#EVGA Graphic Card

A few weeks ago, EVGA announced its exit from the graphics card market, which means that they were completely severing their relationship with NVIDIA and we would no longer see the company's cards in stores.which took immediate effect and left us without their version of the RTX 4090. However, as we can read on EVGA's own website (currently down), the development of the EVGA Precision X1 application has been continued.a program that competes with others such as MSI Afterburner in terms of overclocking or system monitoring needs, and that in general is still there as the NVIDIA API can be taken advantage of for these purposes. Just because EVGA has updated Precision X1 to support the RTX 4090 doesn't mean it will be the case with the rest of the cards in this series, such as the RTX 4080, although it possibly will be, just as it doesn't ensure support for cards like the RTX 5000 and later coming out of NVIDIA's oven. Be that as it may, it's a sign from the company that it's still there, and while it may not want to work with NVIDIA, we may see them again in some other product segment in a while.

bro your bg3 images look amazing, what’s your pc set-up? i’m looking to build or buy one next year 😤❤️
Thank you!! I custom built mine, it isn’t even super new or powerful I’m planning to upgrade fully in the next year. Here’s my setup details:
Tumblr media
AMD Ryzen 7 3rd Gen Processor
ASUS AM4 TUF GAMING X570-Plus ATX Motherboard
SAMSUNG 970 EVO M.2 2280 1TB PCIe Gen3. X4, NVMe 1.3 64L V-NAND 3-bit MLC Internal Solid State Drive
Seagate BarraCuda ST4000DM004 4TB 5400 RPM 256MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drives Bare Drive - OEM
EVGA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti SC ULTRA GAMING, 06G-P4-1667-KR, 6GB GDDR6, Dual Fan
G.SKILL Trident Z Neo (For AMD Ryzen) Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin
It’s pretty decent for gaming and light 3D rendering which is what I do. I don’t have any issues unless I turn on ray tracing and that is why I want to upgrade though I’m not in a big hurry because i would have to upgrade my power supply and motherboard if I want a new graphics card.

Common BSoD reasons (Blue Screen of DESU)
Your computer worked fine yesterday, and now it keeps crashing. Wa da heq?
The most common issues I've seen causing BSoD isn't malware, or even user error. Though they're not the least common causes either.
They're from updates pushed by developers.
Usually it's from some system update that manages your memory allocation incorrectly. Or processor execution errors and mishaps handled incorrectly.
But it is also quite common for a driver update to cause the same issue. And because Video Card drivers update monthly; they're the most likely cause of breakage.
To be fair; not updating your driver's can be just as hard as updating your driver's so it's important to know which driver configuration worked last.
And this is why Windows has system restore points.
Interestingly; one of the most common driver failures I've seen comes from Nvidia Graphics Driver failing to regulate the cards internal temperature appropriately.
There's usually an internal thermal switch that cuts off when the driver gets too hot which then throttles your graphics card and will cause crashing.
And this thermal switch can degrade over time. Which means your graphics card has a lower tolerance for heat than it should.
However; elevation and humidity can *also* cause the same issue. Which means your rig might operate differently in Detroit Mi than it does in Dallas TX, or even SLC UT.
And quite often devs try to reduce their tolerances for kicking in the graphics cards cooling fans; power saving conferences maybe.
And often the will wind up with your card running hotter than it should. This is why the EVGA tools (and other similar software tools) include manual fan controls.
Because the onboard regulation and default drivers tend to heck it all up.
But that's not the only issue I've seen with graphics cards; sometimes: the devs try to use more VRam than the card has. Or even less VRam and then just forget which blocks of VRam they set to be used by the system.
It can literally be fixed one day, and then unfixed and then next, and just toggle back and forth despite user complaints.
In fact; nearly any issue that is commonly considered "due to heating issues" can be traced back to driver issues for similar reasons to what I listed.
Incorrect memory usage, cooling regulation not appropriately modulated cooling modules, processor and graphics processor being sent incorrect commands.
Registry issues can also cause memory issues as certain blocks of memory get used by too many sources at the same time (but not often) multiple drivers trying to run the same hardware (which can also be caused by software creating extra instances of graphics level singleton interfaces)
So if you're ever wondering what could possibly be wrong with your PC, it's more likely a driver issue.
But... You could also have forgotten to install cooling modules, or decided to overclock your hardware without increasing cooling.
Or even overclocked your hardware too much.
But barring overclock; is most likely driver issues. I've even seen windows surface devices on their end of life updates get driver updates that break graphics, causing overheat and ghosting (leftover images) on the screen.
Which I feel like may have been on purpose.
Though locating an older driver, or installing Linux usually worked if no *real* hardware issue was present.

If you don't mind me asking what are the specs for your gaming pc? I'm interested in building my own pc for the same general purpose, and while none of the games I would be playing are as demanding as Genshin Impact, it would be nice to learn from other builds.
I'll be honest, I don't know what parts of it are actually important (when I say "built" I mean "a more knowledgeable friend walked me through picking everything out on PCPartPicker, then later walked me through putting the pieces together"), but the actual parts picked were:
Intel Core i7-10700F 2.9 GHz 8-Core Processor
Asus TUF GAMING H570-PRO WIFI ATX LGA1200 Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-2400 CL14 Memory
Samsung 860 Evo 4 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive
EVGA XC BLACK GAMING GeForce RTX 3060 12GB 12 GB Video Card
EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G6 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
PCPartPicker was super helpful for me, though I'd recommend double-checking their compatibility claims--they originally said that a different set of memory sticks would work in this setup, and then I started having crashes and found out that it was because they weren't actually on Asus' approved list to pair with that motherboard. Adding in the SSD, which I bought later, and without the cost of the case or monitor factored in, it ran me about $1800 total? But that was 2022 prices, so I don't know if it would be the same today.
