self-propelled glide — she used to be able to fly. now it’s just gliding.
MISCELLANEOUS//
raging lesbian ok thanks
crippling fear of rats
shield agent rank 7
has an obsession with her red, classic american motorcycle. seriously, it’s her baby
i imagine she actively stifles her english accent, which was a defence mechanism in the past to stay hidden from hydra and shield, then stuck
she constantly dyes her hair brunette, hates wearing it blonde
lowkey Sex Addict™ . but also was taught sex should be weaponized. v similar to black widow in this respect
will respond to jessica, jess, or jessie (or spock, to carol)
shes a sad baby who needs all the love ok????
so that’s it for my baby jessica!! let me know if you want to plot! im so excited to write her with all of you!! <3

Review: Little Fires Everywhere
Book: Little Fires Everywhere
Author: Celeste Ng
Release date: September 12, 2017
Summary: In Shaker Heights, a placid, progressive suburb of Cleveland, everything is planned -- from the layout of the winding roads, to the colors of the houses, to the successful lives its residents will go on to lead. And no one embodies this spirit more than Elena Richardson, whose guiding principle is playing by the rules. Enter Mia Warren -- an enigmatic artist and single mother -- who arrives in this idyllic bubble with her teenaged daughter Pearl, and rents a house from the Richardsons. Soon Mia and Pearl become more than tenants: all four Richardson children are drawn to the mother-daughter pair. But Mia carries with her a mysterious past and a disregard for the status quo that threatens to upend this carefully ordered community. When old family friends of the Richardsons attempt to adopt a Chinese-American baby, a custody battle erupts that dramatically divides the town--and puts Mia and Elena on opposing sides. Suspicious of Mia and her motives, Elena is determined to uncover the secrets in Mia's past. But her obsession will come at unexpected and devastating costs.
Rating: ✩✩✩✩
*SPOILER FREE*
Okay, being honest I had never heard of Celeste Ng before watching John Green’s video “Let’s Talk About Books”. It took me quite a while to get into this book, which is why it took me so long to finish it (over a month), I also had lots of school stuff to focus on, but that’s beside the point. I went into this book not really sure what it was about, I wanted to be blind whilst reading it, I refused to look for any book reviews on it that would discourage me from reading it and I was so glad to have done that because it turned out to be one of the best books I’ve read this year.
Ng’s writing is so beautiful and it touches you in ways you never thought possible, she found a way to tie in the simplest of objects with things so heartfelt and meaningful it took my breath away. The constant shift from point of views as the story developed served to create a breathtaking “big picture” effect, which Ng pretty much perfects. Although the writing seemed slow at first, with not much happening in the plot, it quickly became much more interesting as the story developed, though the slowness of pace was completely understandable, looking back at it now.
The plot, I really wish words were enough to discuss how important I think this novel is and how wonderful it was to read. From familial love to fleeting, high school romances this book highlights the importance of communication and understanding within a relationship. From Lexie and Brian’s relationship to Mia and Pearl’s relationships were filled with so much realness, it wasn’t an unrealistic, almost fantasy-like element you find in many books where imperfections and anger are glossed over in order to create a better world. Ng talks about Shaker and its community, and through each character’s view you get to see the little flaws that overtime, are shown to be the root cause of a vast majority of the problems found as the story develops.
Ng also calls attention to casual racism we see thrown around quite often, and points it out through the point of view of both the white characters and the characters of color, other problematic behavior is shown in the book which we experience in our daily lives which really impressed me.
The characters of the novel were exceptional. None of the characters ever felt two-dimensional and boring, all of them were rather exciting to read about and come to understand. It’s not what you’d expect, as Ng illustrates to the reader, appearances are not everything, especially in regards to the citizens of Shaker Heights.
Overall I loved this book, and I hope to pick up Ng’s first novel, “Everything I Never Told You”. Her prose was a delight, and her story along with everything in it were magical.
*SPOILERS*
Okay, Little Fires Everywhere, was a wild ride.
