I don't think you understand how much Beverly kissing the fae boy means to me. It's one of the most human character flaws Caldwell gave Beverly and I am kissing him on the mouth about it (no pun intended). The fact that he was in a relationship with Erlin and knew it was wrong, but still caved and kissed him... it's so good. When I was 15 years old in my first queer relationship that was something real, that was my best friend, and I valued nothing more than her and I would've also kissed that boy. I would've also known it was wrong and felt so much guilt and couldn't have stopped myself. I never got that opportunity and I am very grateful for that because I could never have imagined hurting her in that way, but when you're 15 (and maybe when you're queer, when you're seen by someone who's also not the ideal of society) all you want is to be loved. If somebody liked me like that, if somebody had shown me that interest, if somebody who was just like me had tried to kiss me. Yeah, I would've caved. I would've felt shit about it. I wouldn't have forgiven myself. I would've done it.

Today I would never cheat on a partner of mine given neither opportunity or wish. In no circumstance. But today I'm not 15 anymore. Today I just thank Caldwell for Beverly who showed something I didn't know I had been feeling at that time and showed that it did not make you a bad person. It made you 15.

I’m relistening to campaign one of NADDpod and realized I’ve never drawn anything for the show… Melora forgive me take these baby boys as my penance.

as much as beverly toegold v was erlin kindleaf’s best friend, he adored cran and derlin almost as much.

when bev was off doing more important green teen things, with egwene, as top of their class and the captain’s son, erlin would spend his time with the other two teens his age.

he was the calm force within their pranks, pointing out logic holes in their plans. they helped him figure out how to get the calmer patches, and they enjoyed working on projects together. they always stood together in the green teen glee team.

they bonded over being kidnapped by frogs together. they had the long way back to galaderon with just denny and no bev to make jokes and distract themselves from the harsh realities of being in a bag.

sending them to the feywild, actually being able to save them, was one of erlin’s proudest moments.

as much as his journal was for bev, to show his (he hoped) boyfriend his adventures, he knew he’d want to share those stories with cran and derlin as well.

but no one quiiite bothers to tell him exactly how long they were in the feywild.

he’s exhausted, still asleep in the stormborn after being freed from a gem and brought out of the court of gods by hardwon, moonshine, and beverly, when he blinks awake, hearing familiar voices nearby.

his slight movement alerts egwene immediately, and he’s elated to hug her. but then he sees two unfamiliar faces. that are… familiar in a way?

and he realizes who, exactly, they are. he grins at their matching rings, and wraps them in hugs as well.

but the tiny part of him that held onto being sixteen when the world ended and knew he would still have some bit of growing up to do if it came back together shattered when he saw their grizzled faces.

he loves their kids, immediately after meeting them, and enjoys growing up with them, showing them the material plane when they’re there.

he just hates the fact that he can remember exactly when his childhood died.

beverlin will always be THAT BITCH to me. like. it’s the duality of being in love with the chosen one and being in love as the chosen one. it’s the both of them saying “he’s too good for me.”

like erlin will never be as strong or brave or significant as Beverly. he isn’t the one who killed the gods or the devils, he isn’t the one time was reset for over and over, he isn’t the one who saved the world. he was just one of the pawns on the board, the body on the altar. loving a hero of the realm casts a hell of a shadow. your hands must seem so small against his. how are you supposed to deal with that? when you’ve never been good with a sword, when all you do is give yourself over to other people?

and bev’s love is dangerous, because power is a magnet for risk. you kidnap lois lane because she doesn’t punch as hard as superman. you lock erlin in a crystal because the heart of a hero is the only part that’s flesh. there’s always a prison gem or an eternal damnation, and bev can’t shake it off. he’ll never be able to just sit one out because part of being important is that the personal things aren’t anymore, part of being important is that you never really get to go home. you don’t stop moving, something always needs to be saved, someone always has to intervene. your life isn’t your own. a hero is selfless. he puts himself aside.

bev walks, erlin trails. erlin rests and bev has to stay on his feet. it’s this inherent distance that they didn’t ask for, that they can only bridge if they really mean it, right? but it works. it works because they love each other. because they’re wrong when they say “he’s too good for me.” because an angel needs the ground when his wings are failing. and a cleric needs something to worship.

Now that Murph is talking about doing more short form campaigns set in various times and places around Bahumia I am manifesting an Erlin, Egwene, Red and Gunther mini campaign. I just want to go back and revisit the adventures they were having in between parting ways after Galaderon in c1 and the reunion before Gladeholm. Caldwell as Erlin, Emily as Egwene and Jake as Red. I don't know if it would even be something they would want to do but if it was I think it would be really cool.