This one runs Genshin Impact on its highest video settings, and nominally runs Baldur's Gate 3 on its highest as well, though I turned that down to medium because it was running extremely hot. (I did stick with air cooling because I was nervous about managing liquid cooling, but that might well have made it handle that better.) Those are my most graphically demanding games, so that's my benchmark! I'm less able to tell which are the most demanding on the CPU, but I play a lot of city-builders and it's dealt fine with all of them even when I go for the biggest maps, so it is... better than my old PC in that regard. XD

the other day i found out about framework laptops and found myself really, really wanting one. like next laptop i get, easily. it got me on a kick wanting new tech shit though. so i've also been watching pc building things and various ""tech fails"" and watching for a ps5 because i haven't done that for a while. all that reminded me a) i haven't cleaned my pc in years b) i haven't really finagled my gpu since i haven't run into a wall. somehow i forgot evga has software in addition to nvidia and now the color of my graphics card's leds correspond to temp. and i'm capable of overclocking both my cpu and gpu if i ever feel like i need it. updating the software fucked with my color balance though so i had to redo that, and in the process i decided to change system themes and raised my monitors up six inches to keep my posture better. But this is making me ~aware of the space between the monitor stands in a way that makes me want to get a 2k or 4k monitor to sit between them and turn them 90°
why is it so much easier to redecorate virtual space like retheming and whatever than cleaning/redecorating physical spaces like rooms

Computing on a Budget
I wanted to talk about the story of my old computer.
On July 23, 2008 I acquired a Dell Vostro 200 from the Dell Outlet website. This computer cost around $800 (with an extended warranty) at the time. I was looking for something low cost that I thought was capable of running games, and could be used for future projects
Tumblr media
The computer came with the following specs: CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 GPU: Intel GMA RAM: 4x 1GB DDR2 Storage: 80GB Western Digital Black HDD OS: Windows XP Professional
And at first, this computer turned out to be a pretty good powerhouse for my needs. I knew it wasn't the best computer by any means. But with the budget I was on, it would get the job done. Plus my mom helped out with around half the cost as a high school graduation present.
Later on, I decided to purchase The Orange Box as I wanted to look into playing games like Portal and Team Fortress 2. And while I was able to get Portal to work, when I tried to join a game in Team Fortress 2, the game would simply crash on me. It turned out that to run 3D graphics like that, the built-in Intel GMA card was not going to cut it.
So, I took a trip to my local Best Buy. Taking a look at the graphics cards they had on sale, I found one I could afford for around $60. The Galaxy NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS.
Tumblr media
And it worked... but just barely. Later on I started to expand my Steam library. And there was on game in particular that gave me some trouble with this card. Left 4 Dead 2. It turned out that the 8400GS isn't great a drawing hundreds of zombies on screen at once. And my system would lag any time a horde would start chasing my party. But I still kept this card going for as long as I could, cause I couldn't really afford to upgrade. That and any money I did have for upgrades went to other accessories like drawing tablets, and a desk to house everything in.
Tumblr media
Don't let that picture fool you though. Everything here was done on the cheap.
On January 18, 2013, I installed a 1TB Western Digital Green HDD into this computer and installed Windows 8 as a secondary operating system. And yes, I know that the WD Green drive was not the best option as it only ran at 5400RPM. But again, this was on a budget. And plus my dad offered to buy it for me for Christmas the previous month. I also managed to get Windows 8 for a low price, as Microsoft was offering the Pro version for only $75 at the time. I managed to pickup the license from Target using some gift cards I acquired over Christmas as well. I later performed the free upgrade to Windows 8 on October 18, 2013.
Around Memorial Day weekend that year, I ended up getting hired by an electronics retailer, and a bit more money started coming in as a result.
On April 8, 2014, Microsoft officially discontinued security updates on Windows XP. A month or so prior, after fiddling around with rebuilding the Master Boot Record on the drive I had Windows 8 installed on. I retired the WD Black drive that had run Windows XP for me since 2008.
Some time around July 4th of 2014, I woke the computer up from sleep mode and heard this really nasty grinding noise. It turns out, that little fan running the 8400GS finally gave out after years of trying to run games it couldn't handle very well. So I knew it was time to not only replace that, but to start thinking about replacing the whole computer, now that I had a bit more money in the budget.
Looking at my options for cards. I didn't want to go with the "latest and greatest" since I knew the computer was starting to age. So, I went with an EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GT 630. On the box it recommended that it be run with a 500W or greater power supply. The one that the Vostro came with was only 300W. So, I also ended up swapping out the power supply with a Thermaltake TR2-600W power supply unit.
Finally, on April 30, 2015, I retired the Vostro 200 after I decided to build my own computer.
So, why do I bring up this story?
The reason I wanted to talk about this is because I know there are a lot of people out there that are computing on a budget. Something I constantly run into during my career as a computer technician are people telling me they can't afford the latest and greatest. That upgrades don't typically happen until they become absolutely necessary. And that's something I can understand and sympathize with.
And while I've stressed the importance of upgrades as time goes on in the world of computing. I also understand that there's times when we need to keep the current technology in front of us working for as long as possible. So when people come to me saying "I can't afford a big upgrade right now" I always try to do my best to let them know "what can we fix", "what can't we fix", "what parts can be saved", and "what parts need to be replaced."
And if you're finding yourself in this situation right now. The one thing I want to say is, don't worry. At the end of the day, acquiring computers parts can be very simple and inexpensive if you know where to look.

WoW Cataclysm Classic 's previous closed beta helped the game climb up the ranks of Steam's best-selling games when pre-ordering it gave you access to WoW cataclysm Gold the beta immediately. During the betaperiod, over 200,000 gamers played the game's world of Aeternum all at once. The beta also caused some graphics cards to stop working and this issue is now fixed.
The launch of WoW Cataclysm Classic would be significant for Amazon that, so far, hasn't had many successes in the world of developing video games. An earlier Bloomberg report revealed mismanagement at Amazon Game Studios, and the previous game from Amazon, Crucible, actually went back into closed beta after its official launch, prior to being completely canceled. Following the demise of Crucible, the players on the Crucible team decided to focus on aiding in getting WoW Cataclysm Classic out the doors. The game was originally scheduled to launch this year, WoW Cataclysm Classic saw several delays due to the impact of COVID-19 epidemic on the development of the game, and Amazon making use of the delay to create additional content for the game.