The way Ng carefully crafted this novel is enchanting, and the way she slowly peeled back the layers and unfolded the details of the plot I was taken aback. Right off the bat we have the Richardsons and the Warrens, two completely different families, from two different worlds. The Warrens have spent most as nomads really, moving from city to city whenever Mia finished a project, never really laying claim to one singular place to call “home”, and you see the relationship between Mia and Pearl as tender and closely-knitted (which they are). More than that, Mia was an understandable mother, never invading her daughter’s space and always making it known to Pearl that she was on her side. It helps that Pearl is an exceptional daughter, she’s emotionally mature for her age, understanding when not to press her mother for details she wasn’t ready to share with her, and her unapologetic intelligence made her a lovable and reliable character. The Richardsons on the other hand were, right off the bat, shown as a distant family, from the parents all the way down to the youngest Izzy. They did bond over certain things like watching Jerry Springer every afternoon when none of them were busy, but otherwise they weren’t very close.
Moody and Pearl’s friendship is the first real friendship Pearl has, now that she knows they won’t be leaving Shaker she can allow herself to become attached to someone, they start off so tenderly, inseparable at first but eventually too much comes between them and they’re broken apart. Moody clearly was infatuated with Pearl from the start, the way he viewed her screamed high school crush and it continued throughout her stay in Shaker. Pearl never returned those feelings for Moody, though she knew how she felt about him. These unrequited feelings are cleverly shown when Moody gives Pearl her birthday gift, a leather moleskin notebook for her poetry. Moody thinks of it as a sentimental gift because now, when she wrote the poetry she loved in that notebook she would think of him, and later it’s revealed that she never even opened it, let alone wrote in it. I liked Moody in the beginning of the novel, but as the story progressed and eventually came to an end I found myself leaning more towards disliking him. Moody wasn’t a bad person, he just made some bad judgement calls out of anger, but that was what eventually drove Pearl away from him. His anger at Pearl when he realized her relationship with her brother Trip was evident when he told her that she was just another consort to Trip, unimportant and easily interchangeable and when he told Trip that she played them both. He was an insecure kid, as he clearly is constantly self deprecating in his point of view, and to be honest I can see why she didn’t return his feelings.
Lexie and Pearl, they became so close in such a short span of time (all of the Richardson kids did) but it was clear that this time, Pearl held a sort of fascination for all things Lexie. At the start of the novel we see that as Lexie started becoming close to Pearl, Pearl began to adopt everything Lexie into her life, from changing her wardrobe to channeling a “Lexie attitude” at school after wearing one of her shirts. We see that Lexie is a privileged senior who lives in a bubble of her whiteness, unaware of the very real racial problems in the world. She often says things like “I mean, we’re lucky. No one sees race here.” She thinks that because she is in an interracial relationship that automatically indicates the lack of racism found in Shaker Heights, which is revealed to not be true later on in the novel when the trial begins. Lexie is self-centered, but it wasn’t acquired consciously, it was something she grew up with so she doesn’t realize how incredibly selfish she is when she makes decisions. When she goes to the abortion clinic under Pearl’s name, consequences be damned, she does it without a second thought, like it doesn’t occur to her how problematic this one action is. Later, she justifies it by saying her mother is friends with the director, so she can’t be caught. Regardless of this, Pearl is infatuated with her, eager to please her and be there for Lexie should she ever need it, which is why I assume she never made it an issue that Lexie had gotten an abortion under Pearl’s name.
Trip and Pearl, there isn’t much to say about them because their story was never really a highlight in the novel. What I did love about their relationship was how easily they communicated, when Moody confronts Trip at the end of the novel Trip thinks about how easy it was to talk to Pearl about things he never thought he could discuss with any girl from Shaker Heights. He thinks about all the things he likes about Pearl and it’s obvious to the reader that Trip had genuine feelings for Pearl.
Izzy didn’t develop a strong relationship with Pearl, not the way the other three Richardson children did, she did however develop a strong bond with Peal’s mother, Mia. Izzy is a character I think everyone can relate to at times, she was amongst the highlights of this book. As the story progressed I found myself sympathizing with Izzy, she was a lonely kid, and as noted from those around her she was often treated differently from her siblings by her mother. She had a shaky relationship with her family, often being labeled as the impulsive, embarrassing child of the four. She didn’t seem to mind it at first, but the way she latched onto Mia and adored her illustrated a different story from the first impression we get of Izzy. She is incredibly smart and mature for someone her age, but we see how much she longed for some sort of strong familial love, which makes her so sad. She saw her family for the selfish and shallow people they were, even Moody (whom she held in high regard at the start of the novel). Mia gives her the affection she so deeply craved, and Izzy found any reason to be with her, as shown when she begs Mia to take her in as her assistant of sorts. She took Mia’s words at the end literally and took matters into her own hands, getting retribution for all the Richardsons had done to the Warrens by burning their house down and running away in hopes of catching up to the Warrens.
