An absolute tragedy happened to innocent people and young athletes, and this is how Trump meets the moment? JFC.
He is, in real time, working out a way to deflect attention away from his dangerous deregulation policies.

Mysterious Drones: Government Playing Both Sides While Hiding the Real Story
Drones buzz around as much as our smartphones in today’s world. The recent spike in unexplained drone sightings has people more uneasy than ever. The skies are becoming a high-tech mystery. This change sparks anxiety and doubt about what’s really going on above us. A recent segment on “News Nation” featured former FBI Special Agent Jennifer Cough. She took a deep dive into how federal agencies…

AN OPEN LETTER to THE U.S. CONGRESS
Put the Good Jobs for Good Airports standards in the FAA reauthorization bill!
104 so far! Help us get to 250 signers!
I’m calling on you to stand with working people, passengers and our communities by supporting Good Jobs for Good Airports standards (GJGA) in the FAA reauthorization bill. Airports should and can be strong, vibrant drivers of good jobs in every part of our country. The Good Jobs for Good Airports standards are central to that mission and our nation’s future prosperity. Billions of our public dollars are invested in our nation’s aviation system every year, and we must ensure that our public resources serve the public good. That includes ensuring airports better serve the needs of our families, our passengers, our communities and the airport service workers who make it all possible.
It is evident that our air travel industry is in crisis. From record flight cancellations during summer travel peaks to mountains of lost luggage during the holiday travel season. Airports are critical publicly-funded infrastructure vital to the health of our local communities and global economy, but right now airports aren't working the way they should for travelers or airport service workers — a largely Black, brown, multiracial and immigrant service workforce. These working people, including cleaners, wheelchair agents, baggage handlers, concessionaires and ramp workers, keep airports safe and running smoothly even through a global pandemic, climate disasters and busy travel seasons. Yet many are underpaid and underprotected--even as some major airlines rake in record profit and billions of our tax dollars are invested in our national air travel system.
Domestic passenger numbers increased by 80% between 2020 and 2021, total industry employment fell by nearly 14%, leaving airport service workers to sometimes clean entire airplanes in as little as five minutes as many take on additional responsibilities outside of their typical job duties. Meanwhile, wages have barely budged for airport service workers in 20 years. The Good Jobs for Good Airports standards has the power to transform workers’ lives by ensuring airport service workers have the pay and benefits they need to care for their families.
The Good Jobs for Good Airports standards would help build a stronger, safer, more resilient air travel industry by making airport service jobs good jobs with living wages and benefits like affordable healthcare for all airport workers. Airport service workers at more than 130 covered airports would be supported through established wage and benefit standards, putting money back into hundreds of local economies and helping families thrive. If passed over 73% of wage increases will go to workers making $20 or less, estimates show.
I urge you to include the Good Jobs for Good Airports standards in the FAA reauthorization bill, and help ensure our public money serves the public good.

the cabin's empty, the cockpit's not. what happens post-flight is strictly off record.

