#Event Gacha Cards

As someone who hasn’t played the twst game very long I just got into it. I wanted to know about events? Like do some not come back? For example do the Masquerade, Port, Beanfest, Ghost bride, starsending events. Do those come back? I hear people say how they missed their chance to get this great card like as if it won’t ever come back and then someone on Reddit will say something like “Oh beanfest happened twice on the JP server” so which events have gotten reruns so far? I would ask about more recent ones like the Easter one but idk if it’s too recent to know if get rerun or if they clarify that it won’t come back? I was really sad to find out about the Silk outfits I missed out on when they visit the scalding sands. I also was really sad to find out i missed out on the anniversary cards because I didn’t play the game yet. I wish they would add the anniversary cards to the store at least…I want to be apart of the celebration :’)
I was looking in the shop and saw all the different groovy items you need to groovify event cards and this question just came to me so I had the urge to ask someone…
welcome to Twst! 🎉 it is a bit confusing to jump right into, especially because. they're not always consistent. :') it sounds like you're probably playing on Eng, which I'm less familiar with, but I'll try based on what I know! (I also don't always remember everything, so somebody please correct me if I get something wrong!)
first, I do recommend the Twst wiki.gg, which seems to stay pretty up-to-date on events for both the Eng and JP versions! it's a great resource for when you want to see if/when an event ran or rerun. in general, I believe that the Eng version only does reruns that have already happened in JP, so if JP has a rerun that hasn't happened yet in Eng, they should get it too eventually! on the other hand, I don't think either version has ever rerun an event more than once. :( BUT this doesn't mean you're entirely out of luck, because:
anniversary events (March for JP, January for Eng) will usually offer a chance to get both an older event SSR and an older birthday SSR in the shop, via buying a special item with exchange currency (which you get by doing pulls on the anniversary gacha, I think you need to do 100-150 pulls for enough currency to buy the item to exchange for an SSR). only SSRs though, and you're limited to one each (one birthday, one event). so if there's an SSR you REALLY want and it's already had its rerun, it's probably worth planning to save up some keys for!
as for actual reruns, they seem to come in a few different flavors:
straight-up rerun, no changes or extra cards
unchanged event story, with a new SSR of a character who wasn't in the story (e.g. Applepom Jamil)
slightly rewritten event story that includes a new SSR (e.g. Ghost Marriage, they don't seem to do this anymore though)
completely new event story that acts as either a sequel or alternate-universe version of the original (e.g. Beans Day part 2, Fairy Gala IF) (though this is pretty rare and might actually count as a separate event, rather than a rerun?)
Master Chef/Culinary Crucible events have never gotten reruns (though they might start now that we've finally gotten through all the characters in JP, time will tell). birthday and Halloween events will also rerun the previous version in addition to the new one -- for instance, Eng should be getting a Glorious Masquerade rerun this year, followed by the new (Playful Land) Halloween event. and a birthday campaign will, in addition to the new card, have a separate pickup for the previous year's birthday card.
for the specific ones you mentioned -- I think Beanfest, Ghost Bride, Fireworks, and Starsending have already rerun in Eng, so those most likely will not be rerun again (at least not anytime soon). Masquerade should be coming back for you guys this Halloween, and Portfest JUST got its rerun in JP, so that should be coming too sometime in the future! (no new SSR though, alas, I was really hoping for a little marching band sailor boy Leona. 😔) the Easter event is the White Rabbit Fest, right? that one hasn't gotten a rerun in JP yet either, so it's still on the table!
all that said, it's entirely possible they'll change the rules at some point and start doing more reruns/chances to get older event cards, especially since the game's been going on for a few years now and some cards haven't been available for a pretty long time! there's only one card that they said was for-realsies limited-time-only and wouldn't ever be available again -- Platinum Grim, since he was to celebrate the 100th anniversary -- so. there's always a little bit of hope for everything else. :D (fairy gala Ortho PLEASE COME BACK SOB)

The cards from the Where is ♡? set contain multiple references to previous Mafuyu event card sets. By far the most obvious reference is the mask that originally appeared as part of her Masquerade Doll costume / Captive Masquerade trained 4* card (right). The mask reappears in Mafuyu's My True Feelings card (left), although it has now been broken in half, alluding to her dropping her metaphorical mask in front of her mother.