Mrs. Richardson was deeply flawed, as the story progressed we could see how she shed her image of the allegedly perfect mother and wife to this sad woman who really placed too much into the way people viewed her and her family, as shown in her treatment of Izzy. We do get a view as to why she treated Izzy the way she did, and the revelation was astounding because after all she had done to ensure Izzy’s safety, Izzy still ran away and it was largely her fault. Mrs. Richardson was quick to become angry, and when she became angry she made brash decisions. She digs into Mia’s past under the guise of caring for her friend, but she had no real justification for the enormous invasion of privacy committed. Mrs. Richardson, like her daughter, lives in a bubble, she chooses not to go to Oberlin because the protestors and more open environment. She is manipulative and uses Pearl to try and discover Mia’s secrets, which she does. Later, she uses Mia’s secrets to push her out of town unjustly, because she assumed that Pearl had gotten the abortion since Lexie registered under her name.
Bebe and the McCulloughs. This is where Ng really clarifies the racial differences in their society that they choose not to focus on. When the McCulloughs first learned they were able to adopt May Ling - or as they called her, Mirabelle - the only real effort they made to be able to raise her and keep her connection to her culture was to hang up “chinese” art in their home. They argue that as Mirabelle grows, they were going to learn Chinese and learn about her culture together, not really placing an emphasis on whether or not she really has a connection to her home culture. When Mrs. McCullough is called to the stand, she makes comments that have such a casual air of racism and prejudice to them when asked about how she and her husband were to ensure Mirabelle doesn’t lose touch with her culture, she eventually grows frustrated and argues that love is more important than growing up connected to Mirabelle’s culture. Ng creates a strong case, the McCulloughs were financially equipped to be able to support the little girl and they were the ones to raise her for the past fourteen months, whereas Bebe left her daughter in front of the fire-station, thus relinquishing her rights to the child to the state. Bebe however, argues that with her circumstances she did what she thought would be best for her daughter especially given the fact that she was not financially equipped to care for her daughter at the time, but now she had gotten her act together and had a steady full-time job, nothing compared to the McCullough’s salary, she says that she deserves a second chance seeing as though she was the real mother of May Ling. Ultimately, the judge decides that custody should be granted to the McCulloughs, but Bebe waits till they are asleep to take her child back and travel back to her home country where, they were not to be traced.
Mia’s backstory was finally revealed to us towards the end of the novel, and it was so fulfilling. Her story showed when she first became interested in art, the close-knit relationship she had with her younger brother Warren (whom she called Wren), it showed us her shaky relationship with her parents that eventually fell through once she showed up pregnant with the Ryan’s baby. We come to understand why she never wants to go to New York, and we get a glimpse of her life in New York as an art student. Her relationship with Pauline Hawthorne is explained and, it was a touching story, when she came back to New York upon learning that Pauline was sick, it broke my heart. I loved learning about Mia, mostly because she was such a mystery, but because it offered so many answers to questions I’ve wanted answered from the start of the novel. It showed us how she became a surrogate for the Ryan’s and how she, eventually, ran away with the child. And how, eventually she made her way to Shaker Heights.
There’s a lot more to be discussed, but I loved this book so much and it really touched me. Celeste’s writing was captivating, her story much more so.
With that being said, I’d like to address the reason why I gave this book four stars instead of five. I mentioned previously that I loved the shifting point of views (and I do), but the rate at which is shifted caused confusion for me as a reader. Sometimes I found myself rereading a passage because it shifted point of views in the midst of it. I think it could have been more tightly edited so that no confusion would occur for the reader.
Another important thing to be discussed is the trial. By the end of the sub-story it felt like there was still so much of it that could have been more fleshed out. All in all, the sub-plot felt rushed in a way and I would have greatly preferred it otherwise.
Lastly, Mia’s past. Maybe this is just me, but I would have really liked it if Mia’s story was spaced out in a way instead of compiled all into one chapter. It also felt like we were supposed to side with Mia no matter what she had done. It even offers an “excusable” backstory to the way Pearl grew up, which I wouldn’t have minded had Ng not justified it.
Overall, I really genuinely enjoyed reading this novel. The familial and platonic relationships were heartwarming, the characters were relatable in a way, and the plot was relatively well fleshed out and offered up all the answers the reader needed.