WoW Cataclysm Classic Reportedly Causing GPU issues for some Players Once More
There's been a brand new report from amazon's MMO WoW Cataclysm Classic causing graphics cards to stop working or completely fail. The same issue was reported during the beta phase of WoW Cataclysm Classic during which RTX 3090s were crashing in part because of the settings menu not having a limit on framerate. The issue appeared to be limited to EVGA cards and were swiftly replaced.
According to PC Gamer, it seems that the EVGA RTX 3090 FTW Ultra card as well as the Gigabyte RX 3080 Ti are reported to be experiencing issues and, in some instances. The reports, along with other graphics cards that have crashed appear to be popping up on Reddit as well as the WoW Cataclysm Classic forums. PowerGPU has also issued an announcement on Twitter that it is receiving reports of failing GPUs.
WoW Cataclysm Classic - Official Launch
In response to a request for clarification on the issue, an Amazon spokesperson denied that they have any additional information about the issue.
Winfuture (via PC Gamer) stated that it experienced issues with the GPU RTX 3090 due to buy Cataclysm Classic Gold various methods used in the game which could put additional strain upon the graphics card. These increases result in the GPU to overheat and, for Winfuture it can cause the card to be bricked. card. One of the places that this happens in appears to lie in the setting menu. When a graphic setting is altered, the game performs an intense refresh and then refreshes the entire scene which is said to put extra stress upon the graphics processor.

Nvidia RTX 3080 Review: Still Worth It?
Tumblr media
Best Nvidia RTX 3080
A decent gaming experience can be had with the Nvidia RTX 3080 despite its age. Once rare, it became readily accessible and somewhat more expensive in 2024, making it an excellent value. As the RTX 40 series arrived, it was no longer one of the best graphics cards, but if one was available at a reasonable price, it was still worth a look.
Nvidia Geforce RTX 3080 Price
In 2020, the Nvidia RTX 3080 cost $699, but the pandemic made it hard to find until Ada architecture graphics cards were debuted two years later. 2024 Amazon and Newegg RTX 3080s cost $500 new or used. At that pricing, this GPU with 10GB or 12GB VRAM is worth consideration.
The pricing of the 3080 seems affordable in comparison to the RTX 4080, whose MSRP has climbed to $1,199. This makes 80-class hardware more difficult to defeat. Better deals on the RTX 4070 Super and 4070 Ti Super, which retail for $599 and $799 respectively, are comparable. This could enable the generation of DLSS 3 frames.
Nvidia Geforce RTX 3080 Specs
The GA102 chip’s Nvidia RTX 3080 features 8,704 CUDA cores and 10GB or 12GB of 320-bit GDDR6X VRAM. AI-powered Nvidia DLSS 2 upscaling uses 272 Tensor cores and 68 second-generation ray tracing cores. This GPU promised 4K performance with 760.3 GB/s bandwidth and 19 Gbps effective memory.
At 1,440 MHz for base clock and 1,710 MHz for boost, the top-tier Ampere GPU in the Nvidia Founders model model may run at speeds up to those of select partner cards. The ASUS ROG Strix RTX 3080 allows for an overclock to 1935 MHz, including the review unit. When making your selection, be mindful that certain companion cards are more expensive than others.
ASUS Nvidia Geforce RTX 3080 ROG Strix
Nvidia’s RTX 3080 Design
Measuring 11.2 x 4.4 x 1.6 inches (LxWxH) and sporting a 320W TDP, the dual-slot Nvidia RTX 3080 Founders Edition GPU necessitates a minimum of 700W PSU. A partner card will determine this, since the ASUS ROG Strix is a triple-slot GPU designed for overclocking that has a larger heatsink and triple fan arrangement.
Originally, Nvidia used a special converter in their Ampere graphics card family. Instead of using standard PCIe power connectors in this specific case, a 12-pin power adaptor was used. Nevertheless, it’s crucial to remember that certain partner cards could need two or three conventional power connections. There are many of options available to you whether buying new or refurbished, with brands like Gigabyte, MSI, EVGA, and others offering 10GB and 12GB variants.
Nvidia RTX 3080 gaming performance
In tests conducted over four years after its introduction, the Nvidia RTX 3080 has not slowed down. Ray tracing enabled at 2160p, it achieves much more than 60 frames per second in 4K in popular games like CS:GO, Dirt 5, Doom Eternal, and Fortnite. In other words, it’s impressive and suggests that you won’t need DLSS 3 Frame Generation to play smoothly.
Synthetic RTX 3080 performance
In demanding virtual benchmarks like as 3DMark and Blender, the Nvidia RTX 3080 exhibits exceptional performance, proving its potency in these domains. Though it can’t quite match the performance of its predecessors from the Ada architecture family, there’s no denying the level of knowledge this graphics processing unit (GPU) can boast. It seems that both artists and filmmakers will surely be able to get some use out of this GPU, which is to be expected given the cheap pricing it is now giving for this year.
To sum up
The Nvidia RTX 3080 from Nvidia is a great improvement over GTX models thanks to its second-generation RT cores, which enhance real-time ray tracing over the RTX 2080 Ti. Native and DLSS frame rates are far higher even on the best game screens with DisplayPort and HDMI. It may be almost impossible to get a Founders Edition card these days, but there are still certain partner cards that can be purchased at a discounted price.
Ampere architecture’s memory bandwidth is still beneficial for personal computer games even when Frame Generation is absent. Particularly when considering Deep Learning Super Sampling, even the most well-known games are still being designed with the older models in mind. Apart from that, you should not have to worry about upgrading for a few years at least. Just remember that you should pair it with a high-end Intel Core or AMD Ryzen central processor unit to avoid any potential bottlenecking. When apps like Nvidia Reflex and others made specifically for broadcasters and video producers are included, this is compounded by two.
Nvidia RTX 3080 substitutes
As previously said, the best substitutes for the RTX 3080 are the RTX 4070 Super and 4070 Ti Super, which bridge the mid-range price difference between Ada and the product while maintaining/improving performance. Performance is provided by an AMD RX 7700 XT, which costs $450. Costing $999, the RTX 4080 Super offers additional power and playability comparable to that of an 80-class GPU.