Another obvious similarity is the strings in both cards. Mafuyu's Captive Masquerade card originates from her first event, Captive Marionette, in which she subconsciously associates herself with a marionette doll she sees in an exhibit, causing her to have a panic attack. She sees herself in the marionette doll because of how her mother treats her like a puppet - every aspect of her life is controlled by her mother pulling the strings. Her My True Feelings card originates from the Saying Goodbye to My Masked Self event, in which she finally stands up to her mother and ultimately runs away, hence why she is shown cutting the strings in the art.
Tumblr media
While hard to tell, it seems as though the background in the My True Feelings card may be based on or even be the same location as the cards from the Ball of the Marionettes set. It's easiest to tell by comparing the background to the windows and pillars from Miku's trained Severed Threads 4* card.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kanade's trained Embracing Your Trembling Back With Kindness 4* card features ivy covering most of the objects in the card, including the strings. This appears to be a reference to the cards from the Nursing my ES set, the set from Mafuyu's previous unit event, Guiding a Lost Child to What Lies Beyond. In this event, the N25 story began to focus on Mrs Asahina's influence over Mafuyu's life, and the ivy growing over everything may be representative of this. There appears to be some ivy on the objects in Mafuyu's My True Feelings card, but it is hard to tell for certain because the background is out of focus.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kanade, Ena and Mizuki's cards from the Where is ♡? set feature a crystal heart-shaped apple object. This is a reference to the cards from the Snow White in Oblivion set, which featured a smaller version of this item as a charm on all the costumes. Mafuyu's card from this set is also notable for featuring the first physical appearance of Mrs. Asahina (albeit with her face obscured on both the trained and untrained version of the card). The event this set originates from, Mirage of Lights, was referenced in Saying Goodbye to My Masked Self.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally, all of the cards from the Where is ♡? set feature furniture scattered around. This was also a common feature in the Ball of the Marionettes set. While the items of furniture in the latter set are rather generic fancy chairs and such, the objects in the Where is ♡? set appear to be mainly household items and pretty standard furniture, likely alluding to how Mafuyu feels trapped and overwhelmed by her home life.

I decided to do a kind of challenge!~💕💕 I don't know if anyone will do it, but WW
• The cards you received very early (NO MORE THAN 10 PULLS or more if it was the earliest you had)
Tumblr media
• The cards you received after spending 100 pulls
Tumblr media
• When you received more than 1 SSR at once
Tumblr media
• The cards that made you cry because you couldn't get them in the end (refused to receive them because of another card or just didn't get it)

I get people being mad at the Ssr nightmare because It was throw up sudenly in the middle of a Celestial Blessing event, two other revivals and a Birthday banner. But genuine question:
Is there really a "good moment" to have a revival? This game has gotten two events per month since it's begginings and I don't see that changing anytime soon
I don't mind revivals being common If that means new players have the opportunity to have older cards tbh. The OG cards in NB coming without chats it's inexcusable tho

Sakuya Sakuma | [R] Keeping Your Love All to Myself | Sakuya-kun’s Love Life!?
Tumblr media
Sakuya: Hmm… What should I get the Director for White Day?
Sakuya: (I want to give her something she’ll be happy with, but there’s so many things to choose from.)
Sakuya: (Huh, is that Kasumi-san over there?)
Sakuya: Kasumi-san, hello!
Tumblr media
Kasumi: Hello, Sakuya-kun! Never thought I’d run into you here.
Sakuya: Same here! Are you out shopping too, Kasumi-san?