Hey guys!  Look who's keeping up with their schedule!  As promised here is the next part of Through Time and Space.  Go to my masterlist to see the other chapters.  Alright here we go!
________________________________________________________________
"Doctor, where are we?" I asked as the TARDIS landed roughly.
"Albion Hospital. This is supposedly where the alien was taken." He said opening the doors. "Come on, we have a mystery to solve." I smiled and followed him out in a store room that was definitely in a hospital. He unlocked the door with his sonic screwdriver. "Shush!"
"Doctor, yelling at your sonic screwdriver is not going to help anything." He gave me a slight glare. We made our way into a room that had a bunch of guys with weapons in it. We just stare at each other for a moment, then the soldiers grabbed their weapons and pointed them at us. Something then bursts out of the cooler, and the doctor lady screamed.
"Defense plan delta! Come on! Move! Move!" He led the soldiers out of the room to where the screams were heard. I followed suit. We made our way to the Mortuary, where the doctor lady was cowering by her desk.
"It's alive!" The lady said.
"Spread out. Tell the perimeter it's a lockdown." The doctor said, but the soldiers didn't move.
"My god, it's still alive." Even though I knew what was going on, I didn't know what I should do.
"Do it!" The doctor yelled. "Kate, take this first aid kit. She's bleeding. Stay here and don't leave please." He said heading out as well. I went over and knelt down next to the lady.
"Hi, my name's Kate. What is your name?"
"Dr. Sato." The lady said.
"Nice to meet you, Dr. Sato. Your wound doesn't look too bad luckily. Looks like you just need a bandaid. Is anything else wrong?"
"No." I cleaned her would and put a bandaid on it. Just then the Doctor came back in. After I was done, I sat down next to her.
"Dr. Sato, if you don't mind will you tell me what happened?" I asked putting a comforting hand on her shoulder.
"I swear it was dead." Dr. Sato said.
"Coma, shock, hibernation, anything. What does it look like?" The Doctor said as we heard some metal clattering. "It's still here." The Doctor went over to the door and gestured to a soldier who was standing by the door. "Watch over her please. Kate come here." I stood up and went over to him. Just then we noticed there was a pig-like creature behind a filing cabinet. "Hello." Just then the pig ran out on its hind legs. The weird part was it was wearing a spacesuit. The soldier raised his gun.
"Don't shoot!" Me and the Doctor yelled in unison. Just then a different soldier shot the pig.
"What did you do that for? It was scared! It was scared." I just glared at the soldier.
"I thought that was the alien!" The soldier said. "If that wasn't the alien, then what was it?" The Doctor went on to explain the meaning for the pig being like it was.
"I just assumed that's what aliens look like, but you're saying it's an ordinary pig from Earth." Sato said.
"More like a mermaid. Victorian showmen used to draw the crowds by taking the skull of a cat, gluing it to a fish and calling it a mermaid. Now someone's taken a pig, opened up its brain, stuck bits on, then they've strapped it in that ship and made it dive bomb. It must've been terrified. They've taken this animal and turned it into a joke."
"That is just awful." I said looking disgusted.
"Kate, can you tell me anything?" The Doctor looked at me hopeful.
"No, sorry I can't tell you. It might mess something up." I said sad.
"So, this is a fake, a pretend, like the mermaid. Aliens are faking aliens, but why would they do that? Doctor?" By the time she said that, we had left to go into the TARDIS. We then dematerialized from the hospital.
"Where we going now?" I asked. He didn't say anything. We materialized and after a bit Rose, Mickey, and Jackie walked into the TARDIS.
"All right, so I lied. Me and Kate went and had a look, but the whole crash landing's a fake. I thought so. Just too perfect. I mean, hitting Big Ben. Come on, so I thought let's go and have a look. Didn't I, Kate?" I just nodded my head. No sense in arguing right now.
"My mum's here." Rose said.
"Oh, that's just what I need. Don't you dare make this place domestic. The only domestic allowed is me and Kate." He said putting his arm around me.
"You ruined my life, you two. They thought she was dead. I was a murder suspect because of you!" Mickey said.
"You see what I mean? Domestic. There's only room for me and Kate and a companion in this TARDIS." I just rolled my eyes.
"I bet you don't even remember my name."
"Ricky." The Doctor said.
"Oh, I know!" I said excitedly. "Its Mickey!"
"Well, okay you know." Mickey said still mad.