pairings: pilot!gojo x flight attendant!reader content warnings: mdni, unprotected piv sex, rough sex, oral (f receiving), fingering, choking, degradation and praise, semi-public sex (on a plane), inappropriate workplace relationship/power dynamic, uniform kink if you squint, dom!gojo, not faa approved behavior :D
The last passenger has finally disembarked. The cabin lights are dimmed, and the jet bridge has long since been disconnected. But you’re still lingering in the cockpit, pretending to go over a post-flight checklist you’ve already signed off on.
Gojo lounges in the captain’s chair– hat cocked back, shirt partially unbuttoned with his tie abandoned somewhere on the floor, the weight of a long-haul flight heavy on his shoulders. He watches you with that same grin he always does– like he knows something you don’t (he usually does).
“You waiting on me to give the ‘you have safely reached your destination’ speech again, sweetheart?” His voice is hoarse from hours over the comms, yet it still manages to travel through your ears and down to your core, where you can feel yourself dripping.
You arch a brow and inch closer. “I think I deserve something for making it through that nightmare landing in Detroit.”
“You saying I didn’t stick the landing?” he asks, mock-offended, spinning slowly in his seat to face you head-on.
“I’m saying I had to have a death grip on the beverage cart. Might hit up my union rep, see what kind of settlement I can get for emotional trauma.”
Gojo tilts his head, gives you that slow up-and-down that feels more like a caress than a glance. “You want compensation, baby? I’m sure we can work something out.”
He grabs the backs of your thighs and pulls you into his lap, settling you across him in the captain’s chair as his mouth finds yours. One hand cradles your jaw; the other presses low against your spine, guiding your hips down to meet his. It isn’t gentle– not this time. It’s the product of hours of stolen glances and subtle touches, of the way you’d leaned in before takeoff and whispered, “Captain,” like you knew exactly what it’d do to him.
He kisses like he flies– cocky, unrelenting, and smooth as hell.
He tugs at your scarf, loosening the knot just enough for him to slide it free, dragging the silk down to hang like a leash around your neck.
“You want me to pay up with something more hands-on?” he mumbles into your skin, already nosing down your neck. “That what you want?”
You hum, breath catching as he pushes your skirt up over your ass and grabs a handful, grinding you against the growing bulge in his slacks. “Thought you’d never offer.”
His hands travel lower, fingertips slipping beneath your skirt until they find your soaked panties. He groans at the heat radiating from you, middle finger tracing slow, taunting circles over the damp cotton.
“You’re gonna be the death of me.”
“And you’ll die happy,” you breathe– just before he pulls you upright and bends you over the control board, sinking to his knees on the cockpit floor.
He taps your ankles– silent instruction. You widen your stance without hesitation. With one rough pull, he drags your panties aside, fingers sliding through your soaked slit like he’s flipping controls mid-flight. One broad hand settles on your lower back, guiding you into a deeper arch and pinning you there like he owns the whole damn plane.
Then his tongue is on you– and it’s all heat, pressure, and filthy devotion. You stifle a moan behind your hand, face flushed against the softly glowing control panel.
The floor rumbles faintly beneath you as the auxiliary power unit cycles. Or maybe it’s just him– his mouth, his fingers, his desperation. He eats you like it’s the last thing he’ll ever taste, licking into you with practiced greed, lips slick and open over your clit.
“God, Sat–”
“Captain," he growls.
What a cocky bastard. But you’re in his territory, dripping for him. So you let it slide. “Captain– fuck–”
He sinks a finger in, then two, stretching you open with just enough pressure to make your legs tremble. His tongue doesn’t stop– just shifts, flicking hard against your clit as he curls his fingers just right, hitting that spot with practiced, perfect aim. Landing right on the runway.
You cum with a sharp gasp of his name, your whole body shaking, vision going white-hot at the edges. He doesn’t stop– not until you’re twitching and sensitive, gasping for him again in a wrecked voice that barely sounds like yours.
He’s up before you can catch your breath, already undoing his belt and tugging his zipper down. The sound alone sends another throb straight to your core– and you can feel it, the fresh wave of slick trailing down your inner thighs.
“Spread ’em for me, baby,” he murmurs.
You don’t hesitate. You arch your back and reach behind you, spreading yourself open like you want him to lose control. You hear his breath catch– hear the faint moan that follows.
“Just like that. God, you’re fucking perfect.”
The panel is cold beneath your chest, your cheek pressed to metal. Lights blink lazily across your skin. Then he’s inside you, slow at first, thick and hot, groaning low with his head thrown back like he’s fighting every instinct not to lose control.
“Still so tight,” he grits out. “Fuck, baby. You make me lose my fucking mind.”
You laugh– half-drunk on the high of it– of him– until he thrusts deeper, hard enough to knock the sound from your lungs. The laugh dissolves into a whimper.
The rhythm is messy. Needy. Less about finesse and more about relief– hours of tension and shitty passengers poured into every wet, desperate thrust. You can’t hear anything but your own heartbeat, the wet slap of skin, and the way he pants your name like a prayer he doesn’t need anyone to answer.
“Want you to cum in this cockpit. Cum on this cock,” he says, fingers reaching around to rub circles on your clit. Your mouth has fallen open, spit and tears falling and mixing on the control panel below you. “Look at you. Fucking whore, huh? Opening your legs in a fucking plane. Desperate.”
You cry out, broken and wet, as his fingers work over your clit– rough and practiced, dragging tight, messy circles with just enough pressure to make your thighs twitch. Every thrust drives you forward, your hips braced hard against the panel, lights flickering faster beneath your cheek as if the cockpit itself is reacting to the filth spilling from his mouth.
"This pussy soaking my cock," he grits, fucking up into you so deep you swear he’s bruising something. "This pretty little uniform, short as fuck– you’re just begging for it, aren’t you?"
You can’t answer. Can barely think. Just moan, high-pitched and wrecked, hips rocking back into him like your body’s acting on instinct alone. He’s everywhere– hands gripping your hips tight enough to leave prints, his cock punching into you with unforgiving force, his voice dripping praise and filth straight into your skin.
"Fucking dripping," he groans. "You're making a mess all over me. All over my goddamn flight controls."
You whine, forehead pressed to cool metal, legs shaking as he slaps your ass with one hand and grabs a fistful with the other, using it to fuck you back onto him harder.
"You want it, baby? You want me to fill you up right here– in the goddamn cockpit? Where I fly your pretty little ass from city to city?”
"Yes," you sob, barely audible. “Please– please, Captain, I need it– need you to–"
The title makes him snap. He grabs you by the throat, just tight enough to make your spine curve deeper– just tight enough to steal a little breath. The pressure has your vision narrowing, body tensing, mouth falling open as he holds you there, completely still. Then he fucks into you hard. Deep enough to knock the air from your lungs even more and send your eyes rolling back. His breath is hot against your ear, teeth grazing your cheek as he grinds in slow and brutal.
"Then take it. Be a good little flight attendant and take it.”
You don’t even realize you’re cumming until your whole body locks up– white heat crashing through your core, cunt fluttering tight around him as your scream dies hoarse in your throat. His fingers never leave your clit, just keep rubbing you through it, coaxing every last wave out of you until you’re twitching and slick and completely ruined.
And he still doesn’t stop. He fucks you right through your orgasm, chasing his own, fucking harder now– sloppier– every thrust pushing out a fresh rush of slick around his cock. You can feel how close he is in the way his rhythm falters, the way his grip turns brutal.
"Where do you want it?" he hisses. "Tell me where to cum, baby."
"In– in me," you breathe, throat still partially closed off. “Need it– fuck– inside me, please– Captain.”
He groans like it hurts.
“Fuck– fuck, yes– take it, baby,” he grits, hips snapping once, twice– and then he’s spilling into you, buried to the hilt, jaw clenched as he pulses thick and hot inside. You swear you feel it in your stomach, every twitch, every drop, the heat of it mixing with yours.
He doesn’t move for a moment. Just breathes raggedly, nose pressed into your hair that’s fallen out of its up-do, chest pressed to your back, cock still buried deep, like pulling out might bring reality crashing back. His hand stays on your neck, not choking anymore– it stays almost possessively.
Eventually, he leans up, pulls out slow– watching the way you leak onto the plane's floor with a dazed, greedy groan.
"Fuck, baby. Gonna have to fly this thing knowing I fucked you stupid on the dash."
You glance over your shoulder, still trembling, lips parted around your shallow breaths.
He tucks himself back in, then grabs a spare rag from the side panel and crouches down– wiping the mess from your thighs, gentle now.
"You good?" he asks, voice soft, hands steady.
You nod, boneless and fucked-out.
His grin returns. Wicked. Stupidly proud. “Guess that’s one more thing I can log in the flight report.”