Kasumi: No. I just finished doing an interview and I’m on my way back to the publisher.
Sakuya: Ah, I see…! I’m so sorry to hold you up like this while you’re working!
Kasumi: Fufu, don’t worry about it. I was planning on taking a break and taking my time getting back.
Kasumi: Anyway, about what you just said… you’re in the middle of doing some shopping right now, Sakuya-kun?
Sakuya: Yeah, I am, but…
Kasumi: …But something is troubling you?
Sakuya: Huh, how’d you know!?
Kasumi: I could tell just by looking at your face. Feel free to confide in me, I’m always willing to talk things out with you, okay?
Sakuya: …Thank you so much! Well then, is it okay if I talk to you about it a bit now?
Kasumi: Yes, of course!
Sakuya: Actually, I’m worried about getting a gift for someone dear to me for White Day.
Kasumi: I see, White Day is coming up, isn’t it?
Tumblr media
Kasumi: …Wait, someone dear to you!?
Sakuya: (Huh? The Director has always looked out for me, so she’s someone dear to me, right?)
Sakuya: Yeah. But I’ve looked at so many different stores, but I still don’t know what to get…
Kasumi: Your face is so serious, Sakuya-kun… That person must be really important to you.
Sakuya: Of course!
Kasumi: So in other words, this is about your love life…!
*Wind blows*
Sakuya: Huh? What was that? I’m sorry, I didn’t catch that because of the wind…
Kasumi: No, it’s nothing! Anyway, this means you have to put all your heart into picking something out.
Tumblr media
Sakuya: Yeah!
Kasumi: Right… I think it’s pretty standard to give sweets in return, but I think something like a handkerchief would also be nice to get…
Kasumi: If they’re a busy person, something like bath salts or hand cream could be a good idea around this time of year.
Sakuya: Ah…! That reminds me, she did mention that her skin has been feeling a little dry lately!
Kasumi: Then I think hand cream would be just the thing! It looks gorgeous and I think it’d be the perfect thing to give in return.
Kasumi: Right, right, there’s a new hand cream that just released that smells like sakura and it’s really popular with women right now…
· ❀ —– ٠ ❀ ٠ —– ❀ ·
Sakuya: Thanks to you, I was able to decide on something to give her! And thank you so much for telling me about the store that sells the hand cream, Kasumi-san!
Kasumi: Fufu, you’re welcome. I’m glad I was able to help you, Sakuya-kun.
Sakuya: Well then, I think I’m gonna head off right away!
Kasumi: Head off… to the store that I told you about?
Sakuya: Yeah! If it’s a popular hand cream, then I need to get there as soon as I can or it might sell out.
Kasumi: But will you be okay on your own? Do you want me to come with you?
Tumblr media
Sakuya: Thank you for your concern. But I’ll be fine!
Kasumi: I see. Well then, take care, okay?
Sakuya: I will! Thank you so much for your help today, Kasumi-san!
*Footsteps*
Kasumi: …
Kasumi: (I’m still worried though, since it’s a little complicated to buy high-end cosmetics. I’ve still got some time before my break is over…)
Kasumi: Alright, I’ll go and check in on him just a little bit!
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Sakuya: I’m here…
Sakuya: (I don’t come to places like this very much, so I’m a little nervous, but…)
Sakuya: (I think this is the store that sells the hand cream Kasumi-san told me about.)
Sakuya: Excuse me. I came here to buy a hand cream that smells like sakura…
Store Worker: The new product that was released last week, correct? Excuse me for asking, but did you make an online reservation, sir?
Tumblr media
Sakuya: Huh, reservation?
Store Worker: Yes. That item has become very popular, so most people come here after making a reservation…
Sakuya: I-I see!
Sakuya: I’m sorry, I didn’t make a reservation… Do you have to make one in order to buy it?
Store Worker: No, if there are any left in stock in the store, we’ll be able to give one to you.