"The market value and growth rate of the Graphic Cards industry are thoroughly examined in the Globa

[ad_1] The general public who're available in the market for a brand new graphics card have one number one query in thoughts: Which card will give me essentially the most bang for my dollar? Clearly, the solution will range relying for your funds. Past that, there are a variety of things to  imagine: Uncooked efficiency is essential, however so are such things as noise, the motive force enjoy, and supplemental tool. And do you wish to have to pay a top rate to get in at the bleeding fringe of real-time ray tracing? Allow us to make it simple for you. We’ve examined just about each primary GPU that’s hit the streets over the last couple of years, from $100 funds playing cards to $1,800 luxurious fashions. Our wisdom has been distilled into this text—a purchasing information with tips about which graphics card to shop for, it doesn't matter what kind of enjoy you’re in search of. Word: There are personalized variations of each graphics card from a bunch of distributors. As an example, you'll be able to purchase other GeForce GTX 3080 fashions from EVGA, Asus, MSI, and Zotac, amongst others. We’ve connected to our whole evaluate for every advice, however the purchasing hyperlinks result in fashions that hew intently to every graphics card’s MSRP. Spending further can get you hefty out-of-the-box overclocks, beefier cooling techniques, and extra. Take a look at our “What to look for in a custom card” phase underneath for recommendations on how to select a custom designed card that’s best for you. Graphics card information It’s all however inconceivable to seek out graphics playing cards presently, particularly at sane costs. Our explainer of the perfect GPU storm reveals why. The GeForce RTX 30-series and Radeon RX 6000-series bought out straight away and stay scarce within the face of overwhelming call for, with scalpers and bots snatching them up simply as greedily as fans. Call for is so excessive that even older-generation graphics playing cards are promoting for greater than they value new, years in the past, normally. When you’re caught with no graphics card, imagine trying Nvidia’s free GeForce Now cloud streaming or a next-gen gaming console instead to tide you over. Nvidia simply introduced a new RTX 3080 tier for GeForce Now that now not simplest will give you unique get entry to to stated hardware, but in addition provides nifty options like longer 8 hour play classes and 1440p, 120Hz streams, in addition to 4K HDR streams on Nvidia’s Protect TV console. It prices $100 for 6 months—steep, to make certain, however so much less expensive than the $1,500 to $2,000 you’d drop on a brand new RTX 3080 on Ebay at the present time.  Extra inexpensive graphics playing cards might begin to fill out this era quickly. Nvidia not too long ago introduced the GeForce RTX 3050 and 3050 Ti for mainstream laptops—the primary time in contemporary reminiscence a brand new GeForce GPU debuted in laptops moderately than desktops. They would possibly not finish up in desktops, on the other hand, as a recent flurry of rumors (and ECC filings) recommend Nvidia make goal the mainstream marketplace with a revived RTX 2060 wielding 12GB of reminiscence, as an alternative. Huh. AMD additionally simply introduced its non-XT Radeon RX 6600, the primary true 1080p graphics card of this era—regardless that at $329, it’s now not precisely priced for the loads.Extra aid will probably be at the method quickly (regardless that now not too quickly) within the type of a 3rd contender. Intel not too long ago took the wraps off its hotly anticipated “Arc Alchemist” GPUs, constructed at the corporate’s Xe structure. Those gamer-focused graphics playing cards—Intel’s first stab at discrete shopper GPUs—someday within the first quarter of 2022, whole with hardware-based ray tracing reinforce and XeSS, an AI-based image upsampling tool constructed to rival Nvidia’s DLSS tech. When you’re fortunate sufficient to discover a fairly priced Radeon graphics card, AMD will now toss in a free month of Xbox Game Pass for PC.
Need to dive even deeper into your hardware? We’ve not too long ago printed guides explaining how to benchmark your graphics card and how to turn on AMD’s Smart Access Memory for quicker gaming efficiency, in addition to an explainer on Nvidia’s “Lite Hash Rate” anti-mining technology.Highest funds graphics card Editor’s observe: Call for is during the roof for graphics playing cards presently. More moderen fashions promote out straight away and ceaselessly value masses of bucks greater than MSRP. Even older-generation graphics playing cards are promoting for greater than what they value new, years in the past. We will be able to’t counsel other folks purchase graphics playing cards at the ones markups, however if you happen to’re fortunate sufficient to seek out inventory at MSRP, this information will have to lend a hand. Word that costs underneath speak about MSRP, because it’s inconceivable to stick present with nowadays’s risky pricing. The following-gen Nvidia GeForce RTX 30-series and AMD Radeon RX 6000-series have not begun to trickle right down to funds markets, an comprehensible twist given how much graphics cards currently sell for. And with even historical used graphics playing cards promoting for masses of bucks, it’s nearly inconceivable to snag a graphics card on the cheap presently. Believe trying Nvidia’s free GeForce Now cloud streaming or a next-gen gaming console instead to tide you over. The new RTX 3080 tier of GeForce Now delivers a top-shelf gaming enjoy in case your Web connection can stay up, however prices $100 for 6 months, so it might not be the most efficient funds possibility. Thankfully, the Precedence tier with RTX 2080-class efficiency prices part that, and there’s additionally a loose tier that runs on more or less RTX 2060-grade hardware. If you wish to have an area PC gaming answer the ones clearly gained’t lower it regardless that. Your highest wager is to select up certainly one of AMD’s game-ready Ryzen 5000G APUs, which stay in inventory in both DIY form and inside numerous prebuilt systems. “You'll be able to construct a Ryzen 5 5700G gadget nowadays and get exceptional CPU efficiency along side OK gaming efficiency,” we stated in our review. Sure, you’ll want to dial down some graphics choices for the most efficient efficiency, however you’ll be capable of play esports video games or even triple-A titles at a good clip at 720p or 1080p solution. At $259 for the Ryzen 5 5600GRemove non-product link and $369 for the Ryzen 7 5700GRemove non-product link, they aren’t precisely reasonable, particularly because you’ll additionally want a motherboard to plop them into, however remember the fact that you’re getting each a CPU and a attainable GPU stand-in for the fee. And hi there, they’re if truth be told in inventory. Highest 1080p graphics card Editor’s observe: Call for is during the roof for graphics playing cards presently. The following-gen Nvidia GeForce RTX 30-series and AMD Radeon RX 6000-series have not begun to trickle right down to extra mainstream worth issues, an comprehensible twist given how much graphics cards currently sell for. That stated, the Radeon RX 6600 is a superb possibility for superb 1080p gaming at 60 frames according to moment or upper, assuming you’re prepared to spend $330 or extra for 1080p gaming, a value that will be thought to be completely outrageous pre-pandemic. (You may well be purchasing a console or turning to cloud gaming as an alternative.