It's crazy like truly truly bug fuck insane how Republicans are just immune to criticism. For the past 4 years anything that could even kind of be blamed on Joe Biden was and anything that couldn't be blamed when Joe Biden also was blamed on Joe Biden. He was the one who made that boat crash into that ship. Pete Buttigieg personally derailed that train in East Palestine. Mere days after Donald Trump fired a lot of people from the FAA and instituted a hiring freeze the worst aviation disaster in America since 9/11 happened and if you connect those two facts every single Republican will act like you are some sort of ghoulish political ambulance chaser. And it's not even exclusive to conservative/Republican circles, conservative people blame all of the world's problems on the Democratic party and progressive people blame all the world's problems on the Democratic party. It's just fucking galling how the public refuses to hold any Republican accountable for literally anything ever.

Moving on 👇

This is the man that founded the company where helicopter pilot, Rebecca Lobach’s mother works…
Nothing to see here 👇

Rebecca Lobach was still in ROTC training in 2018.
How is she flying government continuity missions in a Blackhawk in Washington DC 6 years later as a captain? And how did she afford a $520,000 house two years into the military? 👇
Rebecca Lobach, involved in DCA crash, served as a White House social aide under Biden.
She escorted Ralph Lauren through the White House when he was among those awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by former fake President Joe Biden. 👇

This is a screen grab from the FAA’s Airman registry which is available to the public it shows that Rebecca Marie Lobach did not currently hold an FAA medical which is required to have military certificates converted over to FAA certificates meaning she lost her medical…? 👇

Not sure what she ‘destroyed’.. but she doesn’t look fit to me! 👇
A statement from:
Art Halvorson @ArtHalv....
As a former military instructor, I'll tell you that Rebecca Lobach in NO WAY should have been the pilot in command on that flight.
500 hours in 5 years is Inconceivable! 👇
I think there’s more to this tragic incident than DEI hiring, but it was because of DEI policies that Rebecca was on board that helicopter and there are now 67 people dead. 🤔