Store Worker: Would you please wait here a moment while I go check?
Sakuya: Yes! Of course!
Kasumi: (Way to go, Sakuya-kun! Please let there be some in stock…!)
Tumblr media
Azami: Hm? Is that Kasumi-san?
Yuki: What are you doing sneaking around like that?
Kasumi: Azami-kun and Yuki-kun!? Umm, well, about that…
Sakuya: Huh? That voice… Kasumi-san?
Kasumi: S-Sakuya-kun!
Sakuya: And Azami-kun and Yuki-kun too… Are you three shopping together?
Yuki: I don’t know what Kasumi’s doing, but Azami and I came to check out the new high-end cosmetics.
Kasumi: Right, right, I just bumped into them by chance. I just… had something important to attend to.
Sakuya: I see! Ah. Kasumi-san, I was able to get the hand cream!
Kasumi: Really? I’m glad!
Sakuya: Me too. It seems like it’s really popular, but the store worker told me they had just one left in stock…
Sakuya: Now I’ll be able to properly give her a gift in return for White Day. Thank you so much, Kasumi-san!
Kasumi: (Aaah, Sakuya-kun’s shining smile…! It seems like he’s really happy to have gotten the hand cream.)
Tumblr media
Kasumi: …So precious.
Azami: Okay, seriously, what the hell’s going on?
Yuki: Right? I don’t know either, but I think we should just stay out of it…

Hello!! I'm in love with your artstyle (especially the way you did the signature spells??? I've been looking at them for a while adsgfdfsf, they look like movie posters tbh and that's fricking cool to me. anyway!! I'm a player on the NA server (btw, I've already seen spoilers of chap 7 due to tumblr/reddit/pinterest, so yeah it's not the most spoiled I've ever been so yea) and yeah. I'm getting through the story okay but do you have any advice for people trying to get through certain events with a more limited life schedule??? Also, what are some of the differences that you notice between the english (if you see a lot of it??) and Japanese versions of the game? sorry if this was a longer ask, i tried to be simple but i wanted to tell you that I loved your art and everything just spiraled AAAAAAH
thank you! ❤️❤️❤️ I've been surprised by how many people really like my posters -- it's kind of a weird style to do fanart in, I guess, but I'm glad other people think it's cool too! :D
(gonna answer out of order because the event stuff turned into a huge block of text, sorry!)
I've seen a few of the localizations, but I don't know a lot about the Eng version, so I can't speak too much about differences. (I do think "housewarden" has a better sound to it than "dorm leader" though...they need a fancy little word to match their fancy little outfits.) I did look up the unique magic/signature spells to see if they were able to somehow work in the glossing -- I'm not even sure how you would localize that without it being super weird, so I don't blame them, but I was a little sad anyway! :( in Japanese, they're all written as Japanese phrases with the English as ruby text, and sometimes they're given a little extra meaning. like -- this is where the episode 7 spoilers I'm tagging are) the words that Mal says are "Fae of Maleficence":
Tumblr media
but the meaning of the Japanese is "Blessing", which is a nice little "ooooh" moment given the context of it!
there isn't always an extra meaning, sometimes it's just. super literal. but my other favorite is Jack's, where what he means is "✨howl that pierces the moonlit night✨", but what he actually yells is "UNLEASH BEAST" before turning into a giant dog. what a good boy.
as for event advice (under the cut, because this was already getting long)...
speaking as someone who is 100% F2P and therefore also tends to get kind of burnt by some of these events -- the #1 most important thing is to just...make peace with not getting everyone. :') I am a collector-type person, so it definitely gets grating when I can't have all the fancy PNGs my little packrat heart desires. generally though: never do random pulls, always be saving your keys and gems between events. (once a month you can buy a 10-set from Sam for a 50 gem discount, and logging in on a character's birthday will give you a 10-set for free, so make sure to do those!). when the event info starts coming out, pick one or two cards that you really want and work specifically towards those, focusing on grinding out the items and/or using your saved-up pulls on their specific banner. and in the end, accept that it might just not be meant to be, even if you hit the 100-pull pity SSR no I'm not still bitter over fairy gala Ortho why do you ask. if the event doesn't have any cards that you really want, take it as an opportunity to save for the next one!
