Angela  Well, I loved the ending of this episode. I think I rewatched it, I don't know, three or four times. It made me happy. It made my heart happy. And Darryl is playing Macy Gray's I Try on the piano and Andy is just belting it out. And you have this montage of all this group of people and where they're at in life and dealing with whatever it is they're dealing. But your singing. Ed, in that moment, as Andy is like, it's like your halftime at the Super Bowl, man. You're just like, everything, your whole body is into it. And it made me so happy. I just love that moment.
Jenna Randy told us that the original song for the end was My Heart Will Go On. The Titanic Song?
Ed Helms That rings a bell. Yeah.
Ed Helms Priceless. Do you guys, I'm curious, like, we made so many Office episodes, and it's really funny to me the way fans understand the episodes as these like, very tight, coherent stories, whereas I find that from our perspective as the actors, in looking at these stories from from a production standpoint, it takes us a week to shoot a half hour episode, and then we go right into the next week of another episode. And when you look back on it, it's just kind of this wash of work, right? And I don't- for me, it's very hard to kind of remember the specifics of episodes and the specifics of like what was in what episode. And I mean, you guys have been really kind of studying them so it is probably more front of mind for you. But. But I, I am, I'm, I found this going back and watching this episode, like, it did trigger a lot of memories, but it also was a little frustrating kind of realizing that- what I don't remember. And there are certain scenes, I don't know if you have this experience watching episodes of The Office.
Angela  All the time, Ed.
Ed Helms Where you're like, I don't remember shooting that. I don't remember- I don't even remember that day or what was going on. And sometimes it's because you have some crazy thing going on in your life or but more often I think it's just because you just don't remember every day at work. And I got a little heartsick kind of watching. There were some some parts of this episode where I was like, Oh boy, I wish I remembered like... Just, you know, that that that scene where we're all around the piano together. It's one of those rare scenes where almost everybody is, like, in a clump and it's with positive energy, right? Usually it's usually it's like, you know, a meeting in the in the conference room.
Angela Conference room, yeah.
Ed Helms  And it's all crazy. But like to have a moment where where everyone's kind of in a good place and happy. It just I remember watching that and thinking like, this is this is so special. Like, I love these people. I love these human beings. And it made me a little bit heartsick for the things I don't remember.
Jenna You're literally- your character has the line at the end where you say-
Angela  In the finale.
Ed Helms Right.
Jenna You wish that you knew you were in the good times when you were in 'em. Like, that's literally what you're saying.
Ed Helms  So true. Yeah,.
Jenna But I get it.
Angela It is true, though, because you work every day, and some days stand out and some days don't. It doesn't matter what your job is. And acting is no different. But sometimes I don't know the show the way people know it, when they can just sit down and watch it all the way through.