adventures in aerospace
So I recently started working at Large Aircraft Manufacturer. (LAM) The plant I work at employs 30,000 people. The company as a whole employs 170,000. Usually you only hear about LAM when something goes wrong. But no matter how bumbling it seems from the outside, it's way worse on the inside.
Three months after my first day, I have been "graduated" from "training." In reality, I'm still completely worthless on the floor: the training center has given me a paltry subset of the production certificates I need to actually to do my assigned job. A commonly cited statistic at LAM is that a hundred men a day are retiring, each one representing decades of experience, walking out the door, forever. The training center is in the unenviable position of managing a generational replacement, and have resorted to shoveling heaps of zoomers through as fast as possible. (As one of the few people with a visible hairline and who is not wearing a Roblox graphic tee; I am frequently mistaken for an instructor, and asked where the bathroom is, what time the next class starts, etc)
In theory, the training center knows what shop I'm assigned to, and can simply assign me all the required classes. In practice, they do the absolute minimum amount of training in a desperate attempt to relive the crowding in their handful of computer labs and tell graduates to pick up their certs later.
Of course, the irresistible force of the schedule meets the immovable object of the FAA. If you don't have the required production certificate to perform a particular job, you don't touch the airplane. Full stop, end of story.
And so the curtain opens on the stage. It reveals a single senior mechanic, supervising a mechanic who finally received all the certs and is being qualified on this particular job, surrounded by another three trainees. Trainees are less than nothing, absolute scum. At best we can fetch and carry. Mostly we are expected to stay out of the way. And the senior mechanic is only senior in title. He is one of six assembler-installers who is certified to actually work on the plane, out of twenty people on the crew, and spends every day with a permanent audience. He is 23 years old.
("Mechanic"? If you think the jargon at your job is bad, try joining a company that's a century old. Assembler-installers are universally referred to as "mechanics", despite doing work that's nothing like what a car mechanic does, and who are generally paid far worse than FAA certified A&P mechanics. Mechanics are the 11 bravos of LAM, grunts, the single largest category of worker. The tip of the spear. Hooah!)
Large Aircraft Manufacturer is in a dilly of a pickle. All of its existing airframe designs are hilariously antiquated. It tried designing a brand new plane from a clean sheet, and lost billions of dollars to a decade-long integration hell. After that, to save money, it tried just tacking bigger engines on an older design without changing anything else, and the stupid things plowed into the ground in an excruciatingly public manner.
LAM is now trying a middle road. It is upgrading one of its designs that is merely middle aged, rather than ancient, and with proven, de-risked components built in-house, rather than scattering them to subcontractors across the world. And it's still blowing past deadlines and burning billions of dollars LAM really doesn't have to spare.
This is the program I've been assigned to.
Advanced Midbody - Carbon Wing has taken the bold step of just tacking on carbon fiber wings to a conventional aluminum fuselage. Shockingly, AMCW is now stuck in lightning strike testing, due to that troublesome join between conductive aluminum and conductive...ish carbon fiber. But LAM, confident as ever, or perhaps driven by complaints of its customers, has announced that full rate production will begin just next year. Thus the tide of newhires. According to the schedule, we're supposed to jerk from one wingset a month to one wingset a week. That's not going to happen, but, oh well, orders from above move down at the speed of thought, while reality only slowly trickles upwards.
"120 inch pounds? Really?"
I startle upright. I have observed one hundred pi bracket installs, and I will observe a hundred more before I can touch aircraft structure. This is the first disagreement I've witnessed. A more advanced trainee is questioning the torque spec on a fastener. It is not an entirely foolish question-- most sleeve bolts we use are in the 40 in-pounds range. Doubling it that is unusual. I cough the dust off my unused vocal cords and venture an opinion.
"Well hey I could look it up? I guess"
The lead mechanic glances at me, surprised that I'm still awake, then looks away. Excuse enough for me!
I unfold myself from the stool I've been sitting on for the last four hours then hobble over to the nearest Shared Production Workstation.
We do not get Ikea-style step by step instructions on how to put together the airplane. Like any company that's been around for long enough, LAM is a tangled wad of scar tissue, ancient responses to forgotten trauma. If you state a dimension twice, in two different places, then it is possible for an update to only change one of those dimensions, thereby making the engineering drawing ambiguous. Something real bad must have happened in the past as a result of that, so now an ironclad rule is that critical information is only stated once, in one place, a single source of truth.
As a result, the installation plan can be a little... vague. Step 040 might be something like "DRILL HOLE TO SIZE AND TORQUE FASTENERS TO SPEC". What hole size? What torque spec?
Well, they tell you. Eventually.
(Image from public Google search)
You are given an engineering drawing, and are expected to figure out how things go together yourself. (Or, more realistically, are told how it's done by coworkers) Step by step instructions aren't done because then dozens of illustrations would have to be updated with every change instead of just one, and drawings are updated surprisingly frequently.
Fasteners are denoted by a big plus sign, with a three letter fastener code on the left and the diameter on the right, like so: "XNJ + 8"
To get the actual part number, we go to the fastener callout table:
(Note the use of a trade name in the table above. There is nothing a mechanic loves more than a good trademark. Permanent straight shank fasteners are always called HI-LOKs™. It's not a cable tie, it's a Panduit™. It's not a wedgelock, it's a Cleco™. Hey man, pass me that offset drill. What, you mean a Zephyr™? Where'd the LAMlube™ go? This also means you have to learn the names of everything twice, one name on the installation plan, and one name it's referred to in conversation.)
We find XNJ on that table, and fill in the diameter: BACB30FM8A. Now we look up the spec table for that fastener:
The eagle eyed among you might note that there is no "diameter: 8" on that table. As a LAM mechanic, you are expected to simply know that "diameter" is measured in 32nds of an inch, which simplifies down to 1/4.
(LAM preserves many old-school skills like fraction reduction and memorizing decimal equivalents like this, like flies caught in amber. Not least is the universal use of Imperial units. Many American manufacturers have been browbeaten into adding parenthetical conversions. Not LAM! Any risk at all of a mechanic seeing a second number and using it by accident is too great, and anyway, it violates SSOT. Lengths are in inches and feet, weights are in pounds, volume is in gallons and if you don't like it then you can go eat shit!)
After 10 minutes of following references, I arrive at that table, print it off, highlight the correct row, and hand it off to my senior mechanic.
"Great, thanks."
Gratified that I have enhanced shareholder value, I sit back down, and immediately fall asleep. Another day living the dream.

