When I was rewatching this scene and noticed that Levi was sitting on a chair right behind Hange instead of next to the others at the table, I couldn’t help but ask myself why he chose to do so (since there would have been, in my opinion, enough space for him to just push his chair closer to the table or to sit on the couch next to or in between the two people sitting there). My little shipper heart immediately came up with two possible reasons:

1. Levi knew he would have been distracted if he would be facing Hange during the meeting: even though he would try his best not to look her into the eyes, his gaze would involuntarily wander off and focus on her, and not only Hange but the other ones present might notice it (we all know that looking into the eyes of the person you might have feeling for is very distracting). So he chose the least dangerous place, which would be right behind her. The only thing he would be looking at would be her ponytail (and he could distract himself with thinking about her having to wash her hair - since anything related to cleanliness is probably his “comfort-thought” whenever he gets flustered).

2. Levi actually did want to look at her in secret, but he didn’t want to make too obvious - so he placed himself in a spot from where he could discreetly watch her without making it look like he was watching her. She would naturally be in his viewpoint and no one could accuse him of staring.

I am probably over-interpreting this scene, bur it makes me happy to think that one of those two reasons may be true. 🤭 (Or Levi was just tired of people and wanted to maintain his personal space lol.)

Pretty simple chapter half this time, but worth it for this lovely visual. Akainu, for reasons, is now working at a cafe with Perona and Conis. And I do love seeing Conis. This is the new waiter giving the cafe's corny greeting to a confused Luffy/Koby. Yes, Academy is wonderful.

On a more serious note, the idea of the guy's arm still having feeling and maybe even living on elsewhere is terrifying because then what does that mean for the guy who'd been entirely deboned?

Finally, my guy is literally stalking his boss and judging him cause he smoked pot in college. I cannot wait to see who the real culprit behind Gertrud's murder is. I'm not saying I want him to eat crow here but Jon strikes me as the kind of guy who would never let you forget it if he was right about his boss being secretly evil.