"See, she always knows. She remembers so I don't." The Doctor said doing something with the console. Just then Jackie started walking out of the TARDIS.
"No! Mum!" Rose said as she started chasing after her mother. After a minute, Rose came back in. "So, that was a real spaceship?"
"Yep." Me and the Doctor said.
"So it's all a pack of lies? What is it, then? Are they invading?"
"Funny way to invade, putting the world on red alert."
"Good point! So, what're they up to?" The Doctor then started to go under the console to do something. "So, what're you doing down there?"
"Ricky."
"Mickey."
"Ricky. If I was to tell you what I was doing to the controls of my frankly magnificent time ship, would you even begin to understand?"
"I suppose not." Mickey walked over to where Rose was standing, and I walked over to the Doctor.
"Doctor, play nice." I said crossing my arms.
"I am! I'm just stating a fact."
"At least get his name right."
"I'm pretty sure its Ricky." I just rolled my eyes. After a bit, the Doctor popped up from under the console. "Got it! Ha, ha! Patched in the radar, looped it back twelve hours so we can follow the flight of that spaceship. Here we go. Hold on. Come on." The Doctor said as he was trying to fix the camera radar thing on the screen. He then pointed at the spaceship that was on the screen. "That's the spaceship on its way to Earth, see. Except, hold on. See? The spaceship did a sling shot around the Earth before it landed." The Doctor said playing the video.
"What does that mean?" Rose asked.
"It means it came from Earth. It went up and came back down." I said.
"The question is, what have they been doing?" The Doctor asked. After that, me, Mickey, and Rose were looking through the channels on the scanner thing while the Doctor was doing something.
"How many channels do you get?" Mickey asked.
"All the basic channels."
"You get sports channels?"
"Yes, I get the football. Kate that means soccer for you."
"You yanks and your soccer." Rose said sounding slightly disgusted.
"Hey, don't diss where I come from." I said crossing my arms. She just rolled her eyes. "I miss baseball. That's my favorite. You guys' baseball doesn't come close to good ole American baseball." I said going over to where the Doctor was because I felt very offended. Just as I had walked over, Mickey flipped the channel to the news.
"It is looking likely that the Government's bringing in alien specialists- those people who have devoted their lives to studying outer space." The lady on the tv said.
"UNIT. United Nations Intelligence Taskforce. Good people." The Doctor said. I nodded my head.
"How do you two know them?" Rose asked.
"'Cos they've worked for them. Oh yeah, don't think I sat on my backside for twelve months, Doctor. I read up on you and Kate. You look deep enough on the Internet or in the history books, and there's their names, followed by a list of the dead." I felt really sad that in the future I may cause lots of deaths. The Doctor noticed my behavior and pushed me behind him in a protective way.
"You can say anything you want about me, but don't drag Kate into anything that was and will be my fault. She hasn't done anything. This Kate is new to everything. You two keep bashing her, and I don't appreciate that." The Doctor said then went back to the console. I stood as close as I could to the Doctor. I grabbed his hand, and he gave a gentle squeeze letting me know he was there for me.
"If you know them, why don't you go and help?" Rose asked.
"They wouldn't recognize me. I've changed a lot since the old days. Kate looks a lot younger since the last time she saw them." I gave him a confused look. He just gave me a look that said don't ask. "Besides, the world's on knife-edge. There's aliens out there and fake aliens. We want to keep this alien out of the mix. I'm going undercover, and er, I'd better keep the TARDIS out of sight. Ricky, you've got a car. You can do some driving."
"Where to?"
"The roads are clearing. Let's go and have a look at that spaceship." We walked out of the TARDIS into a helicopter spotlight. The Doctor tightened his grip on my hand.
"Do not move! Step away from the box and raise your hands above your heads." A policeman said. We were surrounded. The Doctor just held onto my hand. Mickey ran off, and Jackie came out of the flat.
"Rose!" Jackie yells trying to get to Rose, but a policeman held her back.
"Raise your hands above your head. You are under arrest." I let go of the Doctor's hand and raised my hands. The Doctor did the same.
"Take me to your leader." He said as I rolled my eyes. Me, the Doctor, and Rose were crammed into the back of the police car with the Doctor in the middle.
"This is a bit posh. If I knew it was going to be like this, being arrested, I would have done it years ago." I rolled my eyes.
"Getting arrested isn't always like this." I said.