The Next Prince Trailer language annotations and various bits and bobs! Let's goooo~
Since I've read the novels, I'm gonna try to keep this as spoiler-free as possible! If you've also read the novels, then please just silently make eye contact with me across the room and give a meaningful nod instead of ruining the fun for other folks :P
Disclaimer: not a native Thai speaker, still learning 🙏
First things first- Their names are Khanin and Charan, yes, but their nicknames (no context or explanation lol) are Nin and Ran so that's what I'll often be calling them ✌
This is Nin's debut / official introduction to the public as the heir of Assavadevathin. I've gone ahead and marked/named all characters:
In the novel, Jay is a stage actor but seeing him be the center of this choir, it seems they've changed that to him being a singer!
In all of these instances we can see a bit of world-building - the hand over the heart is an Emmalian gesture of respect, straight from the novels:
As you can see, characters of different comparative ranks may execute it differently, depending on the recipient. Additionally, you can see some of the commoners or attendants bowing or curtsying in front of the royals.
When the King gives Charan the quest to return Khanin to Emmaly, there's an interesting bit of information getting lost in translation:
Thipokbowon: ปู่มีชรัณคนเดียวที่ฝากฝังอะไรไว้ได้ /bpuu mee Charan khohn diao thee faak fang a-rai wai dai/ = I only have you that I can entrust something to. -> ปู่ /bpuu/ = grandpa
Thipokbowon: หลานรีบไปสืบหาด่วน [...] /laan reep bpai seuup haa duaan/ = (You) hurry and find out [...] -> หลาน /laan/ = grandchild
Thipokbowon can mostly be heard referring to himself as เรา /rao/ in the trailer but with Charan, he specifically refers to himself and Ran in a familiar and informal way! Sidenote: You can hear the King call Nin หลาน /laan/ as well in the trailer.
Similarly, Khanin refers to himself by his nickname when speaking to Tatdanai, as does Tatdanai refer to himself as พ่อ /por/ = dad. Khanin says:
นินได้แชมป์แล้วน่ะ /Nin dai champ laaeo na/ = I won!
The Fencing Club 🤺 And the guy standing closest to Nin?
Likely his best friend Paul! Because he also shows up in the scene where Nin and Ran are at a party with his friends. The two we get close-ups of are probably Paul and Samantha then:
And please disregard the subs cause we can clearly hear them all chant "Kenneth! Kenneth! Kenneth!" As confirmed by P'Den and Nong New, that's Nin's English name:

CharanKhanin will be moving through various pronoun choices, nicknames, and registers throughout the course of the plot (and I shall of course publicly lose my mind about it every single time :P ) but in the trailer, we really only hear a sprinkling of that. When they first meet, they both use ผม/คุณ /pom, khun/ (= polite formal male 1st pers. pronoun and polite formal 2nd pers. pronoun) which they mostly keep using all the way till Emmaly:
Nin: นี่คุณเป็นใครวะ /nee khun bpen khrai wa/ = Who the hell are you?
We can first hear royal register being used by Charan though (in reference to Nin and before returning to Emmaly) when talking about Nin's true identity:
Ran: [...] ท่านชายคณินทร์ พระองค์มีสายเลือดของกษัตริย์ /tan chaai Khanin, phra-ohng mee saai leuuat khaawng ga-sat/ = [...] Prince Khanin, His Royal Highness has royal blood. -> พระองค์ /phra-ohng/ is a 3rd pers. pronoun used for high-ranking royalty like the King, princes, or princesses
Once in Emmaly and when in company or public, Charan is always heard using proper address with Khanin, such as:
Ran: ฝ่าบาท /faa baat/ -> ฝ่าบาท /faa baat/ is a 2nd pers. pronoun used for certain ranks of royalty
Ran: คือหน้าที่ของกระหม่อม /keuu naa-thee khaawng gra-maawm/ = Those are my duties. -> กระหม่อม /gra-maawm/ is a 1st pers. pronoun used by a male speaker when addressing royalty of certain ranks Sidenote: Chakri, Nin's butler, also uses it but as an ending particle (like ครับ /khrap/), not in this trailer but in the novels and the pilot.
Funny intermission-- here's Nin swinging away with god-knows-what to defend himself from the strangers invading his home:
Moving on! Both Nin and Ran can be heard using the male ending particle พ่ะย่ะค่ะ /pha-ya-kha/ that's used with certain royalty. Nin with (who I assume might be) the King--
Nin: มันใช้ความกล้าและความตั้งใจจริงต่างหากพ่ะย่ะค่ะ /man chai khwaam glaa lae khwaam dtang-jai jing dtaang haak pha-ya-kha/
--and Ran with Nin sometimes. Here are two such instances:
Ran: [...] ต้องขออภัยล่วงหน้าด้วยพ่ะย่ะค่ะ /dtaawng khaaw a-phai luaang naa duay pha-ya-kha/
Ran: หลังจากนี้กระหม่อมอยากให้เราระวังตัวในการใกล้ชิดกันมากขึ้นพ่ะย่ะค่ะ /lang jaak nee, gra-maawm yaak hai rao ra-wang dtuaa nai gaan glaai-chit maak kheun pha-ya-kha/ = From now on, I want us to be more cautious about being close to each other.
Last notes coming up~ A filming site observation from personal experience:

This scene was surely filmed at Chatuchak market in Bangkok, I recognize the type of numbered sign above their heads!
There is only one character I cannot identify - this mystery lady right here:
I have an idea who she might be but that's top secret :P
And lastly-- (partial) Title drop!
Nin: คุณอุตส่าห์บินข้ามฟ้าไปพาผมกลับมา [...] /khun oot-saa bin khaam faa bpai phaa pom glap maa/ = You diligently flew across the sky to bring me back, [...]
-> The Next Prince's native title is ข้ามฟ้าเคียงเธอ /khaam faa khiiang ter/ = Across the Sky, Beside You ✨

There was a man so dedicated to April Fools' Day that he flew hundreds of tires into a dormant volcano in Alaska and set them on fire, fooling the local public and the Coast Guard into thinking the volcano was active.
The architect of this prank was Oliver “Porky” Bickar, a World War II veteran. He had informed the FAA, fire department, and police about the prank. However, he forgot to notify the Coast Guard, which led to their genuine reaction and immediate investigation. Once informed, most residents of Sitka found the joke to be fantastic. An Alaska Airlines flight departing from Sitka was even diverted so that passengers could witness the faux eruption. Later, the admiral in charge of the Coast Guard in Alaska told Bickar that he thought the prank was brilliant.