) AMD’s GPU is the primary true 1080p/60 graphics card of this era, and it boasts excessive energy potency that is helping stay it working cool and quiet on your machine, regardless that it isn’t the most suitable option if you happen to’re hoping to turn on ray tracing. The (ostensibly) $330 GeForce RTX 3060 is a good possibility for prime refresh charge 1080p gaming if you'll be able to get your fingers on one, whilst the $379 Radeon RX 6600 XT is even quicker but. They’re overkill if you happen to’re gaming on a typical 60Hz show, on the other hand, and going for $500 to $800 at the streets, so you could have a greater time discovering a Radeon RX 6600 or an older, much less robust GPU if you happen to’re missing a excessive refresh charge show. Each would even be uninspiring as a result of their excessive sticky label costs if the GPU marketplace wasn’t completely bonkers presently. If you'll be able to in finding an RTX 3060 at MSRP, it’s a better choice than the identically priced Radeon RX 6600—it’s quicker, has 4GB extra VRAM, and handles ray tracing higher—however in the true global you’re almost definitely going to need to spend $675 or extra to get one. Gross. The GeForce RTX 1660, 1660 Super, and 1660 Ti are all excellent 1080p gaming choices for 60Hz panels, as is AMD’s older Radeon RX 5600 XT and 5700. The GeForce RTX 2060 may be value bearing in mind if you wish to have ray tracing and DLSS functions. Even older choices just like the Radeon RX 580 and 590 or Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1060 can do in a pinch, regardless that you’ll want to make some visible compromises as they’re actually beginning to display their age. Highest 1440p graphics card Editor’s observe: Call for is during the roof for graphics playing cards presently. When you’re taking a look to power a 1440p show at 60-plus frames according to moment (and ceaselessly a lot upper) without a graphical compromises, Nvidia’s $400 GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is a “nearly flawless” possibility. It’s quicker than final era’s $800 RTX 2080 Tremendous—the second one maximum robust GPU on the planet till a couple of months in the past. “That efficiency paired with 8GB of GDDR6 reminiscence makes the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti an unbelievable 1440p gaming possibility,” we stated in our evaluate. “It exceeds the hallowed 60-frames-per-second mark in each recreation examined at that solution, even with essentially the most strenuous visible settings enabled. It flies way past that mark in different video games, and it should not have any drawback preserving 90 fps+ at 1440p in maximum titles if you happen to don’t thoughts acting minor tuning on graphics choices.” The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti plays ray tracing higher than AMD’s most costly GPUs, thank you in no small section to Nvidia’s unbelievable DLSS 2.0 generation. It’s additionally in a position to advantageous 4K gaming, however the 8GB of reminiscence may just grasp it again destiny 4K video games. When you've got a 120Hz+ 1440p track, the $500 GeForce RTX 3070 may be value bearing in mind, nevertheless it’s simplest 9 % to fifteen % quicker than the RTX 3060 Ti at 1440p relying at the recreation for 25 % extra money. That makes the RTX 3060 Ti a better choice for the general public, regardless that the RTX 3070’s efficiency spice up is also profitable if you happen to grasp onto your graphics playing cards for a particularly very long time ahead of upgrading once more. The
$600 GeForce RTX 3070 Ti could be very somewhat quicker than that, even if it comes with a lot quicker GDDR6X reminiscence. The general public will have to get the 3060 Ti if they may be able to in finding one at a semi-reasonable worth. The GeForce RTX 3070 (and 3060 Ti) simplest has 8GB of GDDR6 reminiscence. That may not be sufficient for 4K gaming going ahead, nevertheless it’s advantageous for 1440p in maximum situations—however now not all. Watch Canines Legion, as an example, makes use of greater than 8GB of VRAM at 1440p if you happen to crank up the graphics settings and activate real-time ray tracing. When you’re leery, imagine purchasing the $580 Radeon RX 6800 instead. You pay a bit of extra for a bit of quicker efficiency, however extra importantly, AMD loaded the Radeon RX 6800 with an abundant 16GB of GDDR6 reminiscence. Nvidia’s RTX 30-series playing cards are a lot, a lot higher at ray tracing, on the other hand—and $80 less expensive. The step-down AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT comes with 12GB of VRAM. It delivers tremendous 1440p gaming efficiency that’s slightly bit quicker than the RTX 3060 Ti, however at $479 and up, it’s priced extra in-tune with the RTX 3070, and that comparability does it no favors.  Turning again to Nvidia, the $330 GeForce RTX 3060 additionally gives an abundant 12GB of reminiscence (thank you for the marketplace force, AMD!) along side a excellent entry-level 1440p enjoy. You could want to flip down the graphics settings a bit of in particularly intense video games to hit 60fps, however this should not have any drawback surpassing that hallowed goal in each identify.  When you’re taking a look to max out a excessive refresh-rate 1440p track, or power a 3440×1440 ultrawide track, Nvidia’s $700 GeForce RTX 3080 and AMD’s $650 Radeon RX 6800 XT are stellar choices that business blows in uncooked efficiency. Even with all of the visible settings cranked to Extremely, those monstrous playing cards ship above 100fps at 1440p solution around the 10+ video games we examined, and ceaselessly neatly above. The RTX 3080 and Radeon RX 6800 XT ship over 50 % extra efficiency than the RTX 2080 as a baseline around the board and beat even the RTX 2080 Ti via a wholesome margin. All of those choices also are rapid sufficient to play ray traced video games at a easy clip at 1440p—one thing you couldn’t say with older RTX 20-series playing cards. You could want to tweak some visible choices again when enabling ray tracing on AMD’s playing cards, on the other hand, whilst quicker RT cores and DLSS generation imply you gained’t want to make the similar sacrifices with Nvidia’s GPU. AMD holds the reminiscence capability edge as soon as once more, on the other hand, at 16GB of GDDR6 as opposed to 10GB of GDDR6X within the RTX 3080, however that shouldn’t topic an excessive amount of at 1440p solution. Don’t purchase the RTX 3080 or Radeon RX 6800 if you happen to simplest have a 60Hz 1440p track. They’re dear overkill until you may have a 120Hz-plus 1440p track that may put it ludicrous speeds to excellent use. They’re a advantageous pairing with a 60Hz 3440×1440 ultrawide show, regardless that, as that upper solution is extra challenging. Highest 4K graphics card The similar issues we indexed about last-gen playing cards in our 1440p phase proceed right here. The coming of the brand new era of Radeon and GeForce GPUs in an instant grew to become most high-end cards from before into horrible values, and prices for all graphics cards are crazy presently, however you may have extra choices amongst top rate GPUs if you happen to’re fortunate sufficient to get your fingers on one. The largest concerns between AMD and Nvidia up right here within the excessive finish? Ray tracing and reminiscence capability. AMD’s Radeon 6000-series GPUs include huge 16GB reminiscence swimming pools that are meant to maintain the whole lot video games throw at them for the foreseeable destiny. Against this, Nvidia wasn’t reasonably