"And plus weren't got being arrested, we're being escorted." The Doctor said.
"Where to?" Rose asked.
"Where'd you think? Downing Street." The Doctor said.
"You're kidding."
"He's not." I said.
"10 Downing Street?"
"That's the one." The Doctor said.
"Oh my god, I'm going to 10 Downing Street? How come?"
"I hate to say it, but Mickey was right. Over the years, me and Kate have visited this planet a lot of times, and we've been, er, noticed."
"Now they need you?"
"Like it said on the news. They're gathering experts in alien knowledge, and who's the biggest experts of the lot?"
"Patrick Moore?"
"Apart from him."
"Oh, don't you just love it." Rose was still acting like I wasn't there.
"I'm telling you. Lloyd George, he used to drink me under the table. Who's the Prime Minister now?"
"How should I know? I missed a year." We finally got to Downing Street and there was a ton of press taking pictures of us. "Oh, my god." We were escorted into a waiting room of some sorts. After a bit, a man came in.
"Ladies and gentlemen, can we convene?" We moved towards the man. "Quick as we can, please. It's this way on the right, and can I remind you ID cards are to be worn at all times." He hands me and the Doctor an I.D. I was very surprised that I got one. "Here's your ID cards. I'm sorry, your companion doesn't have clearance." I looked at the Doctor, and he gave me a look that said he'll explain later.
"We don't go anywhere without our companion." The Doctor said. I nodded.
"You two are the code nine, not her." Wow I'm a code nine? "I'm sorry, Doctor, Kate. It is the Doctor and Kate isn't it? She'll have to stay outside."
"She's staying with us." The Doctor said frustrated.
"Look, even I don't have clearance to go in there. I can't let her in and that's a fact."
"It's all right. You two go." She said putting a hand on the Doctor. Jealousy went through me again. Just then I noticed a very important woman, who won't let you ever forget her name come up.
"Excuse me. Are you the Doctor and Kate?" Harriet Jones said.
"Sure." Me and the Doctor said.
"I just need a word in private."
"I suppose so. Come on Kate." He pointed at Rose. "Don't get in trouble." We left but Harriet didn't go with us. We entered the briefing room, and the Doctor started looking at some of the papers.
"What do they say?" I asked.
"Not a whole lot of anything of importance. Can you tell me anything?" He said looking at me hopefully. I just shook my head. He sighed. "I don't remember a whole lot of this adventure. Something doesn't feel right though." He then looked at me with wide eyes.
"Now, ladies and gentlemen, if I could have your attention, please." A man at the front of the room started saying. "As you can see from the summaries in front of you, the ship had one porcine occupant." I grabbed the Doctor's hand in fear.
"Of course, the really interesting bit happened three days ago, see, filed away under Any Other Business. The North Sea. A satellite detected a signal, a little blip of radiation, at one hundred fathoms, like there's something down there. You were just about to investigate and the next thing you know, this happens. Spaceships, pigs, massive diversion. From what?" The Doctor asked. I was even more terrified remembering what was happening. "If aliens fake an alien crash and an alien pilot, what do they get? Us. They get us. It's not a diversion, it's a trap." He squeezed my hand tightly and pulled me closer to him. "This is all about us. Alien experts. The only people with knowledge how to fight them gathered together in one room." There was a fart from the guy up front. "Excuse me, do you mind not farting while I'm saving the world?"
"Would you rather silent but deadly?" The man asked. The general removed his cap and unzipped his forehead. Suddenly the room was filled with blue light and the Slitheen wriggled out of his human suit.
"We are the Slitheen." The general said.
"Thank you all for wearing your ID cards. They'll help to identify the bodies." I had already took my ID card off and threw it behind me. I didn't know if I would survive the shock. Green held up a switch, and everyone's ID cards emit electric shocks to everyone wearing them. The shock going through the Doctor went through the hand I was holding and went through me too. Everything went black after that.

Live for you.
Life what’s it all about, That’s the question human beings have been asking themselves since they concept of life or death came into existence. We as people identify our lives by living but are we living a content life based on what we want or do we base it on what others wish for? Our identities as humans are so caught up with an ideation of what it means to be happy. Identity is so important for many people because it can be as important as status, wealth, privileges and even stereotypes. In Logic's album Everybody he talks or correctly raps about how people identify themselves and what the meaning of life is about in his own terms. So lets see what identity is really all about.