hoard your star fragments (the things that restore AP) -- if you're going for a card that requires grinding event items to permanently unlock, and the item is one you get from lessons, you can use star fragments to bump your AP up to 30 at a time (10 is the limit that will restore over time, but 30 is the max you can have at once). that makes for a looong lesson loop, but I usually get about 50-60 items per 30 lessons, and I just let it run in the background while doing other stuff. (usually these items are what also unlock the event story, so I'll do a huge amount of lessons first thing and then have enough to get the whole story at once. 👍) it can get really grindy, but events go on for a while so it's not usually that bad if you space it out a bit, instead of waiting until the last minute to try and get those last 600 items (cough) (cough).
if it's one of the ones where you get the item from doing a rhythmic, you get the same amount of items no matter how well you do, even if you miss every note. so you can just...tap occasionally to restart it and get the same effect. if it's a battle one, you do have to actually win to get the item, but once you figure out the sweet spot of a team setup + highest battle level where you win every time, it becomes basically the same deal.
so...yeah, tl;dr you can get away with a lot just by setting things up to run in the background and paying just enough attention to tap through some of the menus. it does require a certain amount of time to just leave your phone while still sorta-kinda paying attention to it, so it might not work for everyone, but that's the best way I've found to get through most events!

WxS event teaser commentary
This is only my second time doing a WxS teaser but I have come to despise them for never being clear as to what member it could be.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay so on the one hand, lots of purple and other things that suggest a Rui event. The gems are a big one, originating from the Curtain Call teaser and card set, but there's also the book, which reminds me a lot of the one from the Revival my dream teaser.
On the other hand though, you've got the stars and music notes that are more of a Tsukasa thing. Well, the music notes appear in a lot of teasers actually and don't have to denote Tsukasa, but considering he's the one with a musical background I tend to automatically associate him with them when they show up. Also the song in general makes me think more along the lines of Tsukasa, mainly because Rui tends to get songs with a sort of cool edge to them, and this is more fun and jazzy (something that was specifically turned down by staff when Karasuyasabou submitted his first draft for Showtime Ruler).
Tumblr media
(TL from @/pjsekai_eng) The producer specifically mentioned the fact that Tsukasa was their first 4* card so they felt they had a connection to WxS, and daichan literally shouted out "Tsukasa! Banzai!" after the teaser was shown so maybe I'm leaning slightly more towards him.
There's an art deco theme to the teaser as well, but I think that could fit with either of them quite well (though maybe leaning slightly more towards Rui since Tsukasa tends to get more story-based card sets).
Anyway, enough of that. In terms of story again there's not any huge hints we can get. I'm assuming since WxS has just started freelancing that this event will be mainly working out the "what now" of it all. But then again it did seem like the Otoris worked out a lot of that offscreen in Happy Ending, and it's not like they have to really get their name out there after all the promotional shows. The Otoris set them up with a few contacts, but I'm not sure if we'll dive straight into that. Though as I said, a lot of the work for this was done offscreen, so it's not like we're gonna get an entire event dedicated to them doing organisation stuff like Re:START From Here.
The stars forming a vague moon (?) shape towards the end of the teaser caught my eye, I wonder if WxS is adapting a book (given the book + it seemingly being an rmd reference) and this somehow has relevance to that. I can't think of any specific stories though so if there is one involved they probably made it up again.
In conclusion, not sure whose event this is. Even the text is both their image colors, so... yeah. It's certainly an event for one of them alright. Either way they're probably both gonna be 4* so does it really matter at that point?