Pearl Jam Announce New Album
Pearl Jam will release Dark Matter on April 19th. You can stream the title track and pre-orders are now up. Pearl Jam will release their twelfth studio album, Dark Matter, on Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records on April 19, 2024 and launch a 35-date worldwide tour this May. The album’s title track is available now HERE. Produced by multi-GRAMMY® award winning producer Andrew Watt, Dark Matter, marks the band’s first release since critically-acclaimed Gigaton (2020).   Dark Matter is now available for pre-order HERE.   In 2023, the members of Pearl Jam—Eddie Vedder [vocals], Jeff Ament [bass], Stone Gossard [rhythm guitar], Mike McCready [lead guitar], and Matt Cameron [drums]—retreated to Shangri-La Studios in Malibu where they simply plugged in and played with producer Andrew Watt at the helm.   The musicians faced one another in the same space and communicated sonically at the highest level. Writing and recording in a burst of inspiration, Dark Matter was born in just three weeks.   As a result, Dark Matter channels the shared spirit of a group of lifelong creative confidants and brothers in one room playing as if their very lives depended on it. All of the blood, sweat, tears, and energy of a storied career felt renewed and poured into this one body of work.   The band members personally previewed the record with a listening party at the iconic Troubadour in West Hollywood during GRAMMY® week: Vedder said: “I’m getting chills, because I have good memories. We’re still looking for ways to communicate. We’re at this time in our lives when you could do it or you could not do it, but we still care about putting something out there that is meaningful and we hopefully think is our best work. No hyperbole, I think this is our best work.” Ament added, “What Ed said about getting us in a room at this point, we felt like we were about to make a really important record. A lot of that had to do with the atmosphere Andrew set up. He has encyclopedic knowledge of our history, not only as a band and how we wrote songs, but as players. He could pinpoint things we did on old songs to the point where I was like, ‘What the fuck is he talking about?’ His excitement was contagious. He’s a force. I just want to say thanks for keeping us on track. I couldn’t be prouder of us as a band. I feel so grateful for the fans, but mostly for my brothers and these people I’ve made music with.” The band is celebrating indie record stores with the release of a special edition of Dark Matter on April 20. Only at participating stores as part of Record Store Day. Get more information and find stores at www.recordstoreday.com Dark Matter album packaging features light painting art by Alexandr Gnezdilov. Light painting is an artistic form of photography where images are created by adjusting a camera's exposure for an extended period and using a light source, such as a flashlight, to "paint" in the dark. The album cover art was crafted using a large self-made kaleidoscope. Each letter visible on the cover was individually captured and handwritten midair with a specially designed flashlight to create the pearlescent effect. See more info on Alexandr Gnezdilov below. Track Listing * Scared of Fear * React, Respond * Wreckage * Dark Matter * Won’t Tell * Upper Hand * Waiting for Stevie * Running * Something Special * Got to Give * Setting Sun World Tour In support of Dark Matter, Pearl Jam will head out on a world tour this year, marking the first time the band has announced a new album and tour simultaneously and first time the group has unveiled all worldwide tour dates at once. Their global tour, hitting nine countries and 25 cities, kicks off at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, and will cover much of North America including shows at Wrigley Field, Madison Square Garden, Fenway Park, and their first hometown performance in six years at Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena, the world’s first net zero certified arena.   The tour continues with performances in the… https://chorus.fm/news/pearl-jam-announce-new-album-2/

Flight Folly, 2011
Flight Folly combines the essentially escapist signifier of freedom from the fetters of earthly things, with the knowing distraction of performance as spectacle, or novelty (air)show, common to the world of expos and trade fairs throughout the anticipatory and formative years of modernity – from airships to Red Arrow’s fly-bys and aerobatic displays. Here, Barry conflates a show-off, technological marvel and the theatricalised suspense of a professional illusionist with the simplest narrative reveal of the artist as real-world documentarian, designed to pique expectation with the inevitable (deflationary) reality of a return to the everyday – a coming down to earth.
The construct of Aideen Barry’s finely-wrought ten-minute performance balances anticipation and expectation, alongside references to mediated memory and childlike wonderment, filmicly slapstick humour, and the ludic and foolhardy, to pose broader questions of purpose, logic, normalcy, certainty, reliability, standing against the more challenging and threatening forces of anxiety, fear and uncertainty.
Looking both gracious and glamorous, at the helm of her performance, Barry centred in the gallery space is also very much centred in and by her remarkable dress, posited halfway between parachute and Marilyn Monroe’s iconic billowing, silk meringue, from the 1954 movie The Seven Year Itch – you know what happened to that. Attached to the dress are sixteen buzzing, remote-controlled helicopters, in anticipation of ‘lift-off’. With her hand on the remote control of her own destiny, Barry balances motion and stasis, poised and statuesque, secure in inactivity, she stands at the threshold of an unknown potential, a physical updraft and a bitter-sweet excitement tinged with the fear of the unknown.

Your own work seems to be very distinctive. How do you start your process of creating a new work?
I start at the place of the hidden or the forgotten. Often this is involves looking at history, at art history or literature and in particular the erasure of historical contributions by Women, people from communities on the periphery or those who have been “Other-ed” or excluded from the canon, from historical fact. Truth is a very fragile thing and so I try to explore the nature of Truth and Fiction. A lot of my work is performance to camera, where I undergo extraordinary transformation or commitments to achieve the most absurd situation. I use humour as a way of talking about some of these dark subjects as I feel that it has a great way of disarming the viewer and provoking exchange and debate.

I don't want to brag and I don't want to rewrite history. That may not have been the case, but I just remember feeling happy that it didn't go on the wall. There wasn't a massive cleanup. And I remember there wasn't. When I watched that scene, everyone's reaction seemed so genuine that I feel like it was the first take. Because we're all like, Oh, I feel like there's two things happening. One, as actors were reacting to this moment, but then as just humans were like, Ellie nailed him. I agree with Angela. That is definitely our real reaction to the cake hitting his face in that scene. I could not have faked that reaction. -Angela, Ellie, and Jenna