PSA for anyone tending aircraft!!!!!!!
The FDA, CDC, and FAA have identified a HUGE uptick in cases of PS in Boeing planes over the past 3 months, with 737s being the most vulnerable to critical symptoms and autoimmune complications after infection.
For those who don't know, PS (Pteroium saprosis, also known as Boeing's Flap, Wing Rot, or Aileron Disease) is an autoimmune condition that can develop as a result of a fungal infection of the plane's dermal layer of skin, caused by the Sapromyces fungus native to North America. The condition causes the dermis to weaken and die, which in turn leads to chunks of tissue rotting and falling off of the wing, further infections, and potential death. This condition is not curable and can be very quickly fatal when not managed properly. Currently, the best we can do to treat this is to replace components as they decay. [X]
While most aircraft will experience very few (if any) symptoms of infection if caught early, aircraft that do not receive treatment or become highly symptomatic regardless of treatment are at extreme risk of developing the condition. Extreme risk meaning 93 out of 100 highly symptomatic planes will get PS.
There is no commercial vaccine currently available. Right now the University of Washington's AiRR (Aerozoology in Research and Rehabilitation) Zoo is in the process of developing one that looks promising, but it won't be available to the public until at least 2032. If you want to support the AiRR Zoo's research you can donate here.
How can you limit exposure and keep your plane safe?
Test your aircraft DAILY.
If a positive case is found, the infected aircraft must be immediately quarantined and be seen by a medical/mechanical professional within 24 hours of the first positive test. Outside of this window, it's 3x more likely your aircraft will develop the disorder. [X]
Clean bedding every other day at MINIMUM.
The fungal spores that cause Boeing's Flap thrive in areas that attract dampness, dust, and waste, making your aircraft's hangar bedding an ideal place for it to spread. Replacing or cleaning their bedding every two days drastically cuts down the amount of fungi in the hangar at any time. The International Civil Aerozoology Committee identified this as a "best practice" when handling sick and recovering aircraft in any setting. [X]
Watch what goes in their mouth.
The top way aircraft get exposed to the fungi is from chewing on fallen tree limbs and shedded car parts. If you see ANYTHING in their mouth while they're outside, TAKE IT OUT. I know a lot of aircraft like to gnaw and will get upset by this, but this could ultimately save their life.
Bring your aircraft with you.
If you're able, keep your aircraft near you at all times to monitor what they're getting into. Check if your employer has an ACI/WO (AirCraft In/Worker Out) policy that provides either a plane-friendly workplace for you to bring your aircraft to work for health monitoring, or allows you to work and monitor your aircraft from home. Not every employer will have this, unfortunately. You are able to use AMLA (AeroMedical Leave) to care for sick aircraft, but a lot of requirements need to be met: the type/infectiousness/severity of illness, living within 30 miles of a commercial airport, and your status as their legal owner. Note that this doesn't apply for preventative care, just the care and maintenance of already sick aircraft.
ANYWAYS I know this post got super long but PLEASE spread this so more people are aware. Any aircraft lost to PS is too many, and if this spreads to working planes the results could be catastrophic. Keep your critters safe guys <3

Dean Obeidallah at The Dean's Report:
On Tuesday, we learned that Elon Musk is not actually part of the Department of Government Efficiency (“DOGE”) that he is utilizing to wage a war on federal agencies. Rather he’s a “Senior Advisor to the President" and as such as a “special government employee.” But there are a few things we have long known about Musk. For starters, he has made billions from the federal government. As the NY Times reported recently, “Musk’s companies secured $13 billion in contracts over the past five years.” While Musk is gutting agencies that help Americans from the FAA to the National Labor Relations Board, Musk’s companies saw nearly $4 billion in government contracts in 2024—with lots more on the way in 2025 given his close ties to Trump. And second—while this has received less attention---Musk’s companies were being investigated by various federal agencies during the Biden administration. As the NY Times found, in January 2025, there were 32 continuing investigations into Musk’s six companies being led by at least 11 different federal agencies. These ranged from discrimination complaints filed by Black Tesla workers to potential stock fraud to consumer complaints about Tesla and more.
Some of the most visible investigations into Musk’s companies include the FAA seeking $633,000 in civil penalties against SpaceX for “allegedly failing to follow its license requirements during two launches in 2023.” The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) suing Musk for violating the Securities Exchange Act by failing to divulge to the public he had purchased more than five percent of Twitter stock as he was seeking to take over that company. If the public had known Musk had purchased the stock, the price would’ve jumped costing Musk more money to be future stock shares. The SEC is seeking disgorgement of ill-gotten gains and other penalties. Then there is the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)—a watchdog agency for workers—that is pursuing at least 24 investigations into Tesla, SpaceX and other Musk companies. And the list goes on.
But since Musk has come to power with his DOGE operatives, he has targeted the very agencies that were investigating him. In fact, Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee--led by Rep. Jamie Raskin--recently released a fact sheet that details how Trump and DOGE are “punishing” agencies that were investigating Musk. Examples cited by the House Democrats include the NLRB investigation on behalf eight Space X employees fired “in retaliation for speaking critically of Musk.” And a lawsuit by the E.E.O.C. that sued Musk’s Tesla for widespread and “ongoing racial harassment of its Black employees” and retaliation. These investigations appeared to have ground to a halt because Trump recently fired the E.E.O.C. commissioners and the chair of the NLRB. Trump also fired the Inspector General for the Dept of Labor that oversees both. And when Trump replaces these people—if ever—it’s expected to be with people who will be pro-Musk.
[...] To answer these questions, I filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the various agencies that were reportedly investigating Musk’s companies. My hope is to uncover information about the status of the investigations of Musk from the consumer complaints to the FAA fines. Federal law requires these agencies disclose any information requested under the FOIA unless the information falls into one of nine exemptions. Of course, the law doesn’t matter to Trump nor Musk as we are seeing. It will be telling if Trump’s regime ignores my requests for info concerning Musk. But that doesn’t mean that you and I should not request it—which you can easily do online. I will of course update people on anything I receive. We have never seen these types of brazen conflicts of interest, self-dealing and corruption playing out for all to see. The anger of the people is growing. And at some point, there will be a reckoning for Musk and the other oligarchs. The only question is what does that look like?!
Dean Obeidallah explores the reasons why Donald Trump ordered the federal investigations into his co-”President” Elon Musk ended.