as beneficiant with the reminiscence in its RTX lineup, and a few uncommon, particularly strenuous video games are already pushing GeForce VRAM limits. However the RTX 30-series be offering hugely awesome ray tracing efficiency, each in uncooked horsepower and with the large uplift supplied via DLSS 2.0 supersampling, which AMD these days has no resolution for. Ray tracing is selecting up steam now that it’s within the next-gen consoles however stays slightly uncommon in nowadays’s video games, on the other hand. Select your poison; those are all tremendous graphics playing cards. When you’re on a $500 funds, or seeking to energy a 60Hz 4K track, the $500 GeForce RTX 3070 is value bearing in mind. It’s simply as rapid as the previous $1,200 RTX 2080 Ti flagship and exceeds or flirts with the 60fps mark in maximum—however now not all—video games at 4K solution with graphics settings maxed out. Be warned that you just’ll want to dial the visuals in some video games again to hit 60fps, regardless that, and the cardboard can fight if you happen to activate ray tracing in video games that reinforce it. The RTX 3070’s modest 8GB reminiscence buffer isn’t more likely to be very future-proof both, as some video games already exceed that capability at 4K, so we imagine Nvidia’s $500 card higher for prime refresh charge 1440p gaming, or 4K gaming with some small possible high quality compromises. Top graphics settings nonetheless glance tremendous at 4K, regardless that the 8GB of VRAM would make me leery about purchasing the RTX 3070 as a long-term 4K gaming answer. The $600 GeForce RTX 3070 Ti has quicker GDDR6X reminiscence and somewhat extra horsepower so it handles 4K a bit of higher than its non-Ti namesake, regardless that all of the identical caveats most often exist for that card as neatly. When you don’t wish to make the ones occasional graphics high quality tweaks or fear about whether or not 8GB of reminiscence will probably be sufficient for 4K gaming in a 12 months or two, imagine AMD’s $580 Radeon RX 6800 as an alternative. It’s a bit of quicker than the RTX 3070 and springs with a beneficiant 16GB of GDDR6 reminiscence. AMD’s Sensible Get admission to Reminiscence generation additionally provides Radeon RX 6000-series graphics playing cards an extra pace spice up when paired with a Ryzen 5000 processor in an X570 motherboard. If you wish to have even quicker efficiency, or have a excessive refresh charge 4K track, step as much as the $650 Radeon RX 6800 XT or $700 GeForce RTX 3080. They kick ass, take names, and business efficiency blows. There are not any video games in our take a look at suite that fail to transparent a 60-frames-per-second moderate at 4K solution with all conceivable visuals results enabled on those playing cards, and so they ceaselessly exceeds that mark via a ways.  The GeForce RTX 3080 and Radeon RX 6800 XT spit out frames as much as 80 % quicker than the RTX 2080 in different video games at 4K, and 60 % upper within the others. They’re more or less 30 % quicker than the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, the $1,200 previous-gen flagship, and a ridonkulous 100 to 160 % quicker than the older GeForce GTX 1080. The overpowering horsepower makes those superb choices for 3440×1440 ultrawide gaming, too. The characteristic variations are particularly key right here. The Radeon RX 6800 XT packs a future-proof 16GB of GDDR6 reminiscence, as opposed to 10GB of quicker GDDR6X reminiscence within the RTX 3080. However Nvidia’s ray tracing benefit shines even brighter at the high-end, as its second-gen RT cores and DLSS generation permit 4K gaming with ray tracing enabled. AMD’s playing cards merely can’t play ray traced video games past 1440p with out body charges slowing to a move slowly. Shifting up but upper, the much more monstrous GeForce RTX 3090 “BFGPU” wields 10,496 CUDA cores, SLI connectors, and a large 24GB of that fast GDDR6X reminiscence. It’s a surprising price for creators who can faucet into all that
VRAM, and will reach 60fps gaming at a daft 8K solution in a handful of video games, nevertheless it’s simplest about 10 to fifteen % quicker than the RTX 3080 at 4K for over two times the fee. The general public will have to get the RTX 3080 as an alternative for a still-superb 4K enjoy, however there’s no denying the GeForce RTX 3090 is the quickest gaming card on the earth—regardless that AMD’s $999 Radeon RX 6900 XT hopes to problem that declare when it releases on December 8. In a wonder twist, Nvidia’s personal Founders Edition cooler is exceptional, which makes it a greater purchase than custom cards for the reason that FE fashion sells on the card’s $1,499 MSRP, moderately than coming with a steep top rate. We’ve were given 3440×1440 ultrawide benchmarks for the RTX 3090, too. When you’re prepared to spend 4 figures on a graphics card regardless that, your highest wager is the $1200 GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. It’s simply as rapid because the 3090 necessarily, however knocks $300 off the fee tag via shedding the GDDR6X reminiscence capability from a daft 24GB right down to a still-great-for-4K 12GB. For the primary time in a very long time, AMD gives a rival to Nvidia’s flagship GeForce GPU, nevertheless it’s exhausting to counsel the $1,000 Radeon RX 6900 XT regardless of its steep cut price towards the RTX 3090. It’s simplest two % slower than the RTX 3090 at 1440p gaming, so it might be value bearing in mind for a high-refresh charge 1440p track, or for powering a 3440×1440 ultrawide experience, the place it plays really well. It may be a forged possibility for Linux customers, since AMD drivers carry out with a lot much less headache there. And this card additionally gives a lot more overclocking headroom than rival GeForce GPUs if you happen to’re into hardcore tweaking.  