Hallelujah praise good the all mighty the most high alpha and omega in the sky.(Logic) this is the first song on the album and one of the lines that sticks with me the most. This song line about religion which is the most obvious to many people.  The title it's self is related to religion. As we know in America we have many people who are very religious and identify very highly with there religion. Many people's life actually surround church and being there almost 7 days a week. Which in tale isn't actually a problem until most people start talking about religion in the point were one person's religion is deemed better than someone else's. Many people love the idea that there religion is better than most. But in reality is it? No hold on before you start disagreeing with me and telling me that what I'm saying is purely bullshit, lets take one thing into consideration. We all live and die correct and most believe there something after. May that be reincarnation or may it be Heaven. The truth is that we live and we die and we aren't sure of many things we just prefer sticking to what we have been told. Religion is a structure that keeps us humble but can also make people also to high to believe that they may not be better than others.
AMERICA!!!!!!! The great country that is so advanced and has so much freedom and the people are the greatest in the world. Which is what Capital hill is still constantly selling. America the home of the free and the brave. So as an when it comes to nationality this is how the world is going to identify you. Now I'm going to mainly focus on America for this one. Because, let's face it Americans are truly the most proud of being from there nation even though we have some of the horrific history of demeaning people. Now if we went through everything America has done. Well lets be honest this essay would be to long. As American's we identify as being the best even though in reality we are the best in Military, Most people imprisoned per capita and people who believe angels exist.  There is a scene from the HBO show The Newsroom that talks about why america isn't the greatest country in the world anymore. We identify as being the greatest but we have lost, We have lost what has made Americans and America great. We have stopped the idea of being great or why intelligence is one of the most important things, we have lost our spirit when it comes to being great. Be belittle the minorities, we make laws that are killing our people, We are invading countries not to help but to take there resources,  Americans aren't number one anymore and we have lost that drive to be number one. When we identity as American What does that mean anymore ? If I say I'm A black girl from Southern California what do most people identify me as sadly as someone who should go back to africa. People in this country have taken a step in the wrong direction we have not progressed we have fallen from grace.  Being number one when you are a rich, white man, sitting on the backs of millions do you wish to identify as an American. We self identify in a country that sells freedom but there are 180 other countries that have freedom. So what is America selling it's people as? The Answer is a dream.
Take a moment imagine a sad moment that you had that made you question if you wanted to live anymore. Take the moment and replace it with moments that have filled you with joy and happiness. If you can't that's okay take a deep breath and slowly open your eyes. Imagine moments that make us sad is something as people we try to avoid by popping pills or not talking about it. We don’t wish to think about death or sad thoughts but there are people who do. Mental health is something we identify with a lot more now a days. Back in the days people avoided the subject because being "crazy" or having an issue was considered very taboo and was something many kept on the low. But now many people identify that they have mental health issues and that’s a good thing mainly because it's being identified that people aren't okay. This term I had my first major anxiety attack. I felt alone ,like my skin always had goosebumps on it and when sitting in a room full of people during a dungeons and dragons game that I felt to alone and exiled myself from talking to most of the people I knew. It wasn’t till I was in the elevator by myself that I broke down and I started hyperventilating and crying. When I finally got to my car I kept crying and freaking out, because I've never had one so bad in my life. I finally called my best friend and she helped me calm down and bring me back to being in a normal state. My stress of my grandmother's death, my mother stressing me out constantly and many other little factors finally hit all at once. Logic himself has a song that is called anxiety and felt as if he had almost died from it. He identifies as someone who has a mental health issue and its okay when people talk about it because then others can open and discuss and identify there problem.
Everybody is an album that identifies with some many people, People have identified with this album so much because no one feels left out he talks about America, death, creed, sexual orientation and many other things that make us people. We as people need identity as much as we need are to breathe people try to say I don’t want labels but we need labels as people. Because those labels identify us and makes us. Those words can describe everybody and that’s just the truth. So Open your mind and find who you are in this life and live this life as who you are. So I leave you with this, " Live your life. Don’t waste your days on the negative energy of others. Remember that you’re not your salary. You’re not your house. You’re not your car. And no matter how big your bank account is, your grave is six feet under just like everyone else’s. So enjoy the days you have. Worry not bout the days that came before you. Nor the ones that will follow you in death. Remember that right here in this moment is all you are guaranteed, and the fact that you are living is what life is all about. So live your life to the fullest, according to your happiness and the betterment of all."