I only recently found your Tumblr and have been enjoying it. I wondered if you'd seen the new article in The Atlantic yet? It's everything I was afraid of and more.
https://www.tumblr.com/meret118/776013260973539328/faa-employees-say-trump-and-musks-purge-is-a?source=share
I have not, because I am very, very careful about my news and social media consumption these days. Not least because I have been here since at least 2016 talking about how bad Trump et al are and what they can do, will do, and are doing, so I don't see the need to expose myself to even more distressing information that confirms what I already know and which I can do nothing to control. So, like... I know that Trump and Musk are evil rapacious shitbirds who are doing their level best to turn the US into a tinpot theocratic oligarchy for their own personal benefit, and are completely uncaring of any consequences or impact on the American people. As far as they're concerned, breaking things and causing pain and suffering is the point, just like the cruelty.
As well, the American media played such a large part in getting us into this mess that I am especially wary of giving them more Panic Clicks (TM) in the Trump 2.0 era, considering everything they did to bring it about. They destroyed Biden and forced him out of the race in six short weeks after the first debate debacle; they could have chosen to do this to Trump at literally any time, and they did not. The billionaires who own the news media are already bending their knee and eagerly lapping Trump's bloated orange backside with its PROPERTY OF VLADIMIR V. PUTIN tattoo. The more "liberal" outlets, i.e. the Atlantic, are getting back into their Principled Defender of Truth mode, where they can once more whip up Democrats and liberals into a panic (hardly as if that needs much help) to do... what?
Obviously, accurate reporting about the current Shitshow Moment is an important public service, but we had four years of Trump loudly stating his intentions at every possible moment while only continuing to get worse. As I said before, nothing he's doing now, heinous as it might be, is a surprise, because he said it all many times beforehand. But because half the country nonetheless just shrugged and voted for him again, the problem of informing them goes much deeper than just reading another Atlantic article about how it's exactly bad as we thought. This isn't pointed at you by any means; you're doing the work to keep yourself informed and to think about what you're going to do about it. Right now, however, I myself really don't need any more information and everything I learn about politics in the present moment is often against my will. (See: ferocious blacklisting, avoiding national news sites, trying to comment only on constructive aspects of the situation, etc.) So at this point, I'm keeping strictly away from the kinds of alarmist reports that tell me stuff I already know: it's really bad, it's gonna get worse, and we are the ones who are going to pay for it. But because half the country is locked in the Trump bubble, how do we deal with that? They're not reading highbrow Atlantic articles about how bad it is. They're reading AI gobbledygook on social media websites owned by fascists, that comfort them in their belief that however bad it is, it's a justified punishment for those Bad People over there and it doesn't matter if they suffer too, as long as the Bad People do. So we've gotta deal with that first.
Anyway: I hope this didn't come off as too dismissive, and I'm glad you're enjoying my blog! It's just that I really, really try to keep these kinds of pieces at arms' length right now, for various reasons, and put my energy into thinking what we can do about this situation instead. We know (god, do we ever) the basic fact that Shit Real Bad. But we can't stop there. Etc etc., Gandalf, What We Choose To Do With The Time That's Given To Us, so that is what I try to do.