However the Radeon RX 6900 XT loses to the RTX 3090 via over 9 % at 4K gaming, and because AMD doesn’t be offering a DLSS rival, ray traced video games are restricted to 1440p solution—a bummer in a four-figure graphics card. And the $650 Radeon RX 6800 XT is sort of as rapid for $350 much less, whilst the $700 RTX 3080 is largely as rapid at 4K with a lot better ray tracing efficiency. That is an unbelievable graphics card, and it’s superb to peer AMD competing towards Nvidia on the excessive finish after a protracted absence, however the Radeon RX 6900 XT doesn’t carve out a robust area of interest for itself. Scorching-rodded customized variations of this GPU may just grasp a large number of possible once they hit the streets, regardless that. What to search for in a customized card If you wish to store past the scope of our alternatives, know that discovering the appropriate graphics card may also be difficult. Quite a lot of distributors be offering custom designed variations of each GPU. As an example, you'll be able to purchase other Radeon RX 6700 XT fashions from Sapphire, XFX, Asus, MSI, and PowerColor. To lend a hand slender down the choices and in finding the appropriate card for you, you will have to imagine the next issues when doing all of your analysis: Overclocks: Upper-priced customized fashions are ceaselessly overclocked out-of-the-box to various levels, which may end up in upper efficiency. Most current customized playing cards be offering the similar very important point of efficiency,on the other hand. Cooling answers: Many graphics playing cards are to be had with customized coolers that decrease temperatures and fan noise. The overwhelming majority carry out neatly. Liquid-cooled graphics playing cards run even cooler, however require further room within your case for the tubing and radiator. Keep away from graphics playing cards with single-fan, blower-style cooling techniques if you'll be able to lend a hand it, until you may have a small-form-factor PC or plan on the use of customized water-cooling blocks. Dimension: Many graphics playing cards are of a an identical measurement, however longer and shorter fashions of many GPUs exist.
Top-end graphics playing cards are beginning to recreation particularly huge customized cooling answers to tame their enthusiast-class GPUs. Double-check that your preferred graphics card will are compatible on your case before you purchase. Compatibility: No longer all hardware helps quite a lot of connectivity choices. Upper-end graphics playing cards might lack DVI ports, whilst lower-end displays might lack DisplayPorts. Simplest essentially the most trendy Radeon and GeForce graphics playing cards reinforce HDMI 2.1 outputs. Make sure that your graphics card and track can attach to one another. Likewise, be sure that your energy provide meets the advisable wattage for the graphics card you select. Actual-time ray tracing and DLSS: AMD’s Radeon RX 6000-sereis graphics playing cards and all of Nvidia’s RTX choices can play video games with real-time ray tracing results lively. Nvidia’s RTX 30-series GPUs grasp a large benefit over the whole lot else regardless that, propelled even additional via devoted tensor cores for processing gadget finding out duties similar to Deep Studying Tremendous Sampling, which makes use of AI to hurry up the efficiency of your video games with minimum hit to visible constancy. GeForce RTX 20-series GPUs additionally reinforce DLSS, however AMD has no resolution for it but, regardless that the corporate is teasing a extra open “FidelityFX Tremendous Answer” characteristic to rival it within the coming months. Take a look at our contemporary opinions Beneath is a listing of our most up-to-date opinions for person graphics playing cards. We’ve saved it to essentially the most present GPUs. Guide to Building a Gaming Computer
Tumblr media
Highly Compressed Games
A Gaming Computer, also known as gaming PC, is a personal computer that is capable of playing computationally and graphically demanding video games. They are very similar to conventional computers with the exception that these machines are fitted with performance-oriented video card and other specifications. This type of computers can be easily bought in the market but at a much higher price compared to the conventional computers. Since most of the gamers are both cost and performance conscious, most of them opt to build their own gaming computer than buying a built-in gaming computer.
Highly Compressed Games
Building your own custom gaming computer simply means you buy all your computer components separately and piece them up together to guild your gaming PC. With this method you can achieve a fast and cost-effective gaming computer suited to your own gaming needs. Besides saving a lot of money and having an efficient machine, building your own gaming computer can also be a lot of fun.
How to choose your components?
Perhaps the biggest challenge one can face when building their own gaming computer is choosing the right components for your needs. So without further ado, here is a simple guide in order to help you in building your own gaming computer.
Central Processing Unit (CPU)
The Central Processing Unit (CPU) is one of the most important core components in all computer systems. The CPU is a portion in the system that carries out the instructions of a computer program. In simple terms it could describe as the brains of the computer. The performance of your games and other applications will depend on this microprocessor.
Choosing the best Central Processing Unit (CPU) for your gaming computer can be a hard decision to make. Picking the latest, fastest, or most expensive processor on the market won't always result in the right CPU for your particular system. Some processors are designed to work with a certain or specific motherboards, thus the CPU type limits the motherboard type you can use.
For a gaming computer, you will really need a powerful CPU for it to performing superbly. Luckily these CPUs are supplied by Intel and AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) at an affordable price.
Intel has the Core i7 and Core i5 processor models. Currently these models are the most popular ones used for gaming purposes, which are mostly recommended for gaming computers.
AMD, on the other hand, has the Athlon and Phenom series. If you want to go AMD, you can try the most recommended Phenom X4 series.
Motherboard
The motherboard is the hub of the computer system. It is where all other components are connected to. If we consider the CPU as the brain of the computer system, then the motherboard is the central nervous system. Thus buying the best motherboard is a good investment.
After choosing your CPU, next you need to consider choosing your motherboard for your gaming computer. When selecting a motherboard, you should remember three things.