Donald Trump has sent the federal government into a state of turmoil with his mass firings, flood of dubious executive orders, and appointments of alarmingly incompetent individuals. And when something goes wrong because of his own malfeasance, he resorts to flimsy scapegoating rather than accept responsibility.
A US Army helicopter collided with an airliner just a few days after a frequently drunk sex abuser picked by Trump became Defense Secretary.
At Daily Kos, Emily Singer writes about Pete Buttigieg's response to Trump's demented tirade about the crash.
Buttigieg then said Trump bears some of the blame for the crash, as he is in charge and has already taken actions to make the skies less safe. "President Trump now oversees the military and the [Federal Aviation Administration]," Buttigieg continued. "One of his first acts was to fire and suspend some of the key personnel who helped keep our skies safe. Time for the President to show actual leadership and explain what he will do to prevent this from happening again." At the time of the crash, there was no head of the FAA, as Trump's co-President Elon Musk had forced out the previous administrator because the FAA fined Musk's company SpaceX.
Yep, Elon Musk's billionaire ego may have contributed to the deaths of 67 people in this week's crash.
Trump also gutted an aviation safety committee days before the crash, getting rid of a three-decade-old safety committee that was created by Congress after the 1988 PanAm 103 bombing over Lockerbie, Scotland. Because the committee was created by an act of Congress, Trump couldn’t get rid of it, but he did fire all of its members, which will make the committee unable to do the work of looking into airline safety issues, the Associated Press reported. Kara Weipz, the president of Victims of Pan Am Flight 103, said a statement that Trump’s gutting of the safety commission, “will undermine aviation security in the United States and across the globe.”
Trump only cares about keeping oligarchs happy and himself out of prison. Public safety and health mean nothing to him.
Alexander Sammon at Slate writes...
t marks the first major crisis of the nascent Trump presidency, and one with particularly bad optics for the president. In his war with the administrative state and in his determination to gore federal spending, Trump had already fired the heads of the Transportation Security Administration and the Coast Guard and gutted a key aviation safety advisory committee, all just 10 days before the crash. As the Daily Beast reported, Federal Aviation Administration head Michael Whitaker stepped down on Jan. 20, after Elon Musk, the spear tip of Trump’s “cost cutting” spree, demanded that he quit.
Firing public safety officials so Elon Musk can play James Bond villain is the mark of a malicious moron, not a leader.
Trump doesn't have a great history with airplanes. He once had an airline called Trump Shuttle. One serious accident can be found in news archives.
Trump Jet Crash-Lands; No Injuries
Trump Shuttle lasted only three years and never made a profit. It sits on the shelf of Trump business failures along with Trump Vitamins, Trump Steaks, and Trump University.
A broader matter is the existence of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). It's directly on the other side of the Potomac River from Washington and suffers from congestion and understaffing. It probably shouldn't even be there but it's very convenient for politicians who prefer not to commute to the better equipped Dulles Airport.
USA Today says...
The airport is particularly popular among lawmakers because it's more convenient to their Capitol Hill offices than either Dulles International Airport (IAD) or Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI). [ ... ] "DCA is currently at capacity and at risk of being seriously overburdened should there be changes to the slot and perimeter rules," the Coalition to Protect America’s Regional Airports said in April. "Moreover, any changes to the slot and perimeter rules threaten to undermine the access of regional airports and their communities to the D.C. area, as well as increase delays, traffic, congestion, noise, and safety concerns." [ ... ] The airport's longest and main runway, Runway 1/19, is 6,869 feet long, which today is considered a relatively short runway for a major airport. Because the other two runways are much shorter, most airplanes use 1/19, making it the single-busiest runway in the country, according to airport officials. According to air traffic control data, Flight 5342 was on final approach for one of the shorter DCA runways, Runway 15/33. Due to safety and noise considerations, the FAA generally requires aircraft flying around the Washington, D.C., area to travel above the Potomac, which concentrates traffic in a narrow area. Aircraft are generally required to stay above or below certain altitudes in the area to reduce noise impacts on both residential and tourist areas, including the National Mall.
With fewer federal workers and reduced regulation which Trump and his filthy rich libertarian extremist broligarchs demand, expect more disasters.

went on a late-night rant in the stories and it ended up being kind of a banger so I thought I'd repost here because. yeah.
[ALT TEXT:
IMAGE 1 - "A tweet by user @/Acyn featuring a screenshot of Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller on FOX News. The tweet quotes him as saying: "MILLER: It's so preventable. As President Trump said today, over the past four years the FAA and air-traffic control under Joe Biden have been dedicated to a mission not of public safety and not of safe aviation but of diversity, equity, and inclusion." Overlayed, I have placed a card with my commentary that reads, "Can you not see. Can you not see what they're doing yet."
IMAGE 2 - The following are all cards of text where I share my thoughts. This card reads, "DEI is their catch-all for 'anyone who isn't like us.' They are using it to blame EVERYTHING they do, everything wrong or bad, on anyone. who. is. not. like. them."
IMAGE 3 - Card reads, "DEI is becoming the curse word that means anyone who isn't white, straight, non-disabled, wealthy, cisgender, and a man. That NONE of those people belong unless they've married into the cult, literally or figuratively."
IMAGE 4 - Card reads, "This is where a very dark period in our nation begins. And we can make it a short period or a long one. That's on us. All of us."
IMAGE 5 - Card reads, "To be clear and less poetic, we are about to see a cultural shift to resegregate our nation, force (white) women back into the home, and persecute queer/trans folk."
IMAGE 6 - Card reads, "History has shown us these patterns again, and again, and AGAIN. Which means we have the knowledge and time to push back. To refuse to let it take hold in our communities. We will NOT let white supremacy prevail. We will NOT stand by while our neighbors are harmed."
IMAGE 7 - Final card reads, "This time, we will BE BRAVE."