First, a motherboard will generally support one type of processor only. Different CPUs have different connectors that physically vary with one another, Make sure that your CPU plug is suitable to your mother board connector.
Second, motherboards have a certain speed limitation depending on the processor model. Maximum processor speed allowed by the motherboard will be quoted in the motherboard specifications. Before buying, check whether your selected motherboard can support your chosen CPU.
Third, motherboards are the ones who can dictate the type and amount of RAM you can have. In a gaming computer, you would want to have either DDR SDRAM or RDRAM which is at least 1G worth. So ensure that your motherboard can support this type and amount of memory.
Here are some examples of well-known motherboards manufacturers where you can browse for your perfect gaming motherboard: ASUS, ABIT, MSI, XFX, EVGA, Intel, and Gigabyte.
Hard Drive
The hard drive is the computer component responsible for storing your files and programs. When buying a hard drive for your gaming computer, consider these three main features: speed, size, and the type of interface.
[Speed] Basically the faster the hard drive spins the fast you are able to access and transfer your data. Currently, the best hard drives in the market these days can have a speed around 7200rpm (rounds per minute). In a gaming computer, you don't want anything less than this; else it will cause delays between reading and writing data.
Faster hard drives that reach speeds of 10,000rpm and 15,000rpm are available in the market at a higher price. For your gaming computer, a 7200rpm hard drive is already enough for but if you can shell out more money, then you can opt for these faster hard drives.
[Size] Hard drives come in different sizes, which can range from 80GB to 500GB and more. For your gaming computer, it is always recommended that you purchase the largest hard drive you can afford. This will allow you to store lots and lots of software and data (including games).
[Interface] The interface of the hard drive is responsible for managing the exchange of data between a computer and the hard drive. Currently, the most commonly used hard drive interface used today is Advanced Technology Attachment (ATA); which comes in two forms, the original Parallel ATA (PATA) and the newer and faster Serial ATA (SATA).
There's also the expensive Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) which are used primarily for high-end workstation computer. For you gaming computer, it is sufficient enough to have the SATA if your motherboard can support it.
Video Card
Choosing the right video card that is supported by both your CPU and motherboard is a very important and tough decision to make. The gaming video card you choose will be responsible for producing the dazzling 3D graphics and effects seen in the latest computer games. A better graphics card can deliver a better 3D gaming experience, so the best and affordable video card should be bought for you gaming computer.
The graphic processing unit (GPU) can be connected to your motherboard through AGP or PCI Express slot. For you gaming computer, it is recommended that you use a graphics card connected through a PCI Express slot on your motherboard.
The speed and efficiency of the GPU should not be the only thing that counts when buying your video card. You should also consider the advance 3D rendering effects such as anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, bump-mapping, pixel shaders and much more. For your gaming computer, consider a video card that can support such latest 3D rendering techniques in the software world.
Like the CPU market, there are two primary competing companies that current dominate the graphic card. These companies are ATI and nVidia. ATI is responsible for the Radeon series, while nVidia is marketing the GeForce line of cards.
Power Supply
One of the vital and overlooked components of the computer system is the power supply. Without a power supply, the computer will not be able to operate its functions. Its main purpose is to convert AC power from the main line to usable low-voltage DC power for the internal components of the computer. The power supply gives out three different DC voltages to your computer 12VDC, 5VDC, and 3VDC which are used differently by computer components.
Each power supply has a certain amount of energy or wattage based on their maximum output power. Wattages commonly ranges from 300W to 500W but some high-end gaming power supply can reach ranges of 800W to 1kW.
If you want to use a power supply for you gaming computer, it is recommended to have at least a power supply ranging from 500W and above.
Gaming Monitor
One of the most expensive components in your gaming computer would be the computer monitor. When buying a gaming computer monitor you only need to consider three things: size, native resolution, and price.
[Size] Computer monitors comes in different sizes from the small 15 inches to a larger 23 inches, and even larger. 17 inches is a common size and large enough for most people, but if you want to increase your viewing and gaming experience then a larger size monitor is advisable.
[Native Resolution] Each monitor has been designed for a certain resolution, which is known as the native resolution. If you change the resolution of a monitor to a resolution that doesn't coincide with its native resolution; the image will then be scaled and the quality will be lessen significantly. Native resolution of a monitor is dependent on its size. Here are some examples of native resolution for common sizes:
17 inches 1024x768
19 inches 1280x1024
20 inches 1600x1200
[Cost] Prices vary greatly between sizes, where smaller ones cost cheaper than larger ones. So choose a size that can satisfy your need while taking into consideration your budget.
Gaming Keyboard
Custom built keyboards designed specifically for gaming can give an edge to a gamer using it. But currently, there is no general gaming keyboard that can be recommended for all gamers. Why? This is due to the fact that different gamers have different or varying styles of play, posture, and wrist anatomy. So basically, there is no such thing as a gaming keyboard that is best for everyone.
According to Build-Gaming-Computers, one of the best gaming keyboards available in the market is the Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard. This keyboard has been custom-made to meet a gamer's need. It specifically features:
a. An adjustable, backlit LCD screen that displays important in-game information during gameplay;
b. Backlit keys to play in the dark or low-lit areas;
c. 18 programmable "G keys" used to execute macros; and
d. Timer controls to keep track of game events.
Gaming Mouse
Like the gaming keyboard, choosing the best gaming mouse can help increase the level of your gaming experience. Using a custom-designed gaming mouse gives the best accuracy and control which allows you to play games at your best.
Computer mouse come in different types which are the optical, laser, and ball mice types. Currently, optical and laser type mouse are commonly used due to their precision and better tracking, allowing for more accuracy and control.
When selecting the best mouse for your gamin computer, you should consider a number of factors. One of the most important one is the resolution. Resolution is the number of pixels per inch a mouse's optical sensor and focusing lens can see when you move the mouse around. The higher the resolution a mouse has, the better the accuracy and precision.
Next consider the responsiveness of the mouse. It is the number of megapixels per second the mouse can process. This is important especially in fast-paced games such as first person shooters games. The more megapixels per second the mouse can process, the more responsive it is; thus it offers faster and precise control in your games.
So when buying a gaming mouse, consider the resolution and responsiveness of the mouse you are going to buy.
